And she then has the absolute audacity to say that "I saw you on the cameras" this kind of blatant discrimination and harassment against women of color can not continue. The fact that this is a black beauty supply store and this woman had this bias against black woman is beyond disgusting. I would not make the mistake of giving this place my business ever again. And had I had the time I would have gone back and returned all the hair I purchased. These people do not deserve any of my hard earned money. I mostly came for the brand name shampoos and haircare products they have at a good price. The staff is knowledgeable and approachable. You can always ask them for an advice. And I can't really talk about service. I didn't really need any help this time. So, my main contact was at the check-out counter. I'd come in due to some recent black Friday sales ads that were advertising specials. I thought I'd take advantage of them. But it turns out, that they were only available online. And one of the other items I traditionally buy never seems to be on sale except for professionals who would be buying the product in bulk. Oh well. I did, however, have a loyalty credit to use before the deadline, so I did get a few dollars off. And I did find a large round hairbrush of the type and size I'd been looking for -- unsuccessfully at another Sally's --- so that was a positive. This isn't a store I'd normally shop at. I stopped here because I was in the area. But its nice to know what they carry should I be nearby and need something in the future.

I continue to walk along the aisles and I look over and I notice he is staring me down out of the corner of his eyes. Finally as I'm checking out they ask to see my ID to make sure that my credit card belonged to me. Interpret this as you may but I believe they assumed I would steal something or commit credit card fraud. This store is located in a low income neighborhood so I don't know if they have to be on guard because they encounter these things often but I didn't appreciate it. I pray for the day when no one will discriminate against others because of the color of their skin.

I know it may seem trivial - but I live far from the store and I love the fact that I can call and make sure an item is there before having to drive 25 miles. I was looking for a wig and I went in there with an idea of what I wanted and unfortunately after the first couple of attempts I looked ridiculous and Chantal took charge and started getting wigs that suited my face more. Chantal was very kind and patient - going back and forth to the back to find other options and I was there for a couple of hours with her complete attention. It was a great experience all round.
