Loved this location until I had to report Brigitte the pharmacy tech for some reason... She was denying my refill when she had doctors orders to do so. She took it extremely personal and started shouting out my medical information in the drive thru intercom and said "I'll make sure you don't get this" 10 minutes later I did at the McKinney location which is 5 minutes away and has exceptional service and is very clean. read more

Do NOT go to this pharmacy. This is the worst staff of pharmacists I've ever seen. I just got out of the hospital for a major surgery. This Walgreens has all my scripts there, so I sent my care giver there to get 2 prescriptions filled.... each on a different piece of paper. The pharmacy tech doesn't speak English, but more like Jamaican. THIS is America. Hispanic people come here and understand you better than them! The pharmacy tech argued with my care giver in only receiving one script and the somehow it got lost in her hand. Once they traced it down, another from her native land denies my medicine that I desperately needed. I was discharged from the hospital at noon and my pain meds had worn off. He didn't follow instructions that were given to call my prescription company, which was needed to get an over ride. Instead, he called the doctor who wrote the script and paged the on call tech after 10p on a Fri night. Like he's really going to get it resolved that way... speaking to the doctor. Several words come to mind... incompetency, ignorance, inconsideration for one's health, failure to mulit-task. There was even another couple with the same issue waiting for their 2 med... which they wouldn't release either. This place is always a zoo, but this event tops it all. Overnight... they called 3 times and didn't leave a message. I asked them to text me when the order was ready and I never got a text. I slept in horrible pain all night. I called my mom to assist in the matter the next morning. I had already called Walgreen's to see if my order was ready and they said yes. The never mentioned on the phone they failed to run it through my insurance and were going to make me pay full price, which was about 51 dollars more than my insurance coverage. My mom didn't have that kind of money on her and they said hand them the phone and they'd take the payment on the phone, which they did. Something still didn't add up in the charge so I called my prescription. I became quickly aware that it was never submitted to my insurance. I called the store to ask them to refund the amount and re-run the dollar and 21 cents for the pain meds. They refused to do it... after they'd gladly taken my money. After all the frustration and inconvenience, seems to me they would have done this for me. Too unreal! I have to wait until Monday with there's a real manager that can do this for me. Be weary of using the drive-thru on the outer part. cars come speeding around you with closing in on inches of hitting your vehicle. Also, there's valet guys from several nearby eateries that whiz around you too. The layout of this horrible. The staff is aweful. The inventory is pathetic compared to the other Walgreen's and all CVS stores, where I'll be switching to ASAP. read more

It's the closest pharmacy to my place, so I will continue to use it for small, one-time Rx from my doctor (I use a mail-order through my insurance for primary Rx). My doctor sent over my prescription...and Walgreen's didn't bother to verify that I was not the other person with the same name/DOB. Nope, they saw the address and middle name were different but figured I must be the same person. It took about 25 minutes on the phone and 2 in-person visits to get them to understand. They finally did fix it and gave me my Rx...but still assigned me the wrong middle initial. Sigh. I also hate the fact I have to walk through a whole store of make-up and diapers and terrible food to get to the pharmacy, but that's typical of all these types of places. read more

I miss Luby's Welcome to a chain. Nothing really different about this one over any other (which is good when I'm out if town). Everyone in the store is helpful and friendly. There is a high turnover so don't expect to see the same faces for long. Some of the manager level have been there since it opened and this helps give a home feel. They know many of us by sight if not by name. This is what keeps me coming back. read more

The drive through is slow, but is a good option when it's late. I have had a good experience for the most part. It depends on the tech. If you go in the store it's a bit faster. They do have a Redbox though. read more

The store itself is fine, but this is literally the worst pharmacy I've ever encountered. They take forever to provide you your prescription regardless of the time of day or whether you go in the store or use the drive thru. You'll get an automated call telling you your prescription is ready and when you show up they won't have it. I requested my monthly prescription be placed on autofill and it was STILL never ready. The staff seems to know very little about proper customer service as well. Don't expect a "sorry for the wait" or "how can we fix this?" I've been coming here for a year because it's across the street from my office, but I can't take it anymore. Dont use Walgreens much, but when I do they always deliver on the service. Stopped in today to get toilet paper the price was a bit higher than I usually pay, but I didn't have to move my car and I was able to walk a block. The staff was friendly and the store was clean and organized. read more

