Out like this Walgreens my only issue is finding things that I've seen at walgreens.com. I'll call the store to ensure they have it before I trusted myself all the way down there just to find the never had it in stock or the haven't had it in a while. That's annoying. The wait for prescriptions at this location is insane. I had to come back the next morning and still had to wait. Lucky me because people started to roll in and it was not even8 o'clock. It's typically well stocked and a clean store and the customer service is fine. No complaints the wait is just crazy. read more

This pharmacy was understaffed prior to rite aid closing and now it's just barely functional. Even beforehand the staff was rude and the pharmacists filled prescriptions when *they* wanted and not when they were do. If there are 31 days in a month and they fill your prescription on the 15th well...you're SOL. They literally shrug when you point that out. I thought that going to the pharmacy was an experience that everyone hated and that all pharmacy employees acted like you were a burden until I switched and realized that it's just this place. Not a great experience. Came for a vaccine after making an appointment online. I filled out all the forms online ahead of time as well because the website said it would save time at the pharmacy. This is false. When I checked in in person, I had to provide all my basic information (name, address, etc.) orally while someone typed it in. Then they handed us clipboards and pens with the consent form I filled out online. The chairs were all a little dirty or ripped and arranged oddly. Pharmacy customers were lining up in front of me when I was sitting which I didn't love. Someone else asked to have the locked Tylenol case opened and was sent to the front of the store after being told the bell by the locked case doesn't work. About a half hour after we arrived, a family who was already checked in and waiting got called into the back for their shots. We arrived 15 minutes early as instructed online. It was 45 minutes before we got our shots and then we had to stick around for 15 minutes in case of a reaction. I'm doubtful anyone here could respond to an emergency with due speed. read more

Tried again for a prescription fill specifically because it was the only pharmacy in the area with drive thru. Nope! It was closed. The line took about 45 minutes to get through. They did not have my script and had not contacted me to let me know there was an issue, even though they had the script for 3 days! Try CVS. They've been consistently professional and reliable. read more

Yikes! If you can make it through the horde of beggars, drunks and drug addicts outside asking for money your journey has started. Expect a long wait, like a Border wait (heading to and from Canada). When you do get to the pharmacy expect either more wait time, confusion or both. read more

I would rate 0 stars if that was an option. The Walgreens pharmacy provides absolutely no service due to Rite aid closing. They are "overwhelmed." Horrendous. Rude and unknowledgeable staff. Arbitrarily close pharmacy for lunch. Today my husband had surgery. At 930 am his doc called in 2 scripts. When I arrived at 1 to pick them up the counter was closed for lunch. I then drove back an hour later to be told they only filled 1 of the 2 scripts and to "come back later." I asked when the script would be ready and the tech replied "maybe tomorrow. " My husband needs his script today. I then waited 4 more hours and called the store. I spent 58 minutes on hold and was transferred 4 times. A central location not in Buffalo was one of the parties I was transferred to who provided zero help. each staff member repeated that they are overwhelmed. After waiting for nearly a hour on the phone (while listening to personal pharmacy info regarding names phone numbers and scripts of people being waited on) the person on the other end of the phone who worked in photo processing told me " don't have any". What does this even mean? Don't have any drugs! This is appalling. Please save yourself aggravation. Do not use Walgreens on Delaware and North for your pharmacy. Oh and by the way , when walking in the store you have to push past 2 men asking for money Who are lying on the ground in front of the door. Walgreens must go. read more

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. They told me my prescription would be ready in 90 minutes. I waited in the drive through line for about an hour, while waiting got yelled at by a disgruntled man, and when I got up to the front, not only did I have to wait another 10 minutes, they told me I needed to go to West Seneca for my prescription. Just plain horrible. Do not go here if you want to maintain your sanity. read more

