I am honestly surprised by the reviews I am reading for the Issaquah Walgreens. Perhaps it is because I am in the medical field and understand how the prescribing process works (verifying insurance, verifying Dr. Rx, not to mention illegible handwriting), but patrons need to understand that pharmacists have a lot going on when they are behind the counter. Yes, they know you are waiting, yes they understand you might be in a rush to pick up your prescription. Get a grip people... I have encountered several different pharmacy techs and pharmacists at this location and have nothing but good things to say about them. I rarely have to wait long in the drive through or inside, but then again I have patience. I have a feeling a few of these "yelpers" have no idea what it is like to multi-task in a busy not to mention high stress level. I desperately need to find a new pharmacy. The biggest annoyance is that you have to wait in the same line as those picking up prescriptions to just drop-off your prescription. I'm used to there being a "Drop Off" line AND a separate "Pick-Up Line". I went to a 12:30 Dr. apt yesterday and she sent the prescription directly to Walgreens. She also gave me a hardcopy rx for another drug. So I wait in line to pick-up the one that was already sent and to drop off my new one. The time was 5:40pm. I was told they were "just finishing up the rx" and that the 2nd one I dropped off would take 2.5 hrs (!!) I return 2.5 hrs later, wait in a long line again and then once again am told "they are just finishing up my rx". They def. need to hire more staff. I think I will move my prescriptions to Bartels or Rite Aid. read more

The pharmacy was brutal. Filling a prescription at 12:30am. I said "I need a prescription filled please". The old mean lady said "you mean you need to HAVE a prescription filled." It's always nice to be corrected by a mean old lady working at the pharmacy drive through at 12:30 in the morning. Just because it's a pharmacy doesn't mean they have to disregard customer service. But, maybe that's why the mean old lady has to get work somewhere in the middle of the night. No need to be rude. I'll go somewhere else next time. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. They are awful. And clearly don't care about customer service or that their arbitrary decisions impact people's medical care. I called with a question on my prescription once, and the pharmacy tech was super distracted. I asked if it was an imposition on her that I was calling. She literally said (and I'm not making this up) that she was "doing three things at once." So I asked the natural follow up - Do you often multi-task while giving out medical information to patients? No real answer of course, but it makes me afraid for how much they are paying attention when they fill prescriptions too. Next experience - I was on vacation, and had forgotten my medication at home. No problem, there's a Walgreens there, they filled a replacement for me. That's what makes a national chain so convenient, right? And worth putting up with their long lines and slow service for? So now its time to refill, I call to do so, and am told they cannot refill it because my prescription has been "closed" and my doctor will need to renew it in writing as a result of my having it filled elsewhere. Huh? What's the point of all Walgreens being one company? Why would they assume, when I very clearly told the pharmacist that I'd been on vacation, that it is ok to "close" my prescription without discussing it with me? So do to a clerical error and employees not wanting to take the responsibility to fix it, everything is delayed. Awesome. And never again. read more