Kudos to pharmacist Desiree and the rest of the crew at Walgreens. I had to have a special prescription filled today that requires a lot of extra work not only to get but special instructions. They were meticulous and both getting what I needed as well as making sure that we knew what to do with it and had all the things we needed to do it right. I am not entirely certain what the staff is doing at this location. It takes them 15 minutes to assist one customer in finding their prescriptions, and most of the time they are aimlessly looking at the computer screen, or disappearing off into the back. Want to go through the drive through? Forget about it. You'll stand in line for 30 minutes and probably wait even longer to even get acknowledged in the drive through line. I thought I might have better success at a Walgreen's location further out into the suburbs. Same issues there. I'm not sure if this is a staffing situation or just incompetence. But when it takes 20+ minutes EVERY time I go, I now dread the trip to the pharmacy. read more

The staff at this Walgreens is horrible. The black guy with glasses or at least I think he's black is just rude, always has an attitude and is always high or something. The other African American guy is so rude as well. The manager should fire them. The pharmacy technician Judith lied and the company refused to reimburse me my refund even though I was within their 10 day period. Caremark my pharmacy insurance said they could do it with in 14 days and did not know why they weren't refunding the money since I returned with my card. Caremark is filing a complaint with state board of insurance as well as myself for "bad faith". Their technician stated if I returned within 10 days they would return my money. I came on day 9. I also spoke with my doctors office to inform them since they recommend them. Walgreens should be ashamed. This lie and misrepresentation has me out over 200 dollars which I now have to submit forms for. Caremark insurance is shocked as well. read more

I have never been so offended by Pharmacy staff. A specific pharmacy employee that I have on video using my iPhone yelled at me like I was a child and attempted to snatch my receipt out of my hand as I noticed they forgot to run my prescriptions through my insurance. I have complained and provided the video to their corporate office to hopefully correct this horribly incompetent pharmacy before they mistakenly give someone the wrong medication and kill someone. read more

I have gone to this walgreens for the last 3 yrs and recently, i had been purchasing an item i know to be 16.99, but at the register it rings up 25.99. i reported this to a manager, who stated they would make sure it gets fixed. I went back 3 other times, once to check and it was the same, the other times i spoke with 2 different managers. The price never got changed. i gave this store alot of my business, but i dont like giving my money away. my message to you is.... always know what the price is and what your buying. Make at the register it rings for what you know the price to be, because i wont be going back anymore. i will drive to walmart and get it for cheaper anyways. The staff is not so pleasant in my opinion. The cashiers are too busy gossiping and not customer focused!

We have very little to choose from for everyday items in the Oaklawn / Design District areas. This Walgreens is always open, well-stocked, staff is most always friendly and helpful, and the shopping experience ALWAYS provides some sort of entertainment, oftentimes more hilarious than anything you could witness at the bars just down the block. It's sheds a whole new meaning on the new buzz phrase marketers use: "shoppertainment". read more

Do not go to this pharmacy! It is a complete joke and circus in there. There are like 7 people working behind the counter and they do not know a lick of customer service. I've worked as a tech in a pharmacy for 6 years and this is horrible. You wait in line forever and do not even think about going through the drive through. Poor time management by the staff. I had to wait over 30 minutes for a prescription to pick up (it was ready) at the drivethrough b/c some idiot was being helped probably due to insurance problems. DRIVE THROUGH IS FOR DROP OFF OR PICK UP ONLY! Then I went inside to pick it up while my husband waited in the car. The line was 5 people deep and I was so shocked to see that there were like 7 people back there working. I had my 2.16 to pay in cash just wanted to pick up. I know you are busy but you can eliminate a lot of the wait by asking and helping people that are just there to pick up, drop off, or ask a simple question like "do you have this medication in stock". No common sense by staff at all. I went there again last night to check if they had something in stock and had to wait behind 2 people just waiting at the register for their RX. The cashier could have easily answered my question by typing it in the computer to check the stock. 1 minute and done! No, she just continued to wait on the pharmacist to finish these peoples prescriptions. I transferred to Kroger. Don't know what I was thinking not going to Kroger in the first place. I went through the drive through pharmacy, waited 30 minutes to be acknowledged, only to be told they don't have my prescription and it's not in the system. So, please tell me why in the heck would I receive a text that it was ready? The attendant was SO unprofessional, not helpful, rude, and very unintelligent.
