I had Wagamama the first night I came to London and I didn't even know it was a chain. It looked really new and hip inside so I decided to give it a try. Honestly, it wasn't that bad I actually thought it was different from the food that I've tried in the US mostly because of the Japanese/Korean fusion and their use of duck. They have a bar that serves sake and beer.. I don't remember if it had other things. I tried their duck bibimbap which was actually pretty tasty, their pork buns which was pretty mediocre... and their duck wings which I liked, but had too many tiny shards of bones. The service was good. Waiters were very friendly and checked in on us multiple times. The food came quickly and drinks were relatively cheap. The food on the other had eh. I got the Tantan Beef Brisket Ramen. The noodles were not bouncy, overcooked. The egg was tasteless and the kimchi and bamboo shoot tasted funky (like they came out of instant packaging frozen for a long time). The only part about this ramen I enjoyed was the Beef. Popped in to Wagamamas for lunch today as we didn't have a lot of time and it is quick. We were a group of 8 and even though it was very busy, we were sat down straight away. We weren't rushed when they were taking our order or made to felt like we had to leave when we had finished our meals which was good. A v handy place for lunch after visiting the Tower of London or, like me and partner, were just strolling around on a Shaun the Sheep sculpture trail. The ginger chicken udon is my go to option. I went for edamame (can't not) and pad Thai on this occasion (tip; you can choose which noodles you have! Udon is blates the best). Boyfriend had the beef chilli ramen (v hot but a bit samey after a while, but I guess that's ramen really). All the deserts are just heaven... The staff were v bright and cheery and the restaurant was clean and spacious. Yum! I went to Europe on holiday and my companion and I only had one day in London. I'd been to London many times before but wanted to cram in all the sites into our day. We got to Tower of London and Tower Bridge just around lunch time so we decided to get something with hot soup since the weather was quite chilly. I had the miso ramen while my companion had the yakisoba noodles. Both were nothing crazy outstanding, but they were delicious and definitely hit the spot. We also shared an appetizer of chicken wings seasoned in an "Asian" way. Service is seriously quick and the staff is really nice. Seating is arranged in long tables where you may end up sitting next to some strangers, but luckily we were there at a non-busy hour so we had lots of space to ourselves. read more

Walked in and the place was not filled up even though it was a little after lunch hour. I sat down with my family and ordered tea (because it was free and being from the US £2 for a drink was steep) and I wish I paid for a soda. The tea tasted like fish and salt.... I kid you not... I got my yaki soba and I wasn't expecting anything mind blowing but come on! For all the relishes and protein in this dish it tasted bland. There were hints of ginger here and there but it wasn't special and even good really. My fam ordered the chicken ramen and teriyaki chicken and they said theirs was okay. Visiting Tower of London and this was nearby for something hot on a cold, cloudy grey day. They made effort to seat our large party of 9, so we didn't mind squeezing into table typically suited for 8. Service was friendly and relatively fast. It's Asian fusion.. tried duck ramen which had plenty of shredded duck meat. Other chicken ramen was also good. Wouldn't go out of way to visit this location specifically for food. 7/29/17 We were in the London Tower area around lunch on our last day, and were looking for a bite to eat. We walked around under the bridge for a bit to check out all of the food vendors, but didn't see anything we liked. A restroom stop was needed as well, so we popped into Wagamama. Interesting fusion of Indian and Asian. I was craving some curry, so I chose the curry dish. It was very non-traditional, as one would expect at a fusion type restaurant. The food tasted fresh and was well prepared with a very nice serving size. The curry was like a masala mixed with pad thai over rice. They did have pad thai here but I wanted to try something different. I was satisfied with the food. I keep thinking the service is going to get better over here, but it never does. I guess people are used to being ignored once they order their food. Like everywhere else in England, service sucks. read more

Perhaps it was because I live in california and have a large variety of Asian food available, but this was no better than a local pho place. It is similar to marachuan Ramen (ya know the cheap stove top stuff) but with even less flavor. I got the wagamama and I had to douse it in soy sauce and ask for some spicy pork sauce to give it some flavor. But then it just tasted like soy sauce. They have a nice selection a Asian fusion cuisine that is tasty and reasonably priced by London standards! The restaurant is downstairs so don't worry if it feels like you are walking through a door to nowhere under the sign! We also tried the location by the Tower of London- apparently stories of treason and royal intrigue make me just as hungry as the mummies- this one is in a big modern building above the ticket office with big windows an nice view. Both have cafeteria seating which makes it really good for large groups. I was first introduced in '06 by my professors who take their study abroad kids here every trip, and they must be doing something right because the chain has spread all over the city!! read more

