Only hire these people if you like the idea of having your pets cared for by someone who can't answer: "How do you know my pets are even alive?" We have indoor-only cats, and we hired Tammy for in-home pet sitting while we were away. We returned to discover one of our cats missing. When we still hadn't found him after a few hours, I called Tammy. She blithely told me that she hadn't seen him for four or five days, and because I told her that she didn't need to clean my second floor, she didn't even bother to look for him. My wife and I spent the next four days in a gut-wrenching panic. Every little sound and every blur of motion became an orange cat for just long enough to be heartbreaking. Every dead animal on the side of the road... It was awful. We tore both sides of our duplex apart, emptied our basement, purchased equipment to look into our walls and ducts, checked shelters, made flyers, and patrolled our neighborhood at all hours. We finally found our cat in a nearby overgrown lot, cowering in an abandoned storage trailer. When I called Tammy to talk about it, she demonstrated zero empathy, claimed to be utterly infallible, and made wild accusations, such as blaming my landlady (who was out of town at the time). Tammy even suggested that I'd made the whole thing up. She wasn't interested in documented evidence or that there were witnesses to his discovery/rescue. She insulted us, mocked our distress, and never once entertained the idea that she was in any way at fault for losing an animal whose absence she ignored (and neglected to mention) for days. There's so much more, like ignoring instructions or locking herself out of the house, but this review comes down to unapologetic negligence and the failure to do the only part of the job that really mattered: keeping my animals safe. In the interest of full disclosure, this was the second time I'd used Tammy. The first time around, I paid her several weeks late. She doesn't take plastic, and the nearest branch of my bank is in Syracuse, so I had a box of checks mailed to me specifically to pay her. Do not base your perception of this business off of a few negative reviews. People will have negative experiences wherever they go, and I can confidently say that I have never had any issues with Wags-n-Whiskers. The owner, Tammy, is kind, generous, flexible, and most importantly, she treats my pet like a part of her own family. It's so wonderful to have piece of mind that my dog is happy and taken care of while I'm at work. My dog actually seems to love Tammy more than she loves me! As soon as my dog sees Tammy's K9 van or hears her voice, she starts freaking out with joy until she sees Tammy and can jump in her arms. This is proof of how wonderful Tammy is to the animals she takes care of, as animals do not lie. Tammy takes such good care of my dog and is flexible with my hectic work schedule. She truly cares about animals and goes out of her way to provide good care. Her prices are also very reasonable, but to me you cannot put a price on quality pet care, which is what Tammy provides. Do NOT take your dog(s) here. The place is small, hot, and overcrowded. They also say that the dogs are constantly supervised, which is a lie. I have pulled in there several times only to find the dogs out back with no supervision. They are constantly screaming at their own dogs and their client's dogs. They will also bash other clients and their dogs right to your face and will say things like "I hate that dog" I have heard this more than once. My beagle used to come back frightened and I think it was because of the constant screaming that goes on there. Plus, I don't even think they are supposed to be boarding there because it is in a residential area? Not sure though. They are inexpensive, but you get what you pay for!! spend the extra money and take your dog someplace else that has a nicer environment and has workers that actually like dogs! read more

Even though the previous review is old it is extremely accurate. The website states that she offers "At My Home Sleepovers" and refers to her service as "a sleep over at our place, where they can romp with the other dogs." This claim could not be further from the truth. Wagg's-n-whiskers is a poorly run kennel to say the least. At least other kennels own up to the services they offer. The room the dogs are kept in is dimly lit, at no point in time does she show you were the dogs are kept, it's loud, and it smells. They don't ask for any information about your dog. The only thing they use is the dog food you bring. I still can't believe I paid someone to treat my dog this way. My dog was afraid to leave the kennel and was trembling when I got him back. I would never bring my dog here again. Maybe she provides good in home services, but besides that I strongly suggest you go somewhere else. read more
