I have had so many positive experiences at Ulta but realized I haven't rated them yet. My most recent experience was when I was helping my sister. She wanted to get a specific perfume, and she had already checked the price online and was hoping that she would still get the same price in the store. I went to the store for her, and when I got to be perfume section, I was on the phone with her and said, "I need to get someone to help me."because the perfume is behind glass. A staff member heard me and walked over and asked if she could help. I showed her the perfume that I wanted and she took it out for me and also let me smell the sample so I would know that I liked it and she instructed me to go get in line and she would take the perfume up for me. When I got into the line, the staff member opened a new register, so I didn't have to wait long. They also had a special that if you spent over $150, you got a free warming rob. Win-win because this is a birthday present. I appreciate Ulta's staff every time I go to a location. They are always super friendly and helpful. I have gone to try makeup and have had a staff number help me to find the right shade, I had had to return a product because I had a reaction, and it was a seamless experience. I appreciate that they have samples of makeup and perfume, so it helps ensure that you like what you buy. I will definitely be back again and again. read more

He was very kind, informative and patient with me as I was looking for the receipts. He attempted to help me find a color match for a brand I love (but has recently changed their formula and colors). I was becoming hopeless when he made a recommendation for a completely different brand which I sampled. I purchased his recommendation and am pleased with the results. love shopping at Ulta but not this one. It's just conveniently located. I just barely wear makeup but I love body butters, body creams, scented shower gels and such things so I have shopped at this location quite a few times in the past 8 months. Only twice have I encountered a friendly, smiling cashier providing pleasant customer service. While shopping in the store I have had employees brush right past without as much as a smile, a welcome to Ulta, or any type of acknowledgement whatsoever. I have a feeling the manager of this location is not topnotch at providing a stellar experience for shoppers judging by the staff here. They are all probably just there to collect the paycheck. I love this Ulta. They every once in a while ask me if I need any help but not bothering my every 40 seconds. I always find what I'm looking for and if I don't they help me find what I'm looking for. They're patient even if I change my mind about the product or something. I wish they had more advice about curly hair but I'm just assuming there's not a lot of curly haired people around. I haven't tried the nail service or whatever else just because I don't trust just anyone touching my hair or eyebrows. The only thing I dislike is there isn't as much expertise on curly hair or ethnic hair. That's not really their fault though. This Ulta location just got a remodel and updates and it looks so much nicer and welcoming. The workers everytime I come in are super nice and helpful in everything that you need. (This location IS SO MUCH NICER than the arlington highlands location. Maybe because the arlington Highland location is always, always, always out of stock on numerous items which is very frustrating.) And I'll have to add this location is a lot LESs crowded than the arlington highlands area. This is most helpful when you just want to pop in and pop out quickly. Join their loyalty reward program! Do it! You will not be disappointed. All they need is ur name , number, address. Every dollar you spend at ulta is a point. And every 100 points is $3 back of ULTA money that you can use towards ANYTHING in the store. I accumulated/saved up $60 bucks and got entire lorac palette for free! Yes it's worth it. I LOVE that Ulta updated their loyalty program. There's also different tiers, like if you spent x amount of money during a calender year period you become platinum and u earn points even faster. U can also apply for a Ulta credit card and earn you points even faster that way. You can find more information on their website or app. It is the best make up loyalty rewards program ever. I shop at Ulta a lot more often over sephora ! The return policy is also great. If you're a rewards program you can return any item (even used make up to a certain point of course.. u can't return an empty bottle ) within a reasonable time and they can look up your receipt on the computer. That's super helpful because I always lose track of my receipts. Ulta does have a hair salon (some also have a dermatologist and nail tech on location) and I've been to three other Ulta hair salons to get my hair cut and colored and it's just not worth it. This is the only reason I'll give Ulta a 4 star instead of 5. I feel like the hair stylist need a lot more work, like they aren't very well skilled. It feels like many are just fresh out of hair school. So be very cautious when you are getting your hair done at ulta. Don't go get ur hair done with a new stylist right before an important occasion in cause of any hair issues that may happen. The prices are very high and the quality of service just doesn't feel like good quality. read more