Pharmacy is TERRIBLE. I put in a request for a new prescription on the 18th, it is now the 28th. The app keeps telling me they're trying to get in touch with my prescriber, but it's been over a week now and I haven't heard anything, despite being signed up for text notifications etc. I call into the pharmacy explain the the lady I'm looking for an update on my prescription, she's like "ok please hold" I'm on hold for a good 5 or so minutes then suddenly a different lady picks up and I now have to explain the process all over again, then SHE tells me to hold and I get transferred to another man with a strong accent who PROCEEDS TO TELL ME that they never even ended up putting my prescription order in to begin with. I explain to him I put in a request on the app and then he changes the story to "oh well we reached out to them but we haven't heard back". I ask him why I wasn't alerted about this sooner since I'm now nearly out of medication and he says "oh well you should of signed up for the texts notifications if you're not signed up for text notifications I can't call every single customer-" I explained to him that I am in fact signed up for text notifications and almost always get notifications for my orders if they're delayed or anything. And that if that did actually put the request in when I submitted it on the app (despite him telling me at the beginning of the call they hadn't submitted it yet) then I should of gotten at text notification saying it was delayed. He paused for a minute then proceeds to tell me "well it's not my fault call your prescriber and tell them to speed up the request" Honestly this is the worst pharmacy. Most of the time the pharmacist's are pretty nice but this dude was a complete asshole. Put a horrible look on the Walgreens franchise as an employee of theirs. read more

While the location is nice and the fact that it's open 24-hours is great, unfortunately this Walgreens was out of the ice pack I was looking for to quell an injury around 11pm. Can't fault them for being out of a single item, though. Otherwise, it seems even the pharmacy is open 24 hours. Their is fresh milk and eggs and a plethora of items. I find myself needed to make a late night run every now and then and the store is always clean and pleasant and there's a Redbox outside. If you're looking for a last minute item, whether it's shampoo, gel or rubber shoes for your trip or any medical necessity; you may be able to find it here! read more

PHARMACY REVIEW ONLY This pharmacy is terrible. Where do you get your employees from? Zero professionalism, zero customer service skills, zero insurance knowledge of what a secondary insurance is and employees are slow as molasses. Here are my top three incidents but there are so many more. 1. Drove to the window, man bending over and messing with the register. Fifteen minutes later I ask if he is going to help me. He says no he doesn't work there; he is fixing the registers. Ummm what? Let's try putting up a sign next time so people like me don't waste their time and wait for nothing. Or close the shade. 2. I walk in to pick up a prescription and notice the copay was higher than normal. I ask the person at the window, was my secondary insurance billed? I get the confused look. I say, I have two insurances and every time I come in here, I have to go through this. It took 30 minutes for her and the pharmacist to figure it out. I worked in the medical field for several years and that is basic knowledge. 3. Tonight, I drive and wait for my turn at the window. Twenty minutes later, I finally get to the front. What happens next? The girl at the window lowers the shade right in front of my face. I was livid. I say, "are you fn kidding me right now?" She answers, "I know but we are short staffed and can't service both the window and people at the counter." What does that tell me? This one is a few sandwiches short of a picnic. I park my car and go in and speak to the manager of the store. I let him know it was unprofessional for his employee to do that and what terrible customer service. He said he would talk to her. Guess what? I had to wait in line again. SMH Obviously, this girl had no common sense. I was a urology practice manager for years and this would NOT have been tolerated at all. I'm sorry we are understaffed and even though you have been in the waiting room for 20 minutes, the doctor can't see you. Her actions made no sense whatsoever. I have finally had enough. I'm moving my prescription elsewhere. Maybe the issue is you pay your techs crap wages. If you paid people, you would get quality employees. Train your people right and the pharmacy might not be such a nightmare. I won't hold my breath. I never had an issue with the cashiers at the front. Great people. read more

For the most part this is a great Walgreens. It's great to have a 24hr store in the heart of Allentown. Even the pharmacy is open 24hrs, so if you happen to go to the emergency room at any time of night, you don't have to wait to grab a prescription. I've had experience with the pharmacy and they are very efficient which is great. I got a new prescription one morning with a new doctor and my meds were ready within 10 minutes. For the store itself they are always clean and well stocked. There's not usually a ton of staff available but they do well on making sure the lines aren't long and taking forever. read more

