I believe this is the second (or third) Walgreen's I've reviewed which I know is random, but I ended up having Really good service here, so I felt the need to document my experience. Forgot my eye makeup remover-God forbid-so I made my way across the strip to this Walgreen's outside of Planet Hollywood Very large store, and it took me a good five minutes or so to seek out what I was looking for. The item in question ended up being towards the front of the store NOT in the travel-size section as I would have expected. Didn't matter, I was just happy to find the item in question. Line up front was kind of long, but I'm not going anywhere so I step in behind everyone else. All of a sudden, a girl that was over in the beauty area came over and said she would take me over at her area (where I didn't even know had a register). Myself and a couple were walked over, and I offered for them to go ahead of me since they were ahead of me in the initial line, but they politely declined. Employee asked if I found everything I was looking for and made this a very smooth easy transaction. If you want to get your drink on at night on the Strip, this location is excellent. Just a few steps from the sidewalk, you can get messed on the cheap. ABC Stores have some serious competition. The drink area is in the far back, and the entire room is refrigerated so you can spend a few minutes cooling down while browsing for your drink of choice. THE PRESCRIPTION FOR HEALTHY CONVENIENCE ON THE LAS VEGAS STRIP Walgreens is the Las Vegas Strip's convenience store. They sell a vast assortment of goods from a pharmacy prescription to an ice cold can of beer to a Las Vegas souvenir. Walgreens is currently the closest the Las Vegas Strip has to a supermarket. People on the Las Vegas Strip seem to love and cannot get enough of Walgreen's. The upshot is they are over saturating areas of the Strip with stores (all along the east Tropicana to SLS sidewalk). This review is a report of the Walgreens standing over the northeast corner of the Las Vegas Strip at Harmon Boulevard in the shadow of Planet Hollywood. Ever since this Walgreens opened a couple of years previous with the completion of the Harmon Avenue pedestrian bridge, I have stopped here more than my public check-ins reflect. And why not? This two floor Walgreens sells the products that tourists and locals need at a slightly yet not obnoxiously inflated price. Being that this is a desert it gets hot outside. Walking along the Las Vegas Strip, the hot weather causes a nice thirst. Depending on my mood I have stopped here for a beverage in their Coke Freestyle machine or an ice cold one in their beer cave. The can of beer is usually less than $5 which is a bargain compared to the casino shops and some of the bars yet not as much of a bargain as the 2 for 5 deal that ABC Shops usually has on a 24 ounce beer. It's not just beverages. Sometimes people develop dry eyes, a headache, or ailment. Walgreen's is a place to go to when you need a pharmacist or over the counter medicine. I remember when I was a tourist visiting Las Vegas in the mid 1990s that the hotel gift shops would rob you blind if you needed an aspirin. I recall outrageous prices that would equal close to what a meal at In N Out would cost for a couple aspirins. Walgreen's is also a Las Vegas Strip gift shop. They have an aisle featuring all kinds of Las Vegas souvenirs from magnets to calendars to mouse pads. All at Fair prices. As I stated earlier that this is a two story Walgreen's. The larger footprint is on the lower level. Both levels have a register. From my experience, everything that I have visited the store the lower level has had a long line where the upper level had a short line. When I am on the Las Vegas Strip; convenience to a beer or cold beverage, sunscreen, or any consumable is important to me. I'm not sure I've ever given a Walgreens a 5-star review but this one certainly deserves it. From quality of products, cleanliness of aisles, and helpfulness of employees, this location takes the cake. We needed more sunscreen, razors, and snacks for the group while staying across the street so two of us ventured over in the heat of the day from the Cosmopolitan. A quick jaunt over the pedestrian overpass and down the steps put us in an air conditioned haven while we shopped. Everything here is clearly laid out in neat aisles that are wide enough for groups of people to pass. They have a refrigerated section of wines and champagnes if you are celebrating something and are in need of any of those. While the options for healthy and or gluten free snacks were lacking, they had all of the basic needs items and souvenir items as well (i.e.: towels, keychains, shot glasses, etc). The line at checkout seemed long but moved quickly. The employees who we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Way to go Walgreens! read more

