I used to come to this Walgreens fairly regularly back when I had friends who lived near it. I recently visited this Walgreens for the first time in a long time. This is a pretty typical Walgreens- they carry all of the usual Walgreens stuff. The staff at this location was pretty friendly when I dropped in and helped me find what I was looking for. I happened to be looking for a certain kind of vitamin for joint pain (not for me, btw) and the pharmacist pointed me in the right direction right away. Also, on the day I was here, they were having a pretty nice little sale on some makeup products, so I stocked up. The store and the pharmacy here are both open 24/7, so make note of that if you are in need in the late night/early morning hours. read more

Horrible customer service. Communication is non-existent. When you do get the chance to speak with someone they are extremely rude and will put the call on hold as punishment. I had changed my prescription to go to Walmart previously due to their behavior. I was going to try them again because Walmart does close at certain times but it's not worth it. Do not send your prescriptions here. They only want to do the bare minimum as far as assisting customer who have legitimate questions or is in need of some assistance. read more

Do not go to this store. Go out of your way to avoid it. Drive thru has 2 lanes, but they only use one. However, the one lane is normally closed so you can't use the drive thru and have to go inside. The wait is unreal, lines are long, technicians are slow. They routinely do not have medicine that is widely used and distributed throughout the world...I literally can't say enough bad things about this location. Run. Run far away from here. read more

I just left this Walgreens I walked in with my boyfriend. To get some medicine and use the atm NOT THE RESTROOM. They told my boyfriend if "she can't read or something the bathroom says out of order" first I wasnt in there to use the bathroom and making the comment of not being able to read is very inappropriate and extremely insulting. Like are you kidding me. My boyfriend knows me so well. And he told me let's go I was so confused until he told me they said" she can't read or something" because I wouldn't be able to control what came out of my mouth wow I feel very insulted and these ladies should be ashamed to speak so disgusting to another woman like that I hope this review gets read and something is done because I've never been so insulted in My life . read more

The lady at the pharmacy said my child's birth date was wrong in the insurance system and when I told her 70 dollars was too much and nicely was away she started her and another one of the Walgreens pharmacy workers started talking bad about me how she was just trying and I was being annoying. Placed an order on the app to be delivered to my house. The order was placed at 2:30pm and was to be delivered the same day. The estimated time of arrival was 4, and then was changed to 5pm. After 5pm I called general customer service, he was polite and let me know that sometimes they get behind but that they had received my order. He advised me to give it another hour and then to call the store. Well I did that when the order never came est. delivery time still saying 5pm when it's now past 7pm. The associate did not sound friendly, but rather annoyed and frustrated. She said that it was processed and that doordash has to pick it up and the store can't do anything about doordash. Then she hung up (I was on hold for 20mins before I was even able to get ahold of someone) it's the next day and still no text email update, nothing. I called the store, was on hold for 40mins, someone picked up and then hung up when I said hello. Called again and have been on hold for 12mins. I guess ima drive 40mins to their store to see wtf is going on. I like Walgreens, but this store, is not run like Walgreens so many problems for something so fricken simple. Omg. DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT use this pharmacy. We have on several occasions received short perscriptions (less pills than were marked on bottle), received wrong medications that if we had taken would have caused death, lost perscriptions (dr had to call in same perscription multiple times because "they couldn't find it". Now they close the pharmacy for remodel with NO NOTICE. This means if you have a perscription for and controlled medication, you are out of luck becausecm this cannot be transferred to another pharmacy. You have to contact your dr and have them reissue the perscription to another pharmacy. Dont even think about calling them they will lie to you , be rude and tell you its not their problem and promptly hang up the phone. If this does not convince you to stop using this walgreens. I wish you all the luck ine world with your medications. read more

Awful. Takes 45 min to an hr to get through to a person in the pharmacy. Pharmacy techs will hang up you if you ask to speak directly to the pharmacist. Have found the pharmacy techs to be consistently rude over multiple years of filling prescriptions at this location. If insurance didn't force use of Walgreens, would never step foot in this location again. Additionally, I have never been to this location when there weren't panhandlers asking for money as you walk out. read more

