To me, Walgreens is a necessary evil. I like it much better than the other big drug store chains, and there are no independent drug stores left in our area. So, if I need a prescription right away (and can't be mail ordered), I go to Walgreens. They do have a large selection of convenience items, toiletries, and even liquors. However, their prices are on the higher side. If I do have to pick something up at Walgreens, having such a wide variety of other items is just convenient. What is problematic is their staffing, particularly in their pharmacy. There is always a wait, whether you use their drive through or pick it up in the store. I feel badly for their pharmacists and Walgreens should consider adding staff to stores where there are long waits. read more

Terrible experience at the pharmacy! I had an appointment for a flu shot and a Covid booster and I waited at the desk for several minutes many pharmacist and techs walked right past me did not say a word. I then asked if I was in the right spot to check in and they said yes and walked away. Finally a young girl came who is very lethargic and seemed annoyed to even talk to me about my appointment. she looked me up asked a few questions and walked away. I stood there for a few more minutes and a pharmacy tech called out the person behind me to check him in at someone else and they all still ignored me. Absolutely awful it takes two seconds to say I'll be right with you thank you for waiting. I decided to leave and cancel my appointment as I wasn't really sure to trust a pharmacist to give me the right shot after all the confusion. read more

Scheduled Covid booster , showed up 10 min early. They told me to wait and I would be called. They did not call and I came to desk after waiting 20 min. Said I had to fill out paperwork. This time I stood right in front of registers so they couldn't ignore me. After another 30 min I said something and tech came out right away. Why keep us waiting? More than once my family and I have had terrible experiences with the pharmacy area. It's not the pharmacists themselves but more so the employees that provide vaccines and covid tests. The wait times are crazy long (more than 1-2hours of waiting) *with* appointments, and on top of that, the employees give dirty looks and attitude that they have to do something like perform a Covid test. I'm not sure how this person is still employed or why Walgreens is deciding to keep her but it's very unprofessional and just plain rude. Our first morning on vacation, we decided to make a grocery run. (Or I guess more of a beverage run.) I drink a lot of water and the roommate needs his red bull. We stopped by this Walgreens on Sunday, December 3rd around 10:30am. *Red Bull Energy Drink: 4 Pack, 8.4 oz Cans ($5.99) x2 *Red Bull Sugarfree, Energy Drink: 4pk, 8.4 oz Cans ($5.99) *Aquafina Purified Drinking Water: 24 count, 16.9 fl oz bottles ($5.99) Luckily the red bulls were on sale as they were originally $7.99 for each 4 pack, so we saved $2 each. We never did finish all the water over our four day vacation, so maybe we could have bought a 12 pack instead. Good to keep in mind for another vacation. This Walgreens is pretty average. I go to a bunch at home in San Francisco as they seem to have one on every corner. This location isn't a fancy one with frozen yogurt, packed fresh fruit, etc. But it seems to be the normal suburb type Walgreens with the standard offerings: beauty, health, beverages, snacks, etc. Convenient as this was down the street from where we were staying. read more

The Walgreens vaccination program is a joke. You are required to make an appointment but your local Walgreens is not required to honor the appointment time. Instead you sit for an hour or more while the pharmacists fill prescriptions. That's not their fault. Walgreens should have designated people who just handle their vaccination program. UPDATE: The saga continues. I signed up for COVID booster and Flu. They had no record of my flu appointment. Thankfully I had a copy of my appointment confirmation. read more

My wife scheduled the second Shingles shot over two months ago. We came in and waited 45 minutes to get the shot. Same thing happened with her first shot. They clearly don't understand the concept of appointments and appear to not care about their customers at all. read more

Extremely slow pharmacy and drive-thru. Not sure what the deal is with this location. I just switched over to this pharmacy because I thought it would be much more convenient. Not convenient. The longest drive-thru pharmacy. They said they had no prescriptions for me and after making me wait at the window for over 5 minutes another pharmacist came and seemed forced to have to deal with me. Looked me up and said it's because they need my insurance card and need 20 minutes to verify. Okay?? I left and grabbed a bite to eat and still had to wait in the longest and slowest drive thru lane for pickup the 2nd time around. read more

Walgreen offers digital coupons for reward, but when I told the person there at drive through window today if I can use it (3/21/23, 2.25 pm), she said "It already went through!, I did not see it". This Walgreen's is horrible. I always get a text saying my Rx is delayed. And the app might show it delayed for days, when it is actually sitting there ready. My current prescription was still delayed today. First it said Problem with insurance. Then it said Waiting for Prescriber approval. I called and asked how can you need prescriber approval when my prescriber is the one who prescribed it in the first place. They were trying to put through a 90 day supply. It's a new Rx. I don't even know if it will work for me. Why would I want 90 days? After I explained that, they said it would be ready shortly. But why would they do that? The Rx is for 30 days. No one asked for 90 days. They pulled that with my previous Rx also. I'm moving to CVS. I hope they are better. Oh, also, their recording is the most obnoxious recording ever. One good reason for changing to CVS is so I will never have to hear about the pharmacist's meal break again. read more

