This Walgreens continues to disappoint. I've never *not* had a frustrating experience here.

Avoid this pharmacy at all costs if you value your safety. I had yet another encounter with an individual who is a massive liability to Walgreens and an active danger to public health. Today crossed the line into illegal, vindictive medical retaliation. A formal complaint has been filed with Walgreens Corporate Risk Management and the State Board of Pharmacy to audit the digital access logs from today, June 16th. The pharmacy technician on duty completely exceeded her scope of practice, falsified medical records, and intentionally disrupted a patient's continuity of care by maliciously locking a profile and denying valid refills out of spite. The Incident: After my boyfriend's daily maintenance medication sat as "pending" for 9 days with zero communication, I went in to check on it. The technician hostilely snapped, "It's your medication, that's not our job." Almost every other pharmacy has automated protocols and courtesy alerts to contact the doctor or patient so people don't suddenly lapse on critical medications. When I pointed out a simple notification would have allowed us to contact his doctor sooner, she refused to help. I informed her that due to this total lack of care, I'd have his physician transfer his prescriptions to a competent pharmacy. The Retaliation: The moment I walked out the door, I checked the Walgreens app. In pure retaliation for taking our business elsewhere, this technician manually changed all of his remaining, valid refills to "DENIED." As a Registered Nurse, I am absolutely appalled. A technician has zero clinical or legal authority to deny a patient's refills. By entering a false clinical denial into the system without authorization, she abused her medical access to punish a patient. When my boyfriend went back inside to angrily confront her about being locked out of his medication, she openly admitted her motive, telling him: "You said you didn't want to shop here anymore." The system timestamps will prove she executed these retaliatory denials before he ever went back to confront her. She weaponized a patient's vital medical profile over a retail grudge, leaving him completely without daily medication. The employee ID attached to today's timestamps will prove exactly who did this. She is a massive liability and needs to be removed immediately. read more

Absolutely ridiculous service. If I could rate them lower I would. Extremely rude pharmacist and employees. They can't seem to do simple tasks and are unable to properly translate to their customers why. I was gaslit after being told I would be able to come receive my refilled prescription claiming that I was not told something when I have witnesses that heard the conversation as well. They are lucky I do not need this prescription to live because I would be dead by now with how terrible their service and delivery is. Not timely or orderly AT ALL. Do better Walgreens. This is a terrible pharmacy, and the pharmacists are incredibly unprofessional. I called and confirmed that they would have my prescription in stock three times and double checked with the pharmacist a multitude of times in order to make sure that my prescription was in stock. I then went ahead and contacted and went through the elaborate process of speaking to my provider and getting my prescription switched to this pharmacy. After an order was placed and they told me it would be filled. They called me back to tell me that they did not have my prescription in Stock. This is an unbelievable oversight in one that cost me hours of time and is quite frankly unbelievable. Do not go to this pharmacy ! read more

I am here at 5:18 on Monday 6/9/25 and the pharmacy is closed? Like WTF? I was in line Saturday in the drive though at 5:55 and reached the window at 6:05 and they told me that they were closed and would help me even though I was in line. Cuz they are slow? Update: I drove to the pharmacy and they were open so I was able to pick up my prescription. The problem seems to be lack of coordination between their online presence and their physical presence. This Walgreens sucks. They never have the prescription done by the time the website says it will be available, they advertise and accept online appointments for services (such as Covid testing) that they cannot provide, and they close without warning. This time, I will not have medicine for a trip I am taking because they are closed without explanation and I am leaving town in a few hours. I advise going somewhere else. read more

I had so many wonderful experiences at this Walgreens during the holidays. They do photo printing and there are SO many great photo gift options. They have canvasses, framed photos, ornaments, etc. I did a lot of photo printing for gifts this year, and their turnaround time is insanely fast especially for just printed photos. I didn't have to wait long for the larger projects I had printed either - everything I ordered took less than a day even in their busy season. I've been ordering photos and photo gifts from here for years. You can order through the app, or connect your phone and order at their location. The quality is great and they always have photo gift deals. Staff has always been fairly friendly here, lines are never long and you don't have to wait long to check out. read more

Only go in for the pharmacy, but the entirety of the staff that I've interacted with have been lovely and helpful, storewide. The reason this is a 2 star review is because they are in DESPERATE need of more employees, especially in the pharmacy, there's often only 1 tech manning both the counter and drive through, during massive rushes, while still managing to do a good job given the situation. Hire more people so you can keep the good employees you have, or eventually they're gonna find a job that treats them better. read more

