Vince and his team of physical therapists are simply the best there is. From check in to departure, you know you matter to them. Everyone is very friendly, very professional, and very dedicated to getting you back to your normal. My body has been through some trauma and he and his team always get me up and running again. He has provided me with the tools to stop the pain when it starts so I won't end up right back in PT. I have always been very impressed by the way he interacts with his staff as well. He takes the time with them and actively seeks their thoughts and treatment input which, I am sure, is especially helpful for the interns. Wadsworth Family Physical Therapy has either gathered the largest possible contingent of incompetent medical "professionals" in one place that is humanly possible, or has created a perfect (though nefarious) business plan. My vote is for the latter. I was sent to this "practice" by one of the "doctors" at Family Practice Center of Wadsworth (another collection of quacks) after visiting their office with an intermittent ache in my shoulder. I was concerned that it might be something more serious than a simple muscle pull or pinched nerve. Instead of taking a route that would have instantly stifled my concerns (a simple x-ray or CT scan), the "doctor" there decided that I needed physical therapy, so he sent me to the practice in question. Skeptically, I complied. My first session had very little impact on me, one way or the other. However, after two sessions with the "therapists", I was in continual pain. The pain became so bad that I spent an entire beautiful sunny Sunday in bed writhing. They had taken my minor sporadic discomfort and turned it into continual agonizing pain. Foolishly, I went back to their office one more time. After this last session, they had managed to expand the range of my pain to both shoulders. Needless to say, I have not been back again. I am slowly recovering from all the damage they did, and hopefully will be back to where I started in a few weeks. The reason I chose "nefarious business plan" as what was behind my experience is the reaction I got on my second visit when I asked "P.J." (one of the "therapists") what this was going to cost me. He didn't answer my question. All he did was pull out my folder and review my insurance coverage. His interest obviously wasn't with either my ailment or my financial concern, but rather how many $e$$ions they could get out of me. Here's his answer: 3. And that was three too many. My son badly sprained and fractured his ankle. After four months in a boot it hadn't recovered. A sports medicine doctor recommended surgery. Before going that route we tried physical therapy. Vince Whalen and the team of physical therapists at Wadsworth Family PT were brilliant. Over several weeks, they were able to fix his complex problems and he was able to return to Division 2 college cross country running a few weeks after that. It has been two years now and his ankle has never given him any more trouble. Moveover, their customer service is fantastic. There is always a positive, happy "vibe" at the facility. We are never kept waiting and they do a good job staying on top of insurance issues so little or nothing comes out of our pocket. Wadsworth Family Physical Therapy has great friendly therapists who are experts on neck and back issues. I was a patient there for 6 months for vestibular therapy to deal with a dizziness issue that had settled in my neck. The therapy they had me do began helping with my symptoms right away. Now, after 6 months, I still do some therapy at home, but my symptoms are mostly gone. I had tried many other doctors who could not help me.
