Lodging ONLY POV review. Good: This is a Beautiful farm house. The esthetics are amazing for your insta and quaint place away from the town for some much needed relaxations. Can be better: So you pay "luxury" price because ofcourse it's a great looking farmhouse. But Amenities are super basic. Coffee: I didn't even know how to use that coffee machine and no creamers. No tissue box. No USB ports. I was afraid to use their towel because their rule book said, "will be charged" if there's stain or do anything else because everything had a potential "charge" The sheets were so thin I was afraid barely sleeping on them would make a hole, luckily no holes!! I am so used to staying at hotels and having these basic amenities, i thought they would be normal (my bad on not doing due diligence). But honestly if you are going to charge top prices, would be great to have some basic amenities like single serve coffee machine, creamer, or nicer sheets. Etc. Hope this helps someone to make a decision. Ofc these were my pet peeves, probably wouldn't bother anyone else. I was there to enjoy and not stress about little things! read more

I went to my friend's son's wedding and have mixed feelings about this place. The venue was absolutely gorgeous! The wedding reception took place inside the castle and was beautifully decorated. The wedding planner did an excellent job in setting up the venue. It was elegant and quite magical! I especially loved how we lit giant sparklers as the bride and groom exited to their car at the end of the evening. 5 stars for the venue and decor. The food was a different story....It was awful! All of the guests at our table who had salmon like me agreed it was so salty that it was inedible. We scrapped off the top and ate a little bit of the bottom. I ate mainly just the potatoes and bell peppers (my plate didn't have any zucchini, yellow squash, broccoli, or cauliflower like some of the other plates). Plating was bad, needless to say. The food was a disappointment, but overall, we had a great time. This was the most fun wedding I've attended in a long time. The castle was beautiful and the landscape outside was picturesque. It's the perfect place for a dreamy wedding, aside from the food. We were happy with the alcohol and dessert bar, so all is good! read more

This venue is stunning. The castle is dreamy, the farm house quaint. The grounds are beautiful and the vistas divine. The property rep is helpful and responsive--but she is bound by a number of regulations imposed by the owner. There are no real candles allowed in the castle---and that's understandable. However, given that every bride has to adhere to this policy, Wadley should offer some guidance on procuring the best of the faux options. Even with a wedding planner and florist, we had to do the leg-work and have them shipped from out-of-state. Since this isn't a hotel-venue, everything must be provided. Again, perfectly understandable. While Wadley has a list of recommended vendors--(planners, florists, caterers)--they miss on the little things. We needed to have my daughter's massive gown steamed on-site--they knew of no one--neither did the planner. I spent weeks having to find someone. This is an amenity that would be provided at a hotel venue---but not at Wadley. ( It's important to acknowledge the lack of these small but important amenities when making your decision.) But Wadley's biggest fail is in its handling of the out-time. While the rep was agreeable to extending it a bit--when the end of the night approached her team descended, started packing our stuff haphazardly and dropping it outside near the shuttles. Their approach forced us to miss the last 30 minutes of our daughter's wedding. As the last songs played, my husband and I were upstairs making sense of the chaos created by their team. It was an in-elegant end to a very elegant affair and in my mind, totally unacceptable. In short, Wadley survives because of its buildings and immediate surroundings. Nothing more. If you're having a large wedding with a lot of moving pieces, you need to recognize that hosting at Wadley can be a burden---it was even a heavy lift for our full-time planner. read more

The barn and railroad building is beautiful! But as someone who is looking for a wedding venue the experience of touring and asking questions was weird. The lady showed us around and told us we can go and wander the castle by ourselves. They handed us 2 papers that only say the price and the vendors they prefer. I later emailed and had a few questions about if there was a coordinator, state tax, gratuity fees, and what the venue doesn't include. Their response was very dry and seemed annoyed at all my questions. They ended their email with "We will have some trees in bloom, I never know what the flowers will be like in the early spring. We are the venue, you will need to do your flowers,food,music,and whatever you might need." Like, my bad I had questions. I also wasn't even looking at early springtime, I was wanting to book end of spring early summer! Every other venue answered all my questions and they were so kind. Not the case here. I almost booked here but I'd rather not deal with the passive aggressive attitude. read more

