Have you ever wanted to be trapped after hours in a strip mall? We'll then this is the place for you. No windows, no control over the thermostat and the bathroom vent runs all night long with no switch. If you want breakfast at this Bed and Breakfast, you have to text someone before 7am to get the food between 8:45 and 10am. It feels like a poorly decorated storage shed with a Jacuzzi tub and waterfall shower. The bed is comfortable, and the TV is huge. As long as you don't mind being subterranean, in the back of a building if a fire breaks out. read more

If I could leave a 10 star review I would! This place is amazing! The staff are some of the kindest people I've ever come across and have done so many things to accommodate us! I will come and make a reservation here every single time I'm in the area! The rooms are all unique and one of a kind with extravagant detail. The owner even surprised us with dessert in our fridge! Everything is so lovely and romantic! UPDATE: I came back again since I had to be in town and decided to stay in the Paris Suite (was in Rome prior) This room is just as beautiful as the last and I love the privacy. There is so much detail! I'm shocked at prior reviews because there are signs telling you what to do and how to check in if no one is there. BOTH times I was here there has always been someone at the front desk she just clicks out at 4 or so... who wants to stay at work all day anyway? Please try and give this spot a chance! What a JOKE! These rooms are just partitioned off in the basement of a strip mall. No windows, no thermostat. The walls and ceiling are cheap garbage material that's used in mobile homes. They tried to make some plaster effect in the "Maui" room by nailing leftover chunks of lumber to the wall and smearing mortar all around , it looks like something by a kindergartener. The area for the bed is so tight, you can't even walk in without catching a toe on something. The bed is TERRIBLE! We couldn't even hardly sleep. The tub faucet is falling apart, and the floor looks like there's puddles all over but it's just some cheap epoxy filler. It's seriously like being in the dungeon of some cheap horror movie, i keep picturing some creep walking around talking about "rubbing lotion on it's skin". Do yourself a favor, and go stay somewhere that's in better shape. Like West Wendover, or maybe a trailer out by the landfill. Also, the pics on the ad are misleading. This place is tiny. Also, there's NO DOOR FOR THE TOILET!! We're here on our anniversary, and we're going to both remember this one as the "WAFTING SMELL" room. Absolutely do not stay here! My wife were lured into staying here by the pictures on their website. Boy were we catfished. What was suppose to be a great first anniversary turned into one our worst hotel stays ever. When we "checked in" there was no one there to greet us or show us anything, just signs on how to get into our room. By the way, it's just the last four of your phone number you used to book the room to get into the B&B and into your room. If we weren't going to get a nice warm greeting it would have been nice to know prior to showing up and having to figure it out on our own. Won't lie, when we walked in we were blown away but that quickly fades. The sand is nice until you realize it's in most of the room and it's hard not to track it everywhere around the room. And it takes up half the room. The large tub is cool, and then you get in and can't even take a nice bath because the tub stopper does not work at all. Wanna take a shower? Too bad, the only way too is from a shower head that comes from the same height as the tub spout. It extends out, but there's no way take a shower with it without getting water literally everywhere. We couldn't find any fish in the fish tank until the second day. They all looked dead. The wine fridge didn't work. We plugged it in and all it did was beep and not work. The fridge is half the size of a regular hotel fridge. Have you ever watched your significant other taking a poop? Well this is the place for you. Surrounding the toilet it a see through bamboo floor that offers zero privacy to sight or smell. You can't control the temperature of your room. So I hope you like it cold. read more

WAY over priced. I wanted to take my wife to a nice B&B for our anniversary and the photos of this place looked good. I'm just lucky my wife is a good sport. I paid $187.76 for a one night stay (Cancun suite) and was very dissapointed. First, it's literally on the back side of a strip mall. Your room may actually share a wall with the storage area of the massage parlor at the strip mall. For $187, I expected a luxury experience. Instead, the room felt cheap and tacky. There were fake dead vines hung around the room, but not artfully. Like, there was a single strand hung over the fire alarm, and a few over the tub. It looked like someone hadn't cleaned up their tomato plants in their garden after the fall. The ceiling is dusty drop tile like you might have above your cubicle, and if