I came for the food and stayed for the views. Seafood is a must on any island. You can't get fresher fish than eating on the coast. And the wahoo didn't disappoint. High marks for the location and views! The food is also good, but similar to other pubs in the area. We are in Bermuda for vacation and staying in St George's. We've been here before for vacations, but haven't stayed in St George's. This time we wanted to concentrate on activities and restaurants at this end of the island and Wahoo's was high on our list. It's a perfect way to launch our vacation. Bermuda fish stew is the best, so of course we started with that and two dark and stormys. Important to the enjoyment of the stew is the sherry peppers sauce. My gosh that stuff is good. I want to buy some to take home. I could just eat the stew and be satisfied. For entrees I got the fried fish sandwich, which comes with lettuce, tomato on raisin bread toasted. You have to get the tartar sauce to complete it. It was good but the piece of fish was too small for the amount of bread. My husband got rockfish pan fried with beans and rice and Cole slaw. All of his meal was good but the beans and rice were my favorite. My fish sandwich came with fries and I wish I had substituted the beans and rice. Wahoo's is a great spot and it's popular. There was a cruise ship docked at the Dockyards, so there were a ton of cruise ship tourists out and about. Wahoo's had a crowd! We watched one table of four come and sit down, look at the menu and then leave. Food is expensive in Bermuda and I think they got a bit of sticker shock from the prices. Aggressively mediocre food at Bermudan prices is about the best way to put it. Everything is expensive in Bermuda as anyone should know, so if you're going to spend your money, I'd look harder for better options. I had the fish chowder and the fisherman's platter. None of it was bad, but none of it was great, either. Service wasn't exactly prompt, but it wasn't super slow, either. Overall, just a very meh experience. The only positive I'd say is that the portion sizes were decent. EDIT: After completing this review, I saw I got a Wine Bar badge. I'm not sure how this got classified as a wine bar, but I wouldn't recommend going to Wahoo's for that - stick to the beachside seafood joint usuals of beers and frozen drinks. read more

This was another nice lunch in St. George. We ordered the bread basket with pesto, fish chowder (I didn't like this but hubs did) and wahoo nuggets. Our server was so very sweet. The food was really good and it was a beautiful view with our meal. read more

Food is outstanding, service is friendly, and ambiance is relaxed and beautiful. Drinks are very refreshing. Top tip, sit by the railing overlooking the water and you'll see some large beautifully colored fish swim up looking for you to toss some food over to them. read more

It's Restaurant Weeks in Bermuda, and we are trying as many spots as we can over our extended trip here. Four of us had dinner on a cold windy night in January. The deck was closed in with clear curtains, so we could enjoy the view in comfort. They also had small fire pits inside to take the edge off. I tried the Restaurant Weeks dinner special, with lion fish tempura and pineapple salsa for a starter, lobster and rockfish pot pie, and chocolate bread pudding for dessert ($49 for 3-course). First time having lion fish, and it was outstanding. The pot pie was also very good, and quite filling. The bread pudding was also very good (even when shared with others). Decent drinks menu with good selection of booze, wine and beer. Service was attentive and friendly. read more