No, this isn't actually "Japanese." I suppose it's the easiest category to fit it into though, considering there isn't just a "noodle" category. It's more like a fusion - type chain, but they do fusion pretty well IMO. I'm tempting to give this place 3 stars because: 1) I was seriously freezing my ass off when we found this place, so ANY hot noodle dish was going to leave me pleasantly satisfied; and 2) the view was great for touristy people ... like myself. ^_^ However, a few things stuck out: The cafeteria style seating (don't misunderstand, there is waiter service) makes it ideal for large groups, but I was just here with a party of two and considering how EMPTY this place was for dinner on a weekday, we felt a little dwarfed by the set up. Also, I find it really odd when all ordered entrees aren't delivered to the table together and all at the same time. I realize Wagamama probably want to serve you your dish exactly right when it's fresh and ready, but if you're like me, you aren't going to start eating it until everyone has their food anyway. So what's the point? On to the food: The chicken kare lomen was 4 stars in my ravaged, freezing state. OMG. I devoured it. However, Wagamama is a popular chain masquerading as some authentic noodle house, which it is not. So while the dish was satisfying at the time, I cannot award it 4 stars in hindsight. It was an average, 3 star meal. The ramen here is seriously lacking. This is to be expected. Their pork miso ramen is a testament to how much Wagamama's is white-washed. Of course, this is a touristy location in a white city. So I wasn't surprised. But for those who might be... if you're expecting "authentic" ramen, you're in the wrong place... Avoid ordering ramen unless you are at a ramen house, because what you will receive is equivalent to instant noodles. For vegetarians, they only had a few items on the menu particularly catered to your requirements. To my memory, I think it was around 3 or 4 items only. However, they were willing to work around my friend's diet as most of their noodle soups use a veggie base anyway and it was simple enough just to remove the chicken. You'd think that "chocolate ginger cheesecake" sounds amazing. Then you get it ... and it's just .... blah. Not impressed. Maybe I was duped by the title of the dessert and had my expectations set too high. Ah well. The point is, don't allow the menu's flavourful wording to dupe you! On the bonus side, they gave us promotional cards for our next visit, good for "2 for 1 meals" at any Wagamama. Too bad I haven't redeemed mine yet... read more

Pho soup was extremely salty but bland at the same time, even adding 2 sides of kimchi (up charge for each) into the soup. I'm not sure how they accomplished this feat... but they did. Went at a really busy time (Sunday lunch) but managed to get a table really quickly. We got served and I was expecting the food to take a while given how busy it was. However our food came very quickly and was delicious! Our server was very friendly and asked if everything was okay during our meal. The vegan options are generous but I do wish there was more variety. I'm sure if I had asked to veganise other dishes that would have been fine though. The meals were generous as Wagamama meals generally are. I would definitely go to this one again. I heard from a native English fellow that Wagamama was good. So I tried it for the first time and it was very average. I decided maybe it was just my dish, I'll try it again to give my final opinion about it. So this was my 2nd time at Wagamama but first time at this location. Let's just say I am quite disappointed about this place. The curry was average and the yaki soba noodles were not good at all. The flavor was bland and I am not talking about the amount of salt they put in the dishes. Wagamama definitely does not have authentic dishes. Although, if there is a Wagamama nearby and I'm hungry, I would stop here to eat something if there is nothing else around. Wagamama is also overpriced. I have had authentic dishes and they had cheaper prices than this place. Side note: this location has an amazing view. I definitely loved it. read more

Friendly staff and a airy layout make this place one of the better Wagamama's I've ever been in. Of course it's the same menu that all the other chain venues offer, but that's no bad thing, and I'm happy to say that everything I ordered was delivered hot and as tasty as any of their restaurants I've ever been to - which actually hasn't always been the case with all their restaurants. I'm one of those people who only ever orders chilli chicken ramen. a big bowl of chicken, noodles and fresh vegetables plus as much green tea as I want. At £8.25 for the meal, how can they possibly make any money out of me? Make sure you try out the soups as well if you are really hungry as they are the most filling dishes. and checkout the website as they do 2for1 offers if u sign up. we make great use of these. the food standard is great, and as i said, we go back a lot of times. I only really go to Wagamama when there's one of those two for one promotions - a bowl of chicken ramen each for a friend and me for around £4 is really a bargain! Great value chain - I have been to various locations a handful of times and never had a bad meal. This branch was very busy on a Monday lunchtime - but it is peak tourist season and Tower Hill was buzzing. I had a prawn/rice dish - I forget the name, but it was number 79! Plenty of king prawns, tonnes of chili, nice sticky rice (not too tricky to pick up with chopsticks) and veg. Washed down with two large glasses of ginger beer. Icing on the cake, so to speak, was the white chocolate cheesecake with toffee chili sauce. Awesome. read more

My fav is the udon noodles with chicken, chilli sauce, prawns. You also green free unlimited green tea, and their fresh fruit juices are delicious. The ramen is great, I'm particularly fond of the chilli beef one but the chicken one is also good. Love the starters, edamame..gyoza..ebi katsu..yakitori. All always great! If you're visiting the Tower of London and need a quick lunch, this place is perfect, especially if it is cold or rainy. I got the chilli ramen with beefsteak- delicious, fresh, very filling, warm, and just the right amount of spicy. The portion is huge too. The servers are very friendly and quick and the view of the tower and bridge is great. The seating is kind of like a cafeteria but very clean and modern, and the staff was very nice and accommodating when we requested to sit on the far side for a bit more quiet.