Love this Walgreens with fantastic prices compared to all the hotels it is near. I love in the cosmopolitan which is only a 5 minute walk from the Walgreens. Here they have a huge case of water for $7 with a believe 32 waters which is a great deal. I also bought other items like vitaminss, mouthwash, milk and cereal, they also have a section with sandwiches and salads which are pre made. I tend to avoid Walgreens or any drug store but alas we needed a few things and there's an assortment of Walgreens up and down the strip just for that reason. I regretted the trip but damn was I impressed. This is quite possibly the best Walgreens I've been to. Not only does it looks clean and amazing but they also have these pink and purple lights on the ceiling, spacious aisles, and a deli area with a fancy drink machine. This Walgreens is super big! It's like the size of a small department store or something. You can come here for all of your medicine and basic food needs. They have an extensive selection of ready to eat foods like fruits and sandwiches. The prices here are a little high but for the convenience it's probably worth it. We popped into this location to grab some allergy medicine for someone in our group. This place was gigantic for this chain. They had tons of options from the regular convenience chain necessities to tourist deals (magnets, post cards, etc.). We snatched up a few post cards so we could send them to family and they were much cheaper here then in several of the surrounding locations. If you need a quick stop off for a bottle of water or medicine to take care of any ailments you may get from being on the Strip - this is a great stop! This is certainly Walgreens done Vegas style. Firstly this place is huge, in fact it has two floors, and where else but the Las Vegas strip could you find a Walgreens that has a sign on front that must require half the electricity of the Hoover Dam to power - well okay, not quite, but it certainly makes its presence known among all the other glittering lights of the strip and definitely is hard to miss. This store has pretty much everything you could ever need as someone vacationing in Vegas or visiting the strip for a business conference. For things like beverages and souvenirs this is somewhat cheaper than you'll find in the gift shops in the major casino hotels. It's also conveniently located on the strip and not a long walk if you're staying at MGM, New York New York or other hotels in that particular area. Service was great every time we visited here and there are many checkouts that make any visit a speedy process once you get used to where things are in the store. Definitely great to have this right on the strip. It's certainly not super cheap, especially for a Walgreens, but I'm also sure this is some prime real estate. But it's handy beyond belief and because of that I'm a fan and will certainly use this store again next time I find myself staying on the strip in Vegas. read more

So why am I writing a review on a Walgreens? This isn't your usual Walgreens. Housed right in the middle (not exact) of the Las Vegas Strip, this Walgreens serves as the only "grocery" within eye's length. I'm sure there are other options, but this Walgreens stands out with its large sign and optimal location. This is the go-to place for drinks. By drinks, I mean soda and water. The prices are fair, and it's exactly what you need if you don't want to be paying for overpriced sugary drinks. Now, if you want alcohol, that's a different matter altogether. This Walgreens has a tendency to overprice just about everything it sells, so buyers beware. Alcohol was more expensive than even convenience stores, and even candy wasn't affordable. As mentioned before, if you need your liquids, this is where you stock up before heading to your hotel. For other snacks, you're better off grabbing to-go at a pizza joint or fast food on the Strip. This is a great Walgreens conveniently located on the corner of the Miracle Mile shops and about a 10 minute walk from our hotel. It's 2 floors and most of the time we accessed it from the street level. We came here to buy breakfast food as we had a kitchen in our hotel and wanted to make use of it instead of eating every meal at a restaurant. The selection is pretty good with cereal, cut up fruit containers, frozen breakfast sandwiches, yogurt cups, and more. But the prices are high and back home it would be the same or less. The ABC store had similar prices except 10 or 20 cents more or less. The beer was cheaper than back home and at the bars. The downstairs has a big souvenir department and you can get hoodies and sweatshirts for the cool Vegas nights. There's a cosmetic department if one needs to get dolled up for a night on the strip. It seemed that most shoppers were tourists looking for a snack or meal. It's 24 hours and was often busy but only a few people in front of us in line to pay. They had a lot of cash registers open and staff were competent. read more