The venue is gorgeous. There are multiple locations on the property that you can choose to book. Overall a lovely atmosphere. The hosts, unfortunately, were unfriendly and rude. They seemed very bothered by any request for assistance and their tone when speaking with us was hostile and annoyed. Every interaction we had with them left us appalled and frustrated. It's very possible that it was just an off day for them, which everyone has sometimes. Hopefully this is not a common occurrence. read more

This place was interesting. My review is mainly for the staff & coordinator. I was a guest & had a odd experience here. The venue is beautiful & easy to locate but the wedding planner is not great. She rubbed the bride & groom as well as other guests the wrong way the whole time. Making threats to the bridal & grooms party not to make mistakes or messes like they were children. During rehearsals she had quite the attitude and tried putting me to work helping her hold doors & told me she would "lean on me needing help during the wedding" by rounding up the other guests & telling them where to go after the ceremony. What?! I'm a guest and didn't come to a wedding in another state to work it, I came to relax & support a couples vows & marriage ceremony (also to relax & enjoy myself). During the actual ceremony when the bride & groom were saying their vows the wedding coordinator walked from the back all the way to the front in her very loud boots on the loud wood floor. Everyone stopped & looked at her, she didn't even care. It was very distracting & so so rude. Several people mentioned this during the reception. Bar tender was rude. The staff sat around looking like they were gossiping about everyone. After the wedding was over and we did a sparkler send off she saw me & said "oh I was looking for you all night for help!" What?!!!! This was the weirdest thing. I felt so weird & couldn't wait to leave. My advice for bride & grooms: speak up with your wants & needs here. And make sure the staff don't stomp around during your vows so guests can hear you & enjoy the special moment. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

The grounds are so beautiful and everything about the event looked magical. If you have a large wedding, definitely add a wedding planner to your list. My even was hectic using just the host they provide. She tried her best and could have been amazing if communication was more clear, but there was a disconnect as the host is not assigned until the week of your event which does not allow for communication before your big day even though I requested it. I felt bad for her. It all came together, but some things were missed as as the mother of the bride, it was a very stressful experience. read more

Incredible venue. Incredibly inappropriate staff for an otherwise luxury experience. Witnessed and experienced outward aggression and verbal abuse from male security staff to both myself and a tiny latinx gal as guests. His parting words after suggestively blowing a kiss to our party on exit, was "thanks for letting us take your money". I helped with the food for a wedding held here and it was so gorgeous. Differently from what others have said in their reviews, I found the hosts to be extremely sweet and helpful. They were very proactive in helping with things and were very pleasant to interact with. I have been to many different venues and these hosts were my favorite. Me and my wife just did a beautiful reception here today! Everything looked beautiful, the landscaping, plants, and inside was very maintained and clean. Very fancy as well! Worth every penny! The place we used had a lot of indoor and out door space so guests can mingle or sit with out feeling overwhelmed by people. Beautiful entry doors, beautiful flooring, beautiful interior everything about it was gorgeous. Felt like you were in a place from beauty and the beast! It was absolutely stunning. I had my wedding at Wadley Farms a few years ago on May 31, 2018. Let me start out with the good: -The owner/manager was very sweet and professional. She showed us around and made us feel very welcome. -The grounds are SO stunning. Very beautiful and My wedding pictures from here are gorgeous. The bad, and the reason I gave it 2 stars: -When we had our tour, they convinced us that we didn't need a DJ because their sound system was amazing, and it was amazing when we took the tour. But when it came to our actual wedding day, they couldn't find the proper aux cord and instead used some old crappy one. Our music didn't work properly. It was scratchy and plain awful. The music completely stopped working before the reception ended. I literally cried on my wedding day because of it. If I knew that was going to be the case I would have hired a DJ no problem. It was poor planning on the host who worked there, and I 100% blame them because they false advertised their sound system. -The host who worked there on our actual wedding day had a MAJOR attitude problem. She was extremely rude and whined because she had to move a table over a little. Very unprofessional. IF you decide to have your wedding here, please do not rely on the venue workers for absolutely anything. (Keep in mind i'm writing this review 2 and a half years later and i've calmed down significantly) read more