I wish I could do negative stars. I shop here frequently at night because I'm a busy professional, a mother of a 3 year old baby girl, and a wife of an amazing man. I shop at night because it's quiet, I'm not wasting valuable time that I could spend with my daughter or hubby, and I like empty stores, silence is peaceful and I unwind. Usually. Every time I come into this store there is one worker who is obviously not friendly and I avoid her at all costs. I'm not there to be judged, I'm there to buy my things and get out. I'm hurrying through the aisles grabbing my things (hubby gets upset if I'm gone long, I feel the same so I hurry, no harm no foul). I'm almost ready to go to the checkout when I hear "Are you almost ready to checkout miss?" I turn and it's the resting b**** face employee who I try to avoid because every time I catch her glance, she's glaring at me. Not even exaggerating- I shop here enough to know for a fact she targets me and therefore I avoid. I just happened to get too close to her this time on accident and she was within distance to speak to me, and oh boy did she. I answered her "Yes, I'm grabbing this last item and I'm heading up front, may I ask why?" And she responds with "You're acting extremely erratically and you need to leave the store! Now mam, you need to go right now!". I responded with "I'm trying to hurry home to My family, I apologize." I was dumbfounded. I have never ever in my 32 years on earth been asked to leave anywhere, let alone a store that I spend at least $1000 in each month. If you ask any of my friends or anyone who knows me, they would tell you I get along with everyone and I'm extremely polite and reserved, so erratic? I got upset so I start thinking to myself, well this girl is extremely overweight so erratic to her is anything over a slow mosey, right? More of a shuffle, not a walk. And she must be hangry, because my chicken bone body is pissing her off. No meat on these bones, they are licked clean from constantly being on my feet. I was appalled. I told the man at the register and his action of not making eye contact and the fact that he started shaking because she had come into view made me realize she's a bully and even the male employees are scared of her. Anyways, how she has been allowed to work in public is a mystery to me. She should be fired, she's downright mean and abusive to customers and her fellow employees. Where is some decent managementi when you need them, because I spend a lot of money here, but they just lost me as a customer and I'll make sure I spread my message and bring more along with me on my crusade for friendly customer service workers. People who are not friendly and abuse power should not be in public. read more

Pharmacy review: I went to the urgent care down the street and left there about 6:45. They sent my Rx to Walgreens and since I knew this pharmacy always has issues with the time to fill the Rx, we went to dinner. Got to Walgreens at 8 and had to wait in line for 15 min... Okay fine, but when I finally get to the front they say they don't have an Rx for me. I call the urgent care and they confirmed that it was sent there. So they call Walgreens and verbally fill my Rx. An hour later, I come back and they are still "working on my prescription." Just the most recent scenario. Other times I've had issues are when only certain employees know how to bill my insurance so I can't get ny full Rx, wait times of 1hr+, estimated wait times being totally off, etc. I'll stick with Bartells from now on - they're local anyway. Pro tip: If you get your Rx sent here, call and make sure they have received it. When the wait time is over, if you're not there in person, call and make sure it's actually done. read more

Customers are always complaining about the pharmacy for one of two reasons. The pharmacists give them attitude or they want their prescriptions yesterday and don't have the patience to wait. I guess online prescription ordering is unheard of with these people. For the store itself, friendly staff and easy to locate what you want and if you can't find it help is always available. I've been into other Walgreens and not had the same welcoming atmosphere this one is friendly and inviting. read more

This is for the pharmacy only, the other Walgreens employees are very friendly. I used to come once a month for prescriptions but after my last visit, I'm never coming again. Each time I come to the Walgreens, there is always a different pharmacist and pharmacist technician. I've never seen the same person twice.. weird. On my last visit, I received terrible service. I went up to the counter and 30 seconds later a car had pulled up to the drive thru. The guy decided to help them first. That's fine, he probably thought they were there first, I can wait a few minutes. Instead of helping me next, he decided to help a second car that was behind them. He said he'd be right with me but that never happened. Eventually, the pharmacist on duty came up to help me. She said it should have been first-come, first-serve and apologized for his service. Unfortunately, this was the last straw. The last few times have been less than stellar. Plus, the parking lot is terrible. They need to change the one-way entrance to allow you to exit and turn right. Good luck if you want to head back towards the highway. read more

Was ready to give a good review to strike a balance between reality and all these awful reviews....but the reviews are right this place just sucks. Was quoted at 15 minutes and waited over 2 hours (this was from 8pm-10pm on a Tuesday with no line and people trickling in). Also only had a third of my script when I asked several times to verify they could fill it entirely. That being said the tech was friendly and generally helpful and wasn't at fault in any way. I don't know if it's pure volume, out dated system, or an incompetent staff of maybe some unfortunate combo but something is off about this place. The first time I came here (2014) the tech just couldn't figure out how to enter my Rx ID and basically just said I could pay full price or try somewhere else...went to QFC which was flawless and has retained by business ever since. Go somewhere else. Whatever reason you have for coming here I promise it's not worth it. read more

