I have used Walgreens Burleson pharmacy for 20 years but this year my experience has been extremely negative. I have received automated messages saying they are out of common antibiotic medications, and it will take three to four days to get it in. Today I went to pick up a medication, after receiving a message it was ready, and was told they did not have any medications for me. When I pressed them about the issue, I was told the medication had been shipped to my other pharmacy. When I asked what other pharmacy, they asked if I used the mail order pharmacy. I said "NO". for the third time I was asked my name and date of birth. Magically, the prescription was found. It took approximately ten minutes after talking with a clerk to get my prescription that had already been packaged and was ready to go. read more

I'm only leaving 2 stars because it's for the store inside, not the pharmacy. The employees inside the store are friendly and helpful. However, if we're just talking about the pharmacy and this includes going inside, Drive- through, and calling them, they would get a -10 star if it was possible, and I will explain. Drive thru is backed up to the road sometimes, and yes, that's understandable, but you're sitting in line for about an hour. I tried to go inside for my medication and the same thing. Long lines and the wait is extremely long. What really makes me upset is when you call them because they never apply your insurance to your meds (and they get mad at the window if you don't call ahead). 1-You're sent to a call center that asks a bunch of questions, then procedes to say, "I can't help you, I'll transfer you to the pharmacy", now your on hold for about 20 minutes. 2-When someone gets on the phone, they try to help and are mostly confused because they are in the middle of something else, and you are put on hold for another person. Normally, the pharmacist and they seem like there annoyed that they have to help, but do. Today was my breaking point, and this is the reason for the overlong waiting review... Since I received my new insurance card in January, I brought it in, and they said it was now in the system. I ordered my medication, and it showed it wasn't applied again. I was on the phone with 2 different people, and they told me again they didn't have my card and had to bring it in. I just had major surgery, so I told them I couldn't, and the girl gave a major attitude and put it in on the phone. I was in the middle of asking her when they would be ready, and she hung up on me. I have been changing my meds to cvs even though their drive-through is slow. They get meds ready fast, have no insurance problems, and always answer their phones within less than 3-5 minutes. Personally, I think they need more workers, so it runs right and more smoothly but I will not be getting my meds here after these refills are done. Within the last two weeks, they cancelled two prescriptions without any notice of why. One of which was my ADHD medication and another was a medication for my nebulizer. I have pneumonia and could have desperately used this one medication to get better faster. No phone call on either. Tonight was the first time I could talk without coughing so I called to find out what happened. The female pharmacist named at night called at 11:30 pm on 8/20/23 extremely rude acted like my profession was a pharmacist. She told me my ADHD medication was backordered and they don't know when it will be available. 1st time I'm hearing this. She then rudely says I need to find the medication somewhere else and then call the dr to tell them where it is at. They can't transfer between locations (again something I didn't know). She argues with the type of medicine the 2nd prescription was but informs me it was a medication for my breathing machine. This was also out of stock and canceled without notice. Wow is all I can say! I went to the hospital earlier this week because the bronchitis turned into pneumonia and this prescription probably would have prevented my hospital visit. Back to tonight's phone call, I asked the pharmacist if she understood why I'm so upset, she didn't care. She made excuses for the behavior and talked to me like I was a dog! I hope this review gets to the right people at Walgreens to have swift action done. She hung up on my when I told her I hoped this phone call was recorded and for her to leave a message for the pharmacy manager to call me tomorrow. Incompetent. My son had oral surgery, and we had to practically fight them for his ibuprofen for pain. My husband went to get them, and they told him they weren't supposed to fill them until tomorrow. Then he went back an hour later and they left out the pain pills. Customer service in the pharmacy is unbelievably poor! Never seen anything like it! Always a line-up, both inside and out. The drive-up is a real joke. There are two lines, but only one person working the window. Not uncommon to see 6 to 8 or more cars lined up. You can end up waiting 30 - 45 minutes. Today, I called in my refill and the computer gave me a time in the morning to pickup. I showed up more than 4 hours AFTER that time, waited in line (inside) about 10 minutes, and was told that they hadn't had time to get it ready! I don't blame the workers. This is the worst pharmacy and I have finally decided to take my business elsewhere. I was there to pick up two prescriptions. I realized right after I drove off I only got one so I drove right back in line (of course), when it was finally my turn again, I explained I didn't get the other prescription. He said just a minute, came back to the speaker and said they didn't get it. I called the dr office and they gave me the time they left the message. I called back and a lady answered. Went to get a free vaccine. Walk ins welcome, according to signs. Told me they didn't have the one I needed. Told me to go to Cleburne, so I did. Then, Cleburne tells me they don't do vaccines between 1 and 2. Told me to wait or go to Burleson. I showed up a little before 1, mind you. So was a complete runaround! Either they don't really have vaccines or they just don't want to administer them. That's the impression I got from the runaround they gave me. Not a fan of Walgreens, as it is, since they kept giving me the wrong doses of my meds that I need to stay alive and function with. This should've been an easy thing to get done, but it was just a wild goose chase and a massive waste of time and gas. And gas isn't cheap these days! We usually use a smaller, local pharmacy but a late in the day trip to the ER for my daughter necessitated a visit to Walgreens. When I dropped the prescription off I was that there were two ahead of me and it would take about an hour. Seriously?! It's a common antibiotic. 40 minutes later I got a text saying it was ready. I drove across town to find that it wasn't, in fact, ready. It would be another 10 minutes. In fairness, they did originally say an hour but why send a ready text when it's not ready? I have the insurance card when I dropped it off and for good measure gave it again when I picked it up. Tech asked if I had insurance. I told her that I sent it up again and she said that this wasn't an insurance card and do I have anything else. I told her it was, indeed, an insurance card and that t works as I had just given it to them less than an hour before. After a pause, "Oh. Yeah. I see your co-pay." Customer service is terrible here. If it hadn't been for my daughter I would have just waited until a real pharmacy was open the next day. read more