This was the worst shopping experience of my life. I was already hesitant about going in the store based on the horrible reviews on yelp. I went against my better judgment and went in there anyway. When I went in the store I was ignored by no less than four employees. Never greeted,never asked if I needed any help. I was able to locate the eyeshadow pallet I was going to purchase and then was looking for an eyeliner. I could not locate it the brand I wanted and was walking around five minutes aimlessly looking for the item. Multiple employees glanced up at me walking around trying to find the item and completely ignored me. I was beginning to wonder if I was invisible. I see two employees chitchatting. One with a white coat on and another in all black. I let them know that I needed assistance. They looked at me and the taller one in black said "you help her " to the one in the white jacket. The one in with the white jacket looked back at me over her shoulder and said "I'll be with you ". She then had the audacity to turn back around and continue to chitchat with her coworker as if I wasn't standing there needing assistance! After standing for a good 30 seconds waiting for help, I said again, I need assistance. They look at me as if I'm annoying them and say we said aggressively and loudly "WE WILL BE WITH YOU IN A MINUTE", rolled their eyes and turned back around to continue their idle chitchat. I was beyond irate, they could've potentially had a large sale, but decided to be rude. I left the eyeshadow pallet in the store and called corporate. I was warned that they treat people of color poorly in this store and that was confirmed today. This store abysmal customer service and I will NEVER be back. read more

Came in here bc I was in the area to make a return. One of the managers Maggie denied my return bc I didn't bring the gift with purchase. I asked her if that is a new policy bc I've never had an issue with making any returns. So I left and called corporate and they confirmed what I've known all along: you don't need to bring in the FREE GWP to make a return. So when I called Maggie to complain, she tried to read to me what the website states like I don't know how to read! I know the website states "all its components" as in attachments to a hair dryer! So I asked to speak to the general manager Chanel (who I don't think exists) who has YET to call me back after several messages left for her. If not handling disgruntled customers is your way of managing then you guys have the perfect person in place! For future reference, I will be happy to go out of my way and make ALL my returns to this location! You've just created an enemy!! Ulta carries far more brands than the other beauty stores in town, ranging from quite affordable to high-end. I get my favorite Colourpop Super Shock Shadows here, too!! The sales are awesome, and being a platinum member definitely has its perks. However, I gave only three stars for 2 reasons: 1) Lack of inventory - this particular store is consistently out of stock on almost every product I am specifically there to purchase; and 2) Pricing - department store brands such as Revlon, NYC, and Maybelline, are at least 30% higher than Walmart, H-E-B, it even Kroger. read more

Salon is terrible. "Master" stylist couldn't take a level 7 blonde to platinum with straight bleach after TWO applications. Came out orange and multi colored even after toner. Lightened my roots after I requested them darkened smh. And it took 5 hours..... Absolutely hideous. Other shoppers said they agreed. And they wanted to charge $250 for it lol! Had to throw a fit to not be charged. She said it must be my hairs fault lol. The rest of my hair was platinum blonde and I've Never had a problem at any other salon like that in my life. They just are not familiar with their redken products or hair services or knowledgeable at all and sloppy and overpriced. read more

Be forewarned if going for a salon blow out and curl get a master stylist. I learned the hard way they both cost the same amount and the girl that I had do my hair for my birthday date clearly wasn't sure how to make curls last. My Curls lasted Less Than 3 hours and I paid over $50. My hair is really not that hard to curl. I have had the same service done in Fort Worth on a Friday and my hair looked stunning all weekend. So I figured I would do the same because I had a date on Friday and then my parents were coming in by 8 in the morning the next day and I figured I would look beautiful all weekend long while celebrating my birthday. I essentially paid $50 to have someone straighten my hair for the weekend and kind of wash my hair. Womp womp I called Monday and reported it and they said if I would have come back in within 24 hours they could have fixed it. I was also told I shouldn't have had it washed and curled. I reported "I've had this done before and it was no problem" and got "well ok but our policy is come in with in 24 hours" ok. My point was I had a 6pm appointment Friday night and it fell by 9pm when I was on a date and my family was in town by 8am for the rest of the weekend celebrating my birthday so there was no time. I understand and appreciate policies they have it just sucks that apparently not all their stylist quite know what they are doing. Oh and I asked when I scheduled what level she was and was told "oh she knows what she's doing she's been doing it awhile". In hindsight that should have been my clue. The only reason it doesn't get on one star is because the manager probably called me back on Monday or Tuesday and I did walk out of the salon looking good just wish it would have stayed like The Stylist and I talked about. read more

