This is a lovely Walgreens! I had to pick up a thermometer and a Covid test on the way to work and thankfully drove by this Walgreens! Fully stocked with lots of choices of digital thermometers, got a high-end Braun, love it. The staffer walked me right to the aisle I needed, and talked thermometer choices with me! Very kind. ZERO STARS. They do not fill prescriptions. I have to wait WEEKS to get them if I get them at al. They dont deliver prescriptions. If you dont want to wait another 2 weeks, you have to go in there in person & wait in line to get them. They dont answer the phone. I give up after 40 minutes on hold. I have had prescriptions that they cant even get, EVER! Text messages just say "In Progress." A lady there told me the pharmacist quit & the pharmacy is closed! My doctor submitted a prescription to the Springfield Drive location in Champaign at 10:25 AM at 7:45 PM of the same day the prescription was still not ready. This was for one single tablet for an appointment the next morning at 8 AM. 9 and 1/2 hours for a single pill is unacceptable. Something the head pharmacist here could do is make sure that his staff GREETS DRIVE THROUGH PEOPLE! We just sit there for 10 or 20 minutes left to wonder if staff even SEE us or if anyone cares or if WE did something wrong. Do we hit the "Call" button on the tube delivery system, uhhh... we just sit there and hope someone notices us. THAT is withing the staff and head pharmacist's control. All they have to do is say, "Hello. We are at a staff shortage today so please give us around 10 minutes to get to you." Boom. Done. But nope, they prefer you sit in wonder. Aside from this, I was told that they have my telemedicine electronic order, then they tell me it disappeared from their system and to come back later. Went back again, but nothing. Next day, nothing. So, I had the Dr. order it through CVS. I call CVS, their AUTOMATED system knew my name, and told me the exact time they'd have the script ready. Walgreens? You call and no one answers because they're dealing with endless calls. You enter your # into Walgreens auto systems and it says it can't find you. How is Walgreens so dumb that it can't simply automate just like CVS? It is Champaign and so I wonder if Walgreens here has to fill some kind of quota, like hire high schoolers who check certain categories for the company. None of that at CVS, so go there. Closest pharmacy after the one across the street closed permanently due to lack of a pharmacist. Only other options are within hospitals, the last place I should be if I only need to get meds with a contactless option, which there isn't a drive thru at the closest hospital (within 10 min drive). Even 4 hours prep isn't enough time, but after I pickup my 2 ready prescriptions, I leave and within 3 minutes the app says that my last (MOST IMPORTANT) one is magically done, when the woman said it would be done in 30 minutes. No thanks! I'll deal with walking and winding through the hospital, but at least I won't have to return TWICE in 5 minutes and wait in a drive thru line, when I arrived the 1st time and no one was in line yet. Store review: When will I learn to completely trust Yelp? Soon enough. I went to this location based on proximity and as I walked in, I saw the reviews and was wondering it can't be that bad. All the prior reviews spot on! First of all limited inventory, I luckily grabbed the last 3 packs of TP. When I went to check out, the cashier had to slowly pull out her glasses check each individual item and read the fine print of the 4 coupons I had for my 4 items. Um... how about you focus on checking out faster so the line doesn't have to be as long. This was rather annoying and made you feel like you were doing something wrong. I went to Walgreens on Springfield and Mattis in Champaign, Il. today. I have a serious infection in my foot and had to have tests at the ER on Saturday to make sure I didn't have sepsis. The ER called two antibiotics in to Walgreen's on Saturday. They just got them both ready today, Monday, 2 days later. These are very common prescriptions. Meanwhile my infection is getting worse. When I picked them up they took other customers in the drive thru before me that came after I did. This heavy-set lady at the window ignored me and when she finally sent my prescriptions out ther was only one. I was almost home and had to go back. I went in the store and spoke to the manager and we both walked back to the pharmacy. Another pharmacy tech told me the 2nd prescription got stuck in the tube. (It was not in the tube). I asked to speak to the pharmacist, and he told me it never happened. He heard everything like me ringing the call button constantly. He didn't apologize or even act like he cared. This is the worst rated Walgrens in this area and I think it's because they treat you bad and the manager or pharmacist allows it to go on. read more

Avoid this Walgreen's at all cost. They are slow beyond belief! It sometimes takes 1-3 days to get a prescription filled... the fastest I've ever gotten one filled here was still 4 hours for pain meds after getting wisdom teeth pulled. My wife has had one standard medication (blood pressure med) take them a full week, and that's after doctors called them telling them it was an emergency and they needed to fill it immediately. The staff in the pharmacy is rude and sometimes just plain insulting. They frequently get the prescription wrong (dosage, refills, etc...) Check your prescription before leaving! When they finally do get the right quantity, dosage, refills, and name / address (yes, they mess that up too), they frequently screw up the insurance. I wish I read the reviews before I went here. They are the worst pharmacy ever! They said they were going to order a prescription for me. I waited a week before calling to see where it was. It wasn't until then that they told me they weren't able to get it? Were they never going to call me and let me know? They then said I could come back and pick up the original prescription. I went to get it and then they said they needed 30 minutes to get the pharmacist to approve it. I left and came back 30 minutes later where they then told me that they couldn't find it and would continue to look for it. At that point I'm honestly over it and I told them to forget it because I was sick of listening to their bs excuses. I would rather just go through the hassle of getting a new script than listening to their crap. Needless to say. I will not be returning and if it were up to me I would have that pharmacy closed and send them all back to school. read more