This Walgreens is nicely located on Delaware and North. Great location. You can drive in from either Delaware or North, so easy access. Parking lot is ok. Not the bets ever, but fine, and well plowed this winter when I have been. Given the location, they are a busy place. Especially at lunchtime. Large prescription filling area, and usually people waiting, but it moves fast. The pharmacy employees are super nice and know their client group well, which is a great thing. This is a real "neighborhood drugstore" as in the 1950s (although its more modern than that). But walking in its much more personal than the other Walgreens around town. They must have a large "walk in" clientele. read more

Whalegreens is where you go when you are looking for Moby Dick. However if you want to give up and just get some pain pills for your throbbing peg leg, then come here, Mr. Ahab. I've been to this Walgreens a few times, most recently with my friend Alex K when I was visiting him late at night. It really struck me what a convenient location it's in for those in late-night Allentown. It's right in the middle of Allentown, just a block north along Delaware, and it's 24 hours and clean inside. It has very high prices so I give it a 4, but for the service it provides to the downtown community, a place to "get stuff" in the middle of the night it's absolutely vital. I recognize that and so even though it's busy and awful during the day, I give this location a 4 for the service it provides to downtown at night. read more

The most incompetent pharmacy staff in all the land. The main walking dunce cap is the woman with the mullet, sliding quickly behind her is the woman with the European accent. They couldn't organize a sock drawer. Constantly get information wrong, give erroneous information and delay prescriptions. If I could give this place less stars I would. Every time I go here it's a horrible experience. None of the employees know what they are doing not even the managers. I finally realized that after going there 3 different times in the less than 24 hours. I ordered pictures, got an email saying they were ready for pickup. I paid for the pictures online, and go to the store they can't find them anywhere. They were in the pickup section yet no-one could find them. They redid the order and I came back next day. I assumed since I paid for the ones they couldn't find. I wouldn't have to pay for the new ones. No I still had to pay because it was a separate order and they couldn't find my original. The manager Rebecca called me a hour or so after I paid for something I paid for and realized the mistake and what happened. She try to explain to me on the phone what happened and how I was asking for the wrong thing and I should of said it was a same day pick up. This woman really expected me to understand how her stores works and how pick up works. She tried to send me a refund. I got a text saying I was getting one and I have not yet. I honestly think they steal people's money at this store. This is the third time this has happened. The employees here have not one clue what's going on. Do not shop here. read more

This Walgreens is convenient as it's really the last pharmacy you'll past when driving south towards downtown that has decent parking. The CVS downtown is a nightmare to try and get a spot near so this one is your best bet. It's your standard Walgreens, kept fairly clean for the most part, easy enough to find staff for assistance and has decent deals as long as your are a Walgreens cardholder. They have a RedBox outside which reminds me, I have had the DVD Burnt for two days past the due date, yikes. They have photo booths that operate fairly quickly. Most of the time they will only have one person working the registers which can be a little annoying but very rarely is there a long line. read more

One of the busiest pharmacies in the city (just mere blocks from the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus), but aside from the pharmacy section...moves the crowd quickly. In that defense, the pharmacy does take their time making sure the prescription is accurate and they do take their time to explain clearly if you have questions on your prescription. Call your prescription in early or use that neat app for smart phones to scan your refills. The management is plentiful at this place, always seems to be two managers around, checking to make sure everything's in order. They have an expansive sales flyer available at the door if you hadn't gotten one in the paper or mail, and it's highly recommended to check it out for the best deals. Other than that, it's a good store to pick up some convenience items at. read more

