This was my first time at a hot pot place. The food was really good! It's all you can eat style now so you order a broth and a few meats and the rest of the stuff like veggies, noodles, fish balls, dumplings, and octopi are in the fridge for customers to grab and put in their soup. The broth was good. I got the Taiwanese but my gf got the Thai broth and that one was better (and spicier). All the ingredients were very fresh and it was a solid value for the money. I first tried Tasty Pot in NorCal, but at the time I wasn't impressed due to the numerous options available there. It also doesn't provide that traditional hotpot experience which I find much more enjoyable. However in VC options are limited, so when I saw Tasty Pot recently opened I was quite ecstatic! There were 12 different pots and 5 spicy levels to choose from. Pot numbers 1-7 were smaller size and numbers 8-12 were larger size pots. Except for the Healthy Veggie pot, all the soup base was pork broth. Most of the pots also had very similar ingredients, the difference I could see were the main protein choice and soup flavor. They also have another menu for rice and noodle options if you didn't want to do the personal pots. We got the Taiwanese Supreme in mild and the Seafood Lobster in medium. We also got a side of quail eggs. The pots arrived with a candle of some sort below to keep it hot. Both pots were of the larger size and filled with lots of food. The mild was the perfect level of spicy for me, a hint of spice that does not overpower the original flavor of the ingredients, rather it enhanced each one and made it more tasty. Service was good, our server came by frequently to check on us and to refill the soup. At one point the flame under the pot had already gone out but we hadn't cook the noodles so we requested another flame. We were told they had to bring the pot back to the kitchen to heat it up. So I guess the flame was there to just keep the pot warm rather than actually cooking. Although this cannot compare to the traditional hotpot, this personal hotpot is still a very good option and helps to satisfy my craving. read more

Tasty Pot was an excellent dinner choice, and id say this place is a step up from Boiling Point. The server was friendly and the restaurant was clean. There were about 17 options from beef, lamb, kimchi, Curry, tom, yum, making it difficult to choose but I ended up choosing the Taiwanese Supreme, which came with a huge variety of meats and vegetables. I got the medium spice level, which was still pretty hot for me, so order accordingly! We paired our meal with their milk teas; while the tea flavor was solid, the boba texture was a little hard/not as QQ as id like. We drove down from SLO and I was craving hotpot since there's not much asian food where I'm at. The server working on Saturday afternoon was so friendly and helpful! He was the only one working but he got us everything we needed and even bussed all the tables himself. I was really impressed that he could handle the whole store himself and still keep up a really positive attitude!! The food was really good! Compared to SoCal, it might be considered average, but when you compare it to anything in the central coast (esp north) it's really tasty!! It's always nice to find a good Asian restaurant in the 805. It's even better when the staff speaks your native language (Vietnamese). This is a very good option if you want to have tasty hot pot without the guilt of an All You Can Eat restaurant. The service on a weekday lunch was very quick and not crowded. The soup ingredients are fresh and delicious. You can always add more ingredients with the à la carte menu. And the broth is amazingly smooth and comforting. My updated review is based on my third trip here. Main issue was that not all of the ingredients were in the Taiwanese Supreme pot that we ordered. It was missing pretty much a third of the ingredients that's stated on the menu, and was mainly cabbage and beef, which were good, but very disappointing considering how pricey it has gotten. We also ordered the fried calamari which was the smallest portion I've seen in terms of size and amount. Not sure if that was worth the price. Overall, this still would be a go to spot for hot pot considering there aren't many places like this in VC and the service was still good, but definitely going to be on the back burner awhile. read more

So glad to have a Taiwanese hot pot place in Oxnard! I've been anxiously awaiting their grand opening and have been coming back at least once a month. They have a variety of hot pot sets that come with broth, meat and/or veggies and/or seafood. You can pick your spice level. I really like their Beef, Seafood, and Curry hot pots. Mild is the perfect level of spice for me. However, as a warning, when the soup is boiling, it'll taste spicier. If you dine in, they'll serve the hot pot in a cute set up where it sits over an open flame. The food is also good if you order for takeout and pick up or use DoorDash. They also have different drinks and boba. I've tried their Rose Matcha Latte a couple times and it's been just ok. Can't really taste the matcha and the boba has been way too soft both times. Service has been excellent. Staff is friendly and they come around to check on you. You can ask them to refill your broth if you need more. Tables are clean and never had to wait. Lots of parking in the plaza. One thing to note is that they do stop serving new customers at least half an hour before they close. read more

