The Care they took to make sure everyone was comfortable, and A very professional service was provided with San Jose. The attention to detail made my brother looked perfect. I wish I didn't have to be writing this but that's life and we loose it sometimes. We weren't prepared had nothing ready, certainly not for a 13 year old, and thanks to them we couldn't have felt in better hand. His Funeral started at 4pm for the close relatives and I informed everyone else at 5pm - would end at 12 Midnight so at 11pm I promptly starting advising everyone to start saying saying their goodbyes as it's difficult to start doing it at 11:57 as the end of the night approaches, and we wanted a bit of extra time with him alone. Everything went smoothly and the day of his burial. The escort service was ready, the hearse was ready the director was ready, it seem that the only person not ready was my Dad which we couldn't find for a while. Turns out we were looking for each other around the building. Everything was on time and perfect until my brother was laid to rest and their services were over. I highly recommend if you're looking for that which nobody wants to look for cause it's tough, to go and see the guys there at San Jose Memorial Plan. The police suggested I call this place which I did. The first person Diane, who answered the phone was initially nice but then it became the worst nightmare! We had the church service nearby, hundreds made a procession through the rain to the cemetery, and to be turned back around because they didn't have a plot nor tomb ready for us. The cemetery didn't get paid by the funeral home and they wanted their money. We took everyone back to their office and had a VERY unprofessional conversation with the manager and owner(s). They expected us to pay again because someone in their office didn't document payment properly and didn't reserve a spot for my uncles body. Shouldn't someone have called or at least tell us at the church? It was pouring down rain and we had my parents along with many other elderly family members dangerously wading through water in their parking lot. Some had been sitting for hours and needed to use the restrooms and I ordered refreshments to hold us over (additional unexpected expenses). My father was the last living sibling of my uncle and all we wanted was to give my uncle a good farewell. Hours later we were able to get things worked out but it was not a pretty scene. I've complained with the BBB and governing bodies, however, people need to know what kind of business practices they're up against.
