Myself and my pups love Wagging Tails. They are an amazing mom and pop pet store that runs an amazing doggie daycare! You can get all your pet needs from food to supplies to basically anything there for very reasonable prices... often times even cheaper than places like petsmart or chewy! Plus it's a nice personal feel... they get to know you and your pets. They work with you to give you the best experience. The doggie daycare run by Crystal is the most amazing part of them. Both my dogs are treated like family and are loved like family. Crystal loves all the dogs like they are her own. One of my dogs had knee surgery and tho he can't play a lot she welcomes him to hang out with her... gets him out of the house which is good for him and he loves it! And my other pup plays with all her friends! She's made the best of friends at daycare! They both absolutely love going.... This review is not against the groomer. My dog loved going to her and I was always satisfied when I picked him up. I do however have issues with making an appointment. Even before COVID I had difficulty getting an appointment but was always willing to wait. I'm not sure the woman's name that makes the appointments but every time we call she is ruder and ruder. My husband tried to call this week and without even being able to speak she said " if you are calling for a grooming appointment we are all booked" and hung up. What kind of customer service is that? As much as we love the groomer, I can't see us going back. read more

We have been coming to Wagging Tails for over three years. The customer service here is fantastic. Both Crystal and James handle the front of house like complete pros, and Michele and Drew do a great job with the grooming and bathing. They have amazing stock and are always happy to special order anything they don't have, but the people that work here are the main reason we go out of our way to come here vs. going to another store 30 seconds from our apartment. Brought our puppy in for some grooming services, we had an appointment but they took us a few minutes early, told us to come back in an hour.... We came back and he was so happy and smelled so good, his nails were trimmed and his ears were clean too. Crystal and Michelle were great. They helped us with all of our questions. read more

The team at wagging tails were so delightful! They were super friendly with both myself and my pups. The groomer, I believe her name was Michele, was fantastic. She is the first groomer we have loved since moving to NYC from Wisconsin. She did a fab job with the cuts, even on my heavily matted younger doodle. They were fast too! Our appointment was for 11 am and they were done by 2:30 pm which has never happened at an appointment before considering I have two 65 lb labradoodles. Cost is comparable to anywhere else I've found ($225 total for two full grooms that were pretty matted and teeth cleaning add ons). The front end worker, Crystal, was so kind as well! She was patient while I got their vaccine records in order. I already have them scheduled for their 6 week touch up. My boys look great and I'm super happy (saying a lot from a picky dog mom!) thank you wagging tails!! read more

Super happy to have found this lovely shop so near to our place! A and I adopted two puppies this weekend and we bought a bunch of stuff online so we'd have everything ready by the time the girls came home. But, of course, UPS being as reliable as they are, by Sunday, we hadn't received the gate we were planning to use to create their play pen so we had make a trip out to the pet store. And boy, are we glad we did! The girl who was there was super helpful (I wish we had gotten her name)! Full of suggestions, but not in a "do what I say and buy what I recommend" way. I'd had older dogs before but it is our first time raising puppies, so we were glad for the advice. She helped us to decide on a crate and gave us advice on how to crate train them. She helped us to decide on what brand dog food to get, chew toys to use, snacks for training, etc etc etc! She even gave us a bag of treats as a congrats on becoming fur parents, which was very sweet of her. Plus, the pups love it! We came home and walked the puppies and noticed one of the harnesses we had gotten was too big; she was so scared and tense at the store so we couldn't adjust the straps to fit her properly. And then the gate we bought (one of the few things the girl at the store hadn't recommended) was being easily knocked over by the babies. Unfortunately by the time we noticed all this, we had done laundry... And the receipt was in A's pocket. The next day we went back to the store half expecting to get denied the refund. A man was there and we explained what happened and he was super cool about it and accepted the items, even the harness which didn't have the tag because we had it taken off at the store the day before. This is definitely going to be "our" pet shop for the many years to come as we raise these little ladies. Besides the awesome customer service, they carry all the great brands that I read about when I was doing my extensive research on puppy raising: A Taste of the Wild, Blue Buffalo, Kong, Earthbath, etc etc. Also, the store seemed very clean. I've been to other pet shops that smell really bad where I would just grab what I needed quickly and bolt (all the while not breathing through my nose), this store was not like that. My dog LOVES coming here. Crystal is basically her favorite person, and doggy day care is her favorite thing ever. I'm so grateful to this store - as a first time dog owner, I knew nothing, and Crystal was and is always willing to make a suggestion or share a product tip. They have excellent products, and excellent service. The groomer, Michelle, is so sweet and so good with the pups, and just so kind. She doesn't make me feel like a totally dog-parent failure, even when I brought in my dog after many many months (due to covid) and she had to work extra-hard to take care of her. During quarantine, I think it became clear how essential this place was - the epitome of a neighborhood store. They went above and beyond to help people get the food they needed, delivered it to people's doors, were there to answer any questions , and kept up the sense of community they had built over the years. Our dog Lily has done daycare at Wagging Tails a few times now and we could not be happier! Crystal does such a fantastic job caring for our fur baby as if she is her own - always sending us cute pictures of activities, walks, etc so we never feel far from her. Our dog lily genuinely looks like she has so much fun there and I think it's also so good for her to get socializing in with the other dogs. We loved wagging tails! My dog daisy can be a little nervous when she meets a lot of dogs at once but she seemed like she had a great time and was exhausted when I picked her up (and it's difficult getting her energy out). Crystal was thorough asking personality questions about daisy as well as looking thru her medical history. Called in to make an appointment for my 2 year old Golden who I wanted to get trimmed on the shorter side so his hair could grow evenly. Krystal did such an amazing job reassuring me that her groomer would take good care of my pup. She was super accommodating to my needs of having to go in a bit earlier. Definitely a pet friendly environment and you can just feel the love for animals in there place on Metropolitan. Easy street parking around the corner. This review is with regards to interaction with the owner. I stopped by the store and overheard the owner talking to a customer. They were discussing another daycare and owner mentioned that's why you need to be careful, ask questions and do your due diligence. I remember this because as I asked questions to the owner on the temperament test and daycare, she's getting frustrated and essentially saying if I'm asking these standard questions, she's not sure if it's the right fit for me. It astounds me given the timing of her conversation with the previous customer. Plus, it is not unheard of for doggy daycares to lose dogs, or for dogs to get seriously injured (or worse). I don't have comments on daycare, as this interaction with the owner was enough. read more

After realizing that my dog had a tick a few weeks ago, my family and I were in a rush to get him to a vet or groomer. My girlfriend and I were looking for a new groomer for our two seniors; a teacup yorkie and a mini poodle mix. She found Wagging Tails on Yelp and was able to book concurrent appointments for both within 2 weeks. The staff is very friendly and helpful. While I was filling out the paperwork I overheard the woman who was tending to the front end explaining to another customer who was picking up his young pitbull how to properly clean her teeth. The groomer was understanding of our particular needs of our two little seniors, and made sure to make whatever adjustments to be sure that she cut their hair safely and stylishly.