The pharmacy has got to be the worst in the area. I have been called to pickup medication, only to get there and they have no idea what I'm talking about. The fill half the prescriptions my doctor orders but not the other half. I have asked them to fill the other medications and have them agreed to do so. I return the next day and they can't find the prescriptions. I find it hard to trust them. read more

I can usually get in here, get what I need and get out in under 5 minutes. I stop by here on my way home to stop me from having to get off the interstate. There is nothing spectacular about the service at this location, but the blank bored faces are just what I need when I'm in a rush to get our of the door. I rarely ever write reviews, but this felt worth it. If I could give zero stars to the pharmacy I would. Pharmacist in his late 40s maybe 50s, white, was working at 6am this morning. He not only told me it would be 45min to wait on my prescription (I thought Walgreens prioritized individuals willing to wait in person?), but then had the audacity to disclose his unsolicited judgy opinion on the prescription I was trying to have filled. Pretty sure that's not your job, buddy. It's between me and my doctor. You just put the pills in the container and mind your business unless asked. End rant. read more

Worst f*cking pharmacy ever! It's been 6 days and they still haven't filled my prescription! If I could give a ZERO I would.

I am being deployed for 3 months next week. I went to have my prescription filled early. They told me I couldn't since it was early. I than went to my dr and got a new prescription to be filled for my deployment. I went back to my Walgreens and they told me it was the same pill and they couldn't fill it unless I paid the cash price. I informed them I have insurance and this was a new script because I couldn't get the the old one filled in time before i left for deployment. I asked for my script back and they didn't want to give it to me because they were going to file it behind my old one. I said no your not because I need this medication. I've always used Walgreens for my prescriptions but now I am going to move them to a different pharmacy since this is how military being deployed is treated. read more

Waiting is the keyword with this place. Last night was the final straw, I went in for a prescription, after waiting in line for about 10 minutes, was told it would take about 45 minutes to fill my prescription. I had just come from the dentist, and the prescription was for a bottle of peridex. When I asked why, the clerk told me they fill a 1,000 prescriptions a day. As if I care. I walked over to Carr drugs up the street, across General DeGualle, and was in and out in 15 minutes. And it only took that long because they had to call my prescription plan to verify my plan being a first time customer. No more Walgreens! I refuse to wait on the phone for 20 minutes, only to be hung up on. That's happened to me multiple times. I refuse to wait for an hour, even though I called ahead and was assured my prescription would be ready when I got there. Yes they're busy. Yes they fill a lot of prescriptions. But they're chronically understaffed. Having diabetes, I used to do hundred's of dollars of business with them. Not any more. And no more rude clerks (I have to say, the pharmacists are nice and very professional if you happen to deal with them). It's insane. If you like to wait ... in line to be waited on, for your prescription, on the phone, then this is your place! read more

Gets four stars for being open 24/7, clean, and has a friendly staff. Ever been on your own, sick, and not really felt up to driving but knew that you HAD to get something to relieve all your sinus pressure or you'd be more exhausted and thus more sick the next day? I HAVE! Walgreen's has saved me on more than one occasion. I also come here to get Pedialyte for the boyfriend when he gets headaches (it's for kids, but it's heavy on electrolytes and lower on sugar than Gatorade and thus better at relieving headaches caused by dehydration). The pharmacists are extremely helpful. Tell them your symptoms and your budget, and they will offer you suggestions. They do push the wal-brand, but if you're not a generic freak then you're probably fine using those! There's occasionally a line, but the employees are pretty good about getting another register open. I love that Wal-green's sells "As Seen on TV" products that I have to convince myself live without. There's refrigerated beer and a wine aisle at this location. read more

I have no complaint with the staff, who are usually civil and even friendly/courteous. My problem is refilling prescriptions online. I'll submit a request to refill 2 - 3 medications and receive a confirmation via the web page or app and via email. When I check the status a day or so later one of the meds isn't listed and I have to submit the request again. Sometimes the status will be "awaiting doctor's approval" if there were no more refills on record ... then the prescription disappears and I submit another request. This week I was about to call my doctor to ask for a refill to be sent to Walgreens when an email stating the prescription was ready popped into my mailbox. read more