you spend time in bed, you'll get to look up at it. The bed was clean and comfy, but the frame squeeked like crazy if you happened to move around very much. The tub was nice, but the hot water handle came off every time we adjusted the temperature and the fan vent above the tub was all dusty. The tap water was a milky white color, there's no windows (but maybe that's a good thing, since it's in a strip mall...). Breakfast was also very disapointing. We stayed from a Sunday to Monday. Since we were unimpressed we took off at 9AM on Monday. Crepes are supposed to start at 9:30 (and they probably did), but there's supposed to be continental breakfast available at all times. There was an empty/dirty milk pitcher, about 3 inches of orange juice left over from the previous day, a couple of babybel cheeses, a few pieces of fruit in a basket, yogurt... Frankly, the whole experience left a lot to be desired. It was not the romatic luxury experience we had hoped for. The experience was comparable to a Super 8. Clean, but unimpressive. read more

My husband and I chose this place to get away for a night for our 10 year anniversary. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I'm not sure about the other rooms, but our room the bed, and pillows were AWFUL! The bad was also VERY loud, if I rolled over in it it everyone in the place would know. Let alone use the bed for anything else! Super obnoxious bed, and uncomfortable accommodations led us to leave shortly after checking in. Sucks to pay that much to not stay! Feedback: better bed frame, mattress, and pillows! Also maybe fix the breakfast as the other reviews convinced us the breakfast was nothing to stick around for! read more

5th East Hall - Venues & Event Spaces Near Me - American Fork, Utah

The two best words to describe this place are awkward and disappointing. As we are not from American Fork, my husband and I had no idea what to expect and were both really shocked when our GPS led us here. It is literally located in, not near, but literally IN a shopping center. (As in instead of finding a Trader Joe's, you will find a B & B attached to a Cold Stone, 7-11, and Nail salon... so weird). Because it is in a shopping center and has been converted from a store into a hotel, there are no views. The windows are blocked to provide privacy from passersby, which obviously is needed, but it made for a very awkward ambiance to have no view and very limited natural light. As we walked up we also noticed that with the exception of the grass and a few bushes, all of the vines, flowers, and topiaries outside and inside the building were fake which just made the entire atmosphere extra cheesy. My husband is definitely a glass half-full optimist and very laid back, and in 10 years I can honestly say this was the first time I have ever seen him visibly embarrassed. He just kept saying "Well, this was not what I expected." Which made me feel sad that our special night out was being overshadowed by this very awkward location. We stayed in the Tahiti room, which was decorated really cute, had a gigantic soaker tub, and even a fun sandy entrance and in-floor aquarium. However decor is really the only part of our experience that I would rate as 4 stars. I'm all for privacy on a romantic getaway, but when paying $200+ for a Bed and Breakfast, I do not expect to be making my own waffles, and/or eating meats and cheese off of a plate covered with plastic wrap that has been chilling in a mini-fridge. The fact that there is no one at the front desk and you enter the building and your room with a digital code, combine that with the already pre-assembled breakfast, the whole place just gives off a very strange and unperson-able vibe. Maybe our expectations are to blame, but I would truly never recommend this place for a romantic getaway. If anything I couldn't wait to getaway from here. read more

I wish, oh how I wish, I had read the reviews before booking. My husband and I were celebrating our first anniversary together. The website itself needs major work. If you want to see the features or packages, it doesn't allow you to. When you call for additional information, no one ever answers. I mean EVER. I had called at least 5x between considering booking and actually booking. From what we COULD see, we liked the Tahitian suite best. The oversized tub, the stone walk way, the sand, the in-floor fish tank; All of it screamed tropical getaway. When you walk in, you are in awe at first. But the more you look around, your smile drops. The air conditioner on the ceiling is filled with dust, and some of the decorative pillows are stained. The tub was a disappointment. It took literally 2 hours of the water running non stop before I gave up on trying to fill it. The tub stopper is a joke. If you move too swiftly, BOOM. All that water and bubble bath product down the drain. Not to mention, the bathtub spout is broken as well. All in all, the thought is nice but it's WAY too cramped in the suite. You have no room to truly relax and enjoy a drink. Oh, and