Last time I was in a Waffle House was over 15 yrs ago. My granddaughter adores Waffle House and enjoys going after every gymnastic competition. The food was barely edible. The service was terrible (employees on video calls right behind us). The bread smelled like yeast, butter tasted off, sausage was hard as a rock and eggs were rubbery. I had asked if I could have a mushroom omelet. The omelet had zero mushroom but lots of onions. I was afraid the return it as who knew what would happen if I did. After eating waiting for the single bathroom, an employee walked out I could not hear the water running nor the hand dryer being ran. As we were saying goodbye in the parking lot we could see the employees pointing and laughing at us. Not really sure what it was about or if the terrible food and service was intentional. Making people sick intentionally especially children is not a place I would ever go to or support. We all ended up throwing up further down the road in different rest stops on the way home. Saturday, October 18 at 11:00 am, my wife and I stopped for the first time in this rather new Waffle House for breakfast. It was packed and very busy. While we waited for a table to clear, my wife and I both commented that we had never seen so many staff working behind the counter of a Waffle House, and we have eaten at many Waffle Houses across the US on tour. There must have been 8-10 team members standing shoulder to shoulder preparing food. And everyone was hustling, there wasn't anyone just standing around doing nothing. As we were waiting for our table, we looked around the restaurant. It is the standard Waffle House layout with one big improvement. It seems the booths have more "belly" room than older Waffle House stores. That is a smart improvement considering the "growing" American population. In about 7 minutes the table busser cleared two chairs at the counter for us and we sat down and placed our order. Our server, though busy, was extremely friendly and professional. She took our order, got us coffee and away she went. We sat and watched the team working together like a well oiled machine. The Manager (?) was elbows deep in the work and calling out the tickets and keeping things organized. She also continually thanked her team and shouted out encouragement to them. I couldn't figure out why they were cooking so much food as the entire grill was filled with a stack of more tickets. I then realized they had a huge number of phone-in orders. The sheer volume of orders called in for pickup made it a little slow getting tables in the restaurant served as they were cooking first orders in first orders out. But as I said, not one employee was slouching, they were all working hard and moving fast. Our food eventually arrived and we were not disappointed. We are huge Waffle House fans and this food was delicious. It was definitely worth the wait. And Kudos to the entire restaurant team, they worked hard! One recommendation I would make is to have the table busser during peak times to grab a coffee pot and refill cups, or refill other drinks to help out the servers. Other than that, I'd say the team did well. I highly recommend this location, and remember, thank the team for their hard work serving you. They do appreciate and deserve it. Absolutely nasty! This is a fairly new location. Every table was dirty and the staff looked at us like we were crazy when we walked in. After waiting for a clean table, the waitress wiped it off & knocked all the dirt & crumbs to the floor, under the table. Next to our table was a dirty mop where they scooted up dirt! On line order, came to pick up, how this staff is in anyway offering customer service is beyond me. Owner take note, your people are rude. They also can't seem to read the on line orders properly, seeing that they forgot the added sides of Bacon and Grits we ordered and failed to complete the all star order with the waffle. New Waffle House that recently opened near our home and I was actually highly impressed with the service here! The employees were very friendly and the food was quick but not rushed, which is unusual for me and my past experiences with Waffle House. Our waitress was very helpful with ordering. The restaurant was one of the cleanest Waffle Houses I have ever been to. We ordered the plain waffle, which was delish and hit the spot. The egg and cheese sandwich was great as well. The woman working the register was mid text on her phone last night when I walked up to place a to go order since I was told on the phone they don't do phone orders. The lady looked at me and back to her phone laying flat on the counter texting, I stood there silently and she said "I'm listening " ok I then ordered and she proceeded to send 2 more long texts then moved from the phone to the register. I placed a Togo order as usual, and when I checked it I told the Togo specialist that it was wrong. She proceeds to go get my order that she had written down from when I ordered it over the phone and she read it out to me. I said yes that is what I ordered but my order is incorrect. She then pulls it out of the bag and says "here is your grit bowl, here is your hash brown bowl"........ I look at her and say ma'am the order is wrong she the. I was visiting my sister and she brought me here for breakfast. Our waitress was efficient and personable. Our concern, however, was the lack of enforcement of customer mask wearing. It is clearly exhibited on the entrance door that customers are required to wear a mask unless eating. While we were enjoying our breakfast a family of 5 adults and a child over 2y.o. arrived.None had masks and were not approached by staff to do so. As we were finishing two men entered the restaurant, again, without masks. They were seated and remained mask- free. We were in the mood for some breakfast food for dinner so we went there on Sunday night around 8:00. The restaurant was filthy and there was only one employee there (who was not wearing a mask btw). We were the only customers there and every table was dirty. Eventually 2 employees others showed up (only one of them wore a mask) and we finally got waited on. The waffles were over cooked (dark brown and crunchy) and when we asked to have them redone we were told that this was the only way they could be cooked. This was honestly one of the worst experiences I've had at ANY restaurant. Generally I have a good experience at this location which is why I'm choosing to give 2 stars instead of 1. Upon my entry I saw a sign saying "no cards. Cash only. Sorry for the inconvenience". Not an issue. I went to the gas station and paid the ATM fee to get some money for the food (keep that in mind). Once I get back into the restaurant my experience then takes a nose dive. First the cashier decides she wants to take the order of the people behind me. Both of us were ordering take out and being that they were a party of 4, you can imagine how long it took to take their orders in as I continue to wait. Inconvenienced, but Also Not a deal breaker. As I watch the cashier take their order, I see one of the gentlemen pay with a debit card. At this point I'm LIVID. You have a sign up that says no cards, and I have now paid EXTRA just to get cash. The lady at the register goes on some sort of break after taking that party of four's order, Comes back with an attitude, and takes my order. I'm still calm and ultimately decide to let it go since this isn't the usual. I get my food, and go home ready to eat only to find that my waffle is not in the bag!!
