Cracker Barrel is one place that the food always seems pretty consistent in flavor. Which I like, at least the things I eat there. Came here not for the food but for the jewelry. Talk about a great bang for your buck. The shop is so cluttered I always just past through quickly. The service here was stellar while not standing over me annoyingly. The store was a normal CB and looked like a warehouse of random things threw up.... We wanted to go to Cracker Barrel since we haven't been to one in a while we decided to check this one out. They have a very big parking lot so parking is not a problem at the time at least when we got there which was about 5:00 on a Saturday there's plenty of spots available. When going inside you enter there Country Store with lots of awesome things if you choose to purchase we decided to look at the items. Everything was very well placed and neat. We then walk through to the restaurant spot to have dinner. The hostess was very pleasant and friendly to us. There was no wait our waiter was also very attentive he said he's only been there for 2 weeks but with only having two weeks he was spot on with things. The place was also very well clean and taken care of. We decided to have breakfast for dinner. They have a menu that you can purchase breakfast anytime many different selections with options to choose from. But if you desire you could have a regular dinner or a sandwich. I decided to have a dish called Mama's pancakes I believe that what's it's called. It had three pancakes two eggs and a choice of bacon two pieces or two pieces of sausage. It was very delicious also they had an option that you can choose if you desire of sugar-free syrup which is what I picked. They also serve hot rolls or cornbread or if you want both they can do that as well complimentary. They have a Rewards program that you can earn points for money off your meal or even free appetizers or meals. I also decided to have the peach cobbler for dessert. Which was the worst peach cobbler I ever had but I cannot blame the waiter apparently there was a problem in the kitchen with things from the kitchen help and they apparently do not know what they're doing with this item besides that everything was very good and delicious. read more

The biscuits were burnt, it took over 45 minutes after the time we were quoted for pickup for the food to be ready, and to top it off: when we got it home and I was eating my scrambled eggs, I pulled several large pieces of egg shell out of my mouth, making them inedible I know it's Mother's Day and the restaurant was busy, but the food quality shouldn't suffer because of it. read more

We use to order from this restaurant all the time sadly the service has gotten so bad. If you call no one will answer the phone it just rings and rings. If you order online for pickup or curbside the order is always wrong and/or missing some of the order. I'm so tired of having to explain what is wrong and they (management) does not want to correct it or give me my money back for what I did not receive. I hope they realize that this is stealing when you don't get the items that you paid for. Now to the food - I ordered seasoned rice on one of the meals and it was so hard and brown that you could tell it had been sitting there all day. Is there no one there that is over seeing this food? I know that dhec requires food to be thrown away after a certain time but it was obvious that the rice was definitely overlooked. It was so bad that the rice was in precooked form then cooked form and then after sitting for hours went back to precooked form. Then we have the missing vegetables and some out of stock as written on the receipt but no one let me know when picking it up that I needed to pick another vegetable. And then a 20% tip is requested. After all the flap in the media about Cracker Barrel's logo change, we decided to be fair and give them a try again to decide for ourselves. Our experience was very disappointing! There were only 7 tables occupied, but service was super slow. Our simple breakfast order took almost 15 minutes to arrive. The grits were clumpy and lukewarm. Didn't even melt the butter. Hash browns were only like warm too. The biscuits were much smaller than in the past and the sawmill gravy was limited. We had to ask for an extra bowl. This visit confirmed to us that the stories of Cracker Barrel's decline are warranted. Nothing was better than mediocre now. Not worth returning anymore. They have gone over the cliff. read more

