My son brought his Ram Truck to Waconia after learning at a dealership in Michigan, that there was a recall on his truck. The dealership in Michigan could not handle the recall so he was forced to bring his truck back home for repair. The problem was that someone in Michigan entered the wrong codes and now the VIN number indicates that all the recall work was done when it hadn't even been started! Alex at Waconia worked tirelessly for 2 weeks to help us get this straightened out. It was no small feat as we got no help from the dealership in Michigan. We had to call in Area managers to get this all worked out. Along the way of this process, Alex continually kept me updated. Despite many back and forth phone calls, he was always polite and made me feel that my business was important. I spoke to a couple ither folks at Waconia who were equally as helpful and polite. Alex went way above and beyond to be sure my son's truck was fixed and safe. I am so thankful for his diligence and kindness. His service and the service at Waconia gets an A+. Very poor customer service. Had vehicle detailed and they damaged my windshield and refused to take responsibly for it. They flat out told me that I brought it in with a damaged windshield. It has been 5 weeks and no resolution. They continue to tell me that their team is meeting to discuss. Do not do any business with this dealership. read more

Waconia Dodge Chrysler is completely unorganized and unprofessional. We had an appointment to drop off our truck to have a spray and bedliner installed. We explained that we would be dropping off before the shop open. They instructed us to leave the keys in their dropbox. Which we did. When we came after work to pick up the truck. They apparently forgot to look in the dropbox to see if our keys were there. So no one knew our truck was there to perform the work. Even though those were the instructions given to us. Hard to really believe. Nobody seemed to really care that our truck hadn't been worked on. And simply asked if you like to set up another appointment. I really recommend going to a different dodge dealership for service. The techs here are awful. I live close-by and wanted to support them, but I'm never going back for service. I ordered black running boards for my blacked out truck, had to wait a month for an appointment, and when I came to pick it up they had put chrome running boards on. Why nobody thought that might be wrong, I don't know. After they fought with me about it, they finally took them off and replaced them. A year later I had a wheel bearing going out, so had them replace it. When I came to pick it up, the battery was dead. This is a truck that has NEVER once had an issue with starting. How is a bearing and the battery correlated? I have no idea. It's a newer truck, so it automatically turns off its lights. It just seems that the service techs are completely inept. And not only that, but they'll argue with you about things they clearly did wrong. The desk guy told me that I probably had a bad battery.. Which I did not, but probably do now. I'm just waiting to see what else they might have messed up during the visit. read more

I stopped in their service department yesterday without an appointment and they were wonderful. I got my passenger seat belt caught behind the headrest and no one could ride in that seat. My son and I tried everything we knew to do including reading the suggestions in the manual that came with the car. Two of the Waconia service techs worked on it for about 20 minutes or more, fixed it and never charged me a dime. First time I was in this dealership but I can guarantee you it won't be my last. I'll admit two things, first this review is for visit over a year ago, and secondly I just went there to buy a vehicle and have only been back one time to that location since (I go somewhere closer to my home since this is 35+ minute drive from my home). BUT with that being said, I would repeat and continue to recommend this location. They treated me with respect, good price, didn't monkey around with add ons (they offered but no extra pressure to buy them) and they were just polite and seemed like all around good people. I heard about them from someone who spoke about them the same way and I found it to be very true. I called them looking for a specific color and model and they didn't have it but said they would get one in shortly and called me a week or two later and I went in and bought it. Some of the giant dealerships in the Twin Cities will do one game after another with fees, adding stuff to invoice, even putting a sticker for their business on the car when you don't ask them to. BUT Waconia Dodge was straight up a good place with good people. When you shop for a car I'd suggest you consider them. Brought my vehicle in 3 times for a death wabble. all 3 times they couldn't replicate it when it does it every time I drive it. first time they said brakes. Didn't fix it. Then steering stabilizer. Which fixed it for awhile then it came back and this time they said it was ball joints, tires, and my waterpump. Brought somewhere else was the steering stabilizer they fixed, ball joints where fine power steering was leaking not the waterpump. Never going here again would not recommend. read more