Great flavors and options. My only complaint was that when I got Thai flavor hot pot, they didn't refill the broth with that same flavor. When I asked, they said they only refill with the beef broth which I did want but when they did add it, I felt was too salty for me. We came here several months ago before they became AYCE (that's what you see in the photos). During that first visit I thought our meal was pretty decent. The place felt pretty empty but service wasn't bad and the meal was pretty filling and well prepared. Fast forward to now where it is an AYCE. I noticed it was much more crowded with maybe 2 or 3 tables open when we arrived on a sat night. When we got seated I noticed there was some food and some RAW meat on one of the seats. I avoided that seat. We asked the server if they have any gluten free options due to a member in our party being gluten free. She promptly says the Sukiyaki is gluten free. Ok great. We go up and grab our sides (veggies, noodles, etc from the side fridge) and sauces. We sit down and our food is served. As we are about to eat the server comes promptly to the table and says the sukiyaki has gluten. Instead of checking upfront (if she didn't really know) she just made an assumption and decided to ask the kitchen after the food was served??? She then says the fried rice is gluten free. We order it. Just to make sure we ask again when it comes out (brought out by another server) and he says it has soy sauce. She then comes running out and says they made it without soy sauce. It was just chaos and confusion. Then as I'm eating my hotpot I see a bug crawling out of the veggies. Yep that was the end of it. Finally when they bring out the check they charge us for the original sukiyaki that was not eaten due to gluten (and returned to the kitchen). They didn't even think about that when bringing out the check. They bring us a new check without the sukiyaki and as they are charging my credit card another server brings out the original receipt with the sukiyaki. I mean...what is going on I think this owner needs to better oversee operations, have their staff better trained, and maybe make sure food is washed properly so you don't get bugs. Especially if you are trying to run AYCE I don't write too many reviews but thought this was important enough to share. read more

The ongoing growth of Asian cuisine in Oxnard over the last few years has been great for those of us who have travelled for good eats. Tasty Pot is a spot that we have always wanted to visit and glad that this Taiwanese experience is now here. This is yummy and I'm so happy that we tried it. Service was great and we were well attended to. Food came out quick and the staff were definitely pleasant. Decent amount of seating available inside the restaurant. Started to fill up around dinner time. Glad to see they had traffic - we need this plate to succeed. Portions are deceptively large. I had the Kimchi dumplings pot and it was incredible. 10/10. Next time, I'll be getting the same thing. Extra Spicy Heat was not overwhelming head but added a ton of flavor. Those dumplings were perfect. Rice cake, fish ball and an egg. Didn't go wrong. I also mixed all 4 sauces provided in this. Mouth is watering thinking about it. My wife loved her Japanese Miso - medium heat. She says she would get the same thing again. My daughter would get her beef pot again. My son enjoyed the cheesy milk but said he would try something different next time. Thought he would like this as he is a fan of the military stew at Ragin Pot in Hueneme but this didn't hit the same. The kids said their Thai Teas were very good. I was helping out in Oxnard for the afternoon, and seeing that the day was gloomy and cold. I immediately thought of something warm to eat. To my surprise, Tasty Pot was close to where I was supposed to be at and well, after sitting in 2 hours of traffic, I was hungry. Tasty Pot is right off the 101 Freeway on Vineyard and located in a strip mall alongside a boba shop and Carls Jr. Arriving at around noon on a Friday, parking was incredibly easy as I got a spot right in front with plenty of spaces around. The restaurant is clean and well kept with a large space. Parties of 10+ will not have a problem here. Sitting down and ordering, I got the beef pot (medium hear) with rice with a side of extra beef and quail eggs. Since it is lunch it came with a free tea, which to me was a wonderful surprise. The hot put came out with a burner along with my additions. Let me start with the broth. So tasty, clean aftertaste, oh and they refill it! The beef itself was well done and along with the additions (mushrooms, tofu, cabbage) filled me up. Safe to say, my hunger was well satisfied. For a rating I would give it 8/10. The broth really won me over, but I feel that the beef shavings needed a bit more flavor. They have multiple types of bowls, so I would recommend either coming with friends, or multiple visits! I tried the Thai Hot pot and beef Hot pot and they were both delicious. the base is a pork broth and they add flavoring for each specific choice. plenty of meat and veggies and 4 different choices to for a custom made dipping sauce. I love that Tasty Pot has come to Oxnard! My friends and I came during opening week (opening day actually) and we had a fabulous time. Always impressed when a new restaurant can fully execute A+ service and a phenomenal dining experience on opening day. This spot will only get better with time but they are already off to an amazing start. My friends and I wandered in around 5pm and were able to get sat immediately. It's seat yourself. This restaurant isn't too big so I'm sure there will be longer wait times the more that people start to learn about this place. Restaurant was clean and inviting. I loved the decor with cute little lights and the artwork / painting behind the counter was cool. The menu is pretty big with hotpot options, additional toppings, appetizers and drinks. Ordering is a little more unique as you scan a barcode on your table and then place your order that way. Once you are done eating you would pay at the counter. This ordering system had to be explained to us because at first we weren't exactly sure what to do but now we know and it's easy peasy. Plus if you are reading this you now have the advantage of you know how it works :). Prices seemed very reasonable for the amount of food that we were given. Definitely come hungry because the hotpot's are a lot of food! To start I had a peached iced tea with 75% sweetness and it was so delicious. I love a good sweet tea. Very refreshing and compliments the hotpot well. Lots of boba teas and fun drink options here. My friend got a taro drink which also looked pretty tasty. A good tea is definitely 5/5 always in my book. For my hotpot I opted for the classic mild beef pot. Definitely a comforting dish. I love how loaded all of the proteins and toppings are in this soup. The broth was very very light. Normally I'm more of rich broth type of a girl (like a ramen) but having something on the lighter side was nice. Good flavor to the broth but to kick it up a notch I added a little bit of garlic and chili oil. The beef was tender and I really liked the clams, mushrooms and cabbage in my soup. Pro tip: get the side of white rice - loved adding it to the soup for some needed thickness. I'd say hotpot was about a 4/5 for me. Comforting and unique for me as I had never tried it before. Staff and service were very warm and friendly. You could tell the staff were eager to help and excited about opening day. I thought everyone here did a great job and made us feel welcome. Tasty Pot is well worth a trip if you are a local or visiting the Oxnard area. A fun new restaurant to try and I'd love to come back to try some different soup bases and toppings. read more