I've never been more disappointed in a business until today. I've never written a review like this where the company or place is business is very unprofessional and very badly managed. We have tried contacting the manager and asked to speak with someone other than the representative that has been helping us but all we got was silence. I recently moved out of state and wanted to check this place out. We made an appointment in April so i flew into salt lake to check the place out. I asked to see if memorial day for 2020 was still open and they confirmed it was (i wouldnt have wasted my time or money booking a flight to see the place if the date wasnt available). We get these and we check the place out and tell her Susie we want the place. She told us specifically that they can only book in a year in advance. So we kept in touch with her and asked for the contract and told her we would give her a call first thing memorial day. We decide to call to see if we can come by again to get some pictures taken for memorial day weekend and get all our paper work done. Susie texts us back and tells us it has been booked. Mind you this is more than the year policy which she told us we couldnt get earlier. She even had the audacity to tell us that the people that booked it has been looking at it since april. Why wouldnt she mention that when i flew in to visit? I really hope things get better there because it would be terrible to ruin someone elses dream wedding due to carelessness and bad management. read more

I read the other reviews and because I was just a guest, I have no way of knowing if the Bride had similar problems mentioned in the previous reviews, but the venue is stunning. I had the worst customer service encounter in years with this business. Due to COVID our daughter's wedding was moved out of state and it no longer made sense to have a reception at this location. I called to inquire about a refund (or partial refund) of our deposit and was met with hostility. A partial refund of the deposit was made, but it did not make up for the unprofessional way this was addressed. I do not recommend using this venue. read more

I recently visited Wadley Farms and let me just tell you how amazing this venue is. If you ever wanted a fairytale wedding then this is the place to be. They have several buildings to rent for your special occasions. One of them is a castle. Yes, castle! They even have an Air-BNB if you ever wanted a romantic getaway. I was really excited to see grapes, apples and peaches growing on the farms. Flowers are bursting with colors everywhere! Wadley Farms is so beautiful! At night time the lights transforms the venue into an enchanted scene. Susie and the staff at Wadley Farms are so wonderful to work with. They were helpful with questions you needed answers to and they were so kind and friendly. I don't think I met anyone as nice as the staff here. Check them out. It's truly an amazing place to visit with the nicest people I ever met. read more

