I'm here a lot it seems. All my prescriptions were transferred here after my longtime smaller pharmacy closed. I like it. They are great at getting you refills before you need them and with reminders about what you'll be needing again soon. Very good with insurance and familiar with co pay relief transactions. This is a lovely store but my family continues to experience issues with the pharmacy. In addition to long waits in person and on the phone, lack of actual pharmacist to answer questions about medication, and general annoyed attitudes from pharmacy staff, this last incident involved 4 trips to the pharmacy, 2 calls from nurse and a call from the doctor to get a prescription, involving multiple components, filled correctly. It took 7 days to get the proper prescription option for seriously ill family member. No compassion or empathy and no apology for errors made by the pharmacy staff. read more

The pharmacy, which I've used for about 10 years, has really gone downhill. My dentist twice had to call in a prescription for me, and the automated status check finally today said they had 2 prescriptions for me. Well, since my dentist had to call twice, I figured they gave me two fills of the same drug. No problem; I'll use it. But when I went there, the staff - who had me waiting and waiting - finally said they didn't have anything for me. Three people got involved in trying to figure this out. One person, who seemed more senior, kept asking me if I ever lived in another state (no), then asked for the prescriber's name and found something for someone from that prescriber for a patient with my name. But it was a different drug than I usually get. The dosing information was correct, so I thought perhaps my dentist had ordered something different this time. No, she didn't. Walgreens gave me the wrong drug, The wrong drug! Interestingly, the name and address of the person on the Rx receipt was for a different - out of state - address. And there was just one Rx, not two for that name. Clearly they've got more than one patient with my relatively common name, but their system is completely messed up and has us utterly confused. At least they billed the other person's insurance, not mine. However, I've changed my pharmacy to another (not a Walgreens) on my health system portal. I'm done with Walgreens! read more

After being a Walgreens customer for years and years, this location's customer service particularly the pharmacy is abysmal. I have never ever had a good experience at this location filling my monthly prescriptions. Whether it be telling me "it'll be ready at 3:00" and it's not there or treating me like I'm intervening on their lives when I am in line. I don't need fluff and puff nor do I need a smile. I had my 1st vaccine appointment today at this Walgreens location and I am sure as many of you already vaccinated can relate to the mixed feelings I walked in. Since I was checked in, a super nice and professionally elegant pharmacist quickly got the paperwork done and asked me to wait. she had such a kind and nice attitude that make me fell not anxious or wondering whats next . This pharmacy has the most rude, incompetent staff I've ever seen. This has been going on for years and something needs to be done about it because this is completely unacceptable. I had a prescription filled 3 days ago and I couldn't get it because insurance wouldn't cover it apparently. I tried to pick it up my prescription again today after having the insurance straightened out, then the staff tried to tell me it was filled 2 weeks ago and that it wasn't there anymore. Peoples health and prescriptions aren't something to be played around with, this could be potentially dangerous if they were to give someone the wrong medication. read more

Store is about 4-stars. The pharmacy on the other hand... 1-star. On more than one occasion, they called to let my parents know their medication is ready for pickup. When said prescription was being picked up, 20+ minutes until they were able to finally get their meds. If you receive a call saying that something is ready for pickup, one would assume it should be READY, and not have to wait. Overall 2-stars. read more

An actual pharmacy person calls me to "discuss" my medication and ask about refills. When I go to drive thru which is more like park & wait, only one was filled. The young woman says the other can be refilled but I couldn't wait & said I would be back. Now they claim I picked up the first medication and "check at home" like I'm demented? The rude young man claims he will check the camera but reiterated it was picked up. Now what? Avoid this place as it screws up my husbands refills as well. read more

