Excellent quick stop. Service was friendly and attentive. Restaurant was clean. And our meal was terrific, affordable and served fast.

On October 30, my brother and I went to this Waffle House. It was obvious that it must have been a training day because our waitress did not have a clue...brother ordered coffee, she brought him an empty cup, her helper got his coffee. We placed our order, both were wrong. We had ordered grits instead of hash browns, we both got hash browns. He ordered sausage, I ordered bacon. His sausage was burned and paper thin, burned all the way through. My bacon was under cooked and floppy. It was not a good experience. His waffle didn't come out until we were almost done eating what we could. I took my granddaughter to eat there Saturday since the one closest to home was packed, not even waiting room so we drove to Blythewood. I must say, the service was great, the food was great even if we did have to wait a while. That was a great experience compared to October 30, which was a disaster. read more

Today I stopped by here on my way home. I wanted a hash brown bowl. There was two waitresses, and one cook. The waitress that took my order was really kind. As I was walking in the door, she was speaking and asking me would I be dining in or carrying out. There were already people dining in. This one cook was handling his business. He was still cooking food for an order previous time my arrival. He jumped on mine immediately. The one waitress picked up the order to deliver it. Although this is not the ideal situation, they managed well. I gave the cook a tip and told him I appreciated him. He took off his gloves, thanked me and told me to have a great day. Yep, I tried another one. Wanted something other than all the other chains around. This looked exactly the same as the other one. From the parking to the china. It too was edible food. The employees were very nice. If you are looking for some eggs and waffles this is a fine place to come, at a reasonable price. The parking is easy, the employees are friendly. Food was subpar . Good not grand , quick and easy . Although not a selection of varieties. Service was slow and not welcoming from hostess who went to the store and left just the cook in before we could even pay for checkout (luckily we had cash and not card ). As far as "ambiance " goes , tables were not cleared and been left sitting even when I had left. Should be noted this was around evening hours and not crowded at all (less than 4 people ). read more

Was a great little place. Nothing special, but I wouldn't give it three stars, deserved four. Food was good and out quickly. Nothing crazy or special. OMG!!! Quella is not here!!! The crew is not here!!! This crew took a little longer than ever...but back to the review I have been "about to" / "finna do" for the longest... Quella, Taisha nor Kisha were/are all Top Notch servers/Waffle House staff...(not sure of all of their statuses) But to go in on Tuesday night and not see any of them felt different, it did not feel as welcoming...I appreciated the friendly banter, not from Quan, he was quite. Quella was always the life-giver to the staff/shift )from my perspective)... I loved her energy. She seemed to know almost all of the mature customers and what they wanted. I would listen to her interactions and was always impressed on how she "remembered/knew" so much about guests in her section and in other sections! My brother came in from out of town and commented on her energy. She was a joy to watch. If they are all indeed gone, they are/will surely be miss. read more

We are regular customers at Waffle House throughout SC as we travel often. We have never had an experience like we did this time. There were only a few customers in the sitting area and more disturbing was the the other customers ... fowl language and being more than loud where our daughter could hear. No regard for other customers experience or eating pleasure. And no employee stopped them. The food was over cooked. The cook didn't check to see how it was. Maybe we are spoiled by all of the other WH we visit but this experience was the worse. Makes us appreciate the others kind words when you walk in the door and assurance of our order is correct and taste good. At least 8 employees hanging out and laughing and talking like they are at a social event. Is this a place of business? A restaurant? Happy Hour? They could be working all day long cleaning this nasty Waffle House instead of all the playing around. The Manager sat at the short bar balancing tickets and looked to be uninterested in the atmosphere his employees were creating. This was obviously a change of shifts as several employees left once I spoke up and said something. A new waitress, "Q", arrived at our table and she was on top of things. I must admit that I've been to quote a few Waffle House restaurants in my day and the majority of them were ok as far as appearance but sometime they still made you want to cringe however, the A rating of this particular location was well deserved. I never on my life saw such a CLEAN Waffle House. You could literally eat off the floor in there. You would've thought it was a new building or something. They kept the food prep area very clean and mopped and very friendly servers and cooks. The bathrooms were sparkling clean and you can tell that whoever manages this particular location pretty much meets the standards to receive such a grade. I ordered the All Star breakfast with an orange juice. Food was excellent quality. Nothing was burnt on my plate. From the scrambled eggs to toast, bacon and sausage and even the single waffle, it looked better than the picture on the menu. The taste was incredible and serves piping hot. If I ever return down to the Columbia, SC area again soon which I will, I definitely know where to go for such good service and food. The only reason why I didn't give this store five stars was because an employee that was working there was about to shift out and her daughter was there. She was a toddler. I found it a little disturbing for one to constantly yell at the little girl while she was calculating her receipts and complaining that someone didn't do their cleaning up job and other things before their shift was over. I truly believe that people who work there should still maintain some kind of respect of their surrounding customers. Who knows. With just one customer, it took a good 5 minutes to be asked my order. It took 30 minutes to get scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. One of the other servers was sleeping in the corner. They make the best hashbrowns! The cook got my eggs sunny side up and perfect and my toast was nicely tanned. The coolest thing was that the staff was extremely friendly and upbeat. The only reason for talking points is that the owner needs to have the vents cleaned I don't think they would pass OSHA standards and it was hotter than Hades in there today. read more

Stopped to get out of the rain and Waffle House is always a favorite, even when we're home. Service is pathetic. No one waited on us for about five minutes and when they did it was another ten minutes before one out of four of us got our drinks. It's been twenty minutes and still no food or the three other drinks. Not the quickest or brightest bunch of workers, surely not what we expected from a Waffle House. Although it is Waffle House and there are other locations I frequent, this location is severely outdated. The furniture and decor need to be replaced with something fresh and new. The refrigerators may need to be checked as well since my chocolate milk was approaching room temperature instead of cold. My wife's unsweet tea tasted at least a week old if not older. She did not drink half of one glass. The cook was cooking too many orders at one time which made food delivery slow. read more

We stop at Waffle House on every single road trip - it's a tradition! This one was just "ok". Our waitress was very friendly but wasn't wearing her hair net, didn't check up on our drinks, and just seemed like she didn't want to be there. The over easy egg was more like an uncooked egg. My husband and I were looking forward to breakfast. Waffle House typically has great omelettes but this one was not. I asked for flat grilled and it was but with only 2 eggs. I also asked for cheese and sausage, they put one piece of sliced cheese and maybe one sausage patty!!! The music was way loud!! The country ham was great! My husbands tea glass was cracked all the way down. We will not return , I now know why they had a 3 star rating! The counter was dirty after being wiped along front edge. The parking lot was filthy! I'd like to start off with, if I could go less than 1 star I would! Service is atrocious!!! Cleanliness is ALWAYS questionable!! The last three times I've been here were a nightmare!! But this last time took the cake!!!!!! As there were six of us, we made due with one booth, as some of us finished, a server ( not ours) came by with a trashcan more than halfway full of garbage, placed the trash can beside me and started scrapping the plates into it, disgusting!!!! As I asked her NOT to do this beside me, she continued!!!! RUDE and GROSS!!!! She then dropped the plates on me and her, I grabbed them before they hit the floor and broke, handed them back to her and said again, can you please NOT do this beside me??!!!