I had to run in after the gym because my wife wanted me to pick up some Clinique. She just sent me pictures of her used stuff so I'm going in clueless and hoping that the pictures would help. They didn't help that much but Angelica who was there working for another vender noticed I was kind of confused. She came over and showed me all the ones that I needed. I even FaceTimed my wife so Angelica could put samples on her hand to show my wife the different shades. She was just great. She had a warm wonderful smile and search for all the things I needed. I would not recommend the salon here. I booked an appointment and they scheduled me with the "master" stylist. I had to pay close to 30 % more (which i didn't know) based on the fact that she was a master stylist.... I didn't ask for that, why should i have to pay for it? She worked quickly, but cut my hair too short. She curled my hair without me asking, I am assuming to quickly divert my attention from how short she had cut it. I just don't think I will be back. The shopping aspect however is very nice. read more

The Ulta Salon in Burleson off of the freeway has poor customer service! The current manager has done me wrong countless times- between her rude comments and her poor customer service..I will Not go back there to get my hair styled, colored, or even trimmed there! I was getting ready for a special event and needed my hair styled real nice and also needed help with my false eye lashes. The manager styled my hair but it didn't look right and when she applied my false eye lashes, she got the clear glue inside the inner part of my eye! Stylist charged me 40.00 for a "Style" and a haircut, and then a extra 10.00 for a "Curl"( I never said I wanted my hair curled.) Friday, April 30th at 2:30 PM I visited store #179 to for a hair color appointment with a stylist who had been recommended to me. I told her I wanted a balayage as I had my engagement picture photo shoot scheduled that Sunday, May 2nd. The stylist intimated that would not be a problem. She began foiling my hair with the bleach product. At 5:40, as she had finished placing foils in, I asked her how much longer we were going to be. She said another 3 to 4 hours. I had to pick up my 4-year-old son at 6:30 PM which I told her. She told me to go pick him up and then come back for her to finish. I told her that would have him miss dinner and bedtime and asked her for other options. She stated she could "tone my hair" so that it didn't look "crazy" and that she could fix it for me on Sunday morning prior to my engagement pictures photo shoot. I agreed that this would be the best option and paid her $200 for her services plus a $40 tip for her services that date. When I left the salon, I was under the impression she would fix this Sunday morning, May 2nd, as she told me. On Saturday, May 1st, another associate called me to verify my appointment for Sunday morning. I confirmed and asked what the price would be. I explained I had already paid for the balayage but that my hair had not been yet cut. She placed me on a brief hold and then quoted me $210. At this point I contacted the stylist via her hair Instagram page. I explained to her that I had already paid for the service and that I felt it was unfair for her to charge me a second time when the first was not completed. I even offered to pay for product but explained that I didn't feel that I should have to pay for the entire service again. She explained to me that I could not expect her to "work for free". She then offered me a 20% discount. At this point, I canceled this appointment with her because I did not feel it was right for her to charge me full price again. I would have NEVER left my original appointment on April 30th OR I would have come back with my son, if she had told me that I'd have to pay for the ENTIRE SERVICE again on Sunday. Since this incident I have contacted the Salon and Store Manager and received no response. I have also emailed Guest Services and have included that correspondence here for your review. I contacted Guest Services via email on May 2nd and they told me that Store Operations team would be reaching out to me. I never heard from them. I contacted Guest Services again via email on May 4th and they explained that this was being investigated and thanked me for my patience. After not hearing anything on May 9th, I contacted Guest Services again via email and they explained due to high call volumes that it might take some time. I just spoke with another Guest Services Representative yesterday, who's name I could not understand. She explained that all she could do was email the managers once again and put a note in there to please contact me as soon as possible. I explained to her that this has been done numerous times and with no response. The Manager finally called me back yesterday AFTER I had told Guest Services that I was going to Corporate and to the BBB over this. She started our conversation by saying "I had to get the stylists side of the story first". She never once apologized for the situation or for it taking so long to get back to me. Never said sorry for my bad experience. She was extremely rude and condescending. She then placed all of the blame back on me and then refused to refund me. I spent that entire weekend crying. My engagement photos were something that I had looked forward to since I was a child. Thankfully I was able to get my hair fixed by another professional. I will never return to this store. It stinks because I see Jessica at the brow bar and love her. But I just cannot support this business after these issues. An apology and good customer service go a long way. read more

I went to the Burleson ulta to get my hair cut since I've been out of town and did not have time to go to my normal lady. I paid $38 for her to take not even an inch off my hair.. I asked for layers, I got a layer not layers and my hair is not even! I asked for my money back and was even willing to get store credit since I shop there all the time and normally love it. I was told they cannot do it but I can come back and they can redo it... why would I trust them to get it right this time? I was in the chair less than 10 minutes and now on top of the $38 I have already spent I now need to go get my hair fixed. DO NOT GO TO ULTA TO GET YOUR HAIR DONE!!!