After obtaining my Starbucks, which I was whining about not getting earlier because Peter is very much a schedule person, everyone was kind enough to bend in to my childish antics about procuring my usual caffe latte. After coffee, there was a Walgreens located in the same strip mall, so Peter drove me over so that I could purchase some hand lotion and ponytail ties, since my long hair had been bugging me all morning. Walgreens is my new savior when it comes to drugstores. Given Target was my home away from home in Sacramento, but gone are the huge conglomerate warehouse like presence (Walmart, Sams Club, Target) and Walgreens little corner shops are now my places to go. Granted the deals are not as great and I do miss my weekly foraging in Targets across the states, but the ease and flexibility of getting my usual shampoo and soaps are now within easy reach. Typical layout, typical drugstore goods, great customer service. The clerk asked if I was from out of state, and I asked him how he knew. Just thought you had an accent. Wow. Went for Compound W for my kid and of course it was available on amazon, but i support local when possible. It was $12.99 and online there were $8 dollar ones. But, They have other stuff, so I went for it. Staff has been there forever and pretty clean store. i can't complain having a 23-hr store nearby. read more

I wish I could put a minus star because I have problems with the pharmacy all the time. I am forced to use Walgreens by Medicare because I am on an insulin pump and Medicare has contracted with Walgreens to supply its patients. So, I have had one whole shipment of insulin (10 bottles) tainted and gave me very high blood glucose readings, actually, I was untreated with insulin for 4 weeks; I have had three bottles out of 10 be bad at least twice every year; I have to prove to them and Medicare who I am every 90 days. It is a mess. My only complaint with Medicare which is actually pretty terrific. When I have complained to Walgreens, they give me 6th grade answers. read more

Had another poor experience at the pharmacy last night. Emily was handling my order and had no clue what she was doing. I handed her my glucometer kit so she could give me the correct size of lancets. She screwed up and now I am stuck with 100 lancets that are way too big for my glucometer. Emily's batch read " client service coordinator " should she be even dispensing drugs and needles? Does she even have the license to handle this. I want a refund for the lancets. How am I suppose to even use my glucometer now? read more

I've had issues with this pharmacy for sometime. At times, I came across kind staff and had always assumed most of my issues were related to poor staffing or training. The lines are always exceptionally long and it seemed the staff would push the button to notify me that my prescription was ready when it was not. I even had a situation when I was promised my husband's prescription would be ready following a hospital discharge when it was not, leaving us in a potentially unsafe situation. Today, I witnessed the cruel treatment of an older gentleman by a staff member named Jose. The customer was clearly frustrated and appeared frightened for the safety of his ill wife. The first staff member was curt and not very kind- leaving everything to "supply chain" issues with zero accountability and when he asked for help, she told him to just call pharmacies that are not affiliated with Walgreens. Then, Jose just stepped in without explanation, spoke over the gentleman in a condescending tone and, when the customer asked for Jose's last name, refused to give it. Jose treated a scared and frustrated older customer like a toddler. It was horrible to watch and, after reading another review involving Jose, I cannot believe management allows him to continue to treat others this way. Being ill and navigating a complicated health care system is hard enough. There's no reason to treat seniors with such contempt. read more

I have been dealing with this Walgreens since 2004 and it is a very busy pharmacy. They have very good employees that will go the extra mile for you and they at times have some crabby employees, but as whole I think they are doing the best they can under the day in and day out circumstances... They are dealing day in and day out with great customer and some not so great customers. I'm happy with what services Walgreens has to offer me. I appreciate that I can go anywhere in the country and still have them help me with my prescriptions. I think they are doing the best they can. read more

Please remember that you have a long line of people behind your customers that may or may not be buying sensitive otc meds (lots not in the pharmacy any more.)For that reason please use the lower shelf provided when laying out sensitive otc medicine, people might not want them on display. read more

