I went to the Hartford Walgreens for a covid test. I scheduled my test for 4:00 o'clock on their website. The test is done through their drive-through. First, the intersection to get to this Walgreens is just awful, I know it's not the store's fault. But traffic is awful here if it's around after work hours. I pulled to the drive through and made it to the window just a few minutes before my scheduled time. I told the pharmacist I came for my scheduled covid test. Well guess what? He just walked away from the window. Not ok. I figured he just went to get my test. Well I waited and waited at the window without anyone saying anything to me about why I'm waiting. I waited for 20 long minutes. I'm sorry to all the cars behind me. Finally he came back with my test, I got no explanation or an apology for waiting this long at the window. Maybe the pharmacist is new, and doesn't know how to do things, maybe they're just not organized, I'm not sure what the problem is, but this is unacceptable. I will not go to this location again, there are plenty of Walgreens that know how to do their job and communicate with customers. read more

They are very quick to judge and discriminate everyone and treat you in accordance to how they perceived you. This is not only unprofessional but wrong on many levels. It starts with the security guard at the front, sometimes they are real cool and as long as your cool with them there is no issue. However there have been a few times that as soon as someone walks in that they don't like, they treat that person awfully. I understand they have a job to do however making customers whom don't and have never stolen uncomfortable all while other people are walking out with stolen goods. Yes, I have actually witnessed this and I hate to say it but it is always the younger white adults and sometimes random other races but always with certain people and that is not ok. My husband and I have been harassed many times for no reason, hardly walked in other than the ATM and my husband had a sweatshirt on with a drunk bought down the street and was harassed although he didn't have time while being watched and had receipt for it. Also, majority of people are cool but this one female employee has disrespected me and I've seen her constantly be disrespectful to other customers and her manager allows it and while bringing up her disrespectful and unprofessional behavior the manager always allows her to continue and laugh at the customer she upset. She has yelled across store to customers rudely, called me and other customers names consistently without personally knowing them. Slandering customers for no reason except maybe because she doesn't want to do any work or move away from flirting with other employees so when a customer needs help she yells and disrespectful calling people fat, stupid, fiends, poor .. I've heard it all out her mouth yet she continues to get paid to stand around flirting with those who are not interested in her bad attitude. It disgusting how she acts and actually allowed to. Don't know her name but she is younger, dark greased up hair stuck to her forehead, chubby with dark black eyes like the devil. You can't miss her awful attitude and loud mouth and I honestly can't understand how she still has a job acting like that. read more

I placed 2 photo orders for pick up around 7:45pm and received an email that they were ready for pick up at 10:52pm. I arrive to the store around 12:20am which is empty by the way and head to the photo counter and press the button for assistance. An employee walks over, looks a little confused then tells me he's gonna grab the manager because it's his first day on the job I'm like sure no problem I totally get it. So called "manager" continues to carry his conversation with the security guard for a good 10-15 minutes before finally walking over and doesn't even greet me just asks for my last name and phone number. I'm like whatever I just want my photos and get the heck out of this ratchet Walgreens. Next thing I know security is following me to my car asking if I purchased the photos because the rude employee (with no name tag) told him I walked out without paying. I PURCHASED THEM ONLINE WITH A LITERAL RECIEPT ATTATCHED TO THE PHOTOS. I will NEVERRRRR return to this ghetto store. Security guard was nice about it at least. but overall TRASH SERVICE!!! read more

What Walgreens branch did Meaghan D. shop at? "Clean"? "Very friendly employees"? This Walgreens has to be one of the sketchiest drugstores I have ever shopped at (see Chad E.'s review). Like the CVS across the street, people are asked to bring their backpacks up front (or rather, as the sign at the entrance says, give it to the security guard...who is never in sight). So, as I'm walking into the poorly-designed, maze-like store to bring my backpack up to the counter that's flooded with people, my presence is made aware to all the shoppers as the cashier loudly announces that I should really bring my backpack up front. Thank you, miss, that's what I was trying to do all along, but it takes a good 15 seconds to weave my way around the store to even get to you. At least the Walgreens staff guards my backpack, unlike the CVS staff (see my CVS review, as well). The photo center is useless. Hardly anyone staffs the counter, so if you need to pick up your photo order, be prepared to wait. I waited a good while, and finally resorted to calling someone over to help me. The staff member spent minutes looking for my order. Turns out that the photo I ordered, which was printed hours beforehand, was still on the printing tray next to the photo envelope. Apparently, it was too laborsome for someone to put a photo into an envelope. My wallet was lost/stolen in front of this Walgreens, and when I reported it to the Hartford Police, they told me to talk to the security guard to look at the store's outdoor security camera footage. As I mentioned before, the security guard is never in sight, so I was forced to talk with the store manager. The manager (whom I've encountered far more than I'd like) is an incredibly passive presence, which doesn't really help when it comes to enforcing all the rules instituted at this Walgreens. When I told him what the police told me, the manager feebly told me that I couldn't look at the camera footage, even with a police officer present -- a far cry from what the Hartford Police said I would be able to do. He didn't seem really committed to any sort of reasoning as to why his answer was "no", so I really couldn't find a way to argue with him. SO frustrating. So, why 3 stars instead of 2 (or lower)? First, the store and its pharmacy is open 24-hours, which is incredibly convenient. Secondly, the store is in (intentionally) close proximity to CVS, which easily allows me to compare prices and shop the deals at both stores. Thirdly, the pharmacy staff, while often overworked, is out-of-this-world fantastic. When I ran into an insurance snafu trying to get an immunization taken care of, the pharmacy staff spent nearly 20-30 minutes trying to figure it out. They never once complained and were so kind to me, even after I made a last-minute change to what insurance I would use to cover the immunization. Any sub-standard pharmacy staff would have flown off the handle at my minor issue, especially given the crowds of people that always come to pick up prescriptions without proper identification and paperwork. All in all, I advise you to take this review to heart and know what to expect when it comes to the really good -- and the really bad -- at this Walgreens. read more

A staple go to pharmacy if you are staying in Hartford or visiting someone at the hospital. The parking lot is old and outdated and gives doubts about whether you should go in. Spaces are difficult to find and amazingly small to fit so most other people just park however they like. They also have panhandlers near the entrance which can be ignored, but come on, where's the security? Once inside everything is clean and workers generally have a smile on their. There are dollies with merchandise in some aisles almost every time I go but clean nonetheless. The aisles have many selections that cater to just about every need and the oddball novelty as well. The pharmacy during the day here unfortunately is terrible. Long waits and people in a foul mood with lack of staff some days don't help either. The photo lab is a problem too because when you need help on the machine either no one is around or they are ringing out customers, which is annoying. The seasonal aisles are the only problem I think in the cleanliness of this particular store and what I mean is that it's almost always empty. But a good place for late night munchies or picking something up for a friend or relative at the hospital. read more

Terrible pharmacy. Every time I tried to fill a prescription it took 3+ visits before they would get it right. Pharmacist and techs were unwilling to help with or take responsibility for all the mistakes. Store is dirty and ill-cared for. Go anywhere else. read more

The line for the drive thru for the pharmacy is rediculous! I have waited for over a half an hour to get my prescription. Not enough staff available in the pharmacy when it gets busy or in the whole store for that matter! Managers need to remove the sticks out of their asses too! read more
