I have been on pie eyed parrot on 2 occasions, once in October and once in the summer. It is worth it to try it but it leaves more to be desired. You can board the boat up to 90mins prior to leaving which they refer to as happy hour- however, do not be misled as there is no happy hour although you can order when you board. You will also have assigned seat. The seating is very close together and not that comfortable. The first experience in October wasn't as crowded and was a little cooler so I'd advise to bring extra layers because of the wind and since it will be dark on way back. The drinks were not strong at all and I could not taste any liquor. We were also seated on opposite side that did not face sunset although you get the view regardless, it was crowded trying to get any pictures. We wanted to return in the summer for the experience and it was crowded, however, I'd say we lucked out with seats at the end which is most ideal because as I said, they are so close together. Again, drinks were not that strong.. I am always drawn to order the mixed drinks but end of saying I should have gotten wine or beer as at least I know whats in it. It's definitely for tourists but it's be nice if they changed things up, particularly with the music, it's a bit cheesy and repetitive.. and it was the same in October and August. The ride is actually long and I even feel it could be cut shorter if it was more comfortable and spacious experience. read more

LOOK AT THE SAME ISSUE-CANNOT TASTE ALCOHOL -WINE BASE DRINKS- False advertisement. Doesn't know the meaning of customer service. This is for Pie Eyed Parrot Happy Hour Cruise. Two friends with us ordered a daiquiri and Piña colada with doubled shots. You could not taste any alcohol at all. Requested from the waitress about the issues of the two drinks. She never came back to our table. After 30 minutes another friend decided to requested new drinks for them from the bartender downstairs. She was given an attitude from the bartender and the owner Todd. We found out the drinks are made with wine base liquor, which is a mixture of wine and water. This is not listed in the menu. Would not recommend and we will do a different boat ride next time from another company. read more

Overall, this was a fun trip but there are some things you should know before you book. TLDR- great sunset view, good service, drinks are well liquor mixed drinks, frozen drinks, and beer, food is just concession- style food, bring cash, and know that you will need to be there 45 mins before the boat is scheduled to leave, but wouldn't go much earlier bc you don't control where you sit. Here's the detailed info- Firstly, they assign seats and you could end up at a middle table with obstructed views. My family and I were seated at a middle table on the roof after paying for a rooftop ticket. A majority of people people were seated at stools that face out to the water. We asked if we could get a seat at one of these seats and they said that because they already assigned us to a middle seat we couldn't move to those seats with better views. If we knew this was the case, we wouldn't have rushed to the boat. Instead, we would have gone to the bars next door for drinks as we waited for boarding time. The servers were really kind, and at the end of the day, this was a fun way to see the inlet. Just be aware of the assigned seating (so don't rush to get there to get a good seat- you'll have no control over this), make sure you're there 45 mins early like they say on the ticket, and bring cash for tips for the crew as you exit. read more

We had a blast! The crew were very attentive and made sure drinks stay flowing. We ordered appetizers and the delivered to your seat. I recommend sitting on the upper deck for the best views! The drinks were very affordable and delicious. The punch was refreshing and the frozen drink were good as well. I will do this cruise every visit! Seems like this is for Pie Eyed Parrot which is under a different name, so I wanted to send some tips for anyone considering visiting. We were on a full boat, which seems like it was 120 guests. It's $30 for top deck and $20 for lower. The top deck is absolutely worth it - better views, less crowded, and breezier for a hot evening. The lower deck has the bar and bathroom so you'll get crowds of people waiting for those. Get there as soon as it opens (if it departs at 7:30, get there at 6). The loading process is slow, so if you can get there earlier and don't mind standing around, I recommend doing that! You can start drinking and get your choice of a seat. If you arrive later, you're likely going to have a middle seat with worse views. The only thing keeping me from a 5 star review was lack of wait staff for a full boat. The waitress on the upper deck was absolutely swamped (waiting on 60 people! We felt so bad for her!), and anytime we visited the bar in the first half of the trip, we had quite a wait. Seems like the crowd slowed down drinking and the bar cleared up once the boat set out to the inlet. Overall, I'd recommend to anyone visiting the area. First, the crew is friendly and does a good job. Second, the cruise around the inlet is nice and a great way to see it. The problem is that the ownership was rude, from our experience. Also, don't buy any food from them on the boat. We bought a chips and salsa and two drinks and it was $30 and then the chips and salsa were basic store-bought type. It was far too expensive for what you got. It was fun overall but not worth the cost and I don't like giving money to people that don't appear to appreciate it. There are other great options for exploring the inlet and you will have more fun drinking around the Marsh Walk anyway. I would have given a two stars but the views are great and the staff on the boat was good. read more