My service experience was anything but good. Brought in my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan with only 22K miles in for a simple warranty repair for one of the sliding doors (the door lock did not work). Problem fixed, however the technician forgot to install TWO removed parts and left them in the back of the van. A door wire harness was not attached as was dangling down, and damage was done to a weather seal. Brought the van back to fix the mistakes. Service writer said all was fixed. Nope. Now my van with 22K mikes has a crack in the large sliding door panel and the exterior weather seal was not fixed causing excessive wind noise at highway speed. Not bringing it back in for a third strike. Done with this place (for service reasons). Good Luck! read more

Sell a $45,988 truck no oil change, no def fluid, missing cap on side step, broken wipers, water damage on the ceiling, blood stain on the seat. First time I tow with it, service brake controller light comes on. Continually lied saying truck had shipped when it had not. Said he was out of the office via text then answer the phone at the office. Sale rep said I would be reimbursed and was not. Then said talk to his boss the owner Andy Strong when he gets back from vacation. Vacation paid for by all the people he rips off not doing his job. Andy Strong the little germ, maggot, weasel took 3 days to grow enough balls to call me back. Said I was ridiculous!!! Ya totally ridiculous to spend $45k + and miss work to service a truck I just bought. Worst Dealership Ever. Straight up shitty people. If you wanna get ripped off go there. My husband bought a 2014 Equinox from them in May of 2018. The front left tire area started making a squeaking sound (sounds like a noisy spring) shortly after purchase. It has a warranty, so when it continued to get worse, I brought it out for service and sat with my two young kids for two hours. They charged me $190 to look at it, and then told me there was nothing wrong, that they cleaned it up and lubricated something that it could have been, but that no repairs were necessary. The noise started again the next day and continued to get worse. My husband drove the vehicle for a week last month, and was so annoyed with the sound that he asked me to schedule another service appointment. I was told there would be a loaner vehicle ready at 7:30am, and that I could switch my car seats over and go. My kids ended up being sick, so my husband took it himself before work. There was no loaner ready and he ended up sitting there for four hours, only to be told that there was nothing wrong with it and that they re-lubricated something. He told them he doesn't want a vehicle that makes noise and that they need to figure something else out. He drove one of their vehicles to work (late), which we have now had for two weeks, while they try to figure something out. Now we are upside down on a vehicle that they sold us less than a year ago (for apparently much more than it was worth), and are being told it looks like we will just have to keep the noisy vehicle (not knowing if whatever is squeaking is about to malfunction or break). Very disappointed. Will not be referring any more business to this dealership. read more

We purchased a vehicle from Waconia dodge a year ago. When we went to trade it in at another dealership we were told it was worth half the price due to the branded title. A branded title we did not know about. After fighting with Waconia dodge for several weeks they ended up buying the vehicle back from us. They stated they also did not know the title was lemon law branded. However they now have the truck for sale again. They now cannot claim they did not know about it. And the branded title is STILL not disclosed. The truck is worth HALF the price of what they have it listed for. No dealer will take it if you plan to sell it or trade it in the future. So I showed up right on time at 9 a.m. this morning...only to find out, my appointment wasn't scheduled until next week! OOPS! I purchased one of the vehicles that were part of the Volkswagen Dieselgate settlement. I was told by the salesperson flat out that the next owner of the vehicle I was looking at would be eligible to receive the second half of the settlement ($2,500) that VW made with owners of the diesel cars affected by the settlement. With this in mind, I make an offer on the car and it was accepted. I purchased the car, filed my paperwork with VW and lo and behold, the entire settlement had already been paid out so I was due nothing (I am unsure if the dealership was the one who received this payout, but it was not me). This seemed like bait and switch to me. Now I own a car that is worth a lot less than I paid for it. Don't let the ads fool you -- they try to make this dealership look like a small town, honest, friendly, get-your-money's-worth type of place. It is anything but that.
