My partner and I had high hopes for this spot. We loved the outdoor space and lighting when we rolled up at opening. We were excited to be the first ones there and get some fresh baked goods. Unfortunately we weren't greeted in a kind manner, the cashier did not seem excited to have to interact with us and was quick with trying to check us out. We gave her the benefit of the doubt, as you never know what is going on with people, and sat in the garden to give her space while she worked on our order. After about 10 minutes we realized our food and drink were just sitting on the pick up counter, she didn't ever have the courtesy to let us know it was ready and we were the only people there....We ordered the veggie quiche which was quite bland, and also the peach strawberry coffee cake which was dry considering it should have been baked day of. The only thing that was good, was their drip coffee which they outsource from strictly organic. It is sad walking away from a local cafe feeling like you wasted money. read more

We stopped here today on our way up to Mt. Baker and I'm really glad we did. Excellent coffee and oh so yummy snacks. In addition to the standard coffee house selections, they had a wonderful assortment of cookies and things. The snickerdoodles are fantastic, with buttercream frosting. Amazing. They even had fresh baked doggie biscuits and we had our dogs with us, so they got treats too. The owner/baker was there along with another, I think, employee and both were super nice. Seating was all outdoors, which was great since today was absolutely gorgeous! Bakery is located on a side street parallel to the main road. Not terribly hard to find at the end of the strip in Glacier. Will definitely stop here again next time we head to Mt. Baker. :-) They also seem to have a nice selection of breakfast options and a couple of sandwiches as well, including some vegetarian-friendly fare. read more

wake'n bakery has good vibes! This is a must top for a delicious coffee, and a yummy breakfast burrito on the way up to Mt. baker! I had a latte, and a chorizo breakfast burrito and neither disappointed, and the coffee exceeded expectations! It must have been made with whole milk and it was creamy and good. The burrito hit the spot, and tasted good. Next time I plan on trying some of their baked goods! This is a must stop on the way up to baker. read more

We stopped in for a coffee and a snack. The coffee drinks were great and so was the breakfast burrito. Decent quality food and quite a few gluten free options. No wifi was kinda a bummer since the food took a little while. All in all it was good. read more

I have a cabin on the first foothill (Vedder Mt.) on the way to Mt. Baker. I ski, hike and just spend a huge amount of time up in those foothills. The best part of the trip is bypassing Maples Falls and other stops to go directly to Wake 'n Bakery for my Ice Quad espresso and scone. I have had their cookies and other treats offered in their well stocked sugar shack. Always a smile and super high quality products consistently offered at great prices. I love taking their stuff hiking and just enjoyed java and cookies up at Artist Point (via motorcycle). Sometimes I take them to Lake Ann for an overnight trip. Sugar is most appreciated in the back country. I have been a fan of this place since it opened next to the ski shop. Their new (3 yrs) place is awesome with seating, summer breeze/shade and relax mode all around. Worth the trip, every-time and way better than anything else outside of Bellingham (or Vancouver). read more

I have stopped here several times since recently shopping for and buying a cabin in Glacier. GREAT coffee! I have had cookies and a breakfast burrito, and gotten a dog cookie, which my dog enjoyed. The breakfast burrito was a little too spicy for me. Not on the main highway, but there are signs. Really recommend this place for the coffee to stay awake for the drive home. read more

It would be better to walk all the way to Maple Falls than go to this awful place. They are insolent to elders and quite unhinged, frankly. I came in the middle of the day and assumed they were open, as they bizarrely had a few hundred full-sized light bulbs and spot lights on outside in full sunshine, but the door I found was locked. Looking for another entrance I found an order window and knocked. A young man came out and yelled at me "we are closed!!" I said "oh, I didn't see a closed sign and then why do you have all these lights on outside?" He yells at me "GO AWAY! GET OUT! LEAVE!" Shocked, I hesitated a moment and then asked, "what was that again?" He repeated the same and yells "we are trying to work! Now GET LOST!!" This is how they treat their elders. I was already on my way. I certainly will never be returning and I urge all the Snowline residents to NEVER patronize this place. read more