I eat here from time to time - generally as a "date night" for my husband and I. We always get the bbq rockfish ribs and NEVER have we experienced disappointment. We have tried various appetizers. They are great too. However, the drinks need some tweaking. Perhaps they can try blending fresh ingredients with some of the pre-prepared mixes. Otherwise, the drinks are overpriced for boxed mediocrity. Disappointing. At best. Service wasn't slow. It was interminably slow. The restaurant wasn't busy but once we were seated, the staff decided to they had better things to do than their jobs. They finally (after some polite prompting verging on begging) served our food. The food, other than the fish sandwich, was mediocre. When we received our bill and noticed an overcharge (ie $18 per fish sandwich) were told it was because the fish we ordered wasn't standard (still not sure what that means). Cruising to Bermuda was the least planned trip I've ever taken, and it showed; I was a bit disappointed with so many things, so much of the week. The lack of planning however, led to a series of events which brought me here to Wahoos and it was the best day of the vacation, hands down. It all started when we arrived in port, sound asleep and slow to enjoy the first day of sunshine in true loser fashion. The idea was to maybe rent a bike and head to the top of the island which turned out to be a much longer trek than anticipated. As it were, we stocked up on free booze from the ship, bright a big stay-cold bottle with ice, threw it over the shoulder and ventured out. We walked around the port and the fort... grabbed a pair of sun-glasses and regrouped. The decision was to go back on board, order 4 more claws each (they weren't popping the cans open) and venture back out. All the drinking led to a pee break when I moseyed over to a small group and asked some dumb question about curfew for the ship, they quickly said we aren't on the cruise... when I gave a small confused look and said I really knew you were going to say that, if course I ask the only group NOT on the cruise... the woman I spoke to just happened to live on the island and was going back up north on a ferry, she was very well known on the island so we just waited with her and joined them on their journey back home. Learned all the things, got to where we were going, all smiles and open exploring eyes. First a church, then a breeze by wahoos, then the neighborhoods, the unfinished building, twhite horse pee stop, and a thought that I'm definitely going back to wahoos, for no real reason other than wanting something that wasn't just fried bar food. Turns out Wahoos was always the right choice! Knowing Bermuda was pricey af it didn't phase me when ordering one fish taco was $12-15. I think it was 2 for $22 or something and while that sounds like you'd never order it, I did. When they came to the table I thought to myself, that's so big I'm full from just looking at it (that's what she said) I took a quick bite of the large chunks of fish that looked like a chicken kebab... it honestly tasted like it too! I swear to you this isn't a "it tastes like chicken" line of bull... I swear I would have believed it was a very tender piece of chicken. This was the heartiest, meatiest fish I've ever eaten. It was Wahoo, native to the island, and it was fantastic! The shell was homemade, the taco was absolutely delicious, filling as heck, and I was full on one. Things were huge but so good and so expensive that I ate the second one and boy was I pleased. Since I basically gave you a trip review I'll also say it was nice to sit on the water, it was a very neighborhood-y feel as it's the furthest town from the tourism port. And it's just a quaint quiet area at the time we went. The sun had peeled through and burst on the scene a little late in the day so perhaps it gets more vibrant with life and activity but I for one was glad it wasn't. As I said, Bermuda is expensive, they import everything and don't have an export at all; I suppose they catch fish? I hope... but I don't know. Everyone seemed friendly, a bunch of ex-pats just loving their rich lives I suppose. Don't cruise here, fly, but if you do cruise, and do it all-inclusively, find a way to pack booze and snacks and head out to a drunken, money saving, smile inducing, sun soaked day on one of the bluest water islands l, maybe ever. read more

Wahoo's is by far my favourite restaurant in the island. Chef Alfred and his team never disappoint with their creations. The fish chowder is to die for. The barbecued rockfish rib is my favourite. That said, I've tried practically everything on the menu and I am yet to be disappointed. Tried the amber jack nuggets for the first time tonight. Let's just say, it won't be my last time. This place is A-OK! We were walking through the street when we over hear some peppy music and laughter. Everything on the strip was shut down past 6:30 so we were surprised when we heard music. We came and sat in the back patio and bar area. Those that were out there look to be locals and they were inviting us to come-on-in and eat there. They went on about the food there being super yummy and the daiquiris that the patrons had, looked really good after walking a few miles to get into town. The bartender was super busy, but friendly when we he got a chance to come over. We ordered a beer, a mango daiquiri, the Wahoo fish taco and the fish nuggets on the appetizer menu. The Mango Daiquiri was on PAR! It was just what I was dreaming of to cool down from the beating down heat we had endured on the hike. The fish taco and nuggets came out around the same time. They were A-OK. Nothing ground breaking and for the price of it and the reviews from the patrons; I was really hoping to have some pop or zap. Overall the experience was great for what we were looking for! I saw the restaurant in the front was water facing with great views, so would be a great place to try as the sun comes up or goes down. They also do a happy hour on Fridays for two hours, so I would suggest checking it out then. read more

My boyfriend & I stumbled upon Wahoo Bistro & Patio while vacationing in Bermuda. While passing by, we noticed a large crowd around lunchtime, so we gave it a quick Google search, saw good reviews, and decided to stop in. We were seated in the back patio area right on the water. The view from our table was beautiful, and there were large fish that swam right beneath our table. The waitresses told us that they prefer we feed the fish our scraps when we are done with our meal, which was pretty fun (The waitresses were very very nice, but a bit slow on the service). For our meals, we both had to try Wahoo's namesake. I had the Grilled Wahoo ($24.50) that came with a side salad & sweet potato fries. My boyfriend, who is not a big fish eater, had the Wahoo Nuggets ($19) that came with fries & a side salad. We both agreed that our meals were absolutely delicious! The fish was fresh, tasty, and seasoned very well. I definitely recommend if in St. George's. read more