We held a wedding reception for our daughter at The Castle. I live in California, and as the mother of the bride, I was faced with organizing a wedding reception from out-of-state. The staff at Wadley Farms took care of every little detail for me, and the event couldn't have gone more smoothly. Everything from the catering, to the flowers, to the seating and decorations was perfect. The staff took care of many little details that I didn't even know were needed. For example, they provided a little birdcage for the gift table that guests could drop their cards into. They had cute chalkboards on easels where we could write a schedule of events ("Appetizers 6:00 p.m., Dinner 7:00 p.m., Cake cutting 8:00 p.m...") and on another one, we could write directions such as "Kids' Dress-Up Area Upstairs." The venue is designed well to accommodate lots of different kinds of guests. For example, the staff set up 12 dinner tables (10 chairs each) on the main floor, and then 3 additional tables (10 chairs each) upstairs. We had MANY children attending, so we put a kids' dress-up area upstairs complete with sparkly knight-capes, princess capes, Nerf swords and home-made shields. Without any prompting from us, the little kids spent most of their time upstairs, and their parents were able to sit and eat dinner in peace, near their kids, while their kids dressed up and fought with swords and protected the castle from dragons and other invaders. Meanwhile, the main floor stayed quieter for grownups. The staircases made beautiful areas for photos. In fact, the whole castle is so beautifully designed with natural wood and artistic iron work, that we needed very few decorations. Again, the staff was super helpful and took care of the little details, like decorations, so that I just needed to show up. For example, in the morning we dropped off boxes of kids' dress-up supplies, and the staff arranged a beautiful dress-up area upstairs with no additional help from me! I showed up at the reception and the staff had arranged swords, shields, crowns and tiaras on tables, set up a floor mirror, and hung up the capes on a portable clothing rack. I dropped off a box in the morning containing a sign-in book and photos of the bride and groom, and then when I arrived for the reception in the evening the sign-in/gift area was magically already set up! I worked with two different staff wedding planners over the course of the few months while we were planning the reception. I was able to pin down all of the details in advance, and the staff was willing to provide as much or as little help as I wanted. Some brides are very hands-on and want to do a lot of their own planning and decorating, and others are happy to have someone else do most of the work. My daughter fell into the latter category -- she didn't have time to worry about too many details, and because I don't live in Utah I was unable to take care of many of the details myself. The staff was wonderful and accommodating in every way. The on-site caterer, State Street Feed & Supply, provided delicious appetizers and a wonderful dinner and desserts, for an incredibly reasonable price. The caterer provided real dishes and real silverware also. (The food cost about a third of what we would have paid in California -- I love Craig and his catering company, and I love Utah!) We had planned appetizers, a buffet dinner, and then dessert, but then later in the evening, after the dinner buffet had been taken down, hungry college students kept spontaneously arriving! The catering staff was incredibly accommodating and quickly made plate after plate of food for the late-arriving guests. I would highly recommend The Castle at Wadley Farms for a formal or informal wedding, reception, dinner or other event! read more

Wadley Historic Farm was the first and only venue we toured when we were planning our wedding. In fact, we booked it the same day - it is that beautiful! On the grounds there is a two-story reception hall (The Barn). The first floor has two rooms - a front room that has a lot of architectural interest and detail (fireplace, staircase to second floor with wrought iron railing, gorgeous wrought iron chandelier, view of second floor balcony, pillars decorated with twinkle lights), and a back room that we used for seating for our guests. The back room has a fireplace, big windows, and a nice view of the grounds. There is also a small kitchen on the first floor. The second floor doesn't have space for seating, but there are tables that are an appropriate height for standing. There is a second building (The Railroad Building) that looks like a chapel, and can be used for ceremonies or a smaller gathering. There is a third building where the groom can get ready, and two rooms off of the building that houses the office (and is just as attractive as the reception hall) where the bride can get ready. The grounds are immaculate, and have an overall appeal, but also lots of attention to detail. Vines and ivy growing on the buildings, wrought iron, twinkle lights, a sound system that can be heard outside and in all of the buildings. There is a fountain, a pretty green house that has birdhouses in it, an orchard, a barn, and an old-fashioned truck. Lots of places to take great pictures, and lots of personality and rustic charm. If you book an event, the grounds are available free of charge for a photo shoot (just call ahead to make sure there is not a wedding scheduled on the day you want). That was a big perk! We had our engagement photos taken there, and were so happy with them! We were there a lot longer than we expected because there were so many great places to shoot! The staff was wonderful to us! Colleen Hardy, the manager of the property, was very helpful to answer our questions and give us suggestions, and the two staff members who were there the day of our event were very attentive. We have people comment to us all the time about how beautiful our reception was, and about how much they loved our venue. To be honest, we did very little by way of decoration. We just used some of the centerpieces that were already available, and added a few flowers. That is a venue that really does not need much help. We are so pleased with how everything turned out, and would recommend Wadley Farms to anyone! read more