It's just like any old Walgreens, nothing particularly special about it. It's within walking distance and I don't have a car so it is convenient for me when I want snacks and stuff. Don't listen to people complaining about poor service because when was the last time you went to a drug store/convenience store and you had great service? I have found that the pharmacy department is the most incompetent I have ever experienced. The pharmacy assistance have no knowledge of the medication; how to even pronounce the medication and never get the information correct. The assistance are totally untrained and even incapable of an ordinary conversation. It is the most poorly managed Walgreen's I have ever been to over the past 20 years. It happens to be close to my home but I am certainly going to consider using another pharmacy rather than experience frustration every time I need a prescription filled. I was sick 102 fever strep throat thought I was going to die and the guy behind the counter said that I have to wait a half an hour and or would take him a long time to get my antibiotics he suggested I come back. totally up for it I just got back from the doctor once I would get home I would cliMB into bed and hibernate until the antibiotics kicked in it was ridiculous suggestion but of course he's never been sick before and have no idea how bad you can feel when you're sick. it's sad that they have people with no compassion working in a pharmacy were all you're dealing with a sick people. the pathetic thing is I keep on going back. I am outraged that this particular Walgreen's refuses to schedule my 2nd vaccine appointment. Typically, a second date is automatically generated but I and 9 others were the unfortunate few that did not receive a second appointment. After my first shot, I was told that a pharmacist would contact me and make me an appointment. A couple of weeks before my second shot was due, I called and spoke with the pharmacist manager, Miriam, she told me to look on the website, which is fruitless. Then she asked me to call her in a week's time, which I did. I spoke with another pharmacist that assured me she would call me the next day, surprise no call. I called this evening and spoke with Victor, who asked me "Why should you jump to the head of the waiting list?" There should be no waiting list for those who need a second vaccine. I asked why are we being punished for Walgreen's website glitch, and he told me that they were doing me a favor. I will make sure that Mayor Lightfoot hears about this! And NBC!! I think nightly news should hear about this fabulous service that Walgreens is doing with distributing the vaccine. read more

My prescriptions are never ready when they say that they are, if I call to speak to a pharmacist they never answer the phone and keep me on hold forever, staff is unknowledgable and unhelpful, and they can never seem to get my prescriptions right. Like any other Walgreens. Store has anything you would find at a typical convenience store. The pharmacy is quite good in the few experiences I've had there, knowledgeable staff staff and good pick up times. They have good sales and the store Nice brand foods is actually quite tasty and cheaper than brand name foods. I frequently use the photo department and the self service computer and online apps for the phone is very convenient. Only problem is that there is not always someone working at the photo counter and if you are going to pick up photos you sometimes have to wait a while for someone to come help which is a bit inconvenient. Aside from that no complaints, I come here very often. read more

I went to Walgreens in Lincolnwood to purchase blister patches. I bought two packages at a different location and wanted to see if this location had more of them. I was looking at their stock and pulled out the ones I bought before to see if they were the same. They didn't have the ones I wanted so I put mine back in my bag. An overweight young man who was stocking the shelves "demanded" to know what I was stealing. I took out the packages and my bill from my Walgreens bag. He seemed displeased that he didn't catch me "in the act" of stealing. He didn't apologize or say it looked liked you were putting something in your bag from our store. I thought he had an attitude and was very rude. From now on I will go to CVS to buy my prescription drugs or anything else I need. Their staff needs to learn some manners. read more

When the pharmacy tells you they will call you back after they talk to your doctor or they will call you back after they order your medicine and it comes in, don't believe it. I usually have to initiate numerous calls to actually get a prescription filled. There doesn't seem to be a system in place there to ensure that they follow up. CVS was way better. I am sorry my insurer doesn't include CVS in my plan any longer. read more

I've officially broken up with this pharmacy. After being terribly sick for weeks, I finally got a prescription from my doctor and went to pick it up at this Walgreens. The wait was ridiculous. Finally, they texted me that my prescription was ready and I got back in line to pay. Once at the counter, they would not let me pay for my throat drops, spray, and Sudafed. Instead they were "too busy" and wanted me to get in line again at the front of the store. I understand if I had a whole basket of items but I only had a few things and had already been waiting quite a bit. Fast forward a week and after being hospitalized, another prescription was electronically sent in from the hospital. We stopped to pick up the prescription on the way home and they said they had never received anything. We went home called doctor and the prescription had been in fact put in. The doctor then called the prescription in personally, but once again when I went to pick it up, they have no record of it. I checked the phone number, address, all details, etc and couldnt understand how they did not have it TWO different times. FInally the guy was like, "Well, maybe it's on our pharamacist's voicemail, but we're too busy to check right now, so we'll call you back later." I still havent heard back from them. Pharmacy manager ii incompetent. I live in a retirement home and my prescriptions are supposed to be delivered . On December 31 the doctor called one in. I was promised that it would come that day. By 3;00 no delivery.I called and the manager told me she forgot to give it to the driver. i would not get it for 3 days. When the doctor prescribes a medicine he wants the patient To have it that day. They don`t care. read more

This is a great store with good employees. I hate when people write reviews because they are crabby and critical and have an axe to grind. The pharmacy is always very busy here. You need to know that and have some patience! Everyone expects special attention and wants results when it's there turn. But you need to wait and let others get there satisfaction too!!
