I cannot depend on this Walgreens to refill my prescription. They are always closed because of some internal problem.

However the techs in the pharmacy are trained, is not working. Trying to obtain a vaccination has been a complete nightmare. There is a total lack of communication between staff. Save yourself the frustration. read more

I ordered photos from this Walgreens on a Saturday. I received a message from the manager that they would be ready to pick up around 10 am on Sunday. I went into the store at 12:30 and they still weren't ready. The staff said they wouldn't be ready for at least another hour if not more and gave me attitude when I wasn't pleased about it. They need to be more honest and save people time and gas if the photos aren't going to be ready. The pharmacy seems to be very understaffed. You always have to wait to pick up prescriptions. The drive thru is just as bad.I don't stop unless I have about 45 min to spare. Very unorganized. I've been with Walgreens for many years. But this last five years they have failed in all areas. When Dr sends in a prescription they say they didn't receive it. When you re-order your prescriptions they say they don't receive it. Or thirds no re-order and they have to contact the doctor. They say the doctor doesn't respond. I've contacted the doctors office to find out and they say they have not received anything. It takes days to receive my medication. This last Saturday I stayed on the phone for 3 1/2 hours while I was cleaning my kitchen. After 3 1/2 hours they finally picked up the phone and hung up. I'm diabetic. And I also have kidney problems. I will no longer use wall greens. read more

We've tried to fill a prescription over the last several days and have had nothing but hurdles to deal with. Manager of the Pharmacy said that they ordered the medicine and we could stop back within an hour to pick it up. Returned within an hour and after waiting over 35 minutes in line because one person was working the counter We were informed by the same person that oh we don't have the medicine we need to order it. This is exactly what they said last week when we were here. With gas costing over four dollars a gallon you'd think people would be a little more conscientious. the manager of the department who obviously is in the wrong job is disappointing and infuriating. I recommend that if you're looking for reliable service that another store might be better for you. I cannot recommend this location at all !!! horrible service !!! read more

This pharmacy is in dire need of flexible hours. If you close the doors on customers needing their medicine, the fault falls on you for delaying our need for medication. It's like you are holding them for fun and it forces customers to scramble to find free time to return the next day. What happens? Angrier customers and LONGER lines. Another thing, one of your staff who knows I am DEAF apologized she could not take any more people and for me to go to the drive-through. Do you think I can hear through the speaker? Nope. My doctor's office even called into the pharmacy and was on hold for an hour and a half trying to let them know I was outside in the car waiting for my turn to get my medication, before my appt tomorrow morning in Monterey. They NEVER bothered answering their call and disconnected them. There were 3 cars ahead of me that were turned away. When I pulled up, I pressed the call button and didn't understand a word of it so I KNOCKED on their window hoping someone would answer. Nothing happened. So, I went back into the store hoping to talk with the manager to explain that I am DEAF and in need of communication. I, along with another customer, was turned away! What does this tell you?? BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! And because of this, I will be looking for a more reliable pharmacy that understands Deaf customers and have better communication. If I could rate this pharmacy a zero I would. I am a Kaiser patient and had a prescription sent here. My newborn son had a yeast infection type rash under his armpit that needed to be treated. I showed up they told me it wasn't filled and to wait a half hour. I come back, wait in line and then they tell me they are out of one of the creams. So I go home and wait for them to fill it entirely. I go back and they give me two creams. Little did I know that they were actually out of the third cream that I had no idea about. I get a call 4 days later telling me that the third was filled. So I have been treating my son with only two of the creams this entire time. Never ever going to this pharmacy again. read more

Incredibly rude Assistant Manager Martha! I came in the morning to get a passport photo and the lady running the front counter AND photos was very sweet. She had computer trouble and tried to page Martha for help. Martha completely ignored her and in fact my husband and I could see her moving empty boxes and talking a delivery man. After 15 full minutes of the other lady struggling (and 3 pages to Martha) i walked over to her and said "excuse me can you please tell the other lady, we've been here for almost 20 minutes" she didn't even look at me, brushed past me and muttered "I'm coming". She messed with the comp for another 10 minutes not even looking at us or saying a word. She apparently fixed it (it started printing) and walked away without a word! We were there struggling for 15 minutes! The other (blonde) lady was very apologetic and sweet. Does Walgreens even want customers???? read more

After a problem nearly every time I or my my husband get a prescription here, we've finally transferred our prescriptions over to Safeway. The staff at Walgreens are all very nice but not only are they extremely understaffed, there's always an issue. Whether it's saying that the insurance isn't authorizing something to finding out that's not the case an hour later after many phone calls etc to medications being out of stock with no known replenishment date, it's just way too much of a hassle to deal with this pharmacy. We've had excellent and quick service at Safeway and are taking our business over there. Too bad because I loved the convenience of the drive thru. Totally disappointed. read more

This is the worst pharmacy ever! 1. The drive thru staff also works the front counter. This makes no sense. 2. Their computers have been down for days, which means the pharmacy can't dispense medications, yet their emails continue to tell you to pick up your medication or it will be re-stocked. 3. They can't transfer your medications to another Walgreens. How this place is still in business I don't know. This is a review for the pharmacy. My husband's medical insurance requires us to use Walgreens. They are awful. They can not get the correct medications in. When they do come in, they are not on time or they only have half of the order. I have had to wait hours for them to refill a prescription. Glad to see this store in Hollister at last. I went in on the first day and was surprised to not see a huge crowd as is often expected at new store openings. I've already been in the store several time since the opening and it's never very busy. Check out is always fast and easy. I'm glad to have it in Hollister! Will be going back more! read more

