I have to say this is the biggest Walgreens I have ever been in and it deserved a shout out. They have tons of cold cheap water. I say that because my first night here I was really dehydrated and in need of water, God help you if you are caught down by the Flamingo and those casinos, we paid nearly $4 for the same bottle Walgreens wants $1.00 for. However, my son asked me just today, why wouldn't you just sit down in the casino and get your water from the drink servers running around. Yeah, that works if you are not zombie crawling up the vegas strip in 90 degree heat wishing you'd remembered water. The line for this Walgreens was rope style and it was packed, they had us out the door in less than five minutes and that my friends is how Walgreens got a whole 4 star review... for having their crap together in the middle of chaos and drunk gamblers. read more

Recently we stayed at the Cosmopolitan, which is right across from this Walgreens via a skybridge. And one of our kids had a sudden bout of horrid GI pains, so we had to run to this drugstore late one night. And man, I was SO impressed by this store! So much so, the family and I returned 3 or 4 times in the following days. What makes this place so special? It's big, clean, well-lit, and has a nice security guard inside by the front door (he always says hi and goodbye, and is really pleasant). And it has everything. I mean EVERYTHING: a beautiful cosmetics area with some really nice make-up lines I had never heard of (although my teen daughter, who is "hip" to trendier cosmetics, had heard of these lines - but never had seen them before). There is a HUGE selection of Vegas mementos and souvenirs and t-shirts - all at great prices (and decent quality, too!). I got some cute LV socks here (3 pair for $10). Of course there the usual pharmaceutical items. There's an upstairs, but I didn't venture up on the escalator, so I'm not sure what items are sold upstairs or what department is up there. There is a lot of wines and liquors for sale. I was impressed that there were refrigerated snacks and sandwiches as well (we don't have refrigerated foods at our Walgreens or any of our drugstores here). I like how this store is open 24 hours. I like how I was easily able to find employees in the aisles who were nice and happy to show me where various medicines could be found. I like how the cashier area is well-organized and the check out line is well marked, and how the line always moves at a decent pace (at least, it did the 4-5 times I went to this store). And the cashiers were always pleasant, too. The only reason I'm taking off one star to the rating is because, when hubby was purchasing an item here, he gave the cashier $20 and the lady gave him cash back for $10 and he had to "remind" her that he gave her a $20 and needed the proper change back. I normally wouldn't review a Walgreens, but this is the best Walgreens/drug store I have every been to! Located at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, you can enter from the sidewalk and walk into the greatest assortment of necessities and tchotchkes you will ever see! They have everything a girl would need in Vegas, including razors, makeup remover, speciality makeup products, nail polishes, and sunbathing essentials. There is a large walk-in cooler with beer and wine and even more beer, wine, and liquor in the store. There are grand Vegas souvenirs, including massive cups that you can bring with you out on the streets of Vegas. In addition, they have a large fresh food section, including fruit, sandwiches, yogurt, and drinks. You can stock up here instead of grabbing the marked up products located in the hotels and minibars. If I knew this wonderland existed, I wouldn't have brought half the things I did, I would have just ran out to buy a mini bottle of sun tan lotion and makeup remover. read more

The store was clean and well stocked with a variety of products, even fresh fruits and salads. I know this is in Vegas, but everything was super expensive unless you found a sale. I scored 2/$6 12-oz Red Bulls, which was amazing, but a really small salad that looked fairly anemic was right at $7. Walgreens is essential to survival in Las Vegas. Don't waste your money buying snacks, lunches and alcohol from the little convenience places in the hotels! Come here and get all your alcohol, snacks, sunscreen, beauty products, etc. We saved money by eating several breakfasts and lunches from Walgreens. They have lots of yogurt, cheese sticks, prepared sandwiches and salads, etc. It's also an excellent place to stock up on postcards and souvenirs. Most of the souvenirs here are so much less expensive than other shops. And, you can use your Walgreens rewards card, earning you points for stuff back home. They also have really cheap water. Centrally located next to The Shoppes at the Palazzo. Huge store, with great selection. But, the prices are definitely pricey--at least for food they are. If you have time and want to save your money for Vegas venues, trot on over to the CVS on the opposite side of the street. The prices are much more reasonable and will save you a few bucks. It'll take you 10 minutes to get there, though. Not enough pedestrian crosswalks, grrr! Grabbed a Rockstar Punched at $2.99 for my friend. The checkout line was crowded, but cashiers were fast and the line moved quickly. I appreciated the single line system, rather than the chaotic one-line-per-stand system at CVS. For some reason every time we go to Vegas, this is our go-to Walgreens for emergencies or if we need food or water for our room back at the hotel. It was super convenient that The Signature Hotel that we stayed in last week was around the corner so it was super close. We parked in Planet Hollywood's Self Parking, easy-peasy and made our way to Walgreens. They have a great selection of... Everything except sweats. They don't sell sweats here apparently. Trust, we spent 15 minutes looking. They sell sweaters, shoes, and socks, but no pants. They do sell underwear though! In large sizes only it seems. It's actually pretty clean in this shop with two levels of everyday necessities, groceries and food. Still kind of pricey compared to home, but still better than most stores in Vegas that will charge you an arm and leg for a bottle of water! Liquor... On The Side Below? Going in here was a purely fact finding, prime directivey type mission. I had to observe, I even put my shades on at night. I have seen the flow chart of alcohol questions to clerks on the strip faar too many times. It goes like this: "Is there any store we can buy booze like the way we do back home?" (It's called buying package