Made it in on Opening Day. I was immediately greeted and shown a seat ! Large space with tons of seating ! So many pots to choose from! They also offer Boba drinks ! I am a first timer coming to hotpot. It is definitely a great experience to try it at least once. They have lots of options but I decided to try the seafood lobster. It is perfect for cold day or feeling under the weather. You can customize it to your liking as well as the spiciness! To me is similar to caldo with lots of veggies and your choice of meat. It was very flavorful and just right for my spicyness (got a level 2). Staff were very welcoming and they even come around offering more broth. Finally it's open! I saw the sign posted outside which felt like half a year ago so I was super excited to hear that tasty pot opened. The restaurant inside is actually really spacious with a lot of tables and everything seems clean. The employees were welcoming and nice. We got the curry hot pot and beef hot pot. My curry hot pot really did feel homey. It was super flavorful and they did not cheap out on the toppings. My one concern was how small the amount of rice they give. It seemed like half a cups worth. Other places would give you an entire bowl full of rice. And it was extra charge for more rice. The popcorn chicken also had a small portion, but it was super fresh and crispy. Also, the price for one hot pot is $20, which is much more expensive than tasty pot hot pot in LA. I would definitely still come back again if I am craving hot pot since it's so close. read more

This restaurant just opened and it is definitely worth a try! This is pretty much the equivalent of Boiling Point and I'm glad that a hotpot restaurant finally opened in the area! We came in around 7 PM on a weekday and there was no wait with 3-4 other tables inside. Upon being seated, the server was so nice and recommended us a few of the hotpot options he's tried before. He seemed really excited to be there and was telling us about the soft opening a few days ago. The servers were very attentative. The restaurant is not too big but had a nice ambiance. I can see this place having a long wait time once it's more established in the area. FOOD: We ordered the kimchi dumpling hotpot, lamb hotpot, and popcorn chicken. Like boiling point, they give you sauces on the side for you to add/dip your food. Our favorite was the soy garlic sauce, but we thought it wasn't garlic-y enough. The soup base seemed kind of diluted to me and was not as flavorful as I expected it to be. It came with a good portion of proteins and toppings in the hotpot! The popcorn chicken pieces were slightly small and didn't have basil like normal Taiwanese popcorn chicken. It didn't have the basil taste that we love. Overall, all of the food was solid and we will be back to try the other hotpot flavors. The hotpots were about $20-$25 each and the popcorn chicken was about $8. It's a tad bit pricier than I expected, especially compared to the typical Boiling Point in LA. But since it's the only hotpot restaurant in the area, the price is justified. read more

Finally! Finally! Finally! I have been waiting for this place to open since I saw the sign on the building. Today was the soft opening. I ordered my hotpot with the lamb and Sichuan broth. I love Sichuan spice , sometimes places will have "sichuan" on the menu, but it is not the real deal. I was very happy with how the flavor was for the broth very authentic. I also enjoyed the refreshing winter melon and lemon juice made in house. The service staff were very nice and refilled our soup broth. I think the staff may be friends and family because they seem very cordial to one another. It is always nice to see when a business's staff getting along well. I also like the contemporary feel you get dining inside from the decor to the utensils and pots serving the soup. I loved the kimchi hot pot it was filled with veggies and very generous serving. the Taiwanese supreme spicy is pretty good as well. Lots of beef and veggies. I also ordered the beef sizzling with rice, it's good but it's not worth the price for the serving size. The hot pot are worth it, but might be better if you eat it at the restaurant. The service is good, they are pretty fast. The ambience is very family friendly. Nothing negative to say, it is the ONLY decent hot pot in the entire city of Oxnard and Ventura. read more

I'm so so glad that I didn't have to drive an hour to enjoy my favorite food and can I say they are one of the most generous hot pot places I have ever been to? I still had a good amount of meat left and my coworker could barely finish half of her meal and she packed the rest which was good enough for another meal.