This review is for the Pharmacy. If I could give this zero stars I would. I used to work in the pharmacy for Walgreens, in a few different states. I'm not sure if it's just CA walgreens or just this location. The techs needs to be retrained. I've never encountered bad pharmacy service until I moved to CA. 1. Acknowledge the drive thru...don't just let a patient sit there for 5 min. and not acknowledge them... they can see you through window every time you walk past it. We get it, you are busy. But some acknowledgement " hi, we will be with you in a moment" will at least let the person know in the drive thru that they will be helped. 20 mins in a drive thru with no acknowledgement is not good. On too of that Walgreens has a policy of calling an "I See 3" meaning management in the front store needs to come over and help. There's also the backup of the pharmacist to help at the registers. Which I've never seen here at this pharmacy. Unless it was a counseltation unless they just want them as "button pushers" all day long. 2. MOST IMPORTANTLY Call the PT. Let them know...if its refill too soon, no refills left, or out of stock or any other type of problems with the RX... Don't just "store" the RX into the profile in hopes the patient can read your mind. It's all about great customer service. Walgreens pharmacy is the main money maker for that whole business not the store. 3. Don't just make stories up about the patients RX and why it's not ready...you NEVER know if they work or used to work in a pharmacy setting. It'll just make you look like an idiot. 4. If you make a mistake. the RX isn't ready when it should've been ready....don't tell the patient to come back in 1.5 hr. Tell them it's about a 15 min wait. It's the pharmacy who messed up not the patient. After today, I will be transferring all my prescription elsewhere. read more

I went to Walgreens to have some film developed. I stood in line for 10 min with no one coming to my aid even after being paged by the cashier. I was very annoyed. When I came to pick up my film, I again waited in line for over 10 min. The worst part I was 2nd in line. I had to leave. I dont know how many people are employed there, but two people is just not enough. If you do have to go to Walgreens located in Hollister I recommend not going on your lunch break like I did. read more

The manager denise is extremely rude, flustered, and just all around not friendly. I ordered some pictures and she rudely told me to come back in an hour and half. So I did. She was stocking an idle when I came back and I asked her if my pictures were done and she must have told 3 times that she cant help me cuz theres a line. I dont care about cutting people I just wanted to know if my pics were ready or should I come back. She was not friendly, zero smiles. So she tells me to pay and I had to wait an additional 15 for her to finish my pictures. Which is exactly why I was asking for heradvice. I ha e been a manager for over 14 years and when you are working, your on stage. Your setting examples for your employees a d letting your guests know that your the friendly face they can Count on when they need assistance. I love coming into the store people are so friendly. Pharmacy has lately been supper busy, but it's because they bought ANSR pharmacy. People need to understand that at the beginning it's going to chaotic until they get everything straightened out. The pharmacist Debbie is awesome and so is her team. Why you have six employees standing around in the front of your store with 4 customers standing in line is ridiculous ignoring customers. Then looking at you 10 minutes later while you're standing in line to finally come over and open 2 more registers is ridiculous!!!! Always a problem with this Pharmacy. They gave me the wrong medicines last time, this time they had to contact the doctor even though they have the written prescription. If you want a issue come to Hollister Walgreens. Failed to mention they are horribly slow. The drive-in ringer hangs up on you after 100 rings had to phone store for service. read more

This review is solely about the pharmacy. They use to be decent and I primarily used them for their drive through window. Recently their customer service has hit rock bottom. The staff is somewhat friendly. However, their phone wait times to talk to the staff are in excess of 1/2 hour. If you endure the wait time it will often take them north of 3 hours to fill a prescription. I understand that they might be busy. But, they need to hire the appropriate staff to handle the volume of customers that they have. Well, I'll make it easier on them... I just switched my prescriptions to ansr where they answer the phone immediately and the wait time is 10 minuets. read more

The pharmacy here is the worst. There always seems to be an issue when filling prescriptions; always out of stock for basic items and orders take forever to arrive to the store. Other issues involve claiming they need authorizations from the doctor (even though you have a prescription) to needing approvals from the insurance. All of which seem to not happen unless you are calling non-stop and on their case about it. Otherwise your prescription won't be filled. My advice is to take your business elsewhere. I've finally had it. I'll be leaving to either Safeway or Target/CVS. read more

Went by the Walgreen in Hollister ca, on my way home from work to get a flu shot. made it to the pharmacist desk in about 8 Min because it was not very busy. Got my paperwork at 4:06.And was asked to take a seat at there waiting room. While I was sitting there, I watched as a lady walk in and was escorted to the room where they give the flu shot, she was out in 5 minutes and out the front door. at that time I stood up and asked what was the reason for such a long wait for me. the girl that was behind the counter asked me to hold on, then she came back and escorted me in the room. When the lady came in to give me the shot, i asked is it normal for a standard flu shot to take 45 minutes. she said she was sorry my paperwork was misplaced and she had no excuse for what happened. I walked out the front door at 4:55. I have been in this store maybe 3 times and it always seems to take a bit of time for proscriptions, But a Flu shot ? . I used to go to Rite aid across the street and they were pretty good about time. But since Walgreen's was a new store I figured i would give them some of my business. Would not recommend coming here for passport photos. Super long wait when it was only myself and another customer when I first got to the store. No one was staffing just the photo area. Employees were very rude or not paying attention. *Was not shown the final picture or asked if it was acceptable before picture was printed* Price was also extremely high for 2 passport photos. Overall, would not recommend, please go elsewhere for your passport photo needs. read more