the bathroom. No. Just no. The toilet is in a bamboo shack, so you can make eye contact with your partner who is laying in bed in front of you. Gross. This may be ok for one night, but not a weekend getaway. We booked two nights, but left the second night. We basically ran out, we couldn't wait to get back home. We never had face to face contact with ANYONE here. No greeter, no one there during the day even. It's a bummer. We didn't think we'd miss or need the interaction, but it feels like the people who run this place don't care. Stay away. I surprised my husband with a impromptu stay-cation at this adorable bed and breakfast. We stayed in the Tahiti suite. It was beautifully decorated to make you really feel like you were staying in a suite in Tahiti by the sea. Our room had a fish tank in the floor and sand as you walked into the room. My favorite things were the huge luxury bath and the delicious complementary savory crepes you get in the morning. You could even watch a movie in the tub! The room was clean and the staff friendly. We had a great time! It's hard to for us to get time away with our twins at home. This gem is so close we will definitely be returning! Cant wait to try the other themed rooms, and to eat those crepes again! read more

HORRIBLE! Don't ever ever book anything here! We put down $1500 and due to COVID we can't get married or have any family come out because they are on lockdown and it would put them at risk! They offered to change our date for an additional $750 RIDICULOUS! My dream wedding and venue needs to be postponed till everything is safe and traveling is allowed. It's super sad that a company runs this way and I'm baffled they are so unwilling to work with us! We can't get married and have our family there so why would we have a reception! I have read many of the other reviews before posting mine because I was surprised to see as many higher reviews as I did. I think the reason is those that do not have experience with bed and breakfast places have nothing to compare it to, but those who have been to some good ones realize this one is severely lacking. Ok... where to begin. Location: As long as you stay in your room it's not a big deal when it comes to location, but when you leave your room to go for a walk or anything you are basically in a busy downtown area that's not really that nice to walk around. It's surrounded by a handful of fast food restaurants and a busy road, so we were not too impressed with that. Rooms: They are small, the pictures do not give a good perspective of how small they are. The toilet is out in the open with no door or walls around it... Not the most romantic thing in the world to do your business for your spouse to see... and smell. No windows to the outside world, kinda wierd not to have anyway to get daylight in, not to mention one way in or out with regards to any type of emergency. The rooms are right next to a reception center, and it seems like when they made the plans for the center they had some space that they didn't know what to do with so they crammed a bunch of rooms together, made them super small, and put a tiny reception area/breakfast area in. We didn't see another couple the entire time, and it's probably a good thing as the breakfast area was so small we could barely get our breakfast just the two of us without bumping into each other. The rooms were nice other than those things, and they seemed pretty private/sound proof. Breakfast: They did have crepes each morning but instead of asking when we would like to eat, they told us the crepes would be served from 9:30-10:00 only. So if we left earlier than that we were out of luck. We did have crepes one of the days, and they were ok, but definitely nothing special or anything to rave about. They had some self serve things like cereal, juices and yogurts, but no way to add water to the oatmeal unless you went to your room, used some water out of the bathroom sink, then came back out to use the microwave. The yogurts were all expired and the milk smelled like orange juice and tasted like someone put the milk into the jar after the orange juice without washing the container. The receptionist didn't arrive until 9 each morning and left sometime around 7 so basically we didn't see anyone that worked there the whole time we were there. Price: Each room is a different price, but not a single room is worth the price they were asking. With the amount of bed and breakfasts that are in this area you can pay less for a much better experience somewhere else... They are more expensive than better places in beautiful downtown Salt Lake, that has so many more things to see and is awesome to walk around. We will not go back here again. The staff was nice and helpful (if you ever saw them) and they do give you plenty of privacy, the rooms were clean and well taken care of. We enjoyed the tub in our room and slept well. Still not enough good things to outweigh the bad. I do think with a little work this has the potential to be a great place. read more

