I am a sweet wine fan and they did have several to choose from - moscato, peach, blackberry, strawberry, apple, sangria, and cranberry. I loved the flight boards and how they served them. Unfortunately that is where the joy ends. Every single one of their wines tasted like watered down kool-aid or fruit juice - or as Scott said - home kit wines. I tasted no hint of wine in any of their wines. I was so nervous about getting blackberry merlot since merlot is a dry wine, but it was just a light blackberry juice. The only one we remotely enjoyed was the peach. Again, lovely winery, lovely indoor and outdoor seating, great hosts, but the wine is just not my style or preference. I do however recommend going to give it a try since you may love it or just a good winery to visit and hang out at.

We had a lovely experience at grandfather Vineyard recently while on vacation. We decided to come…read moreon a whim while staying in seven devils and enjoyed lovely life, music, and lots of local vendor foods and treats. The grounds were absolutely beautiful with ample seating, both near the water and across the yard near the stage. The staff was great about consistently cleaning up to keep away bees, or any sort of other pests. It was lovely to see so many families and even dogs which made it a more casual and fun experience overall. We tried the dry flight and overall really enjoyed it! We are usually red wine drinkers, but overall actually preferred the whites instead. Only negative was that they didn't have any of the umbrellas set up at the tables and the sun was quite bright and hot that day so it was difficult to find a location with shade and a table. We had to choose two chairs under some shade and use a third chair as a temporary table which made our experience a little less comfortable. We ended up purchasing two bottles of the white wines from our flight and would highly recommend others coming back in the future.

The scenery is everything and more. Nothing like sipping wine in the mountains. The wine ambassador, Hope, was the perfect person to give us informative information on the vineyard and wines. She was super sweet, knowledgeable and so much fun! The group enjoyed her so much. We had a tasting of 5 wines, and the wines were luscious and complex. One of my favorites was the 2025 Rose. It's a blend of Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. If you would like to indulge in a nice afternoon or evening by sipping on some lovely wines with beautiful views, check out this place. This was my second time visiting but this time we booked a tour and we had such a great time. The…read moreowner Jeff lead us through the tour and shared so much about their history, family, and the process of their craft. The property has been in their family for four generations since the 1930s and was originally a tobacco farm. Really cool to see them preserving their property and family history and keeping NC agriculture thriving. Our tour included a behind the scenes look at the cellar where the magic happens and it was so cool to listen to what the process is like. His wife does all the graphics and designs and they are lovely. Just a really special family centered place. We are not big wine people actually but our favorite was the bottle rocket which was bubbly and citrusy. The atmosphere here is out of this world just such a beautiful view. The tasting room and the patio and deck have great seating options. They had some live music the night we went as well. Very cozy and relaxing time!