She instead was sitting inside in her phone. 3 other parties were seated got drinks and one even ordered. But it was obvious this waitress either had a bias, having a bad day, or just lazy. Wow! I love this place. Best food I've had in a while. Wahoo nuggets were fantastic and they make their own Tartar sauce that is out of this world, and I don't like tartar sauce. Great location on the water in old St. Georges. Great staff and service. A little pricey but it is expected on an Island like Bermuda. Everything is imported to the island. Price is well in average with the surrounding restaurants. Even if it the food was bad, which it is far from, it would still be expensive. It's an island 500 miles from the US. It is expected. Bermuda is only 20-26 miles long and on north end is St. George's which is the old historic capital of Bermuda. We scootered over there to sightsee, shop and have lunch. We knew Wahoo fish was a favorite in the area so we chose this spot and being on the water only made it nicer. We ordered a sampler platter (grilled, fried, fish burger) and it was all good. Our native Bermudian server said the serving were large so we split it and it was enough but not till full ($30). Our friends ordered a fish taco and a smoked fish pate with veggies plate. Everyone seemed pleased with their orders. The only thing with our ice tea drinks ($4) when we asked for refills we were charged again! Who knew and when I brought it up the waitress said there are no free refills in Bermuda! read more

Our expensive and overpriced lunch at Wahoo's Bistro & Patio was disappointing. Although the fish tacos were HUGE, the fish was very under-seasoned and the slaw was very wet and sloppy. I made a mess trying to eat the tacos and the tortillas fell apart because the slaw was so wet. My wife had the wahoo nuggets, which were also under-seasoned. Fish tacos were $24, wahoo nuggets were $21, and the kid's grilled cheese and fries was $12.50. Too expensive for what it was. If the food had been great I'd gladly have paid it, but it's also sad when you encounter the bad food and high price combination. It was pleasant to eat on their outdoor patio and the service was pretty good, but I wouldn't recommend Wahoo's. read more

Our waitress Keisha (terrific) pointed our group to Rockfish ribs (seared barbecued rockfish with a spicy sauce), wahoo bites (also barbecued), octopus stew and jerk wahoo wraps. The food was fresh, flavorful. The staff was friendly and smart. This place was recommended by our cab driver after we landed (Hi Ivan) and our bartender at the Saint Regis - just a reminder to ask locals and bartenders. They know they best places. My wife and I went to St George's for the day and stumbled on Wahoo's. First, the bartender, McKayla, we a great server and told us some of the best places to visit in St George's. She's born and raised here; she knows. Second, the atmosphere is very relaxed and beachy with a beautiful view and great breeze. My wife had the fish sandwich on raisin bread. Fabulous! I have the Wahoo ceviche and it was INCREDIBLE. If you want to try authentic Fish Chowder as well, try Wahoo's. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to St George's read more

Arrived here earlier this month on the Disney Magic Cruise Ship's maiden voyage from New York to Bermuda. During a driving tour, our guide, Quinton Bean brought our party of 8 (including 4 young children) to this venue for some good local seafood. We sat in their waterfront open patio and overall enjoyed the nice view and their food offerings including the wahoo chowder and wahoo sampler. They also have some of the basic kid menu favorites. Service was friendly and courteous enough so we left satisfied and enjoyed our only meal in Bermuda. read more

The best! My dad and I were on a father-daughter trip in Bermuda and went to Wahoo's for lunch. Our waitress, an older spicy lady, was incredible blunt and hysterical. We were at the end of the outdoor seating, got a little wet when it started to rain, but were promptly moved inside more. The food is delicious, lighter than other spots, and fresh. The atmosphere was dive-bar, island vibe, which was really fund. It's not touristy, which was also really nice. Definitely recommend!! read more

I am 5 1/2 months pregnant and have been enjoying the area near Wahoo's. My fiancé and I walked from the Saint Catherine's to the Unfinished Church to Wahoo's. Being pregnant, and having a tough pregnancy at that, after that walk, I was really looking forward to a bite. We were made to stand at the "host stand" for over 5 minutes while the bartender (who said she is also management) continued to pour incoming drink orders rather than greeting and seating us. Once we were finally seated, it took forever to get any service. Multiple servers walked near our table without even so much as a greeting. I work in the restaurant service industry in the U.S., and it's pretty standard to seat guests within 2 minutes of arrival. Additionally, a server should great a table and grab drink orders within 3 minutes of seating. We waited at our table nearly 9 minutes before addressing management. The timer photo I have attached was started 2 minutes after we were seated. When I approached management looking for service, she recommend I be patient, as "9 minutes isn't that long to wait" and they are "very busy". The server who helped us apologized, the manager did not. If you are looking for quick and friendly service, I don't recommend this restaurant based solely on the attention we've received before even having he opportunity to order. Between waiting to be seated (at one of the many empty tables) and waiting to be greeted from our seat, we waited for almost 15 minutes. That's unacceptable in ANY country unless all tables are seated and there is a wait list. read more