It's a decent Walgreens but management really needs to do something about the constant barrage of pan handlers from Degaulle that make a beeline to you right when you get out of your car, asking for money. If I could give the pharmacy at this location a negative, I would. My mother had surgery on her achilles tendon and we dropped of her meds on the way home. We asked the woman if I could pick them up and she said yes. We went home and after several hours of not hearing from the pharmacy, my mother called to get a status on the prescription. She was told it was not ready. After 45 min she called again, and was told that some of it was ready but the rest was not. She called again, at this point 4 hours after her surgery and her nerve block was wearing off - the doctor had told us not to let this happen, because she would be in excruciating pain. When the woman answered the phone, she stated that "someone" had been calling and asking about the prescription and the she needed to verify that it was my mom, therefore, she needed to come into the store to pick up the prescription. My mom explained to the woman that it WAS her that she was on medication, and that she could not come into the store - she had just had surgery on her foot. The woman insisted that she come into the store and she could not go through the drive-thru. So I had to get my mother dressed, AFTER A SURGERY, AFTER THE NERVE BLOCK HAD WORN OFF, to go into the store. When we arrived, the woman stated that it "did not sound like my mom on the phone". My mom was livid. SINCE WHEN DOES THIS WOMAN KNOW WHAT THE HELL MY MOM SOUNDS LIKE? WE DON'T KNOW HER! After confirming her identity via her drivers license, she gave us the medication. This is was totally unacceptable. After all of this, my mother was in extreme pain for DAYS!!!! I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT INTO THIS STORE AGAIN! read more

This is a great local Pharmacy to have,store is kept clean and well stocked. The Pharmacy is well staffed and opened 24 hours and has security guard overnight for customers safety. I think there are only 3 locations on the Westbank that are open 24 hours,the one in Terrytown,and off the Westbank expressway near Huey P Long read more

I decided to write a review about this Walgreens on Holiday and General DeGaulle after two years of using the pharmacy and making purchases there. The pharmacy has some deep internal problems that make service inefficient and potentially dangerous to patients. Secondly, if you somehow get verbally abused by a customer in that store none of the staff will work to de-escalate the situation. They prefer not to get involved. Not even the manager of the store will intervene. Thirdly, there are often people hanging out in front of the store asking for money when customers enter or leave. Management should hire security for that store especially considering that they are open 24 hours. I have made the decision to stop patronizing that particular store even though it is very close to where I live. I do not have to pay my money and then experience the inevitable stressful situations that arise because of the pharmacy staff's and general staff's inefficiency and policy of indifference when potentially dangerous situations come up at this store. read more

They have misplaced or claimed to not receive prescription orders at least five times when every time I have placed the orders via the automated system and followed up with a phone call in the following days to check the status. I've used them for years and am going to take my business elsewhere immediately. read more

To be blunt, the cashier was rude as hell. I don't have any idea what her problem was, but she needed to leave it at the door before she clocked in. From rolling her eyes at customers, announcing with an attitude that a cashier was in Photo, smacking her lips, and grunting; she did not need to be on the register at that time. When it was my turn to get checked out; I didn't get a greeting. I asked her about the toilet tissue that I was buying, because the sales price didn't ring up. When she told me that I had to put my number in in order to get it on sale, I quickly remembered myself that she was correct. No problem, right? Well, she tells another customer in a disgusted voice, "This gonna be a long day." Ma'am, I just asked you a simple question. How ignorant of me to have asked you such a stressful question on your damn job. I come to this Walgreens often, because it's closer to my house. Most of the time, the cashiers are bland and seem to just not be in a good mood most of the time. But this one I've dealt with today? Baby, she took the cake, and I'll just start going to another Walgreens location in hopes of better customer service. read more

Horrible service!! Dropped off medication and told come back in 1 hour. Came back in almost 2 hours and they had not even worked on it. They said they didn't know MD name. When asked why didn't they just call me, was told no answer. Then filled prescription wrong!! Do not waste your time. New manager has no idea what she is doing. They need old manager back. read more
