Clearly, by the fact that I gave it two stars, I'm not a fan of this Walgreens. That said, I come here pretty often. I live in the Lower Garden District so when I need cigarettes, Red Bull, cat food, toilet paper, Sharpie markers, or any other variety of drug store wares, I can walk here. That's one star right there. Being open 24/7 gets you a pretty solid second. However, standing in line at this Walgreens is reminiscent of being at the DMV. For example, I've been standing here, in line, at this Walgreens, long enough to become bored enough, think up, and write this much of a review. What the Hell is going on up there at the register?! There are two cashiers! Let's move this thing along! Also, why is it that Rite Aid can sell alcohol but Walgreens doesn't? We're on St. Charles Street in New Orleans. I can get an Old Fashioned at a laundromat in this neighborhood but can't get a sixer of Buds from a drug store? There are 75 varieties of ribbed condoms but a single pinot grigio is out of the question? Put some pep in your check out clerks, replace your garbage pre-made sandwiches with something that can get me drunk, and run off the homeless oogles asking me for 60¢ (why is it always 60¢?!) and this would be a great place to have to visit once or twice a day. read more

God bless them for being 24 hours - saved me from serious illness not once but twice by being open at 11 pm and 4 am. Always have fun seasonal items (ie Mardi Gras decor, beach chairs, etc). There tends to not be a line, and the cashiers are pleasant. read more

Could I give zero stars? The lady at the register was eating while patrons were trying to check out and to add to that the second I go up to pay she spits out some of the food she was eating on me with no apology and she clearly saw it. Her shirt was just covered in stains and the smell was that of someone who had not cleaned their clothes for a long time. BY FAR the worst Walgreens experience I have ever had! read more

This pharmacy is the most incompetent group of people I've ever had to deal with in the medical field. The only reason I go there is because there's a drive through. I've been here numerous times and they've told me they don't have my script, oddly enough after a usually 10-15 minutes it miraculously gets found. I feel safer with the competency of a Walmart greeter then the individuals working here. read more

This is location need to get a handle on the homeless situation. They are consistently outside soliciting and it's very annoying. I pulled up to this location the other day and as I exited my vehicle and walked to the door there was a homeless guy urinating in front of the store. This has been an ongoing issue for as long as I can remember, and the odor that you encounter as you walk to the front door is very foul. Awful. The cashiers were kind, but the management...SMH. My daughter and her friends bought a bottled Frappuccino drink (the Starbucks ones in the glass bottles). They didn't think to check the expiration. My daughter was very thirsty and gulped it down, then she realized it tasted funny. She looked at the date, it said AUGUST 2017!!!!! OK, It's June 2018. Why is there anything in that fridge this old? When we went back into the store, the manager was on a call, and looked at us as if we were intruding on his life. He lackadaisically took care of us. Almost to the point of disbelief. As if we printed the expiration date on the bottles ourselves. He had the worker check the rest of the Frappuccino drinks and sure enough they all said AUGUST 2017. He refunded our money, but no apologies, no embarrassment, nothing. Just the attitude of us having the audacity to intrude on his day. This was by our hostel so we had several opportunities to visit this drugstore. This was the only bad experience we had in that store. But it warrants 2 stars, because of all the people in this store, the manager should be more receptive. read more

they get 3 stars automatically just for being 24 hours. they get 4 stars because they had my medication (it's not very common medicine) IN STOCK, while 4 other walgreens locations had to order it. errr, nah. SO. this walgreens to the rescue. i will have to do an update after i have actually been to pick up my medicine. but pre pick-up, i am very excited. ooh, and they have the walgreens savings card, which saves you money on your meds! i have refilled 1prescription and it has already saved me $168.00. The folks behind the counters are always so nice to me, and when they get backed up they are always pulling people to the photo counter or cosmetics to check out. Some people just have to stand there and suffer, though, because they need their tobacco. Another reason not to smoke! The only reason I took off the star is for the guantlet of beggars you have to run just to get inside the store. Sometimes as many as 4 at a time! read more

