Situated right smack in the middle of Hernando, with a small hometown feel and with views to match, Waffle House is as close as you can get to a home cooked breakfast without going to Grandmas house. Food is always out fast and served hot, coffee is fresh and was a near perfect dark roast, although not as hot as I prefer. Wait times on a table can be a bit lengthy during peak breakfast times but the food is well worth the wait. Service was great with one caveat, I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip, a bit awkward but I handled it sheepishly and was none worse for the wear, but still a bit off putting to be put on the spot in such fashion. Prices are reasonable and a breakfast for two with drinks will be comfortable inside of $30 dollars, not bad for a home styled, sit down feel good meal. read more

So, we have a few Waffle House location near us, however, the Waffle House in Hernando is our go-to location. The food is always quick, fresh, hot and tasty. The wait staff friendly and attentive. I love that they'll bring my waffle after I eat my eggs, sausage and hash browens. Nothing fancy but good eats and nice people. read more

Cleanliness and customer service, with a HEAVY focus on service is what I look for when I enter one. This one in Hernando is usually pretty clean and the service is typically better than most. This might be the first time I've ever been to Waffle House, though that seems hard to believe. I live in a region where there are probably none. This is exactly what I hoped it would be. Pulled up a chair to the counter with laminated menu already in front of me. I chose an option and it was brought out to me really quickly. Heather waited on me and she is a star! The worst cooks are the ones who think they can cook. Eggs are literally the easiest thing to cook in a skillet, but they do burn. How can a place, that is built on breakfast foods, afford to burn their eggs. Also, When you are one of three people sitting, your service should be impeccable not improbable. read more

We walked in to a dining room of 8 people or less with 5 dirty tables and no one greeted us until we had been here at least 10-15 minutes. If one of the waitresses moved any slower, I would have sworn she was part sloth. The other waitress was nice but this is not the job for her!! She was very timid and spoke way too softly for me to hear. After they finally cleaned off ONE of the dirty tables, we were greeted and seated. It has been 40 minutes now and 3 of the other tables are still waiting for the sloth to clean them. Not often do we stop at a Waffle House on a road trip where we need to give a poor review. Sadly, this location really missed the mark! No one greeted us. It was freezing cold. There was only one table of people and we sat and waited while 3 waitresses and two cooks talked. I finally got someone's eye and they sent a brand new employee over (without a mentor.) She didn't know the menu and didn't get our orders right. So then another lady comes over to ask questions and finally brings us coffee - which was cold. We got her attention (again) and she said she would bring us another cup. She then came and told us their burners were out and that was why coffee was cold. It took awhile to get our first cup of coffee for the day! I'm giving 2 stars because the food was well prepared. Last comment...this was 9am in the morning. Place should have been full. Waffle House is one of my favorite places and one of my hardest critiqued. Lord bless um. We walked into the cooler. Lol or at least that is what it feels like when you first walk in. The smell of fresh eggs and sweet waffles come up and slaps you strait in the kisser. Mmm mmm. I have a personality either you love or you hate. Thank goodness we are in the south where continuous chatter and sweetness is openly tolerated with fat hugs and "yeah Huns". After holding up the waitress with my life story, she merrily took our order and is making a note to call her mom. (((Big smiles))) I'm glad I can make someone call their momma. While watching the cook work her magic over the grill I took a moment to look around to share with you all. I am a very critical person and usually Waffle House has some problems but not tonight. We went to eat breakfast this morning and the manager came out of the backroom raising her voice at the cook, embarrassing and so unprofessional! I was seated at least 10 feet from her and could hear her clearly stating that the cook should communicate more with management.. this should have been done in the backroom, I felt bad for the cook! read more

Can you believe this is my first Waffle House? I thought they didn't have oatmeal. Silly me. And if it were possible for them to get the food to you before you order, I think they would, it came out of the kitchen that fast. And, raisin toast. Just sayin'. Bad customer service. We came in, saw a booth open, but chairs were in front of it. It was not closed off because of covid because we saw different groups of people sitting over there. The waitress was watching us and knew we were unsure about sitting down. She never told us it was blocked off, so we sat down. 15 minutes go by and we aren't being served. My friend respectfully asked the waitress if we needed to move. She got an attitude and said that's why the chairs were there. So we moved, but the only empty seats were at the bar. Some guy was sitting right in the middle of the bar with empty seats around him. He was alone and hadn't even gotten his food yet. My friend asked politely if he would mind to move down a seat so we could sit at literally the only available seats. The guy said nothing and just stared. The same waitress from earlier made a comment about us being "rude". Luckily a booth just opened up so we sat there. We were there for 15 minutes before we were told that the servers were refusing to serve us because of something "negative"that was said. We tried to clarify that we were being polite about the situation and the manager told us there was "nothing he could do" because the 2 servers refused to serve us. We were baffled because we meant no disrespect to other customers or the servers. It seems to me, that they just didn't want to work. As someone who works in the food industry, they need some lessons on customer service. I would've gotten fired for something like that. read more

I received GREAT service from Stephanie but the entire crew doesn't understand the concept of "TeamWork". They argued back and forth in front of customers about who was gonna wash dishes, who took the last waffle, who was next to scream out their order. I'm pretty sensible when I put reviews on here but enough already. Now, Jericka on the grill does NOT know how to talk to coworkers. Maybe she had a bad night but shucks it's 1p get over it! The manager made simple small talk with customers when she wasn't in the back out of view. Now the bathroom needs MORE than a little attention...yucky hot mess! Waffle House fare is relatively the same across the board, but I've definitely had bad experiences at some. This was a great experience. The service was friendly and fast and the food was great. My eggs were cooked perfectly over medium, which is not a simple feat. The restaurant was clean and we will eat there again. read more

There are some regular waitresses that have been there for years that always provide a great experience. Occasionally when we have gotten other waitresses they haven't been as great and we waited a really long time only to receive our order wrong. read more

Me and my family went to Waffle House on Christmas Day and it was horrible the employees were so rude and my food was worse they served my waffle looks like they rung it out like a rag burned my hash browns finally received my bacon after I finished what I could eat of the food they gave me it was the worst experience I have ever had at a Waffle House I do not recommend this store at all read more
