This place was great!! We were staying at their hotel and we got into town very late, around maybe 8:15 I want to say (I think it says they close at 8 online but it must be 9). We had been hiking all day and driving here for the night. The town is on the reservation and this area didn't have much besides a couple fast food spots. We really didn't want fast food, so we saw only one restaurant in town open until 9 and were headed there. We were worried we wouldn't be able to check into our hotel so late though and we were going to pass it on the way to this other restaurant we found online. When we went inside to check in, we saw they had a restaurant and it looked good! I asked if we could eat there or if they were closed and he said yes if we went right away since they'd be closing in about 45 min. We just decided to stay there and eat and it was really nice! The hotel was really a Motel but surprisingly pretty nice, with this nice restaurant too! We were just glad to not have to eat fast food. They had a real menu, with reasonable prices and very large portions! We really could've shared a meal. I was only disappointed that they were out of their bread and fajitas which were their specialties. But, I got the quesadilla and it was one of the best veggie quesadillas I have ever had! Only thing to note, is that gratuity was automatically included. (We were a table of 4) so we didn't realize it and ended up tipping on top of that way extra! The service was normal but nothing crazy, so we were a little upset we basically paid for an entire extra meal without realizing it but that's our bad. We paid in cash because they were only accepting cash at that time and so I didn't really put together the "added gratuity" until we were splitting the bill after amongst ourselves, because I didn't write in a tip and sign since it was cash and not card. I just looked at the total. Sooo just be aware that your tip will already be added to your bill :) Definitely loved the food and loved that there was a no fast food option in the area and would recommend stopping here and even staying at the motel! read more

The meal was absolutely terrible. After a long day, 1/2 chicken, mashed potatoes and vegetables sounded good. The chicken and mashed potatoes were so dry, they were a choking Hazzard. we decided to go have dinner in the restaurant (don't even try that! Better get church Chiken in the corner) fod was awful, frozen flavorless food, they sell one steak and is not! Is a hamburger patty, worst dinner duringy trip, so bad decision get food there and prices, I can't write prices over here but belive me, like glamorous restaurant... ... You better go to McDonald's, at least there you know already you are eating trash, but at trash price. Not like here. read more

My son and I stayed at the Monument Valley Inn where this restaurant is located. Food was okay, but super pricy. Paid $50 for a really small portion of fajitas for me and a flat iron steak for my son that looked like one of those small packaged rib eyes they sell at the grocery store. Restaurant staff was very friendly, but I do not recommend this restaurant based on price and portion size. read more

So you are staying at the Kayenta Monument Valley Inn and you are wondering if you should check out the hotel restaurant. Well, as I've said in other reviews, if you find yourself in Kayenta, you have very limited dining options. If you want a sit-down meal with a lot of menu options, the Wagon Wheel is your best bet. That said, if you are looking for farm to table, chef-y food, you are out of luck here. Very few of the options I sampled are homemade. (The Navajo fry bread and the soups seemed to be, and I would recommend both as menu highlights.) The burgers appeared to be pre-pattied, the chicken breaded and frozen, etc. But, the food was cooked properly, the service was very good, the restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was appropriate for the area. The only truly bad part about the Wagon Wheel is that the mashed potatoes (one of three side options) are completely instant/powdered. (Probably a step below the potatoes served at KFC.) So, I recommend you get the French fries. They may be frozen, but they are definitely a step up from powdered potatoes. read more

The food was delicious and everything was appetizing and visually appealing. The service on the other hand was abysmal. We all had beverages and 1 water. It took five requests to get the water. The kids cups were taken before they were done. Not one single civilized salutation was uttered this morning by the server. Very disappointed. read more

The restaurant has a "Native American" feel to it with its decor. The service here is good; the employees were very friendly. The food came out fairly quick, but there weren't very many people waiting. They have a variety of food including American, Asian, Italian, Mexican, Navajo, and a salad bar. I had the Chicken Pot Pie which came in a bowl; there was a large amount of mashed potatoes at the bottom. There was a small amount of chicken and vegetable filling in the middle, and then the crust was laid on the top. Overall, it was tasty, but I don't think it's worth $14. However, I would definitely come back here for the good variety and service. read more

Kayenta doesn't have much of a selection for food but this one was bottom of the barrel for quality. We had some pan fried trout which was the most tasteless thing ever. Food was overpriced for the quality. In hindsight we should have gone to the Bashas' grocery store across the street and buy food we know we like. read more

This actually looked like the place to be at night with tour buses arriving after dark and the restaurant very busy after 8pm. The food looked native and smelt great. However. After eating the taco the diarrhoea and vomiting started about midnight. And has continued all day. Disappointed. Informed the staff the next morning and not a care was given. read more