I shudder to read any more reviews on this pharmacy. Over 4 years -- the phone assistance and our family's drive-thru experiences have been STELLAR!! Probably these Luddites are trying to steer everyone East of Mercer Island away from this golden-gem of rapid customer service. We've had insurance changes, surgeries, etc. -- the pharmacy staff is a pleasure to work with and SO caring. Note: after age 5, you can't teach good manners -- so you better hire people who already have them!!! C'mon. True, if I have to go inside the store to buy stuff from the non-pharmacy section, I just bring my patience and understand that we've all been through rough times and sometimes just need a job. Doctor increased the amount of script and sent to pharmacy. Went in to pick up and the pharmacist didn't like the increase and told me so, twice. I picked up and paid for the order, got home and the pharmacist did not increase the amount as directed by my doctor. Had to go to another location, get my doctor involved (the Issaquah pharmacist had not updated the records) to get the prescribed amount. Second complaint, slower than any other pharmacy I've been too. Service was bad!! read more

This is literally the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. We have had our prescriptions here for many years and they are absolutely terrible with their history and fulfillment of prescriptions. I order prescriptions online, receive confirmation they will be filled via email, and they find they have no record - order has just disappeared. How is that possible with a company that issues prescription meds? It is every time. I am diabetic and consistently order monthly insulin and Rybelsus. They should know I am a recurring monthly prescription and have meds on hand. They are consistently out of stock. My last straw is an order I placed in 3 weeks ago. Again, out of stock and message said it's on order and they will call me soon. Nothing. Called today to check on status and they said, 'oh looks like it never came in we will have to order it again". I repeat I am DIABETIC and need these meds. Completely unacceptable. They cannot get it soon enough so told me my option is for me to call other pharmacies to find it myself. Well, I will do that AND transfer all other prescriptions from Walgreens Issaquah to that new pharmacy. Truly terrible pharmacy. Good riddance and please beware. read more

Apparently asking to purchase children's Tylenol at the drive through while picking up an RX for children's liquid Tamiflu (antiviral flu med) is not in the pharmacy tech's job description. I really thought it wouldn't have been a big deal since I had two children in my vehicle with confirmed flu and I was picking up a known flu medicine that they had to mix when I picked it up. You would think someone in that occupation would know the importance of not bringing sick and contagious children's through a Walgreens. I asked for a bottle a children's acetaminophen. I asked for any brand just as long as it was grape and children's strength. The woman helping me acted as though I was completely putting her out. If I hadn't had sick kids in the car and the RX ready, I would have just left and bought it somewhere else. The tech comes back and shows me different infant tylenol a through the window holding them up one by one, acting severely annoyed by my request. I told her that she grabbed all the infant bottles and that I needed the children's not infant. Her attitude became even worse when she had to go back and grab the right strength. Between her horrible attitude and lack of knowledge on different strength's of Tylenol, I refuse to use this pharmacy. I shouldn't have to explain to a pharmacy tech that infant means baby and children's strength means over age 2 and there is a difference in bottles. This woman's is behind the pharmacy helping to fill RXs and mixing up Tamiflu for my son and she doesn't know the difference??? (and could care less) To make matters worse, I tried using a coupon for the Tamiflu in which she had to enter some extra info into the cash register. Because my 2 year old doesn't have an email address and didn't register himself for the coupon, she wouldn't let me use it (it was register to my email address.) I had enough of this woman to care about the $10 off coupon and just cut my losses and got my sick kids home in bed. To this day, I refuse to do any business at Walgreens because of the terrible pharmacy experience. I transferred everything to Bartells where I feel confident that the pharmacist is actually overseeing what is happening behind the counter. Perhaps it wasn't in this woman's job description to grab a bottle of Tylenol off the shelves but I almost preferred her to just refuse than to have given me such awful treatment at the window. read more

I wish I could give a negative number for this review but I can't so I'll settle for a one star. My friend and I were having one heck of a night after having the lady at the Walgreens in Ballad slam the door in our face when we were there right at 11 pm. After letting that experience settle we decided to call the Issaquah pharmacy. Well, well, well... the pharmacist or technician that answered the phone, later to find out her name is Kim, was abrasive and rude. We were trying to explain what had just taken place and our need to transfer his heart medication to this pharmacy, when she abruptly interjected and with an irritable tone, "Well, they close at 11. Name, please?" After hearing that, my friend told her that he didn't like her tone she did what any other decent customer focused employee would do...and hung up on us. I'm surprised she hasn't been fired due to all the complaints. read more

