After 14 years of being employed by this company in store management I now get to experience Walgreens as a customer. Their understaffed, over stressed and underpaid associates are lacking motivation and people skills in this location. It's not that Walgreens needs to hire more people. They are not given the budget to have more. They are routinely expected to do more with less. But that's "the industry standard". I walked into this convenient location and made eye contact with the male service associate. There were no customers in sight and he was just standing at the register playing his fingers like drumsticks on the counter. I gave a smile. He gave zero reaction. Where was my "welcome to Walgreens"? I proceeded to the front wall because I was in need of a technology device for my iPhone. Looks like they are ready to get a reset on all their cell phone gear because the entire front wall was pretty much barren and full of clearance tags. So I just bought a water and left. While I was there I wasn't greeted by any other employees. No management on the floor during my visit at 7pm. Only the little drummer boy and a photo tech who was trying to be patient taking an entire group of young children's passport photos. The store was in ok condition. Besides the front wall. Side racks snd end stands merchandised, back to school products out and ready to sell. Upon checkout my drummer friend gave a week "hey". And once I paid asked if I wanted a receipt. That was pretty much the extent of our exchange. Even while I was at the front wall looking intently over the little choices in product he proceeded to play his drum solo. No offering assistance to this gal. I wasn't impressed and it makes me sad. I spent over a third of my life with this company and I expect better. read more

absolutely do not go here for a vaccine. i went in for my appointment that i made online and everything just went to shit real quick. first of all, they said they couldn't use my dad's insurance number because i'm supposed to have my own. ummm girl i've been going to doctors appointments n shit for 20 years and i've never ONCE had my own number, because it's under my dad's name!! also the vaccine is free so why do u even need my insurance? plus when i told them i had an allergic reaction to the polio vaccine, they didn't care, even though the polio vaccine and the covid vaccine share some of the same ingredients, and i feel like that's something pharmacists should know.. anyway they tell me to sit down and they'll get my paperwork ready to fill out, so after 30 minutes of sitting and waiting they finally give me my paperwork and my mf last name was COMPLETELY wrong. i had spelled out my last name for them at least 3 times, and they just put a totally different last name. and my last name is NOT hard AT ALL. so i ask if they want to correct it or if i should just cross it out and write it myself and she said "yeah" and i was like... ok so which one? so i crossed it out, gave the paperwork back, and sat for another 30 minutes. i had been there for an hour and a half before i finally got called back. literally everyone who was behind me in line had already gotten vaxxed and left. so i go back and the guy (brodie, i think) was apologizing like a mad man even though out of everyone here he was the absolute least at fault. anyway, he was the only one who was even the least bit concerned about my allergy, so i was grateful that he asked questions about it and warned me of the risks.. anyway, he stabs me as one does and tells me to wait for about 15 minutes just to make sure everything's okay, which is normal so that's fine. but after the 15 minutes i go back up to the consult counter to get my card and she hands me a card with the wrong last name AGAIN. and i know that one wasn't her fault because she just wrote what she saw, but that means that they didn't even correct it in the system or whatever. so i get it corrected and she gives me a new card and i finally leave, after being there for 2 hours total. which was mostly just making corrections and waiting an unnecessary amount of time. so anyway. don't get ur vax here if u don't want to waste ur time. go to CVS or hyvee or walmart- literally ANYWHERE else. (1 star for the one cool pharmacist that gave me the shot) ETA: i'm not the type of person to make a negative review, even if ihave a bad time, but this experience was an exception. read more

I just went through drive through to get a COVID test. I had to wait at the window for 8 minutes before being acknowledged. I then had to open ALL of the items. I then was told it would be 2-5 days to get my results. I was NOT provided the option of the Rapid test; which is advertised online. This was my second test done at this same location and the difference was night and day. read more

It does what it's supposed to do. Staff seems ambivalently friendly enough. They usually have what I'm looking for, and if I can't find it they'll help. If the merchandise isn't in they let me know when it might be again. Overall, pretty decent experience. read more

The retail store is decent enough. Clean, easy to find stuff, fast check out. But the pharmacy *shakes head* just don't bother. They frequently do not have meds ready when they say they will even when scripts are on hand and the med is in stock. They get irritated if you ask questions without easy answers. They do not help the customer manage large amounts of medications because they cannot be bothered. Their lines are inexplicably long and you have to get into them twice, once to drop off your script, once to pick it up. Just don't bother here, head over to the Coralville HyVee and be treated like a human, get your meds in 10 minutes, and get your questions answered by people who learn you name. read more

This Walgreens is close to where I live, so it would be terrific if I could shop andget prescriptions filled there. They occasionally advertise "register rewards " for things that they immediately run out of. A cashier asked me if I'd found everything I needed and I said that actually I'd wanted a supplement I'd seen in their ad that they were out of. She told me that they get more on Thursday. When I returned on Friday, they were out, so I asked a clerk if they write rainchecks. She said yes, to ask at the cashier and they will call a manager. When I did this, the manager started writing the raincheck but explained that while she was writing the raincheck to get me the reduced price on the product but that she couldn't do the register rewards. I thanked her and left with the pointless raincheck, thinking it would've been easier if she'd just said no, we can't. I like to take advantage of specials where I can get a free tube of toothpaste occasionally because we are broke but I don't like to annoy the employees and I don't try to buy more than one. Another time I waited 5 minutes for the same manager to fix a failure to print rewards problem, and another time waited for 10 minutes while she and a clerk searched for a not obscure supplement. It turned out that they had "2 coming in Thursday ". It was Sunday. The pharmacy staff look like they hate their jobs AND their customers. After years of getting allergy meds there, one pharmacist made my husband reregister. And they lost his insurance another time. Is this place getting some kind of tax break for employing people with low intelligence,personality disorders, and other barriers to regular employment? I swear I get faster and better service at the goodwill, and those people clearly like their jobs. read more

I may have looked a little lost in the store, but right away an employee asked if they could help me find something. Then, at checkout, had an awesome convo with the clerk about my bug-soother (16 ounce refill size) purchase and laughed. I was still laughing on my way to my vehicle. If I do that, I know it was an excellent shopping trip. Great employees there. read more