liquor.) "What about-" "no, casino shops are too expensive." "Well then-" "We don't want to gamble to get one." "Well, there's-" "We want booze cheaper than a casino bar." And then there's Walgreen's, recently gaining another location on the strip every few months, to go for their cut of casino booze business. "But they're more expensive than back home?! Or even off-Strip locations!" Yes, they are. Your liquor store back home sits on a piece of land whose entire county isn't as valuable as a retail space on the Las Vegas Strip. And this mother's a duplex! This is what you have to pay if you didn't plan front loading a cooler for your vehicle or room before you went to the Strip. Believe it or not, the messenger is often verbally berated as so many exit ports of mammals, instead of their CEO preying on casino guests, or casinos themselves being the "chosen predators" of their patrons. Comes with the territory of The Strip I say. A bottle of water is $3, just like a beer off strip not even 2 miles away. Locals be all front loading! Yes. All you gotta do is plan a little. I checked out the register staff, there were no people stocking. So I went to my browsing, to see what they had. If you know me, you know my love hate relationship with this chain. If not, it's best told over drinks with pieces of fruit skewered by novelty swordpicks. The store was busy and in disarray when I was there. They arrange the checkout lines that Fry's Electronics made popular. Retail had sex with a bank by the dumpster and spawned this type of line. It does herd cattle thru a lot faster. And nothing puts me in a red seeing rage like watching a long line progress faster than the 1 person in front of us style check outs. For a pharmacy, there are a few new novelties they're trying out. I know that the busiest locations in the chain are in fact those on The Strip, so they get all the flagship-y experimental frills. This location has a walk in beer/ wine cooler that's pretty coo. They also have a bartender type information screen, so you can find out what's in a drink or what you can make with their (not necessarily in stock) selection. They do have one thing that tugs at my nostalgia strings: Icees! I grew up on Icee Bear, saving all the coupons to get logo stuff in the mail. Most of their locations disappeared with K-Marts. To me, I can always count on those in Walgs as much as the ice cream @ Thrifty's. They got all the basics that may in fact still cheaper than Strip casino stores. Definitely a bigger selection in a pinch. People debate this chain with CVS. Basically, it all boils down to what we're closest to when we need birth con- uh, sundries. Every pharmacy on the strip has the same problems from what I've seen, for over a decade. Personally, given a choice I actually prefer ABC over both. They have a cooler (Hawaiian influenced) selection in most categories. I saw what I needed to see. I didn't find who I was looking for, so I was off to Twin Boobs. Uh perkys. Uh, Titty Peaks. Uh. You have to love a 24 hour store that has everything you could ever possibly want! Great location in the middle of the strip. The line is always super long but it goes by fast since they have like a hundred people working around the clock. Any type of food item you could want to snack on while walking around, to take back to your room, for the drive home, whatever - you will find it here. You want a silly Vegas souvenir? You can find many to choose from. Did you forget to bring lipstick or sunscreen, look no further. If you are super hot, or maybe want to by some beer Walgreens has a big walk in beer cooler for you to cool off in while looking for a beer to drink as you wander along the street looking for more beer. First off, my review is not from some freelance professional writer that is paid to write positive reviews for many businesses. Now that I got that out of the way, I have to say this a huge Walgreens. It's new, it's bright, and it's relatively well stocked. It connects to the mall which generates a lot of traffic. However, in my opinion, that's pretty much the only good thing about this Walgreen. Is it any wonder why Las Vegas is one of the most expensive cities to live in the USA? Well, this Walgreen's prices are outrageous. It's about three times the price of most Walmart's in the country and twice as expensive as the Walgreen's off the strip. If your hotel gift shop sells items including food for only slightly more than Walgreens, there's a problem. As such, I can not rate this business 5 stars. That means everything is perfect. I get that this Walgreens is on the strip and prices are high anywhere on the strip. This is Walgreens though and I expect more. They put their brand name on the store and this represents their ENTIRE company. As a former ASM of Walgreens, this location makes me very sad that they operate the way they do. The prices here are insanely high. Prices on items that the manufacture prints on it are marked higher then this by the location (specifically food items), the staff appears to be mad to be at work and they even charge 75 cents for a cup of ice only. I get that it costs money, but at the same time for a health and wellness company to charge for a cup of water and at high margin prices at this is just laughable. The CVS on the strip as well as much better prices, friendly service and just a overall more welcoming feel to it. I really do to get how corporate can justify the prices this location charges. If Walgreens was smart they would have maybe a 25% increase in prices over a typical Walgreens at most, which would lure guests from around the US (well and world) in to their store and provide a great marketing exposure for how great Walgreens can be around the country... All in all though, it is a very clean location and is a new modern design. It is smart to have snacks and drinks right when you walk in with a few quick grab items. This Walgreens is located inside one of the hotels on the strip. It is two stories so its not as small as it looks. The service here was not as fast as I would have liked. This Walgreen has a manager who states that other managers don't know their job. He refused to price match using Walgreen app and required the actual weekly ad paper . Dude the wild is going paperless. At 3 am he told me to go to another store. Well the store manager stated he was wrong but has refused to speak to me. This is probably one of the biggest Walgreens that I have ever been inside, with the largest variety of items. The makeup area is not your typical drug store makeup, and even looks more like one of the Sephora stores within a JCPenney than anything else.