I've been in and out of this pharmacy over the past 15 years and sadly, it's always been awful. This is the only Walgreens pharmacy open 24-hours but that doesn't mean that you can get your prescription filled. Apparently the insurance database doesn't kick over until 3am so be aware if you are trying to fill overnight. When I dropped off a prescription a few weeks ago, the woman behind the counter was beyond rude. I was the only customer standing near the pharmacy. She ignored me at the drop off counter for more than 10 minutes (and yes, we did make eye contact and she didn't bother with verbal interaction) and then when she did decide to help me, it was made clear that I was bothering her. One of her employees came to ask her a question while we were talking and she rebuffed the women so harshly, I almost apologized for the behavior. Also, I was asking what I thought to be pretty straightforward questions but you know when you are given answers that are intentionally vague and the tone delivery is intended to try and make you feel stupid? Yeah, that. It isn't too much to ask for a pharmacist to provide clear and helpful answers to questions about medication and interactions. When I picked up my prescription the next day - the pharmacist behind the counter was completely useless. I had to spend 5 minutes listening to him explain why a data breach at Schnucks shouldn't deter me from saving my credit card information in their database. All I wanted was to pick up my prescription that I had to wait over 12 hours to be filled. If it's all the same, drive to the Walgreens on Neil, they are much more helpful and consistent. read more

This Walgreens is extremely slow at filling prescriptions. The one down the street at the Crossing is much better. The staff is never very friendly and they frequently have issues with Christie Clinic and electronic prescriptions. i used to go to this walgreens. i.... USED.... to go to... THIS... here very walgreens... but then.... they turned out... to be rude every time i picked up my prescriptions. they often had ridiculous wait times to pick up prescriptions. sometimes, if i was really lucky, my prescriptions that i had already called ahead to have refilled hours in advance, were not ready when i arrived to pick them up. i had already had the glorious experience of waiting in queue for at least 15 minutes to find out that i would have to wait at least another 30 for an angry pharmacist to chase down 30 pills and put them in a bottle with a sticker and hand them my way. no worries. he'd do it as angrily as possible. he'd offer me no advice about dosing it with other medications and he'd probably act like somehow this was my fault. that is just the kind of awesome job you can expect from this particular, walgreens. that's why i took my prescriptions to another pharmacy all the way across town. i have to drive 10 minutes out of my way, but i still end up saving about an hour, and i never feel like i am putting the staff out. it's really a trade off in customer service and time. read more

If I could choose less than one star I would. The pharmacy and its personnel at this location (Springfield & Mattis, Champaign) are so bad that they are dangerous. 2 - 3 times in the past 6 months they have delayed refilling my prescriptions (for no reason other than they were too busy? Or didn't care?) for so long that I experienced withdrawal symptoms. When I told my doctor this, he was horrified and said I could have ended up in the ER. Even telling them that, they seem like they couldn't care less. Now I'm in the process of transferring my prescriptions to a CVS and they are uncooperative, so again, even starting this process over a week ago, I am now without meds. I've talked to their corporate office, to the store manager, to the pharmacist, and as others have said, they were all rude and acted like I was the crazy one. If I could afford it, I'd sue Walgreens over this. Maybe a class action suit? Anyone? In the meantime: BOYCOTT THIS PHARMACY. IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE. read more

This store is always clean and the aisles are wide, making it so easy to shop. When it comes time to check out, however, there never seems to be enough cashiers. They could improve this by hiring more people. The cashiers are slow and sometimes we're waiting up to 5 minutes in the line. Many don't even talk to us until they hand us the receipt. read more

I have been going to this store for a number of years due to it's convenient location. However, the service has always been poor and has gotten worse. No one in the pharmacy department has any idea when prescriptions are ready; where they are located; or can provide any other information. I called in a prescription and was told it would be ready on the following day. Then I received a call indicating they were checking on insurance. When I called back I was told that the prescription was at the Bloomington Road store, even though I had called the prescription into this store, and no one could explain why that had happened. On most occasions when I have been there, the lines are ridiculous and people are often told that the prescriptions are not ready, or they don't have the medication. I think the staff is extremely overworked. I have talked to their corporate office about it who assured me they were concerned about it, but obviously they are not. I would strongly recommend that you go to other Walgreens locations. read more

