Coming back South on I-79 to Charleston and then onto I-77 for the final leg, it was time to stop for lunch. Not wanting to endure the agony of inflated prices on a controlled entry and exit road, I was determined to avoid this if possible. Pulled off I-77 South just before the Turnpike and had lunch at Tudor's Biscuit World which was pretty good and very filing. As I was leaving, there was a Kroger's across the parking lot. I wanted some bottled water so I drove over to pick up some. Different layout than I am used to put on asking, staff directed me to exactly where I need to go. While more that I actually needed, picked up a 24 pack at very nice price. Store is well stocked and prices are good. Very clean store and easy on and easy off I-77.

From the Quality Inn hotel, I walked to this Walgreens, which was a godsend. Thankful for Walgreens for being the neighborhood super store without being a CVS or a Walmart. The ease of not walking extra in a Walmart was nice here in this Walgreens in downtown Charleston, West Virginia. I arrived here around 2pm after my friend dropped me off at the hotel. Being Sunday, I wasn't sure what's open. Thankfully, Walgreens was open and I just walked in and proceeded to shop around. I ended up with a few items that basically helped me with my meals for the day without being too pricey. The overall experience took me around 20 minutes from start to finish. The Walgreens is set up perfectly so I don't have to walk around too much for what I needed to get. Walgreens is priced competitively, but nice to have when you need a single or two items without needing to buy in bulk. Perfect for those who need that daily functionality. Walgreens tries to carry what most people need on a daily basis. Although I was from out of town, the store clerk asked me if I was a member of Walgreens. I rarely go into Walgreens at home, so I said no. I then paid for my purchase and headed back to the hotel. Thanks Walgreens for being there when I needed you to be open. The service here was good and typical at the same time. Thanks for being open on a Sunday. The overall experience here at this Walgreens location in downtown Charleston, West Virginia was pretty good and convenient. While it was about a 0.5 mile walk from the hotel, or felt like 0.5 miles, it was necessary to procure the items I needed. The store itself is organized meticulously and the store itself was sparkling new like it was kept up daily. The ambiance when I was there was quiet being that it was a Sunday. It was a chill vibe while in the store. I enjoyed the fact that this Walgreens was in walking distance and the experience was as typical as you can get on any given day. The items I purchased were several cans of processed soups that's ready to eat, bread, and Nutella. Along with some bottled sodas and ice cream, it was a definitely a nice lunch and dinner, along with dessert for my last night in Charleston, West Virginia before flying home. For the most part though, shopping at Walgreens while on vacation was interesting, but not uncommon. I'm sure many do, but not on a Sunday. If you ever need your daily essentials and happen to be in downtown Charleston, West Virginia, consider coming to this Walgreens to get it. As far as parking goes, they have a generous parking lot that features premium parking for maybe 30 available cars. If you are like me and prefer public transportation, consider the local area bus routes that you need to take you here and go from there. Or walking is a good choice too, depending on where you start from. And of course, there's always Uber or Lyft that can take you here quickly, but there's always a price for their services. They call it a Hillbilly Dog. I was very pleased that the bun was steamed. Not to crazy about the taste of the chili and slaw was a little bland for me. This is a review of an amazing pharmacist, sadly I do not know her name. Recently, I filled a…read morenumber of prescriptions for a family member. The pharmacist was concerned about one of the medications and called the physician before dispensing the prescription. The next day, she remembered my name. Now for the less than favorable portion. One of my daughter's medications had to be ordered. On the appointed day, I was told they had a question about the dosage and the physician did not return their call. When I asked them to follow up on the RX, the clerk was rather rude. After my call to the physician, the supposed issue was cleared up. When I called to confirm this, CVS told me it would be two days before the prescription would be ready. I called Kroger and picked up the medicine on the same day.