They lost a prescription that we've been desperately needing for more than 2 weeks, so now waiting for Dr's office to send them a new prescription. On top of that, they are extremely slow. Awful, terrible, uncaring service. Would rather wait for HEB pharmacy hours than use the 24 hour service. They have cost us more time and money than we should have ever spent because they don't care enough to research an issue. Twice we were 1.) given medications we didn't request and 2.) told some half reason as to why they couldn't run our insurance, causing us to pay over $130 for medications that with insurance would have been less than $10. Then when I called WALGREENS within 2 days, then within 5 days, the same young lady in the pharmacy said they didn't re-run insurance then that my carrier declined the medication (one that I know for a fact is covered...amoxicillin, for my child) she also said that I had to deal with my insurance because they wouldn't do anything more. When I called my insurance carrier I was told that Walgreens never submitted the RX through them. Walgreen carelessly submitted the RX through an insurance policy that had been cancelled for over 4 years and refused to correct their mistake causing me hours of work tracking down and sending in a claim form. read more

They are considerate enough to give you all needed prescriptions at once even if you didnt ask for it, but the phone service is god awful. I cannot tell you how many times they have hung up on me right after I've said hello after being on hold for several minutes . it's literally like they pick up, say "how can I help you?", I say "Id like to refill a perscription" and then they hang up. I don't know if they don't know how to operate their phones or what. Then I have to call back so I can get my meds that I NEED and I'm on hold for several minutes again. The customer service was so bad, I struggled to give them 1 Star. Maybe that is because they worked in Christmas? I initially waited in line about 15 min without moving. There were at least 5 men waiting for a prescription fill. They were never called when ready. When I reached the free of the line they told me it was a 20 min wait. Learning from the previous situation, I got back in line. At 55 min, still NOT ready. I put the gal on the spot asking her to please call me when it's ready, that 20 min became 55 so far. They screwed up my prescription refill TWICE in a 24 hour period and the pharmacy workers have no customer service skills or knowledge of how insurance works. The one on Sycamore School Road in Fort Worth is at least as bad. The people working there don't care about the customers. I think they just want them to go away. And they will. If I could give this a 0/5 stars I would. It's been a long time since I have used this walgreens since I moved from home. And I was recently reminded how much I do not miss this pharmacy. First off, many years ago when I was a kid, they filled one of my 1 month prescriptions and wrote the instructions incorrectly. Rather than taking 1/day (as prescribed by physician) they wrote that I should take 3x/day. I never realized the mistake until a ran out of my medication after just 1 week. I was taking 3x the prescribed dose for a week! THREE TIMES! Luckily, I did not experience any drug toxicity. They blamed it on difficulty reading the doctor's handwriting. And recently, I've tried to refill a prescription there while I was back home visiting. They notified me that my insurance denied the medication (well, my insurance changed since the last time I used their pharmacy so that's expected). I called to try to take care of the issue. The PT tech I talked to was trying to convince me it is my current insurance policy and told me I need to call my insurance company. Before I could contest, he hung up the phone. Luckily, I do not live in the area anymore so I won't have to deal with them anymore. I've also convinced my family to drive out of their way to another pharmacy for now on. read more
