Staff are friendly and the food was good. The tofu was grilled enough to not taste like rubber :) The place does smell kinda funny, almost like fresh paint.. could be just because they just opened. Not Flame Broiler, but definitely worth it if you are looking for something similar to flame broiler. So frustrating when close time says 9 PM and it's only 837 and the doors are locked! When one of the best places to eat in town isn't open when you expect it to be and it's kind of frustrating. Hopefully management will change the open and close time or make sure their employees keep the doors unlocked until they're supposed to be closed. I realize everything is a bit crazy during this covid pandemic. But 3 times now I have ordered the family meal (Steak & Chicken) with Salad and Potstickers. 3 times now I have not received the steak on my order. The first time I had to go pick up the steak myself. The second time they gave me free steak on my next order (but no refund for the steak I paid for and never received). Third time - well - it's been over an hour and a half, and no resolution has been made yet. Service was great when it first opened, but now . . . doubt I will ever eat here again. read more

Waba needs to just give up on their delivery service (doordash) because this is the 3rd time I've had to wait 2 to 3 hours just to get my food only for it to arrive cold! The food is good but the service is crap especially when you get it delivered. So I recommend if you want waba your better off picking it up than getting it delivered through their partnership with Door dash! read more

Waba Grill is one of my favorite restaurants out there. I'm so glad there's one in Santa Paula now. My expectations were high when I came here for lunch. I was not disappointed. My meal was as expected and presentable. Employees greeted me when I walked in. I didn't wait long for my meal and also noticed the employees being very knowledgeable and courteous of the options as customers walked in asking and looking at the menu not knowing what they wanted. My first time trying WaBa Grill and it was actually better then I thought it was going to be. The restaurant is new so everything inside was nice and clean. I ordered the Tofu and Vegetable Bowl with brown rice...love that they have a tofu and brown rice option! The tofu was nicely grilled, veggies were cooked but still crisp and the rice was moist. I requested an extra side of the teriyaki sauce and was glad I did because I think everything would've been a bit bland without it. Good food great friendly service from the owner. (Same idea as best bbq in town but with Asian sauces instead of southern bbq) They do offer salmon and tofu options as well. It appears that they are understaffed. I had to wait 1 hour to get my mobile order. I specifically placed it at 11:50 so I could pick it up at 12:30. When I arrived at 12:30 it was not ready. There were multiple guests complaining for the long wait. I didn't get my salad until 12:50. I love the food from WaBa but it's stores like this that don't make you want to come back again. This is my first time eating at WaBa Grill. I had the chicken and Steak Veggie bowl. It was perfectly cooked and the portion was just right.
