Their prices are comparable to all other pharmacy chains. The value is outstanding. I highly recommend the Westport Apothecary. It's a real gem in a world where the remaining pharmacies have become retail chains with personalized services that evaporated when the giant conglomerates bought up all the independent pharmacies.

Purchased the wrong topical that doesn't work for me and didn't see that until I was home. The pharmacy refused to allow me to return the unopened product and refused to give me a credit towards my purchase of the correct topical agent. If their pricing wasn't so much better than standard pharmacies I would never use them again. I'm sure the pharmacist had good intentions, but the lack of proper communication with the patient is inexcusable. Overall disappointing experience.

I had a very bad experience tonight at CVS on 1145 Kempton St. In New Bedford. I went in to do a…read moresimple exchange of color on an item I purchased a day ago. I was told they don't exchange, I would have to get a refund and repurchase the item. I said ok. I went and picked out the item, went to the register and a young lady rang up the item. I gave her the gift card she had just given me and said you have to pay 87 cents tax. I said I already paid the 87 cents when I purchased the one I am exchanging, I am not paying tax twice. Why didn't you refund the tax I had already paid? She said we don't refund the tax, I said I am not paying double tax. I said call the manager. The manager came up and was totally useless. I explained everything thing and she did nothing. I said just give me my item I was exchanging back. The manager said no I am not giving it back to you, she picked up my returned item that was behind her, I thought she was going to throw it at me, but she threw my item hard towards the door in the cashier area. This woman Felicia Pacheco (that she said is her name, and she is the manager) was extremely unprofessional and very aggressive with me a senior citizen. I was so afraid she was going to attack me so I called the police for assistance with this unprofessional, unruly manager. This woman does not belong working in the public, she is definitely not manager material. The police officer offered to pay the 87 cents tax for me, but I said no he doesn't or shouldn't have to do that. I made an even exchange and I already paid the tax on the item I returned. I left the store, but when I got out side it hit me that the gift card was used to purchase the exchange and would have a zero balance. I went back in the store to have this manager check the balance on the card and she started playing on her phone and didn't get the balance. I think she may have saw it had a zero balance and then called the police back saying she wanted me out of the store. The police come back and tell me to leave because the manager don't want me there. Sure enough I get home call the number on the back of the card and the card has a zero balance. So this manger has stolen my $13.99 dollars. I then called the New Bedford police back to make a report of larceny and they said you can go to CVS tomorrow and speak with the day manager who can hopefully solve this. I have never in my 68 1/2 years been treated so badly in a store as I was tonight. This is far from over, I will not stop pursuing this until I get my stolen money back...

They do everything in their power to inconvenience you -- first they took away the ability to speak with the pharmacist on the phone about a year ago. Just recently they added this self scan at the pharmacist, so you get to stand there awkwardly as you put in your info when you used to be able to just tell them. Why even have people working there at all? How hard would it be to add some automation. How is there not a way for people to take lunch shifts instead of the whole thing shutting down in the middle of the day. I hope CVS goes out of business, I hope the employees find a better employer. All the cost saving measures CVS has put in to pad the shareholders bottom dollar at the expense of people's health -- they should be ashamed.

Waiting for the refill, watched the clerks lie to 5 other customers. For whatever reason, this store is in a world of hurt. But why go to a pharmacy that lies to you. Also if you are disabled and use the drive-through, they only do refills in one lane and the machine is broken at least half the time. Whoever is in charge of this store seems to have lost control, probably not safe to use.

We were immediately struck by the more personal service we received here compared to the larger pharmacy chains and also the ability to be in and out quickly because the prescriptions were ready and there was never a mob of people waiting. The only somewhat negative thing preventing a five-star rating is that some prescriptions, such as meds for a child's ear infection, are not kept in stock and cannot be immediately filled after a child's sick visit with the doctor. It is available in the next day or two.

I have been on a numerous amount of medications my whole life due to epilepsy. Nothing has compared to Walgreens on Purchase St. They answer their phones, are pleasant to speak to and they are extremely efficient. I am now one year seizure free and I can honestly say that I owe it to Odilia and her staff at Walgreens on Purchase St. They put my needs first and make sure I always have my medication in on time (even when they are specialty medication). I can (figuratively) breathe now and I no longer have the stress every month of worrying if I will have my meds on time. It truly has been the biggest relief and in my case, a lifesaver.

A relatively new service offered by Wal-Mart where you place your order online, drive to the store, and within minutes an associate loads your order in your vehicle. As if this isn't incentive enough, Wal-Mart provides this service for NO CHARGE! You are not even allowed to tip the associate who loads the bags in your car. All specials apply to your online order and if they are out of the item you want they replace it with a bigger or better item! If you don't like the item they gave you for a replacement, or you don't like the ripeness of your bananas, you have a cracked egg, or any other issue, you will receive a credit for said item. We have used this service in both Swansea as well as Dartmouth (as I refuse to go to Fall River). Although both places are good, Dartmouth offers better pickup times, often the same day you order. Dartmouth also provides you with better quality grocery bags. I can't believe that I am writing a five star review for Wal-Mart, but this is seriously an amazing service and Dartmouth has it down to an art!
