Based on my personal experience dealing with Brandy Austin as opposing counsel, I have developed serious concerns about the conduct, representations, fairness, and respect for due process that I personally witnessed during litigation. My experience has given me every reason to document everything and question everything. If Brandy Austin or her law firm has ever served as opposing counsel against you and you believe you experienced misconduct, misrepresentations, unfair treatment, or violations of your rights, REACH OUT TO ME. Bring documentation--not rumors. Preserve your emails, pleadings, court orders, transcripts, recordings lawfully obtained, and every other piece of admissible evidence. And please stop assuming that because someone throws a court rule or procedure in your face, the discussion is over. A procedural rule does not give anyone permission to disregard controlling constitutional protections. Know the difference, learn the law, preserve your objections, and invoke the rights actually afforded to you by the United States Constitution. Parents should especially understand the constitutional significance of their parental rights. Troxel v. Granville, 530 U.S. 57 (2000), recognizes the fundamental liberty interest parents possess concerning the care, custody, and control of their children. Santosky v. Kramer, 455 U.S. 745 (1982), likewise recognizes substantial constitutional protection for the parent-child relationship. People dealing with Title IV-D proceedings should educate themselves about 42 U.S.C. § 658a, which provides for incentive payments to states based on child-support program performance. Read the statute yourself. Understand what it actually says. Ask questions. Demand that assertions made against you be supported by evidence. I would also encourage people to EDUCATE THEMSELVES. Get a paralegal certificate if that path makes sense for you. I pursued paralegal studies myself, and some programs can be completed in approximately 9-12 months. Become a serious student of the law. Learn legal research, evidence, procedure, constitutional law, and how to read statutes and judicial opinions for yourself. People are much harder to intimidate with legal terminology when they understand what the terminology actually means. Later, after leaving, I said I would continue with the process, and when I got home in the afternoon, I ended up making the payment, which was my mistake--making the payment before reading all the documentation thoroughly. The next day, on the 20th, I received the information I needed to sign the agreement. Unfortunately, starting from the night of the 19th, I became very sick, with high fever, body aches, and I couldn't get out of bed. I felt too ill to take the time to carefully read the documents, as they advised, and as I understand any legal process should be done--by reading everything carefully. Today, Tuesday the 25th, is the first day I could finally get out of bed, and I received an urgent email asking me to contact the office. I did, and the secretary transferred me to Mrs. Garner, who treated me with a burst of bad attitude and spoke very inappropriately for someone dealing with a client who's just gotten out of bed after being ill. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Later, I contacted Mrs. McDaniel again to ask about the refund, and she told me that Mrs. Garner wouldn't be back until next Monday due to the holidays, and that she would decide on the refund amount. But the agreement clearly states that nothing can be done until I sign the documents, and I haven't signed anything. I was genuinely not in a condition to read them thoroughly, as any legal process requires. So, I don't recommend these people at all, because as long as they have your money, they're friendly and will even offer you cough medicine or some water or coffee, but once they have the money, they become very harsh and disrespectful. I explained to them that I had just gotten out of bed and had been alone, taking medication, and they just didn't care. To add, now I depend on Mrs. Garner's discretion to refund my money, and on what amount she considers appropriate to return, even though no actions were supposed to be taken until I signed any documents.

This lawyer is incompetent and seems to be unethical. She tried to charge me $5000 more after she…read moremade a mistake! Her office made at least two mistakes not contacting the trustee. She incorrectly told me the case was over when it was not. She did not protect my interests allowing an unscrupulous trustee John Spicer to bait and switch for a five figure settlement and now came back to the well for four times more. These two lawyers should be disbarred and at the very least censured. It is not slander or libel if it is the truth. These are two sad excuses for human beings.