I don't have prescriptions often so I hadn't been to this pharmacy in years. I do know that I was very annoyed last time and well, they continue to disappoint. My child needed a vaccine for school and under time constraints, I thought I'd get it here. I scheduled the appointment online for a few hours later in the day. When we arrived, they were busy, understood. After a few minutes in line, I was greeted and asked to wait. Ok, no problem. I waited and waited, which is ok as long as I get what I need fairly soon, no big deal. After about 15 mins, I was addressed again, and told they do not have the vaccine that I scheduled online. I didn't get an email or call beforehand which would have saved me the trouble. So, if you're there for a vaccine, call ahead and don't rely on the online scheduling. The employee told me he would call another store to see if they had it. I waited and waited some more. I could hear much conversation among employees and I heard them say they called Village Green store about it but couldn't hear the answer. I assumed the employee would walk back to the desk and tell me the answer so I could get on my way. No. I waited some more and received no answer. By then, I had been waiting in the pharmacy for 45 mins. 45 mins for nothing. I walked out, went home, and called CVS. They were awesome, directed me immediately to their pharmacist who told me that had one dose. She held that for me so we could go in and get it the next day. We did. We got the vaccine in less than 30 mins there. I don't think I'll go to Walgreens pharmacy on Springfield Ave again. They seem completely disorganized and the customer service barely exists. Walgreen's in Champaign, particularly Springfield and Mattis, has shown signs of struggling with handling the demand for years but I've finally hit the last straw and I'm switching to another pharmacy. My doctor's office, which I regard has having the highest standard of professionalism, has contacted Walgreen's twice to set me up with a medication that I need and both times when I arrive to pick it up, they show no record of it in my profile. In the past I've had problems with Walgreen's not having a prescription ready when they said it would be, actually it wasn't even being prepared, I've had issues with mail order prescriptions not showing up in time to make a smooth transition between months, there are some medications that they don't regularly carry and need to be shipped in, but their computer system is so antiquated that they have to call around to locations around town to see if anyone else has it on hand. As I understand it the pharmacological industry is pretty profitable, unfortunately they seem to be eating their seed corn. The apparent turnover of staff at this location is also a key indicator of the stress being put on employees to handle a load that's too large for them. read more

I write in praise of the pharmacist at Walgreens on Springfield. They are so busy. I have never been there when there wasn't a line, but when it is your turn, you get great service. I needed 12 Kits of a specific prescription. There was a mix-up. I was only given one kit. They contacted the doctor for clarification. The doctor wrote a new prescription for the remaining 11 kits. When I went to pick them up, Walgreens on Springfield had only 4 kits. Madelle was the pharmacist on duty. She called other Walgreens stores. She found the items I needed. She offered to go to the other stores when she was off work, pick up the items and have them at Walgreens on Springfield by Saturday. I have been getting all my Rx in this Pharmacy since I've moved in champaign since it is the most convenient for me on my way home and they serve 24h, but lately I felt insulted by the rude staff. I have experience multiple times of having to wait for my meds not being prepared yet or even when it is called for refill after 3 days they haven't had prepared yet for their reason that they still need to verify to my MD - I'll let this pass this event. But today, I was insulted by staff and felt degraded when I went to pick up my Misoprostol(cytotec) which we all know that it is a prescription meds that can cause abortion to preg women. First of all, they already texted me a day ago after my MD's appointment that my Rx is ready for pick up anytime. I did pick up the next day of course thinking to give a day or two for this pregnancy to end up on its own with my MD's instruction to take it after 3 days if bleeding would not persist since the baby is dead. The person who assisted me asked if I'm pregnant then I said yes. Then he went to his pharmacist, and then came back to ask me if I know what this med is for so I told them, I am/was pregnant but baby is dead that's why my MD had Rx me this to aid in getting this baby out. They still look suspicious on me as if I'm an abortionist. I offerred them my ID to match the name that was Rx by my MD but they refused so I told them to call my MD's clinic. They told me to step inside the pharmacy coz I might wait for another 10 mins for verification, of course I refused, having been felt so small by this people plus I was still grieving of the loss of my wanted child, how could this people think that I'm using this drug in the wrong way. If only they knew how I felt of losing ur love ones. In the first place, why do they texted me that's it's ready for pick up, that means all they have to do is to verify if I'm the right person for the Rx. I know it's their job to check the drugs to whom they are to give but identifying the person is enough to prove that it was Rx for me. That was the rudest thing they did to me. I go to this store at least once a week and have been for 15 years. They are very, very good. They are a friendly group. 3 of the pharmacists are very loyal. They track things down and make calls for us. All three have become good friends. The store is the busiest in town because its the only 24 hr pharmacy. Its ridiculous to say they don't know when a prescription is ready. They have too many orders to just recall yours. They have to look it up. I love that Walgreen's is open 24/7 at this location. The photo service is very good, unlike the photo service at the Neil Street & Kirby/Florida Ave. Walgreen's. Some of the employees that work here are a bit odd, but I don't "hang" out at Walgreen's...just get in and get out...except...if I can't sleep, sometimes I go to Walgreen's and browse the aisles. The magazine selection is limited, but better than magazine selection at CVS @ Green and Neil Streets in Champaign. I don't use the pharmacy, I prefer the pharmacists and techs at the CVS on Green Street...and the pharmacy at CVS is open 24/7/365. Walgreen's is light, bright, has wide aisles, good sales.
