We went to this nursery last May and bought a bunch of outdoor shrubs/bushes: 6 rhododendrons & 2 roses - spent almost $700 in total! Unfortunately, ALL 6 rhodies died by mid-Fall, and one of the roses didn't make it through the winter. We went back to Urban Roots, bringing receipts + pictures of the dead plants, still in their mulched beds next to healthy others. It was then we first learned that Urban Roots does not guarantee any of their plants, even $69 Rhododendron! This is surprising since most or all nurseries I've been to provide at least 1 year's worth, it's notable that I've only used once in 50+ years! Anyway, selection was solid with all the expected types, and the initial experience was fine. Just beware "PRODUCTS ARE SOLD AS IS!"

I bought $160.00 dollars worth of plants on 5/31, 1 out of the 6 Zinnia's I purchased immediately died within 2 days due to a broken stem that wasn't noticeable at purchase. Called them on 6/2, dealt with Amanda who was honestly the sweetest, kindest person I've ever dealt with besides the gentleman that owns the place and she saw the plant and even agreed with me that it was dead and let me exchange it. I planted the second one the same way as the 5 that are thriving and here we are 10 days later and my plant id app is saying it's sick meaning diseased. So thinking I would just exchange it again so they could see it.... Well this time when I called I got an older lady who literally refused to give me her name and stated "I do not need to give you my name" after I asked for her name at the end of the call because one she never introduced herself like I did and the tone of her voice and the way she talked to me was completely unacceptable and very unprofessional. This older woman told me "we don't do refunds so we're not going to give you another free plant, you are lucky you even got one free plant, for all we know it could have snapped at the base from the wind or you planted it wrong and all of our Zinnias are all healthy and doing great so obviously you did something wrong and killed the plant..." but even though there planted in window boxes and the rest are all thriving. I have spent thousands of dollars at this place and unfortunately with them I will never step foot again in that place. If the older gentleman saw me in person along with my significant other, he'd know exactly who we were. Also, if there are supposed signs in your place of business saying no refunds even though I'm not asking for a refund then maybe you should inform your employees regarding it. That older woman who answered my call should never be allowed to answer any calls nor work in a place of business that encounters customers. Absolutely unacceptable

Today it's filled with watering cans, garden implements, decorative bric a brac and some very pretty flowers. Any questions we had were answered promptly and courteously. Considering it's prime Main Street location, I expected the prices to be jacked up a bit. We were pleasantly surprised. The geraniums were a buck cheaper than the competitors and the hanging baskets were a steal. The place was attractive and nicely designed. They also do landscaping and patio installation. They seem to have grown, it would be nice to have a few more garden carts for easier plant selection.

However, lately we have been unhappy with the selection and/or prices at our favorite stores and started looking around. The Weeks' Nursery & Greenhouses was one of three new nurseries we discovered. Thanks to my partner, who has better instincts than mine. I would drive past it, thinking this location wasn't worth stopping. I won't write much about Weeks' Nursery. If you are looking for something more than just buying plants, be sure to visit them. A few times, the whole experience made my senses feel very close to magical moments. I even thought The Gray Cat would talk to me, but he was just showing me around.

I also noticed a few berry plants, including a goji berry plant that was $16.99. They had hanging baskets and potted flowers as well as some supplies in their little shop.
