She was so gentle and patient with him, knowing he might be nervous, and truly took such great care of him. Everyone was incredibly sweet and loving. OMG! What a great pet shop just a couple blocks away from the Dog Friendly Inn we were staying at! Stumbled upon this shop while walking and couldn't be happier. What a cool space - it's HUGE with literally anything you can think of for your pet. The prices were a little steep, but that's to be expected from local pet stores like this and we were happy to support. We found the cutest lobster bandana for our pup here that's perfect for summer! This is single handily the best pet store I have ever been in. The store itself is huge. The food and treat selection is tremendous. The toy section is anything like I've ever seen in store. There are products that I've only seen online. I was lucky enough to meet the owner (and his pup!) who is immensely kind. The staff was equally as lovely and helped me throughout my visit. While I was there all of their holiday merchandise was 50% off (this was right before Christmas too). I definitely took advantage. I think my favorite part about this store is their reasonable prices. They also have a fantastic reward system. Spend $200 and you get $25-50 off. I forget the exact amount. Stopped in 11:30 am Sat Jul 8 2023 to look at harnesses, a biscuit and maybe a toy for our toy poodle, with puppy in tow. No one else in store besides a young woman arranging inventory. No water for dog was set out so asked and she said sure, she'd set some out. And didn't. Or ask us if she could help us with anything. Or acknowledge us any further. Not particularly pet, or anything/anyone, friendly. Next time will look for friendlier establishments. read more

The staff here is very kind and their selection is cute, a bit pricey like everything in newport, but that's not why i'm here. I booked a grooming appointment here. i am a new puppy owner and i was extremely nervous about coming in. i have a doodle and her hair was absolutely beautiful and i wanted to keep it that way. i was assured that her hair would stay long by numerous employees including the groomer herself. i had asked to keep it long and low and behold my doodle has been shaved. i know their shaving policy, they only shave if the dog is 40% matted, and i can assure you she was not. i understand hair grows back but i am disappointed with the communication between the store and myself as this is my dog. i will not be coming back to this store and i will not recommend to others. i asked for it to STAY LONG and i am very disappointed with the outcome. read more

This is a great little dog supply store and not too far from the house we moved to in December 2019. We were delighted to find a store in Newport that actually carries the dog food brand that we give our dog. Fromm Family foods. The dog food is somewhat hard to find and is only available through the company website and certain stores. The store has almost everything your dog could need and the staff is always so nice and polite. We walked here once and paid in advance to come back with our car but the woman offered us delivery instead which is just amazing. Check this place out for your dog! read more

They have great pet toys. However, they are a bit on the pricy side - they are a "pet boutique" and they have various specialty items which may be difficult to acquire on the island otherwise. I do wish they'd have more cat items - my cats live their toys and we bought Xmas gifts for them here, however it's only one table and a corner. Cats are "humans" too; they wag their tails just like doggies do. When my wife and I first moved to the area, we thought they catered only to dogs. This is not the case - it has everything for dogs and something for cats. All in all, great pet stuff. read more

We visited this shop at the end of January to purchase some custom monogrammed bowls for the puppy we were getting in a few weeks. The man at the counter ensured us that if we purchased the bowls and treat container he would ship them to us after monogramming within a week or two. It was perfect timing so we would have them before our puppy. Here we are, almost a MONTH later....I have left several messages, called multiple times, no one answers. I called once and spoke to a woman on the phone who said she would take my info and get back to me....still nothing. I sent a message on Facebook explaining I would like my items and an update. I love wag nation. I am very particular on the food and treats that my dog eats. Everything sold at wag nation is high quality made in the USA food and treats. They have all sorts of unique items that you just can't get at Petsmart or PETCO. The prices for food are going to be a little bit higher than the big stores, but its so worth it for the quality. My dog loves the baked treats in jars near the register and goes crazy for the chicken, duck and fish crisps as well. read more

We discovered Wag Nation on a recent trip to Newport with Oscar (our North Carolina Ditch Hound), and I have to say I am rarely WOWed by a pet store but here is the exception to the rule. A friendly and knowledgeable staff really educated us on pet food ingredients and healthy treats. I'm picky about what food I eat, I am now just as selective when I choose dog food and treats. Besides healthy food and treats Wag Nation has an great selection of toys, accessories and the most fashionable duds around for your pooch that don't look like a costume (Although Oscar just prefers a cool collar). They have great selection for cats too, although Sadie wasn't on this trip with us, we brought back some goodies for her as well. I'm a Fan! Now you just need to open up in Philadelphia! read more

Me and my wife were down from upstate New York and saw the cute little place. It appears the shop is under new owners as the old ones have moved on. The store is bright and airy and the staff is pleasant and willing to help with your needs. Went in the buy a new leash for our dog Bean and walked out with so much more. (food, treats, and a new bed) I wish we lived closer because they also offer local delivery to residents and vacationers. This is a cute little place off of Bellevue. They have good quality stuff. They also carry dog food, which is nice. They carry Earthborn, which is not listed on Earthborn's website (although I told the owner and she was going to contact them. Really what you would think of when you think pet boutique--but probably a little better than you were expecting. During our recent visit to Newport we stopped in to WagNation to pick out a new collar for our newest addition to our family. They did not have exactly what we wanted but were kind enough to order it and have it shipped to our home in Connecticut at no extra cost. They also included a free matching leash. I love Wag Nation, have been going there for years, but twice in the past month I've gone by during regular business hours (lunchtime, when everyone does errands) to find a sign on the door: out for coffee! This is the cutest store. I go there all the time for my dog's treats. I've tried to buy him treats elsewhere and he turns his nose up at them. He never turns his nose up at a Wag Nation treat. His favorites are the beef jerky & chicken jerky. They smell so good I'm tempted to try them. And they have a great selection of other treats too. He loves the bully stick. They have the cutest toys, he loved the Huck em duck, and the sheep mat with 16 squeakers!! They also have really great social events for the dogs. They have "Yappy Hour" out on their patio, and serve dog treats, and human snacks, and sparkling wine. Sometimes they have giveaways too, one time I won a $100 gift certificate! I've brought my dog several times, he has the best time with the other dogs. And at Halloween they had a stroll with the dogs all dressed up, it was great! Tom was extremely helpful and spoke to my wife and I about every product they sell. I stopped by for dog treats and was surprised to see there was a new owner. I don't know if she was just having a lonely/bad day, but she was obnoxious and name-dropping. The store was a wreck - broken fixtures on the walls, empty spaces and it needed a good cleaning. She doesn't carry the treats I used to buy there and tried to talk me into getting bulk treats that look like they came out of Job Lot. Then she showed me some dogs sweaters and said she made them herself, but the labels said Made in Peru. What a shame. Used to be a cute shop. Avoid. read more