My wife and I stayed at this intimate little B&B on our wedding night and two night afterwards. It is very comfortable and quiet. The breakfasts were simple, filling and delicious. My concern's are these; the amount of money you pay to stay at a B and B and you are given a waffle powder to make your own waffles and a cheese tray. The location of this place is in American Fork surrounded by fast food chains and not conveniently located to anything of significance. I went to make coffee and there was a slick layer of perhaps biofilm inside the water canister. Overall, I would not recommend this place unless you want to see a cool themed room, but the price is not worth the atmosphere. read more

The address would not go into our GPS. We're from Davis County and not familiar with the area. First call for assistance went unanswered. Called another number from the site and it went to a former employee who now lives in Vegas. We finally found the place and were surprised to see that it was not a dedicated space. There was someone at the desk but she was in an appointment. No real greeting. The room was pretty. The round bed was sort of awkward. The food availability seemed slim compared to what was advertised. We woke up to a puddle on the floor and wet shoes. We mentioned it on the way out. The response was only "yeah that window leaks in the rain." No real apology or even sense of responsibility. The rooms are incredible and the breakfast in the morning is great because it's all in the comfort of your room. They provide you with a waffle maker and everything you need to quickly whip up some great waffles as well as a fridge with other breakfast items. I ordered my wedding cake through them after doing much research online for great looking cakes at a reasonable price. I found Wedding Dreamer/5th East Hall and went for a consultation. The people were nice, but we kept getting interrupted even though I had an appointment. I ordered and paid for the cake well in advance, and when I saw it right before the reception, I was disappointed. What I asked for was pretty simple, and it only slightly resembled the picture I gave them. It looked very amateurish and rushed. Stayed In the Maui room, the tub and shower were fun and I loved the theme. Fireplace and bed were very nice and romantic. The negatives were that the sink didn't drain, the water was white and I was afraid to drink it, and the TV only had local channels so we couldn't watch anything good . We had our reception at 5th East Hall in 2015. It was beautiful! Decorating, the cake, the flowers, were all incredible!! I just would not recommend getting catering through them. We did milk and cookies, I was very disappointed when we showed up to our reception to find STORE BOUGHT cookies!!! I mean oreos, those gross wafer bar cookies you can get a package for 99 cents, etc... I was incredibly disappointed after spending thousands on catering alone!! This place was wonderful, staff is friendly, and the rooms were amazing! They offer different themed rooms which we love the detail put in to make us feel like we were really somewhere else exotic... Very welcoming, peaceful, and an authentic quality (not cheesy at all like other themed hotels we've stayed at). Maui was great, and highly recommended, but any of them would be great I am sure as we did get to peek at the other rooms! Our room was comfortable and good in size, we loved the king size round bed, fireplace and big tv, oh and the waterfall shower was amazing. The floor was really cool, as it looked like a really cool water feature throughout which enhanced the cove/cave jungle feel of the room. They also had nice mood lighting which was a nice touch. Our room was clean, and also included a fresh breakfast upon arrival so that we could sleep in in the morning and enjoy it at our own convenience. These were some of the best waffles ever!!, we also got things like those cute boiled eggs on pedestals, yogurt, fresh OJ, and a few other snacky type things. The hot cocoa/coffee keurig machines were pretty cool too, so many flavors to pick from. We were lucky enough to be able to call in and add one of their romance packages. I think ours was called the Night of Romance which was well worth every penny. There were flower petals and candles throughout our room, we got treats, bath salts and lighting for the tub. I am amazed at the good reviews given to this venue on other review sites. I think the ownership counts on a trusting and forgiving "Mormon" community. My advice is go elsewhere and I will explain why. In two weeks we had two weddings. The second reception was held at the 5th East Hall so we have a direct comparison. A wonderful experience at Bella Vista in Lindon and a nightmare at 5th East Hall in American Fork. Nice looking venue with lots of promise, but mediocre service, poor communication, poor customer relations. I would steer clear of this place. Pros: Most brides looking for a reception venue are looking at the physical aspects of the venue. The 5th East Hall is an