Had my wedding ceremony/dinner here last night and it was absolutely perfect. We had no stress whatsoever and Nikki (sp?) was so great at keeping us on track and helping with whatever was needed. The grounds are clean and beautiful and they left us wanting for nothing. I loved the brides room as well. We used the railroad building and the gardens for our dinner- completely shaded by 7 pm. I'll post pictures once I get them back but we loved every minute of our experience with Wadley! read more

I booked a trip to come see this venue from Phoenix, and coordinated with Susie, the forgetful "wedding planner". Unfortunately, Susie "forgot to write down our appointment in her calendar." After we showed up to the venue, we were greeted by a confused young lady who laughed when we asked for Susie and said, "I am not surprised she missed your appointment, she's so scatter brained and super busy with Church camp. Maybe reach out next week?" and laughed. Susie overlooked our appointment, disregarded the fact that we were coming in town to see this venue, then asked if we had any follow up questions. How much worse could ones customer service be? Not a phone call to even apologize. If you want to feel worthless, forgotten, and unimportant, contact Susie at Wadley Farms. Wadley Farms was the most beautiful, magical venue we could have ever chosen for our daughter's reception. What princess hasn't dreamed of a reception in a castle? It was absolutely breathtaking! No need to really do a lot of decorating as the architecture is absolutely stunning. The huge fireplace, sweeping staircases and wooden beams make this such a gorgeous venue. I cannot wait to see the pictures! We were coming from out of town and to have everything "in house" was amazing. All of the linens, tables and chairs, were set up perfectly. We used the lanterns they had as center pieces with flowers and greenery around the base. Susie was our director and she literally was one step ahead of our needs all night long, so personable and easy to work with! Every time we called to ask a question about something, we were reassured that what we needed was included and would be available for us. We had a simple buffet, and it was excellent! Staff was there to clean up plates. It was amazing to just sit back and watch it all happen. As the mother of the bride I was able to thoroughly enjoy the night because literally everything was taken care of. I would absolutely recommend this venue and the staff. They were worth every penny! I am hoping my youngest daughter will get married in Utah so we can use them again! read more

The grounds and buildings are so beautiful and they put so much work into the upkeep of the facilities. They provide tables, chairs, tables cloths, and so many more other elements you can use for decorating. Our guests felt welcome and couldn't stop tlaking about what a great place it was. First off let me say this place is beautiful! I was super excited to have my wedding here and anyone would be lucky to have it here. But I gave it one star because the coordinator, Colleen, is a royal brat and that's saying it nicely. When I first called to come look at the venue she had no interest in having me come and kept making excuses for me not to see it. Finally I found a day where she is was available and that was a month out. We showed up this last Saturday and everything went smoothly and she was surprising nice that day. I was so excited because it was everything I wanted! So after the tour was over I asked when she would be available to schedule a day where I could come and sign all the papers and put my payment down to seal my date. She said I will be available Tuesday at 7. When I got there Tuesday she was with other people and so I just walked around the property and waited. Finally an hour after our scheduled meeting she came in saying "oh I didn't know you were still here! I was locking the gates and everything! Are you almost done I'm ready to go home." To which I replied saying well I've been waiting to sign the papers. And she huffed and said "well let's go then. Remind me your date again" I told her my date and she just looked at me and said "sorry I booked that this morning. Didn't know you were coming." And I just looked at her and said yes you did I told you Saturday I would be here at 7! She replied (in a very bitchy tone I might add) " NO I DID NOT, you aren't even in my book" I then asked her why she even told me on Saturday that it was still available and she said they just booked this morning. Not once did she even say sorry or even feel bad. She was just pissed off I was even there. So moral of the story. Be very weary of booking with Colleen. She obviously won't remember you nor will she care about ruining your perfect wedding. She is EXTREMELY rude and very unprofessional. I hope she feels happy about being the worst coordinator I have ever met and ruining everything!! read more
