It's a customer service industry. Treat customers respectfully. They are why you have a paycheck! He was gruffer with every minute. No biggie, really. I just needed a pic. He did it in a very perfunctory way. No conversation. No small talk. No problem. What gets my goad is coming home to upload tge digital image and seeing Walgreens dumbassery on full display: Their frigging ad tagline runs across the top of the photo! I had an absolutely appalling experience at the Walgreens on 4830 Grand Avenue in Gurnee, Illinois, specifically with the pharmacist Sara Power. Her lack of professionalism and disregard for customer service left me utterly disgusted and frustrated. Sara Power's incompetence was on full display as she mishandled my prescription, causing delays and errors that could have had serious consequences for my health. Her dismissive attitude and lack of attention to detail were shocking and completely unacceptable. Not only did Sara Power fail to provide the basic level of care and service expected from a pharmacist, but her rude and condescending behavior towards me and other customers was downright disrespectful. It was abundantly clear that she had no regard for the well-being or concerns of those she was supposed to be helping. I would strongly advise anyone in the Gurnee area to steer clear of this Walgreens location and to avoid any interactions with Sara Power. Her incompetence and lack of professionalism have no place in a customer-facing role, and I would caution anyone in need of pharmacy services to seek assistance elsewhere. This experience was nothing short of a nightmare, and I would not wish it upon anyone else. Every time I come here to refill a genetic Zyrtec d prescription they can't turn around and grab the boxes. You'll have to come back tomorrow. I go back the next day and they somehow moved the refill to the beach park location? This has happened twice. And since it's filled now in beach park they won't fill it in Gurnee. This is the worst Walgreens I've dealt with, ever. Always out of stock on needed medications, always rude over the phone. I had to refill a prescription and turns out, they now have a policy preventing them from refilling 90 day supplies of certain "high demand" medications. Did they tell me or my doctor that when the prescription was sent in? No. We just got a notice saying it was "too soon to fill" the prescription which was a lie. When I called I was told about this "policy" and then was told to go to CVS or Mariannos. Gladly, you won't get another cent of my money or that of anyone else in my family. Maybe this is why you can't afford to fix all those potholes in your parking lot? read more

Maybe I have an overly generous opinion because this place gave me my Covid19 vaccinations.  I have a tendency to really like people who save my life.  The pharmacists for each vax were efficient, polite, pleasant, and did not make fun of me for being childishly afraid of needles.  Unlike most Walgreens, most of the staff here seems to know how to wear protective masks during a pandemic, I really don't understand why this is so hard for others.  I like the way the staff handled the rude customer who butted ahead of me, they didn't make a scene that would have delayed service longer but instead thanked me for being patient.  There's really no talking to entitled White people, it really is best to just let them get what they want and get them out of the door sooner in situations like this. read more

I recently made a purchase that included 2 gift cards. The cashier, David rang up my items and I used a debit card for payment. The transaction was completed then the cashier informed me the Nike gift card for $80 did not go through but since my payment went through, I would have to make a separate transaction if I still wanted the Nike gift card. I informed David the card reader screen showed I was charged the entire amount of $115.79, including the $80 for the gift card. I confirmed this by immediately checking my bank account online. The cashier stated they have been having problems ringing up some gift card purchases because the cards are "defective." This is when David called another employee, Michael over to help. I showed Michael my bank account transaction for the full amount. He then looked in his system and pulled up a point of sale which he said indicated my bank was only charged $30.79 for the amount and did not include the $80 for the gift card. While standing there with Michael, I made a call to my bank and the bank representative confirmed I was charged the full mount. Michael said he had never seen this happen before and was doing his best to help. Michael then called his manager, Dominique on the phone explaining the situation. Dominique felt since the charge on my bank account was still pending, the $80 would "fall off" the total amount when the payment posted. I informed Dominique if this didn't occur, I would return the following day to which she advised me to bring a copy of my bank account records. When I returned today with my bank account records showing the payment had posted for the full amount ($115.79), Dominique could not have been less caring or helpful. She went into her office and returned 10 minutes later asking me to check my bank account again to see if $80 was refunded to my account. When I showed her my account did not have a refund, she again retreated into her office. She returned a short time later stating their system shows the $80 was refunded at the time of the transaction and that I was not charged for it. Dominique stated her manager told her I would have to wait 5 business days to see if my account is refunded. I explained 5 days is unacceptable as this is not my error, it is Walgreen's error. Dominque stated my only option is to wait 5 days. I asked Dominique if I could have the phone number for her superior and she said, "He will not help you with this problem." This problem occurred because of an issue with Walgreen's system and their response to this is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!! read more