Time and time again this pharmacy has let me down. I'm finally done. They either don't have my meds in stock or are horrible at communicating when it will be ready. I stopped in today to pick my my monthly insulin. They tell me it's not in stock so I ask for my prescription to be transferred to another pharmacy. They then say, "let me double check" and confirmed they actually do have it in stock and to come back at 3:30 (90 mins later). I come back to pick it up and they tell me my insurance won't cover the costs until tomorrow because it's on a 30day cycle so I need to come back tomorrow! Why they couldn't tell me this info the first time around is beyond me. I'm officially moving my business elsewhere. read more

The good first; Clean parking lot, trash cans aren't overflowing at the entrance, isles aren't so cluttered that a wheelchair couldn't access them and employees are visible in various departments. Those are some goodies that I've noticed and are important to me. The not good; In the two years I've been a customer, the pharmacy staff, in general, do not usually practice good customer service skills. Acknowledging a customers presence promptly at the counter or at the drive-thru. Asking drive-thru customers that are in need of more attention than a simple drop-off or pick-up, to please come inside the store to better meet their needs. Asking the customer to verify the medication before leaving the counter or driving away. That last one may seem like common sense, but to me, it's a patient safety and a customer service issue. Having an appropriate number of staff members available during peak business times in order to accommodate the additional customers. When customers call in, not answering the phone in a timely manner. Additionally, it's bad enough that a customer must navigate the--what appears to be endless, automated call routing system but then having to wait 10, 20 and even 30 minutes to talk with a member of the pharmacy staff is not good customer service. There are other pharmacies, unfortunately there isn't another Walgreen's pharmacy in the Issaquah area. The statements above are my opinion and not directed at an individual employee, rather the business in general at the Issaquah location. Finally, the way a business conducts themselves is, for the most part, a direct representation of their product. Customer service, accuracy and attention to detail in a medical and pharmacy includes patient safety that should raise the bar for standards...not lower it. Thank you for reading. read more

Well, sad to say but I am not a fan. This coming from a customer whose wife worked as a pharmacy tech for 15 years at Walgreens through late high school, college, and grad school. Talk about SLOW!!! I have came in for a prescription, been told to come back half an hour later, only to come back half an hour later(if not longer) and have to wait another 10 minutes! Seriously. Been going to Walgreens forever but this one is just not worth it. Moving all my prescriptions to Bartells. It took them forever to fill my prescription (for something that's usually a 10 minute wait) and I had to stand in a really long line three times: to order, to check on status, and to pick up. This Wallgrens pharmacy is consistently understaffed. Wait time on phone calls, in my experience, has never been less than 20 minutes. More than once, an online refill made a day ahead was not ready at the time posted at time of order. I've only stayed with this location because it's open 24 hours, but the aggravation just isn't worth it. read more

I called this store to ask about potential drug interactions between two prescriptions I recently filled. The pharmacist decided to take it upon herself to lecture me on the addictive quality of anti anxiety medication... Yeah, I know these can be addicting. I barely ever take them... sorry my life is so insanely stressful and my doctor felt they would help me??? She barely answered my question and felt compelled to "warn" me multiple times and lecture me on seeking other help while taking the medication. Thanks lady, I already am and I shouldn't feel compelled to share that. She basically made me feel mildly ashamed for admitting to taking a medication that is prescribed to me... never going to or calling this place again! read more

This Walgreen's pharmacy needs to get their heads out of their a**. I have been coming here for years to get the same epileptic medication and every f**king time my prescription runs out of refills they go through all the regular protocols except when my doctor clearly states this patient may not have the generic they skip over that detail and refill the generic forcing me to come back... On top of that now they are trying to get me to spend 300 on a 90 day supply upfront.... Newsflash not gonna happen. Horrible customer service. read more