This was my first trip to the bakery and I'd heard wonderful things about it so I had high expectations. My kids got hot cocoa with whipped cream AND marshmallows so they were totally impressed! I got the soup of the day and a pumpkin muffin for later. Delicious homemade soup and the best pumpkin muffin I've ever had. I am not exaggerating when I say Wake 'N Bakery was one of the best things about our trip to Mount Baker! It's the one destination that we insisted on visiting each day we were up there. A little caffeinated oasis in the middle of Glacier, Washington, the cafe is off the main drag. There's a relaxing little porch with a nice view where you can watch life pass by and greet some of the friendly local dogs and humans. The owners, Court and Rebecca, are very welcoming. The espresso is great, even by Seattle standards. Such a relief when you're out in the boondocks. And the homemade baked goods (my vice of choice) are to die for. My favorite is the Orange Cookie with Cardamom Icing and my husband's is the Chocolate-dipped macaroon. They've got chocolate chip cookies, white chocolate chip cookies with lemon zest (yum!), peanut butter cookies, hemp cookies, savory scones, etc. They also have some fun locally-made tshirts, sweatshirts, ceramics, and other merchandise. The one downside I can think of is that you may have to hike or ski an extra few miles each day to work off the many baked temptations. I also hope they may add some more food to their menu in the future, like soups and salads, etc. Given the good ingredients they use, I'm sure they'd be delicious. read more

I have gone to this cafe several times since moving here about a year ago. Their coffee is spectacular, and don't ignore the flavor add ins such as lavender, peppermint, and peanut butter to put in your drink. Their homemade pastries are to die for, especially the rhubarb bars they have. Also remember to pick up a breakfast burrito, although it's unfortunate that they use microwaves, (really guys? I can do that at home.) it's a delicious burrito that at least tastes as if it was in an oven. Definitely my favorite bakery around here in northwest washington. read more

This was such a pleasant stop on the way to Mt Baker Ski Resort! Right off the road to the resort, its a good stop for coffee and a snack whether its a vegan muffin or breakfast burrito. The breakfast burritos might be a tad small but they are so tasty and delicious! Its a perfect snack right before hitting the slopes. Coffee was great as well. Theres outdoor seating and an upstairs loft, which gives it plenty of room to accommodate people, although you might be a little cramped while ordering. Definitely worth the stop! read more

This is a beautiful and lovely little coffee shop hidden away off the Mt. Baker Highway. And I was ever so thankful they were there as we were camping on some private property near by and coffee is really necessary. The environment is very clean and they do use organic products. Also the staff is SUPER nice. The coffee is really decent (I am really, really picky though... could have been a little richer in flavor.) I would give this place four stars, but I had a really not so great experience with the food. Both myself and my friend with me ordered a spicy breakfast burrito. DO NOT ORDER THE SPICY BREAKFAST BURRITO. It is so damn spicy that we were both crying while eating it. And we are spice junkies. (Not afraid of four stars when getting Thai food) I can not believe that someone would ruin all the delicious caramelized onions and yummy potatoes in the burrito with that much spice. I'm sure the rest of the food was good, and I just didn't have the heart to tell the nice guy behind the counter that it was just too hot. Next time I go, I'll try something else. read more

As the only bakery in town this takes the cake. It's surprising how many locals stopped in a half hour interval, with their dogs, and they all said hi. You'd imagine the town is much smaller but there are so many people passing by each morning and they surely love their coffee and the breakfast burritos at wake'n bake. read more

Been coming to the area over 10 years. Most places here, the staff kind of eyes you suspiciously, especially if you're here on the off-season. I have no idea why this is, but it's almost always the case; we're about as normal looking as can be--maybe that's why? Anyway, they don't do that here (or Graham's restaurant), which I appreciate. The locals eating here may give you the stink eye, but never the staff--we've always felt sincerely welcome here. The coffee has a very unique and interesting taste, and the baked goods are outstanding. My only complaint is that they don't open earlier, but that's life. read more
