I bought $160.00 dollars worth of plants on 5/31, 1 out of the 6 Zinnia's I purchased immediately died within 2 days due to a broken stem that wasn't noticeable at purchase. Called them on 6/2, dealt with Amanda who was honestly the sweetest, kindest person I've ever dealt with besides the gentleman that owns the place and she saw the plant and even agreed with me that it was dead and let me exchange it. I planted the second one the same way as the 5 that are thriving and here we are 10 days later and my plant id app is saying it's sick meaning diseased. So thinking I would just exchange it again so they could see it.... Well this time when I called I got an older lady who literally refused to give me her name and stated "I do not need to give you my name" after I asked for her name at the end of the call because one she never introduced herself like I did and the tone of her voice and the way she talked to me was completely unacceptable and very unprofessional. This older woman told me "we don't do refunds so we're not going to give you another free plant, you are lucky you even got one free plant, for all we know it could have snapped at the base from the wind or you planted it wrong and all of our Zinnias are all healthy and doing great so obviously you did something wrong and killed the plant..." but even though there planted in window boxes and the rest are all thriving. I have spent thousands of dollars at this place and unfortunately with them I will never step foot again in that place. If the older gentleman saw me in person along with my significant other, he'd know exactly who we were. Also, if there are supposed signs in your place of business saying no refunds even though I'm not asking for a refund then maybe you should inform your employees regarding it. That older woman who answered my call should never be allowed to answer any calls nor work in a place of business that encounters customers. Absolutely unacceptable

Wanted to bring my 1.5 Year old somewhere a bit more lowkey than the big wigs in town and also wanted to knock out pumpkins and apple picking at the same time- enter Blackman Homestead Farm. It ticked those boxes and also delicious slushies (apple cider and grape) just a missed opportunity for delicious pastries (hmm cinnamon donuts!) We thank goodness read Darlene's review about making a reservation and did that the day of around noon and was able to get in at 330! The reservation is made online and the farm is FREE to enter (amazing) but can't be changed or cancelled, however you only need it per carload, so unless you're bringing another car, you can tack on extra folks. We purchased some apples we picked (it was pretty low in the season to pick off the trees) and some that were all set for you in bins, a pumpkin, some cider, a tiny pumpkin and were surprised by the price. Gently it was not as expensive as I thought. Parking was quick and easy on a later Saturday afternoon, with a quick Hi to the Turkeys, some exploring around the pumpkins and picking some apples we had a good time after about an hour and half. I did noticed that it was well organized and lots of folks did disregard the signs: don't feed the Turkeys (grass) and pick up the apples you drop off the tree. There were alot of half eaten, throw apples on the ground which made me kind of sad. Please respect someone's rules and property, it's so nice to be able to come see the farm for free, I hope that doesn't change.

There is a small, outdoor shop for cider and fruit already to take home; and many spots to sit and enjoy the view from this escarpment. The helpers are friendly and the offerings are varied. All things fall - pumpkins on offer, gourds, homemade fall-spiced cookies, signs for great social media pix - and totally family friendly. Parking is abundant. We make this an annual day for picking , always a pleasure.

This is an awesome little farmers market that have a ton of locally grown fruit and veggies, as well as jellies, jams, dressings, honey, and syrup! It seems to be set up in what could have once been a garage, and has a pair of aisles where you'll find all the produce. There is also a couple of fridges toward the back which serve to keep some of the more perishable stuff on ice before they're sold. They are a seasonal market, generally open from around June to December. They'll have your annual goodies here - my first visit yielded peaches and apples (even though they're not quite in season yet), as well as a variety of veggies like cucumbers, hot and green peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Too early for the fall & winter stuff just yet, but I see some photos of their pumpkins, squash, cider, and Christmas trees from last year on their Facebook page. I was happy to be able to pick up some ears of sweet corn, a cucumber, and about 6 apples, all for a whopping $5. Seriously. You could never get that kind of a deal at your grocery store! Not happy with the way the owner handled the situation either. Very cocky because he just couldnt not believe my complaint. But the owners operate their own independent farm stand here on Saturday morning, typically. They have a whole host of locally grown fruits and vegetables, as well as delicious baked goods that they make right there on site. Sometimes, they have ridiculously amazing deals, like this morning, when I was able to buy fresh homegrown watermelon and cantaloupe for $1 each. Nothing wrong with them, beautiful produce, for a dollar each. That's crazy! Lovely farm atmosphere, chickens clucking all over the place, a friendly farm cat, and the owner and his wife are just wonderful friendly people to chat with. This place is the definition of an instagrammable summer spot! As the name implies, this is a HUGE…read moresunflower field, and the sights are incredible. Nothing beats yellow heads of petals, taller than you are, as far as the eye can see! Well, depending on how tall you are, they either tower over you, or are the size of your peers. There is a nice path through the main field, with plenty of opportunity to snap beautiful photos of yourself, your family and friends, or the flowers themselves. Be prepared to bring rubber boots or closed toed shoes if it has rained recently, as the pathway is in a field of dirt! There is a second side where there are all sorts of photo opp items to see, including my favorite, a bright pink tractor! There's painted boards with cut outs for your face, and lots of farm equipment dispersed throughout. You can grab food from the multiple food trucks/stands on the property, sit and eat under their many large tents with tables and benches. There are the typical trinkets and toys for kids to purchase, and they have a big mining setup, which my kid absolutely adores. He spent over 20 minutes just playing with the water! There are other activities throughout the season but we didn't check them out, we opted for a quieter trip where we could walk, and the crowd was smaller. It does get crowded, so plan accordingly! If you have children who can't walk too far, bring a wagon or stroller, but make sure it has big, rugged wheels! And of course, you can choose to cut your own flowers in the cutting field, or you can grab a pre-cut bouquet if you prefer. Also, you can feel free to dry the seeds from the flowers you purchase, and plant them next year- keeping a sunflower patch in perpetuity from just one trip- but that's the gardener in me giving advice. I personally grow a variety of sunflowers in my garden every year, but always enjoy coming to this place to see the majesty of all these flowers in one spot. This is a must do in the summer, at least once!
