The Manager here currently is a distant cry from several years past with Nancy & Geri at the helm. The service went from 5 Star+ to 1star- in the period since they retired. I was charged this year for shots I don't remember ever having, either due to my shortened memory bank or Parkway's ripoff scheme to charge Medicare for non-service, non-purchased items as Walgreen's is known for. read more

I am extremely unimpressed with the service! The lady who worked at the front desk looked at me with a very smug look, and told me we're closed in the snazziest way ever I didn't know the store was closed. Their sign is so confusing it was too, and they said that their lunch break ends at 1:30 who has a lunch break in the middle of the day what if I started dying rapidly of the plague and that is my only resort to go and get a vaccination Unacceptable service and business hours and they told me they didn't have a public restroom I stood there mouth wide open jaw to the floor was internally hurt. I was on the verge of peeing my pants. They said the nearest bathroom is at the Starbucks right next-door that Starbucks has a code. I'm too scared to ask the barista. I was so unimpressed I do not recommend going here, but they do have good retail so for that, I will give them a two star rating and conclusion this Walgreens is the most musty, crusty, dusty, crusty, and inaccurate place you can go in fact I couldn't even be on a phone call. I am a physician, got vaccine there 4 weeks ago, injection seemed unusually high in arm, excruciatingly painful injection, and since then shoulder very painful causing limited mobility with minimal improvement. At Thanksgiving learned another physician and his son had same experience there with different vaccine though fortunately both eventually recovered. I notified Walgreens head pharmacist Dan who said he'd check injection technique of the tech and get back to me with further instructions for managing this vaccine complication but he never contacted me again. I suspect injection went into joint capsule, ligament, or tendon and caused severe inflammation. Hoping I recover. My conclusion is this Walgreens location is unsafe for vaccines. Go to your doctor's office or some other more professional place. read more

Terrible service, called for prescription refill and still not ready 3 hours later, no communication regarding cause for the delay. Long line , most people have long waiting times as well. read more

Nice store.....originally from what I understand this was a 5 store chain at one point...it had that mom and pop feel, but from other reviews I read....since Walgreens bought three of them? (don't quote me) the service went south. My experience was quick in this store, but I liked it. Younger kids working inside but the management was professional all that I seen her. And she even held the door open for me, which was uneccessary but kinda cool. read more

Walgreens - Drugstores Near Me - Glencoe, Illinois

We have been customers of Parkway Drugs (now Walgreens) in Glencoe for more than 50 years. When the store was sold to Walgreens 5+ years ago, things stayed about the same. Not any more. The list of things wrong in the past few weeks (prescriptions misfilled, multiple scripts lost, improper instructions, long waits and more) cane to a head today. I attempted to return a script that was improperly filled due to technician error. They tried to blame the error on the doctor, which was absurd as we had specifically explained the details to the technician (the same one who lost a script last week). We went over the mistake in detail with the manager. While I understand why they can not take back drugs, and the $36 I was out of pocket isn't huge, the attitude to a long time customer was inexcusable. With all the other issues recently i would urge people to avoid this store. Try the Walgreen's in Winnetka - the people are nice and the service is excellent. read more

I love the crew that's been here since Parkway Drugs. However, my biggest complaint is the Monday morning prescription pickup. Clearly, when people come in at 8am when the store opens, they're on the way to work or somewhere else. I was third in line and waited 17 minutes before finally being helped by the pharmacy cashier. Not what I expected. When I did a search for a local Walgreen's it came up. I was surprised that it was just a pharmacy with a small amount of support stock. It was very quaint, as everyone seemed to know everyone else. It was not an in and out shopping experience, rather more of a gathering place for the locals. I had to wait a short time for a cashier to show up and ring me out. Defiantly old school. read more

I love the Pharmacy staff, and the gals who work the general merchandise that have been here since parkway. Some of the new folks are not as friendly, and the store seems much more cramped and crowded now. I miss the old parkway. This has turned a great local spot into just another corporate location, save the couple folks I mentioned. So disappointing. read more

The pharmacy star is top notch and always willing to go the extra mile with a smile - calling the doctor, the insurance company, or whatever is required. The general merchandise staff is equally as kind and willing to help or answer questions. Walgreens, thankfully, allowed Parkway to maintain its high level of service even after they purchased the store. Kudos to Walgreens and the employees at Parkway! read more

Walgreen's, (or as it has been known for most of the last 30 years, Parkway Drugs), is the absolute best drugstore we have ever frequented. Nancy Davis, the Pharmacist, is friendly, caring, knowledgeable, down-to-earth, and committed to excellent customer service. She has always gone the extra mile for us, even if she needs to stay after hours or change her schedule to help any of our family members in any way. The store's employees are all very accommodating and helpful, they remember our names, ask about our family, and always try their best to help us in any way, whether it be finding the best over-the-counter iron pills, or explaining the difference in toothpastes! We would never use another Pharmacy unless we were forced to, for whatever strange reason! read more

Shambolic and inadequate. I cannot believe that Walgreens would be associated with this location, or own it, if they in fact do. On my way home from a long afternoon of errands and retrieving my car from the service center, I decided that I would stop and buy a drink or two and use the restroom. I thought a Walgreens would be a good place to stop. This was the nearest 'Walgreens' to my location according to my GPS. In all my years growing up in Glencoe and the North Shore, I never noticed 'Parkway Drugs.' There is a first time for everything. Not only is this sorry excuse for a convenience store and pharmacy musty, cluttered, dingy, and beyond time-warped, it does not have a 'public restroom.' This was according to the un-uniformed bossman, manager, or whatever he is. After he enquired as to whether I needed any help, he informed me that they did not have a 'public restroom.' In my mind this had to be a joke! In most small businesses these days there is a bathroom or two that both employees and customers share, if necessary. Not only was this unbelievable, but I was told that the nearest 'public restroom' was at Starbucks down Park Avenue. I am sure that Starbucks appreciates the referrals... This place does not deserve to survive. Poor Glencoe! Families who pay as much as Glencoe residents do for their homes deserve better retail than this. I feel like a fool for having continued my purchase. I should have left and gone to Starbucks and simply bought my drinks there. read more