Remember that kid from second grade who showed up every day with some new bout of the plague? The kid who always kept the mini-pack of Kleenex in his back pocket, the one who visited the nurse's office every day after lunch to down some sort of medicine that never seemed to quite work? Oddly enough, this kid was never absent from school. He was always there, always sniffling, the cause, you now realize, that you compulsively wash your hands. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Allentown's Walgreens. See, this Walgreens has a problem that it never seems to be able to fix, no matter how much everyone involved acknowledges it. Universally understood to be one of the busiest pharmacy/convenience stores in Western New York thanks to the high-density area it serves, this Walgreens nevertheless persists in keeping only one register attendant working at any given time. The result of this practice is that no matter what hour one enters, be it 8:30 A.M., 12 noon, 6:00 in the evening, or midnight, a line is to be expected. Frustratingly, lines inevitably cause such consternation that the register attendant radios for help at the front, only for a second attendant to rush over from who knows where, help manage the line, and scurry away, only for the scene to be replayed identically five minutes thence. Long story short: Anticipate a wait. The selection the store offers is bafflingly good at times. The Delish and Nice store brand foods and household goods often beat name brand equivalents in both price and taste handily. Some of the offerings are in fact so good that they nearly reach Trader Joe's faux gourmet level. (I'm looking at you dark chocolate, caramel, sea salt crisps.) Meanwhile, very bad beer is forever on sale at very good prices. It doesn't appear that this Walgreen's has yet caught on to the fact that it should be stocking more microbrews than it does, but I hold out hope. First aid and OTC good are extensive. Nutrition items are subpar. Office gear is subpar, but variety of shaving equipment is excellent. Headphones come in great variety, while admittedly all a bit low-end. No Beats by Dre or Bose here. The store lacks grocery items (i.e. produce) but it does offer fresh milk, eggs, Bison cottage cheese (a big deal for yours truly), English muffins, and pita bread. In other words, this Walgreens is pretty well stocked. I have not used the pharmacy to fill a script, but I have regularly engaged the services of this Walgreens photo center for passport photos and digital prints. Depending on who is working in the back, the amount of time required to produce anything seems to vary absurdly. Generally, passport photos have been produced while I was waiting, but I was once told that four hours were required. What? Another time, a simple set of digital prints on matte required an overnight stay. Most of the time, they do seem to get the job done pretty quickly in that not-quite-high-quality endemic of Walgreens everywhere. Rejoice at the thought of grainy passport photos. Walgreens are everywhere. Theres nothing special nor spectacular about them. They have a nice friendly staff and good prescription center. it's too bad that they don't care about neighborhoods. For example they built a new store on W. Giard and Delaware in Tonawanda. Ten years later, they abandon the one story leaving a huge empty lot on Delaware to build two new locations, about one mile down the road in each direction. It's ridiculous! read more

Ugh. Only if desperate. Employees lack motivation to do work. Some customers have serious entitlement issues and lack good citizenship -- two people cut me off in the checkout line and acted ridiculous when I called them out on it. Also saw a woman working the street in the parking lot. read more

I rarely get prescriptions. Getting ready for some international travel and picked up 4 prescriptions/vaccines during my lunch hour. All 4 prescriptions were stapled together. The associate at the register advised which pills not to take simultaneously, but neglected to tell me that one of prescriptions needed to be refrigerated. This piece of information, I feel, is much more important than which medications can't be mixed. When I read the directions before taking, I finally saw the pills needed to be stored at 34-36 F (approx.). I messaged my doctor and he advised I needed a new prescription. The vaccine is not covered by insurance and costs $40. When I spoke with the pharmacy manager, she said the best she could do is offer some reward points (I do not have a Walgreens card that I know of). I read about the mark up / margin on medications. I don't think this is reflective of the associates, I think it is more reflective of Walgreens and their policies / training / operations / customer service. I find it hard to believe that Walgreens couldn't make the situation any better as I feel it is (and they agreed) negligence on their part. I am hoping this review helps others to avoid this when picking up medications. read more

The Delaware store is one of the worst in the chain, it is close to my home so I go there. On Monday August 11th at 1pm I wen into the store to purchase some sales items. Arron whom I think is a manager over charged me on sales items, and did not deduct the coupon. As a person of color I am used to the distracted, confused looks of the minority employees of this store. I did not expect a apology, he only laughed as to say so what. I think he is distracted, and his supervisor should retrain him, I also think he could use lessons in manners, customer service, and read the sales papers next to him.