I had just stopped in a CVS a few blocks north, and it was a mess. Dirty, hard to tell where the line started, aside from not finding what I needed. Oh you fancy huh?!! This is the biggest, nicest most mod Walgreens! It's two floors with plenty of everyday and trip necessities. You can even get some higher brand (used to be carried at the likes of Sephora) cosmetics and skincare here with the integration of the LOOK boutique. The woman behind the counter was so helpful and she put on false lashes for me. I just wished she told me before I checked out at the register that the application fee was $10, but she was even gracious enough to offer to do them on cheap Ardell lashes. I went with a pair of super thick Pop ones ($13). She did however give me a few samples & I usually get lashes put on at the MAC counter at Nordies which has like a $50 or $75 minimum. Sephora has a $50 gift card purchase requirement towards items used in make up application sessions, so in the end this option was so much more economical. By far THE BEST Walgreens I have ever gone to. I've had the luxury of flying into Vegas the last two trips that I've taken. This is great because I'm not spending hours in the car but it also sucks because I cannot bring more than 3 oz. of liquids on my flight unless I want to check my bags (that's a negative). Cut to buying booze at this Walgreens. It is a convenient walk from the Cosmopolitan where I stayed on the first trip. We just took that bridge from the Cosmo to Walgreens for alcohol, Powerade, chasers, Pepto Bismol, candy, snacks, popcorn. You name it, we bought it at this Walgreens. Cut to the second trip in Vegas: we stayed at the Marriott Grand Chateau - also walking distance. We pretty much did the same alcohol run. However, on this trip, I did a haphazard job at packing and forgot my eyeliner. No problemo. This Walgreens has the BEST cosmetics section ever. My friends hovered around the fragrance section and even ended purchasing the one named "Between the Sheets" (made for an interesting talking point with cab drivers). I picked up a great liquid eyeliner which has now replaced the Sephora one I was using before. The line to check out looks really intimidating but here's a secret - you can check out that the register in the cosmetics area! From here on out, I will be planning Vegas trips and where we stay in Vegas based on its proximity to this Walgreens. Legit. read more

I just came from here where I was sent by my boyfriend to get a few things and was turned down because I didn't have his photo ID for the Visa gift card his work gave us to use on our trip, even though I offered to show alternate forms of ID that both showed our names together on documents provided by his company that showed the company name. The only reason I was asked for an ID in the first place was because the cashier couldn't seem to figure out how to ring up two cards on one transaction and had to call the manager over, which should not be hard. So not only did the first cashier try to swipe the card without an ID, when they made a fuss about it despite my offers to show alternate forms of ID for us, they didn't even ask for my own ID when I swiped my own card, and they didn't even ask to see my card. For all they know I could have been using another one of his cards. Just terrible customer service. read more

This Walgreens is my favorite Walgreens, which has a nice Vegas flair. We stopped in here more than a few times during our visit to grab items for our Vegas stay. What a convenient location being right in the middle of the Strip, right next to Planet Hollywood and across the way from the City Center. There are two floors with plenty of shopping space. The aisles are easy to navigate and doubly wide. They have a large selection of alcohol and even a whole shelf devoted to half-bottles of alcohol, everything from tequila to wine. These smaller bottles were very convenient for our last night in which we didn't need full bottle sizes. They were even giving out free samples of flavored rum one afternoon. There are some cool souvenirs, including Vegas tank tops, baby outfits, glitter coffee cups and tumblers, pink and zebra print flasks, magnets, postcards and glitzy bags. I saved on a LV coffee traveler mug here, paid $9.95 and found it outside of Walgreens for $14.95. Stock up on your souvenirs here, you'll save yourself some money. There are between 6-10 checkout windows for easy in and out checkout. The lines flow very nicely and the checkout clerks were all very pleasant. Even the security guard manning the door gave everyone a friendly greeting. I'll be hitting up this Walgreens during my future Vegas visits. read more

Let me just say that NO Walgreens could possibly top the one in Chicago at Milwaukee and Damen, but this location is a close second. This Walgreens has EVERYTHING. In true Vegas style, there's a beauty counter that sells high-end perfumes and cosmetics, a large liquor section (complete with 'to-go' beers and wine coolers), a large dry food section and a DELI COUNTER. What?? It's like a mini grocery store complete with all the things that booze-loving gamblers need. Walgreens is an inexpensive alternative to eating and buying drinks in nearby hotels and casinos. The prices here are definitely higher here than they are at a typical Walgreens, but that's still cheaper than the casinos. I recommend buying booze, mixers and food here and brining it back up to your room. They even sell disposable coolers and ice so you don't have to mess around with your hotel's fridge and get charged for touching things on those scales. My favorite parts were the fresh foods (sandwiches, fruit, etc.), the snack selection (and cheaper Walgreens brand items) and the liquor. Definitely a must visit if you're staying nearby. read more
