Decided to try out this Mexican restaurant for something new! It's super cute inside and the food was delicious! They also have great specials. I can't wait to come back and try their drinks! We went for lunch and had the guacamole. It was fresh tasting and a good portion. The Thursday lunch special was Arroz con Pollo which I got. It was the perfect portion and very flavorful. My sister got a chicken burrito and it looked so good. We tried the caramel churros for dessert. They weren't overly sweet but just the right amount. read more

This was the most well prepared to-go food I've ever had!! We got chips & queso. a steak burrito, and the Hawaiian chicken fajitas. They have the best tasting salsa and queso around town, but there is something to be said for properly packaged food you take home. They give you all the "extras" in their own containers. Enough salsa that it matches what you would get if you dine-in and got an extra round at the table, plus extra chips. My burrito was so good and enough for 2 meals. The same with my wife's fajitas (which aren't pictured because we were starving and smashed them). I'm a bad Yelp user who loves to read all of your reviews and doesn't write enough of my own. Our first visit today & we really enjoyed it. The decor is very modern , & pretty with bright festive colors. I appreciated having our meal by the great Frida Kahlo. The service was attentive. The food was reasonably priced & tasty. I haven't had a fried ice cream in years , and theirs is delicious and brought back happy memories. Coco just opened up on Monday and so glad to have another new addition to the Mint Hill neighborhood. Family owned and operated I believe and you can sense that upon walking in and being greeted very warmly. Decor and everything is brand new and very clean as well. Service was speedy and food delicious. I had the ChoriPollo which was chorizo, chicken and melted cheese - so good I couldn't wait before taking a picture! Got the lunch special "burrito mexicana". Burrito had extremely watery and bland pico smothered on top whose juice puddled up next to the rice and beans and made everything less enjoyable as it dripped off the plate. Asked for avocado on the side and was charged $5.00 for half of one (ouch), they didnt even bother to remove the navel where the stem attached (nasty). The ground beef was tasteless and under salted...not even very warm either. The sour cream was watery....also gross as it further mixed with the pico water. Best part of the meal was the free chips and salsa, the mild salsa is great honestly. Waitress was ok, not overly warm....maybe her shift was ending and she was trying to go? This was the second time I came here and the last. Every time I come here, the food tastes so bland. The birria tacos tasted like nothing but heat. The worst part is a lot of the stuff is overpriced. I'm blown away that a side of guacamole is $7. Did they get the avocado from Eden's garden?? I could buy 5 whole avocados for $7 and they didn't even give me half an avocado. The tacos were $18, asked for extra onions but didn't get it, the coke was $4 and it wasn't even the high quality one. I asked for hot sauce because I couldn't eat the tacos without something to add flavor not to mention the tortilla was completely falling apart but instead they gave me mild salsa and when I asked the waiter again, I was given salsa again. I came in this week as I was anxiously awaiting their opening! It was not super busy and it did take a while to have a server come to my table - however, since they are brand new I expect these type of challenges at first. They provide a basket of chips to start and two salsas - one mild and one spicy. Both were very good and I used the spicy one to top off my dish. I was excited to see Sopes on the menu! I ordered the carnitas and they were filling and delicious. I definitely plan to be back soon as there are a lot of other menu items I'd like to try. read more

Fresh fruit for Margs! So great to finally have a place in Mint Hill that squeeze's the fruit upon order. I got the flight of Margs and each one was very good, guava being my favorite. The food was great as well. We ate every bite and was very happy to have a tasty Mexican restaurant in Mint Hill. The service was very good which is great to see for a restaurant that just opened. So excited a friend spotted this newer mexican restaurant! Easy to find at the end of a strip mall and no issues at all with parking! Was greeted immediately and sat at the bar while waiting for a friend. The bartender was very friendly and served me chips and salsa right away along with my drink. It wasn't too busy at 6pm on a Tuesday night but quickly picked up and was quite lively by 6:30! There's a decent amount of seating and booths, but definitely on the tight side so they could fit more in. Our service was great and attentive, which seems rare nowadays! I ordered the flautas which were delicious and my friend a burrito. Portion sizes were good, although if you are wanting the typical rice and beans, you need to order as a side unless otherwise included. The margaritas looked excellent, although I opted for a beer! Also, the guacamole was super fresh and fantastic portion for what you pay. Overall, great find and I most definitely will be back! read more

Okay i will be honest, I am not a big fan of Mexican food, just not my thing and I have only had the cuisine few times before trying Coco. This place was discovered by my daughter so need to give her all the credit. All I am going to say that what ever they sprinkle on the food has me hooked! Super nice people, great menu, wonderful service. The food was priced well with good portions and flavors. The chicken and shrimp tacos were a tad over cooked and I wish we had saved some of the AMAZING guacamole for the tacos! We cleaned the guac bowl fairly quickly I feel like the tacos needs a teeny boost of extra flavor maybe guacamole or pico de gallo but the portions were very fair. Me and some of my friends (party of six) ate here and even though they were fighting a dinner rush and only have been open a short while, the food was fantastic and the service was good.