My fault! Please read the fine print in your email. The email says 7:15 to 8:45, but that is the voyage time on the water. Boarding is between 5:45-6:30pm, it is NOT a 90-minute optional happy hour prior to boarding. Don't be late, they will leave without you! We arrived at 7:05, just as they were getting ready to close the gate & did not allow us to board. Via email, they did offer us the next night, but they canceled us because of thunderstorms & then had no room for us o. the following night. Sadly we never got to see the sunset or enjoy a boat ride. It was just.... Ok. Sure, we got good pictures. Sure, the music was great. The $8 handful of chips and salsa were Great Value (Walmart brand, saw them being them on board) that doesn't bother me, they were still yummy because ....when isn't chips and salsa yummy when you're drinking lol The $8 drinks were made from bottom of the well liquors. I don't know how much beers were, I didn't drink them. The crew did nothing to make this trip fun..... It was the other people on the boat drinking that made it fun. You tip your bartenders (we did 20% every time.) But then you're expected to tip again as you get off the boat. They also don't let you choose your seats. I am a plus size woman and I was not comfortable in their 1.5lb aluminum chairs, but I was told I couldn't sit in the lounge chairs because other parties were supposed to be seated there....we were the second party on the boat?! How do we NOT get to pick where we are seated? We waited in line. We got there early. Only to be told we couldn't choose our spot. We paid $25 a ticket for top deck, but the crew member must've seen I refused to sit in the chair and came over and told us we could go downstairs to the loungers if we wanted. ($20 ticket) Embarrassing. We also got back to dock at 8:50pm, so 10 mins early. Overall, sure... It was fun. Would I do it again or recommend to a friend? No. read more

After a fantastic time 2 weeks ago with my husband for our anniversary while in town, I decided to bring my daughter and 2 girls from her bridal party to the sunset cruise for fun on our bachelorette week in Myrtle Beach. We had 2 more in town but they were not 21 and the website and booking site say 21 and over only. While waiting to board, a family in front of us was allowed on with a teenage girl. Apparently it's the captain's discretion. This family was a walk-up. We paid and reserved our spots online previously. The cruise started out great. The vibe was chill and the drinks were great! The reason I chose to return to Pie-Eyed Parrot is because they enforce mask wearing while walking around and they have enough distance between each party for safety. There was a large party in the middle on loungers and 3 decided to come squeeze in between my party and another. The other party was able to move down enough, which they did immediately, but we were not as there was another party at the table on our opposite side. One of the women literally touched a girl in our party with her hair numerous times. She was so close that there was no room to even turn around. I asked our sweet waitress if they had stopped enforcing the social distancing and she said they still do and would speak to another staff member. Jeannie came up to me and at that point another woman from this party had already got up and sat on the other side of us so we were now sandwiched in, although she did leave about 2 feet between us. Jeannie said she saw the issue and went over to the 3 girls and spoke to them for quite some time and left. At this point, the party started getting loud and verbally assaultive to 'whoever had an issue' (clearly directing their attention to us) for a few minutes before moving to the lower level. They made a huge scene and even got a man on the opposite side of the boat to say rude things towards us. They kept saying we were not social distancing which shows their ignorance since all 4 of us were in the same party and we were not wearing our masks because we were sitting at our table, that had been assigned by the captain. Our entire cruise was ruined. We were verbally accosted in the presence of the entire top floor of the boat including the captain and would have left immediately to take our celebration elsewhere had we been on land. Jeannie returned towards the very end because I had asked our nice waitress what her name was. She said she was the owner and not responsible for the actions of others and hoped I wouldn't leave a bad review. I'm sorry but the situation should have been handled differently to where we were not put on blast as the people who complained that this party had left their seats (where you are to stay during the cruise unless using the bathroom as instructed at the beginning of the cruise) and were in the space reserved for social distancing. read more

We have not taken the cruise as yet, so I cannot speak to that part. But I have 3 reservations and need to cancel one and after 2 weeks of trying have not had any success. The telephone number after numerous messages goes voice mail. (It also mentions most questions can be answered on the Web page Q&A - that does not seem to exist, at least no links to it!) SCAM! Extremely unprofessional business! We booked a special event with over twenty people, close to $500 in fees, just to have the cruise cancelled days prior without any notice. You are able to book online in advance but the company doesn't even have the permits required to be on the water. The website says established since 2017, but no permits? Why are they allowing people to book a cruise and pay ahead of time when the permits aren't in place to begin with?! No permits but they continue booking cruises week after week. The company stated that they have been waiting weeks for a permit but they don't notify anyone ahead of time. A honest/professional business would have everything in place prior to opening. They don't return phone calls, text messages, or emails. Save your money and time, go to a trustworthy/reputable business. read more

I took this cruse the day before Thanksgiving with my family. Everyone from the captain to the bartender was completely delightful and friendly. It was well worth the money and my entire family considered it a bargain. We enjoyed the beautiful views and the warm and friendly atmosphere. Departure and return was prompt and professional. Snacks were good and very fair portions. I had the delicious tacos. My wife had the potato wedges covered in cheese and bacon. She enjoyed hers too, but could not eat all of it. My only suggestion would be that they expand the drink selection at the bar. They have wine, beer and bloody marys. The red wine was served ice cold and this should really not be refrigerated. Could not get a scotch, bourbon or a vodka/orange juice or grapefruit juice (hence the 4 star instead of a 5). Those are my drinks. Hopefully, they will expand on this as they grow. Maybe there are some restrictions that I am not aware of. All-in-all, wonderful people, wonderful trip and wonderful price. Will definitely do it again. We highly recommend it. read more