I would say the one word to describe this pharmacy is- miserable. The Walgreens's software is going crazy and asks me to refill meds every week . When I try to call the pharmacy I am put on hold 20 to 30 minutes and then the call gets disconnected or I'm told the pharmacist is " out to lunch on a meal break" call back in a half hour ( after being on hold a half hour) The lines inside the store and the drive through are long and slow. If doing Covid tests and Covid boosters creates the need for more techs or pharmacist s perhaps Walgreens's should hire adequate staff. Getting necessary and not inexpensive medicine just shouldn't be this miserable. read more

I went to store to pick up my package and the crabby guy in photo says there's nothing there. His attitude was horrible. He felt like he came out of his way to help. They never include my full prescription pamphlet and I always need to ask for them to add it. Then, they say they didn't receive them from the pharmacy which is ridiculous. It's important for my prescription to have the full information; very concerning. read more

Extremely disappointed in the attitude of the staff. I bought Claritin which required someone to unlock the safety casing. When I asked at the prescription counter for assistance, I was told to ring the bell for help. I never did find the bell. A man from another part of the store did come and unlock the casing. Paid for my items and went home only to discover the tablets were four months out of code and were cracked up and powdery when we opened one. Went back to the store. Was told to go to the camera counter for a refund from the manager. The manager said, no, go to the regular counter. Went back to the regular counter. Followed the manager back to the locked case so I could check the expiration date on a replacement package. Other out of code product on the shelf. Found a current package as the manager wandered away. Three people involved in these interactions...no one even indicated any effort to apologize or try to check codes to avoid this happening to others. It took an hour of driving back and forth and dealing with disinterested staff to get a simple transaction done. The store was just about empty so no one was under pressure or distracted by high demand for their attention. Pretty disheartening given the need to trust pharmacies more than ever before. Thinking about pulling all my scripts from this location after tonight. read more

This Walgreen's has been around a couple of years or so and it is kept up quite nicely. I like how easy it is to get in and out - service at the front desk is usually pretty prompt. Pharmacy is in the back corner, a little out of the way. Spoke to one of the pharmacists there once for some assistance - she was really knowledgeable and helpful. read more

The pharmacy here has the worst customer service 95% of the time. I understand they are busy, but they need to remember they are there to serve people who deserve a smile and respect, no matter what. I am not talking about the pharmacist either, I am talking about the staff who actually work in 'customer service', but most of the pharmacist are no walk in the park either. No one wants to have ailments, be sick or spend hard earned money on expensive medication, the least they could do is treat the people at the counter and the drive through like people. I have stood in line and watched the staff condescend and dismiss the elderly, people who don't speak good English and healthy individuals like me for no reason at all. I always leave asking myself, what goes on in their work place that is so terrible? Over worked? Under staffed? Poor leadership? 2 years strong with the same type of service. I gave this Walgreens 2 stars because some of the pharmacy staff is decent (5%), and it is usually clean and well stocked. read more

Worst ever in customer service. Always used this location Walgreens to pick up photos and there is never someone in the photo department,the cashier in front says someone will come to assist but takes 10min or more to get someone over. Tonight another example of waiting and Trey finally came over he didn't apologize and say sorry for waiting not even a hello good evening. Trey might be a Manager but doesn't act like one because he has no people skills and no customer service background. Just overall disappointed. read more

I actually want to give zero star to this pharmacy. I arrived there 20 minutes before they closed. I even called there to make sure they have the medicine in stock. I waited in line for 5mins. I showed my prescription to George. He told me something is not right on the prescription. He told me to go to the Walgreens at Dundee Road because they open 24 hours and his store is closing soon. I begged him to call my doctor to clarify with him because the doctor's office was still open but closing soon. I explained to him that by the time I went to the one at Dundee, my doctor's office would be closed. The Pharmacist there would not be able to talk to my doctor. Then, I had to wait until the next day. My daughter was so sick and needed the medicine as soon as possible. But both George and Emily, the pharmacist refused to call for me. They said they are closing. I decided to call my doctor by myself and told him what was happening. He wanted to talk to the pharmacist. But Emily refused to talk to him with my cellphone, which I understand why. She felt the pressure from the other customers who saw my daughter was sick lying on a chair and waiting for her medicine. With no much choice, Emily was willing to call my doctor and agreed to give me the medicine. I cannot believe this happened in any pharmacy. They think going home on time is more important than their patients. Shame on them. They should not be in the patient care industry at all. read more

The pharmacy staff at this location is always friendly and helpful. The store can get busy at times but I always know they care.

Tried to fill a prescription a couple of months ago, but they only had 5 out of 30 pills. Bought those for $2.+ change. They never called to tell me that the remaining pills were in. When I ran out and went in to get other 25 pills, they wanted to charge me $53.00. Pro-rated it should have been another $12-$14. And I have BCBS insurance. Each year you have to shop around and check prices, or they screw you over. read more