You know the CEO wanted to change the sign and interior. After all that uproarhad settled, we decided to stop at CB and give it a try. Once again, the root of the drop in foot traffic is Service & Quality of food when served. We ordered grandma's sampler and biscuit & eggs with sausage and hash browns casserole. Here is my complaint, because pretty much all CB's will be a cold environment for the workers. 1. The scooped butter on pancakes are very chilled and does not melt when pancakes are not hot. 2. Hashbrown casserole was cold. 3. For $13.00 the sampler meat has gotten smaller. The bottom line for $30.00 for breakfast and both plates were cold, we just asked for to go plates and will heat up once we get home. The CEO needs to focus on delivering fresh HOT food to the table. If the cook puts it on counter and waitress doesn't get for 5 minutes or more, then your screwed. As much as I would like to support CB your making hard to justify the $$$ for a cold breakfast. The Mommas Breakfast I had ordered was very hot and absolutely delicious. The pancakes were light and fluffy with butter and syrup, the eggs were fried hard just how I like them, and the turkey sausage was chewy and still hot. My family of 4 plus a five year old went to supper on 5/19/25. Few patrons there and still a 15 minute wait... no biggie but after we were seated and orders taken, they were out of what I wanted (Campfire Chicken) so I ordered something else (Campfire Roast Beef). They were out of the second thing I ordered so I ordered something else. signature chicken sandwich....It was dry and tasteless but I did have the Nashville Hot sauce to dip it in.....WOW was it salty so I asked for another sauce but nothing could salvage that sandwich. By this time we had been there almost two hours. I complained to the manager and he really couldn't have cared less. He said "you could have told your server" and I said "really?? and stay here another 45 minutes waiting on my meal". I told him the food was marginal at best and that the other Cracker Barrel had really gone down hill and I was sorry to say that this one had too." Ordered meatloaf with a loaded potato and corn. Also a salad with a large sweet tea. Warm homemade biscuits were also included. Many times when you order takeout, somethings missing, but not with my order. Everything was very good tasting and hot, with the exception of my sweet tea and my salad lol. Came on December 31st around 2ish and the place was fairly busy, but nothing extreme. Took about 15 minutes to be seated at a table. My boyfriend and I both ordered pancakes. He also got eggs and bacon, which were super crispy and almost burnt. I added some chocolate chips into my pancakes. The pancakes were definitely the star of the show for our meal! I had been seeing a decline at this particular place over the last year or so. Servers didn't seem to stay there long and meals served weren't consistently good. I gave up going for awhile and then just last week decided to go back. Well I did ask not to be sat with the same server who was very nice to us but proceeded to not deliver our order timely. Breakfast took 2 full hours and the toast came after the bill. Anyway, on this visit I was sat with a most efficient server, Taylor and she and the cooking staff did an outstanding job. Bad experience at Cracker Barrel #0448, 2300 LeGrand Rd., Columbia, SC, off I-77 just north of the I-20 interchange, 7/20/23. For over 40 years, when on the road, I've looked to Cracker Barrels along the highway for solid comfort food on long trips. For the last several years, though, food quality, quantity, and service seem to have gone downhill. Nevertheless, this Thursday, I was hungry, on a 7-hr drive, and coming up on the food desert of the I-20 stretch from Columbia to Augusta. So I pulled off I-77 in SC just before getting onto I-20 to head home to Georgia. The food and service were so poor I hope I never forget not to try this one again, and possibly not any more Cracker Barrels. It was midafternoon and only four tables were occupied as the hostess escorted me in. I asked for one of the empty tables by the window, because I wanted to read during lunch and wanted good light and table top space for an open book beside my plate. She told me she was sorry, she had to seat me according to the servers' table assignments. She put me at a dinky table in the center of the room. I started to read while waiting for my server. It took her so long to come, I completed an entire chapter of a novel (14 pages) and she still hadn't come. I was craning my neck to look toward the kitchen to see if anyone on the wait-staff was working. Just as I was thinking of going back to the hostess station to tell her "Nobody seems to be working my section of the dining room today," a server appeared. She took my order, brought water and coffee, and disappeared again. The flatware pack contained only a knife and fork, no spoon. I turned around to look for my server again but she was nowhere in sight. You'd think when serving coffee, they'd bring a spoon with it, right? I guess not. The alternatives for stirring my coffee seemed to be my fork, my knife, or my finger. I chose the knife. I went back to reading, my stomach rumbling during another prolonged wait, and finally she appeared with my plate of roast beef and gravy, hashbrown casserole, fried apples, and cornbread. The casserole and apples struck me as tiny servings compared to past years. Even slathered with butter, the cornbread was so dry that after choking down half a muffin of desiccated crumbs, I didn't want to try any more. But worst of all, the roast beef was so overpoweringly salty it was barely edible. I ate just enough to not feel hungry anymore and left about half of it on my plate. Sad. The CB roast beef used to be one of my favorite highway comfort foods. Scratched off my list now, along with another long-time favorite, the chicken and dumplings (which no longer has much evidence of chicken in it--just a bowl of spongy dough-balls in gravy the last few times I tried it). My server was pleasant (if inattentive), but the best tasting part of my meal was the water. (I'll give second place to the apples, I suppose, but they were scanty.) I'll be looking harder for alternatives to Cracker Barrel the next time I make this trip. Convenience store carry-out would be a lot better. Some of my friends would say "That's what you get for going to a Cracker Barrel in the first place." Sadly, I've started to think they may be right. read more

I have a child stomach so got the kids tenders and fries. The tenders were inedible. Very chewy and hard, as if they are just being left under a heat lamp all day until their needed.
