That said, this review is really for people who aren't familiar with CVS or the U.S. drugstore setup. For locals, this is honestly an ideal CVS. It's clean, extremely organized, and very self-explanatory. Everything runs efficiently, and people move in and out quickly. Even when several customers walk in at once, checkout is fast and there's never a real line. It's one of those places where errands feel painless. The only real downside is staffing. There usually isn't more than one employee on the floor, and they're often busy stocking. If you're from out of town--especially if you're unfamiliar with self-checkout or need help navigating the store--that can be frustrating. While the layout makes perfect sense to locals, it might not feel as intuitive to someone visiting from outside the U.S. So while I'd absolutely recommend this CVS to locals for its efficiency and cleanliness, I wouldn't necessarily suggest it as the easiest option for international visitors or first-timers. Yes, it's a little weird to review a CVS--but that's my honest take. i

I've been here several times, and somehow each visit has managed to be its own unique episode of chaos. The main issue always seems to be whoever is working the register. Customer service is not just absent -- it has left the building, changed its number, and blocked everyone. I've seen employees yelling at customers, including one cashier who got upset because a customer chose to go to another 7-Eleven that accepts debit for lottery purchases. As the customer walked out, the cashier yelled, "THE WINNING TICKET IS HERE!!!" -- which honestly felt less like customer service and more like a dramatic prophecy from a gas station oracle. The lines are always long, winding through the aisles like we're waiting for a theme park ride, except the ride is disappointment and the gift shop is chips. Everyone just stands there, silently hoping the cashier finds either some pep in his step or one single thing in life to be grateful for. I keep giving this place another chance, but at this point I gotta call it quits, I'm certain I can find a store that respects me as a customer.

If you want the 7-11 experience, walk a block and a half in practically any direction and soak in a few thousand watts of fluorescent lighting, bright signage and wide aisles. If you want to get your coffee, smokes, giant can of beer, scratch-offs or soda amidst Girls Gone Wild DVDs, weed paraphernalia, blaring r&b music, the terminally unemployed and a micro-casino operating dodgily in the back, then Cost One is for you. The operators are nice guys, and best (worst?) of all, they allow dogs, so you can get coffee while you're out walking your pooch. The coffee is delicious, too. Pricing is seemingly random, but there are some items you can't find anywhere else in downtown. They have some cheap sunglasses and a little "tobacco accessories" section (including scales, pipes, papers and blunt wraps), if you're into that. Mix tapes from local hip hop artists are available at the register. Oversized white tees and other Dallas-themed apparel can be found in racks by the front door. Parking is surprisingly easy, but you're probably walking here. In case you're driving, there's metered parking around the side. This place is a little slice of East Dallas injected into downtown. I would give it five stars, but interacting with the homeless in an enclosed space can get a little sketchy. It also closes early for a convenience store. Still, my favorite convenience store in the city!

Empty shelves, no one to help, and when you walk in the door there is a display for laundry detergent I believe it was gain pods and the sign says 2.99 a bag less coupon making it $1.99 a bag. I pick up two of them I'm already a registered frequent flyer program there. Get to the register and they ring up full price I say something to the guy he pages through the coupon book and there is no coupon and I'm like well what is this sign mean. I don't know maybe it's something in the Sunday paper. He doesn't honor the advertise discount even though I have their coupon book. And he could care less about taking care of customers. It was Saturday night around 8:15 8:30 p.m.. Also their freezer case is not properly cold enough as the blue Bell and other ice cream is soft to the touch. Meaning you can squeeze it an unlike other stores the ice cream squishes versus being rock hard. You would think that the Walgreens on cedar springs would know about keeping things hard. read more

I had a horrible experience here. I was to told by a small female clerk with yellow teeth, I had to use the mens room, if I wanted to use the restroom. I loudly told here that was discrimination. (Dallas has a non-discrimination ordinance allowing trans people to use the right restroom) She called me sir and snicked at me. Then I said she was going to get a manager. I raised my voice and said she could a manager, the police or anyone she liked. She the said I should back up or she would hit me. I told her in no uncertain terms, if she attacked me I would defend myself. Then I stormed out. I will never shop here again. read more

As I write this, I have been on hold to speak with someone in the pharmacy for 25 minutes regarding a prescription that was supposed to be filled yesterday. No one has even picked up to ask me to continue to hold. No matter what time of the day, whether you call, go in, or sit at the drive thru, this is a typical wait time. I understand they are busy, but perhaps the manager needs to be told that so they get some extra help. It's not fair to keep patients, especially sick ones, waiting like this. read more

Tanisha in the pharmacy is AMAZING!! Thank you for all your help! She knew I didn't have insurance and found every coupon she could for me. She was also very friendly and helpful, despite how grumpy some people in line were. As someone in the customer service industry, I know how hard it can sometimes be to give great service with a smile, but she managed to do just that. Also there's Texas Rangers tickets on sale; I may have to get in on this deal next time I'm in the DFW area. I also like the wine selection and any food deals they have. Of course, you can never go wrong with the food court if you're in the mood for guilty unhealthy eats on the cheap. I still have a soft spot for the soft serve and hot dog combo as I do at all the other Costco locations. Just beware of the crowds and lines here!