attractive venue and the setup has promise. The seating is not huge, but it can comfortably handle about 100 guests. It has a lot of potential and the location is convenient to the freeway. It is in a business area, but is surprisingly secluded and nice. The owner/manager is very business-like and sweet. Cons: I found the 5th East Hall/Wedding Dreamers to be understaffed and the service was well below expectations. The management attempts to run the adjoining bed and breakfast and the 5th East Hall with the same staff, even though they don't communicate that to customers/clients. The consultant was unapologetically flakey. She didn't communicate when running an hour late for one appointment and totally missed a second appointment. She didn't even apologize. The owner/manager apologized for the consultant, but was free in making excuses for the consultant while not taking responsibility for the actions of the employee. The consultant "only works 40 hours," indicating the consultant cannot be expected to respond in a timely manner. Why is this the customer's problem? The owner/manager apologized profusely, but also said their VERBAL promises were not binding. What? This is not what I expect from a consultant! The owner/manager is well-versed in what to say to customers without really taking responsibility. In reading past reviews, it is clear they always say "we are always looking to improve and we appreciate you working with us." Fine. But the comments from two years ago still apply today. There is little to hold the owners accountable. On other review sites, it appears those who provide negative feedback are pressured into removing or changing their comments. They can't do that on Yelp. If you are planning on a reception on a hot, summer day, this is not the place. During the reception line, guests were complaining about the heat. It was in the 80's outside for a 6 pm reception start, but the temperature inside was more uncomfortable. We asked about the temperature, but after searching for and finding someone who could help from the bed and breakfast, they could not adjust the air conditioning temperature. We had guests complain and politely apologize before leaving early. The owner/manager said they checked the temperature logs and it showed 72 degrees. There is no way the temperature in the reception hall was 72 degrees. Maybe that was the temperature in the bed and breakfast. The owner/manager then tried to say it would feel hot if people were dancing. The elderly folks who complained were complaining during the reception line. When we finally opened the doors, it was bearable. The venue put in complimentary add-ons at their discretion without communicating with the bridal party. This is fine until they try to use these unrequested/unagreed on/unnoticed add-ons as compensation for poor communication and service. The families of the bride and bridegroom were not going to allow this event to go up in flames so we all stepped forward to fill in the gaps for the poor communication and under-staffing. The siblings of the bride missed much of the reception as they attempted to find help. Totally unacceptable. Summary: The owner offered us a $375 refund, because we were unsatisfied. This amounted to 12%. I would recommend going elsewhere. I feel the business owners count on the trusting and forgiving "Mormon" community and the ignorance of young brides. Because there is a high demand for wedding venues, this venue can stay busy, but I would say your experience is like a "roll of the dice." For a once-in-a-lifetime event it is not worth taking this chance. We worked with the management of Bella Vista in Lindon for another wedding a week earlier and they were exceptional in performing as we would expect. We paid significantly less for a much better venue and experience. We had to find catering elsewhere, but we spent almost $1000 less in total and took home several trays of food, while having more guests in attendance. read more

When I found this reception hall I was so grateful because I was a bride with a very strict budget and this place was beautiful and provided me with all of the wedding day essentials. I thought that this was too good to be true and it ended up being just that. When preparing for a wedding its typical to visit the reception venue for several reasons and I noticed over time and as spring came that they didn't take care of their grass area outside, and they had many dead plants that made it look worse. It finally took me sending an email to them stating that I've noticed the dead plants outside and that for my reception I would like to bring my own potted plants to get the management to do anything about it and they were finally tending to their garden area the NIGHT BEFORE MY WEDDING. With the cost of a wedding "package" you get several things included such as: wedding bouquet, boutonniere, centerpieces, cake, linens and catering. I was thrilled to have all of this stress taken off my shoulders until I had to deal with the owners and their misunderstandings