I like this Walgreens! It's located right on Saint Charles Avenue, and it always has what I need! I frequent here often, and each time, it's easy to find what I need. When I go for little things like something to drink after a work out, I make a b-line straight to the refrigerated drinks section, and I have my choice of water, gatorade, power aid, or other more fancy beverages. I've come for things like passport photos, and haven't had complaints about their photo center. They let me see the picture and get an "OK" before printing it out, which is nice, and they let me check out there, so I avoid the lines in the front. They have a great pet section, where you can get food, kitty litter, toys, or other random essentials fairly conveniently. They sell cookies and candy, which is always a plus, and their card section is booming with expressions of love! Yes, there's a local panhandling scheme outside almost every day, but hey... the panhandlers must love this Walgreens too! read more

Its 4am on a Saturday and I'm on my way to work. I need cash, string cheese, a Hubigs, a couple of 5hr energy drinks, and a belated birthday card. Thank you Walgreen's for being there to meet these needs! Its 2am and I'm be driven back home from a night out. I need vodka, a Hubigs (yes I realize I need these quite often), and some toothpaste. Walgreen's to the rescue again! All this in one complete package that includes in-store entertainment if you drop by the hours of, well actually it could be any time of day. It's a Walgreen's for Pete's sake! Did you really need to read a review about Walgreen's? Well yes you did, because you needed to know that this one allows you to get cash back from your debit card and carries both booze and streetcar passes. They sell out of streetcar passes often though due to the hotels in the immediate area so don't bank on them having any. Also a tip from a frequent visitor to this location, use the back driveway to leave onto Felicity to ease your traffic woes. Of course at 4am, it's pretty smooth sailing. read more

Yeah for 24/7 Walgreens. I love just knowing this is open whenever for whatever. And the scenery is great too. Whether its the overweight, pistol-packin' rent a cop or homeless dudes or maybe even the occasional escort! Whateves! You have to love a well-lit haven for the masses where in one go you can pick up a Whiffle ball bat (w/Whiffle ball), gallon of Blue Bell, a "Fun Flask" (aren't all flasks fun?), and a copy of today's paper. And I'm not even trying. There're Krispy Kreme donuts on hand, greeting cards, condoms - whatever you need. Heck, today while grabbing some last minute Valnetine's with my 9 year old I ran into the boss that fired me 5 years ago. On that note, we might even suspect this Walgreens to be a vortex to the universe where anything can happen and old wounds can be re-opened. Final note, I've even witnessed a Fight Club type fighting circle in the back parking lot once refereed by the rent-a-cop in the wee small hours. The only reason this gets 1 star is the pharmacy is open 24 hours and it's walking distance to my house. Otherwise, by far the worst run pharmacy I have ever experienced. Pharmacy staff have attitudes and each one tells you something different. Latest example: brought prescription in after work around 8 pm. Asked if I could leave it and pick it up in the morning. Pharmacy staff: "you can't leave this over night it is a controlled substance." (Just had surgery and needed pain meds.) ok fine, I will get it filled before work tomorrow at 9 am. Come to get it filled and am told by a different person "you can't fill this now, you can only get it after 11 am today." Asked why, she said "you can only drop this off." I am in the medical field and thoroughly understand controlled substance laws, only thing at play here was laziness or incompetence. Only got it filled after waiting 40!!! Minutes!!! and asking to speak to a manager. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

This pharmacy is atrocious! I will never go here again. They are definitely overwhelmed. Customer service is horrible: rude, inept and indifferent. Went to fill my sons prescriptions. Gave the pharm tech all his insurance information and asked her how much it would be. I was told with complete disregard to my question that it would be 'ready in two hours'. When I repeated myself, she told me the pharmacist would have to punch it in and they didn't have time for that. Later I received a call that the medication was ready for pick up. When I arrived one of the medications had not been filled. I asked why I was notified if all the medications had not been filled? I got a shrug as a response. As I was paying for the meds that HAD been filled, they informed me that the total was over $200. When I asked if the total was after the insurance, I was told that the insurance card had expired and I would need an updated card. I told them there were two insurance companies and asked if they ran the other insurance. Of course they had not. Twenty minutes later, I left with medication in hand ( minus one). If you like being treated like shit by apathetic people this is the pharmacy for you. As for me, I am definitely going elsewhere. read more

Great location. OK selection. Almost never have sale or clearance tags up. Manager needs to keep back stock on hand of the frozen items, which seem to never be in stock (Nice Brand). They have friendly employees, almost everyone except one lady overnight. But never the less that won't deter me from going there. read more
