Ok, recently, as grocery prices have skyrocketed-- I've been shopping more at this Walmart. (I can't fathom spending over $5 on a gallon of milk! Thankfully, Walmart doesn't make me do that!) I am here to say, for grocery delivery, it is both dependable, affordable and well stocked. Online shopping is a breeze, substitutions are reasonable, the selection is great and delivery has been relatively seamless with quality folks. I continue to think these things are superior at this location: 1. Online shopping! 2. Garden Center is fully loaded and the price is right. 3. Cheap holiday decor. Marked down 50% the day after and 90% three days after. 4. Generic over-the counter options. 5. This WalMart has the best parking lot of the two in town, hands down. read more

Lately I have been picking up my groceries in the evening and now that it's dark out earlier it feels quite unsafe. There have been 10+ men hanging out by the pickup area, not using the pickup service as customers, and it is quite uncomfortable to get out of my car and be surrounded by a bunch of men when it's dark. I'm a very petite woman and shouldn't have to carry a weapon in your parking lot to feel safe. Get rid of the loiterers!! They are there every week when I go to pick up. read more

Overall, I have been to Walmart for all sorts of things. I think I go to Walmart about a few times a month at least. Whether it be for food, for clothing, for gardening, or even for your automotive needs, Walmart has almost everything. Also Walmart is a hard place to beat with their low prices. Really the one complaint I have is that they have so many registers but hardly ever have any employees to run them. When I go there, usually there are three registers open and the rest of them are closed, with a pile of people in lines at the registers or trying to do self checkout. Apart from never really being able to get through and out of Walmart quickly, they are a very affordable place to go. If you have the time and the need, Walmart is the place to go. read more

As a customer here it is an okay experience. The people are nice but do not really do their job. I worked at another Walmart so I understand the basics. I actually tried transferring to this Walmart, got told my first day can be august 26th and all I needed to do was come in ANY time before then for orientation. I asked "what day?" The lady on the phone said "any day." I asked "okay is there a specific time frame that is best to come in during?" She said "nope. Just whenever you can." So I did. Then I got told by "oh we don't have any new hires." The coach I spoke to called the lady I spoke to on the phone (she was sick so I felt bad that she was being disturbed at the time). I was told I could come back on Friday but asked if I could on Thursday. I said I could not come in on Thursday because I have a class that runs later than the hiring lady would be there (why would she say any time if I couldn't be hired when she was off of work???). So the plan was I would come on Friday before 4. And I did. We were all faced with more confusion. An employee was very kind to me in helping me find help from a higher up. This coach called the lady that told me I could come in. What did she tell him??? "She was supposed to come in yesterday." No. I wasn't. I made it clear that I could not do Thursday and I was told Friday was okay. Why could I not do it on Friday? Well because this lady went to Coralville that day. Another wasted trip. The coach texted her my win number and she said she would get it figured out. That was in August. It's October now. I have heard nothing. Walmart is nothing but a piece of garbage with terrible management all around. Apparently this mix up may have happened because the lady got me mixed up with another girl with the same name. But so what? I can understand a mistake, so just own up to it and apologize. Just be like "I am so sorry for this misunderstanding. That is my mistake. I am sorry but I don't plan on hiring you." I mean... anything would be better than that constantly game of back and forth. I have more important things to do. I could have been quite a great asset but you lost me Walmart. read more

If you are looking for customer service, go some where else!! This is the worst store I have ever been too. I felt like I was just in the workers way when she was sweeping the floor. This Wal-Mart is a little smaller than a Super Wal-Mart but is still full featured. The store is oriented with the grocery area on the left side of the store. Grocery has full service deli, bakery and hot food. Seems like Meat and dairy are a little smaller than usual. Could aways have a few more checkouts open but isn't that always the case? I was just at this Walmart and I was trying to locate things for scrapbooking. First off the store was incredibly disorganized and very dirty. I couldn't find what I was looking for. I then asked for help from a supervisor because, there was nobody else on the floor to help me. This man could not be more useless. He told me "scrapbooking was no longer a thing" therefore they didn't Carry supplies anymore. This is why most of us shop at target. This guy is useless!!! This definitely wasn't my first encounter with him but, I assure you it will be my last. read more

Best Walmart in town. Very friendly staff and the lines are never long even when it is really busy. There always seems to be a manager on duty delegating the lines to make sure all of the customers are taking care of properly. I do like the layout as well. Newly constructed and clean. read more

A horrible store. Produce area is arranged so you can't get through it without standing around waiting for someone to move. I have to climb up on the refrigerated yogurt case in order to reach my yogurt on the top shelf in the back. There is never an employee anywhere in sight to help. A nasty little old greeter woman harasses me every time I walk through the doors with a bag in my hand. There is always a line at the registers. Seems to be their policy never to have over 50% of them open. The customer service desk is the worst I've ever seen. Often have long lines there too with people returning the poor quality junk products they purchased. Many of the clerks at the desk have poor quality English and are difficult to understand. Walmart, you've had your 15" of fame with the greeters. Now they are just an annoying nuisance. Give it up. Go to Target people! read more

It's like they reuse to hire intelligent people or train anyone that they do hire. Not a single person that works here knows anything about the Savings Catcher that Walmart has had for years now. They don't know how to use the gift card that was emailed to me. I have over $23 on my Savings Catcher, yet none of the employees know how to redeem it. I've gone multiple times now, so it's not just one group of employees. I will take my business somewhere with competent human beings that have been trained to perform their job sufficiently. read more

This was my first visit to Walmart, Iowa City, Iowa. What a disappointment! The store greeter smiled and said hi. She was the only one who was half way friendly. I was looking for a cord for my computer. In the electronic section of store.. there was a gentleman in a scooter.. who I ask for help. He tried to help.. but he didn't seem to know much about computer cords. Decided to get a digital alarm clock with 2x2 AMP USB charge ports... which I could charge my cell phone and computer. Got the alarm clock.. went back to electrons to see if they could get me a simple cord. No one there seemed to know anything about this. Employees aren't to friendly or don't know what they are doing. I got irritated and put everything I had in shopping cart and left. Won't be back there again!! read more

This review is specifically for their wireless portion. I went in on a Monday to port a number to a new phone, and the guy there was super friendly, very nice fellow but I didn't have all the information I needed at the time so I said I'd just come back in another day. Went back in today, said 'I need to activate a new Verizon phone and port a number from my old one.' The guy - a big fellow with a long beard - looks at me disdainfully and asks where I bought the phone. I said, online (on Monday, this hadn't been a problem). He says 'We don't do that unless you buy it here.' See, thing is, I can't type demeanor online. I understand that places have policies, but there are right ways to deliver it. Like 'I'm sorry, we can't do that because you didn't buy it here but there are lots of guides online,' for instance, would have been awesome. But this guy was a DICK. I mean, I can count on one hand the number of times I've been treated like that. Compounded on that I'm on a new medication which makes my emotions volatile so I got to go out to my car afterwards and bawl. I will NEVER EVER in my life EVER use that wireless place again. Seriously, phones break and if the guy had been the nice guy I would have gotten a replacement there. Now? No. They should seriously implement oversight for customer service. The one guy should get an award, the other should be given remedial lessons on how to not be a bastard to potential customers. read more
