The Best place to get sushi from on this side of town! Beyond amazing quality of food!read more

GIRLS DINNER WITH DAD ADVENTURE!!!…read more Me and my two girls tried Wakame Sushi and Hibachi for dinner tonight. Newer place in Auburndale with a nice interior aesthetic or ambiance. Modern, but similar to most Sushi places of this level. We started with ordering our drinks. The server was definitely young and new to being a server. Not a complaint, just not at a high level of service knowledge as of yet. I asked for no ice in my Mt Dew 3 times and she still brought it with ice. She was very friendly, pleasant and attentive. She just needs to work on her listening to a customer and following through with the request. I'm sure she will get better with time. I say this b/c she also forgot the soup for the table next to us that ordered the hibachi. We then ordered our food. 1 chicken yakisoba, 1 Philadelphia roll add cream cheese, 1 clear soup, 1 Cold Maki roll & to finish an app of chicken Tempura!!! Check out my pics of the menu for details. The chicken yakisoba had very little sauce which resulted in zero flavor. The portion size was nice, just wished there was more flavor and more sauce would have helped that. It was very dry and bland. The Philly roll was good exactly what it was supposed to be and fresh!!! All the Sushi was super fresh. The clear soup was bland and tasted a little in the watery side. Not much flavor to it. The Cold Maki roll was good, but for 15.50 I felt I could have made this at home for all 5 of us at around 30$, but it was good and I did enjoy it, just not the price. At 12$ this would be a better Food to Value ratio. The Chicken Tempura app had the best Food to Value ratio at 7.50 for 3 pieces of perfectly tempura cooked chicken, 1 broccoli, 1 slice sweet potato & zucchini, 1 mushroom and of course the tempura onion ring. I enjoyed this the most out of everything we had!!! I would definitely go back, but I would definitely order other items to try and only reorder the Tempura!!! I will update my review next time we go, but for now it's a 3 Star place to us!!! AS ALWAYS TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!!

I loved how the customer service here was very helpful. The rolls are priced great, my spicy tuna was $7.95 and the special rolls are between $13-$15 so not bad at all and they were all filling! I ate two rolls and was satisfied. I love it here at night the ambiance is low lighting and nice for dates or friends to talk. The habachi is also well price for everything that comes on the plate. My favorite thing here is the boba tea taro flavor. This place is small and Tucked away so don't miss it!

Parking is out front or on the see around behind. There is a patio if you want to sit outside and a trim isn't brewing. Decor is clean typical small Japanese strip mall restaurant. Service was also impeccable. Seated immediately and my water glass as kept full. Menu is rather large but tonight I was on. Mission for rolls. Thank goodness there are pix in the menu and I picked two that not only looked good but sounded great. They were delicious. The flavors blended together nicely. Mission accomplished.

We LOVE the beef tongue. So tender, probably the best beef tongue we've ever had in the nation. The dessert never disappoints. A perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Kitchen is also open with a bar that looks directly into the kitchen as you dine. Drinks are simple. Plum wine, Japanese whisky options, beer, and soft drinks. Also a few mixed drinks, but again nothing crazy or exciting. Food was fresh and pretty good. The tuna sashimi appetizer was fantastic! The sauce is like a yum-yum and black sesame blend. Incredible. The bowl was wayyyyyy too sweet for me. Too much of the sauce. But the rice and chicken were pretty good. The pork belly is grilled and not seasoned much. So added it to the bowl to calm the sweet and it worked well. Overall, this place isn't worth queuing for, but still pretty good considering its location. Solid 6/10 for me.

The sushi rice here is the best I've had since Hatsuhana. The rice makes a huge difference. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing. Although I wish there was a bit more variety, and the cost was a bit high (edamame, 4 rolls and 2 beers was just over $100), this is definitely my new place.

The water here is clean tasting. To save the turtles they do not provide straws. I usually request the tempura and CA roll dine in and the rest is packed to go. (I get full fast). I always request to replace the side salad with the miso soup instead and they are ok with doing that. The tempura is lightly battered (2 shrimp, 2 green bean, eggplant , sweet potato). The tempura sauce is delicious. The CA roll is ok I mean its krab, avocado. Nothing fancy. It is rolled in masago. Staff here they have tendency to forget to refill water so try to request 2-3 glasses in advance when they ask for drink orders. Always check out the menu board - The specials can be interesting. My fave on that board that they offer sometimes is the beef tendon with tofu for like $6 ish. Love it with a side of white rice . The sauce is delicious. Reminds me of beef gyudon sauce. This place can get busy with japanese customers - especially lunch hours. The lunch bento specials only are for lunch. Dinner do not have bento specials. They are closed for summer vacation and will re open on June 19th - I am not sure the start date of the vacation - I know its sometime early June.
