Nothing better than shopping local to begin with, and when it comes to pets, this is the place to visit. We took our small son in for his first fish, and it was a great experience. Not overwhelming like most chain pet shops. We were able to ask any question we had, specifically about size requirements for a living condition for a pet betta fish. We opted to let my son pick out the fish and of course it was a beautiful blue betta fish. We then debated on how we would set up a home for our new fish, and after further discussion with the store clerk, we chose a mason jar and cleverly decided to call him Mason. It was an absolute hit and an amazing pet store experience. We continue to stop in occasionally for food and I'm sure we will continue to do so. I plan to keep supporting our local pet shop, with other family pets in the future. I visit Mystic quite often and must have passed this place so many times, but today I decided to stop in since one of my kitties has a birthday coming up and I'm always looking for new and unique toys and cat items, and also love supporting local businesses. I wasn't disappointed at all. I walked in and felt welcome from the start, there was a beautiful black cat sitting on the counter to greet the customers, the girl said theres 2 resident cats, but I only saw the black one, I looked for the other one too! Customer service is awesome, I can't say enough about it. Everyone in the store was so nice and friendly, I'm not even sure if everyone I spoke with worked there or were customers, but its definitely a friendly and welcoming place. I found plenty of cat toys to choose from, as well as a great selection of treats and some cute greeting cards as well. They have a huge variety of dog and cat food, mostly specialty brands, and if I was in need, this would be the first place I'd travel to as the staff is so well educated on the different brands, etc. I live an hour away and wouldn't hesitate to drive all the way to Mystic. They also have fish and supplies. I'm not sure if the fish were for sale or not, I was really looking for the cat and just happened to come across the fish tanks! Parking is easy.. they have a parking lot! Very easy to find right on the main road before the drawbridge. Will be making this a regular stop whenever I'm in the area! read more

You are going to be hard pressed to find a better locally owned pet shop in a 100 mile radius. I don't think that the prices are unreasonable although a tad bit higher than the larger locations around. What you will find here is impeccable service with knowledgeable employees who actually give a darn about your dog/cat/etc. They have some resident cats that my daughter always looks for! Finding ourselves new dog owners earlier this year, we felt a little lost when we got our puppy Frida. I found out the night before getting her that we were her new family. I have learned so much from the Mystic Pet Shop. They have been such a great help offering the best food, treats & toys for our puppy. They carry a TON of different kinds that cater to different sensitivities, grain free ect and in all different size bags to try. They also have the best treats for training, teething toys/bones ect.. My kids also love going to the shop to see the awesome parrot & huge kitties that are so sweet. The owners are always so nice & inviting, great place! read more

John and Genevieve go out of their way to talk to me about my concerns and they always have informed suggestions for what he should be eating to help his condition.