with each other an me. This is how I felt about each item on the list. Wedding Bouquet: My wedding bouquet ended up being beautiful, I received compliments from several people, but it wasn't what I had ordered I even sent a picture of what I want my bouquet to look like several times with the owner to make sure she got it right, she didn't. She was very opinionated and threw in what she wanted. I will give them this I was impressed with how well it did turn out even though I didn't want it. Boutonniere: Same issues as above Centerpieces: Turned out beautiful I was going for a simple elegant peach and gold theme and they fit the bill. Wedding Cake: This was the biggest disaster of all when I first ordered the cake it was from a picture of a cake they had done before with fondant. They warned me that my cake wouldn't look exactly like that but that they could do the scroll work by hand with the butter cream. I was okay with that UNTIL I walked into my reception and saw the most hideous cake I've ever seen in my entire life. They didn't do any scroll work they took a huge tip and just threw some "gold" colored icing on it. It looked rushed and terrible. Linens: They were beautiful, I had to pay a little extra for them though but I'm okay with that. Catering: I hear rumors from a couple guests at my wedding the the brownies that I ordered were good but they were WAY under staffed and were only able to serve 3 brownies at a time so most of my 200+ guests weren't able to receive one. Which is upsetting since I paid for 250 brownies ala mode. On top of all of that they were unable to the A/C working and all of my guests myself included were uncomfortably hot. Also they were unable to get the strings of lights working, I know this seems like a small thing but it was a big thing on my wedding list. Beware! We arrived a little early for check in. The website said 3:00 but apparently check in is at 4:00. Thankfully we were early and had the opportunity to witness what was going on. Upon arrival there was a large wedding party. We went to the front desk in the bed and breakfast portion of the facility. No one was available but there was a phone number to call. I tried to call but it rang to a phone sitting on the desk. While we waited we witnessed MANY members of the wedding party in all of the rooms, laying on the beds, rubbing their faces in the pillows etc. This went on for quite a while before I went searching for someone to help us. I found all of the staff in the kitchen area preparing for the wedding. The front desk person asked another staff member if our room was ready for check in. I promptly explained that it was not ready as multiple people were currently in the room and I would no longer consider it, or any of the rooms in the facility, clean and ready for guests. They apologized and said they would "refresh" our room. By this time I was so disgusted we requested a refund and cancelled our stay. The employee tried to explain that the doors had been left open while they were being cleaned but it was VERY obvious to me that ALL of the rooms had been left open for viewing by the wedding party. Even after people were told to leave because of "upset guests" the doors remained unlocked and people continued to wander through the rooms. I am confident had we not arrived an hour before they expected us we would have been booked into the dirty room. They called a few minutes after we left apologizing and saying they had "refreshed all of the rooms." I don't think they were honest about the rooms being left open to begin with so I question this also. Regardless, I expect when I book a room it will be cleaned and locked prior to my arrival and that other people won't be using it before I arrive. I paid for them to host a luncheon what a mistake! I paid for the sweet and savory crepes buffet for 60 people. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of food and the amount. The crepes were little not full size the chicken was the grilled chicken strips you get from Sam's or Costco, the salsa was from a jar, the peaches were canned and the berries were mushy like they came frozen. I was suppose to get lemonade with our meal I had requested normal lemonade when I made my reservation but when we showed up there was no lemonade and when they did bring it out it was pink Country Time no real lemons or real lemon juice. They also failed to add ice so the the lemonade was warm for a while to they finally got around to putting ice in. I was not the only one who noticed my mother-in-law mentioned that it was a Costco meal but I did not have to set up or clean up. I did not realize however that they would not change the table clothes from the luncheon before reception which the mother of the bride had paid for at the same location. I was not impressed with their food at the luncheon or that night at the reception, they also seemed to miss doing the little things that would have made the day go smoother for both families who had traveled to be in Utah for a wedding. read more