The pharmacy at this location is teriible. the staff has a very bad attitude. They do not follow through with things they are supposed to and your prescription is always either out of stock or something is supposed to be insurance verified and they do not do it in a timely manner which causes a delay in getting your medication. This has been my pharmacy for 20 years and the service has declined over the past year or two. i wish I could give them a big fat 0 stars. Absolutely terrible! read more

Terrible pharmacy. I've been a customer for 6 years, never had a problem until 2 months ago. Suddenly meds are delayed or out of stock. They never answer the phone, I was on hold from home for 20 minutes waiting for a staff member. I got in the car and drove to the store while the phone rang and rang....When I got there no one was in line and the phone was ringing off the hook. HELLO! Answer the phone. Walgreens has been very convenient for me. I was able to order on line and drive up for my medications. Lately I have great difficulty obtaining my medications. My order was called in from my doctors office for a surgical procedure. I was told they had no medications for me, even though it was already in the pharmacy. They offered to call around and get the medications in a few days. This would mean I would never to cancel my surgery. Then they tossed me a bag of eye drops for $138.18. When I checked the bag, it was an item I was allergic to. I returned it and was told they could not accept it. Throwing medications in a bag without any description or information is not professional. I'm never going back. Much too dangerous to customers. read more

I honestly don't know what it's going to take to get this store in order. It's one of those situation where you loathe coming here but it's the only drug store in your area. The lines are always aisle deep and calling "I see three" does nothing but make you think they are calling for more cashiers. I came in to pick up a prescription and there were 2 people in front of me and about 4 behind me. Two workers running the register....35 minutes later....how does this happen?!! How did it take me so long to pick up one prescription? Additionally, they never seem to run the correct insurance information so every time they tell me my cost is $109.00, I have to correct them. It's get tiring. Lastly, I received a text notification that my prescription was ready for pick up. I get there and they didn't have my prescription and proceeded to tell me I was wrong- despite showing them my damn phone. Bottom line- this is the worst place. If CVS opened across the street they'd be screwed. read more

This Walgreens is perfectly adequate. It's not fancy and new like the one up the street on 21 in Libertyville, and it's not as downscale as its sisters in Waukegan. Let's face it, Walgreens has commoditized the corner drug store concept. There is very little differentiation from store to store. The people are trained to be helpful, and the product selection varies little. I have had no problems with getting my prescriptions filled here. With Walgreens refill apps for smart phones, it's fast and easy. I've been going there for over a decade and it's reliable. If I had any gripes, I wish the pharmacy were open 24 hours. The times on weekends can be short if you need something urgently. Also, there's no clinic there, so you have to go to the Walgreens on west Grand in Gurnee near Almond Road for clinic services. Otherwise, let's not pretend this Walgreens is any better or worse than the others. It's as good as any and not bad at all. read more

I needed to fill 2 per prescriptions. I got in line to have them filled, there was one person in line ahead of me. The clerk took care of that customer's needs, then turned away from me (no acknowledgement that I was waiting). Then proceeded to the window and helped 3 customers at the drive through. Then as she returned to the drive through, looked back at me said I'll be with you shortly. Finally another clerk who had been standing there, apparently observing others working? Said have You been helped? I stated to her that I would wait for my prescriptions. She ran it through my insurance. Then asked when I wanted t back & pick it up ?? I stated, I already said I was waiting, Then she said it will be 30 minutes, did I still want to wait??? Then just walked away, not saying a word. Very disappointing interaction, needless to say I will avoid this store & all walgreens stores. Save yourself the trouble, if possible avoid this store. They STINK. read more

Worst Walgreens ever. Went 4 times to get a prescription filled, got a different story each time: system is down/it wasn't ready/insurance wasn't covering it etc. Last time I called they informed me that "public aid wasn't covering it so you will just have to pay it" really?!... well maybe that's because they shouldn't have been billing public aid since I have insurance and good insurance at that! Never will use this location again, waste of my time and patience. read more

Repeatedly screwed up prescription orders. It's not just me - several family members have made the same mistake. If you order several items at once, order anything even remotely complicated, or order anything but the most common drugs it's pretty much a given that they'll either make a mistake or be out of the drug. I'm not exaggerating - they can't seem to handle complicated orders. In multiple instances they've given me the wrong medication or significantly wrong doses. Recently they gave me a dose that was 50% higher than what I take and then tried to shift blame on the doctor, claiming that he had "increased the dose." (We never discussed a dose increase and I talked the doctor later - he didn't increase it, they were obviously lying to cover up their mistake). They continued to claim that even when I showed them the hardcopy of a recent prescription showing that I take the lower dose. Their prices on other things are very high. read more