This is strictly about the pharmacy. Every time I call the pharmacy, I wait on hold for anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 minutes and then get promptly hung up on. Every single time. What a joke. Now if it was just that issue, that would be one thing, but they are also extremely incompetent. Take my most recent experience - I have a prescription for insulin. I came to pick it up, and none of my prescriptions were ready. They said it'd take about an hour and they'd text me when it's ready. I had to tell them all the specifications of my prescription, emphasizing how important it is I get the insulin as soon as possible. I didn't get a text until the next day. The next day I show up and they have my prescriptions - all of them *except* the insulin. They leave me hanging out at the window while they go check if they have some. I'm there for 15 minutes before I have to leave for an appointment so I just had to drive away, no insulin. I call the pharmacy and no answer. I shouldn't have to tell a pharmacy how important an insulin prescription is. I will be switching pharmacies immediately. And I highly recommend not using this place read more

I've been here many times shopping. Even though they have the restrooms locked to keep people from using drugs in there, I've never had a problem getting in to use it. Today I had to relieve myself before I did my shopping so I wasn't doing an awkward dance while shopping. The clerk on duty gave me a judgmental look and told me that the restrooms were closed. No explanation, just closed. Ok fine. I'll do my shopping elsewhere going forward where I'm afforded the basic human dignity. read more

This is the WORST walgreens I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Specifically the pharmacy, which never seems to actually be open? I spoke to the pharmacist yesterday saying I needed to refill my scripts before trip for the holidays. She says insurance won't cover the refill until tomorrow, that's fine i'll come in tomorrow. So today I go in, the pharmacy is boarded up and says temporarily closed??? Okay awesome why did she tell me I could pick them up today then!!!! Apparently the afternoon pharmacist called out sick so they just closed! Well now I can't get my meds before my trip which is just great! Maybe Walgreens as a company should staff appropriately so when one person is sick the entire pharmacy is closed. I keep trying this walgreens because it is NEXT TO my house but holy shit it is not worth the convenience! This is not the first time something like this has happened! They randomly change their hours all the time!!!!! Please figure out how to staff your stores so you can provide the services you are supposed to. or just close the doors to this place permanently. read more

Usually go here for pharmacy services only. I do not have to wait long in the drive through. The pharmacist and technicians are always helpful and knowledgeable. They work hard to make sure your prescription is covered or find a comparable alternative. Definitely recommend these guys!! They go above and beyond. read more

What is going on in this place? I experience legit dread whenever I am faced with this Walgreens as my option. It would be comical were I not trying to access needed supplies and prescriptions. One example: A friend injures his knee and I offer to buy him a brace and crutches to try while he's waiting for medical care. I buy two braces so he can pick the best one. I purchase online, for curbside pickup. I arrive at curbside pickup, follow the instructions to let the store know I'm there for the pickup. I wait. Five minutes turn into ten turn into t w e n t y minutes. I go inside the store and see my items are right there in plain view. I tell the clerk I've been waiting there for t h o s e i t e m s r i g h t t h e r e. They tell me they don't know how to process the order. I say, "It's already been processed -- here's my receipt -- you just give it to me." They call a manager over. Manager doesn't know what to do, either. Finally, they seem to figure it out and...hand my bag to me. You know, the one that was sitting there the entire time. Look, dumbasses, I ordered online with curbside pickup so I wouldn't have to go inside with all the viruses. Friend needs only one of the braces, so I attempt to return the unneeded brace to the store. Manager tells me I need a receipt, so I show him my electronic receipt. He claims it's not a receipt, but, in fact, 'tis the receipt Walgreens sent me when I purchased the items. Manager is downright belligerent. I leave the store, flummoxed, though unsurprised. I return later that day to find the manager still belligerent, but my persistence has paid off, as he finds another manager who actually knows how to do his job. "We're understaffed, and our phones are broken and keep cutting people off" was what I was told when I went into the store after 2 days of being on hold for over 20 minutes both times with nobody EVER picking up. The 2nd day was to confirm they had the new Covid-19 ba.4 & .5 booster. I got someone and asked if they had it and she asked me eligibility questions then put me on hold. Why she didn't say they didn't have any I'll never know. This store is a joke. They should close permanently until they can run it properly and fix their phones. BTW, when I went in I expected it to be very busy...it was not. There was NOBODY there. No line and nobody working at the counter. Still had to wait over 5 minutes to speak with a person to ask a basic question of "do you have the new booster". Just a pathetic failure of competence and caring. read more

For some reason bringing in a defective item along with its receipt minutes after buying it is not good enough for a return? The phone charger I was sold did not work so I came right back in and they wouldn't accept it. The store is usually slow but does not have a very good cold drink selection either. read more

Walgreens downtown SLC on 500 east has been a huge disappointment everytime I go there. I kept going due to convenience and location. The pharmacy never answers to talk to a tech or pharmacist. They pick up just to put you on hold. First time 18 minutes 2nd time 36 minutes. Kent the manager and Jenna the Assistant manager are of no help. When I tried to talk to them both claimed to be walking back to pharmacy and get me someone and Kent assured my RX was cancelled then that afternoon I was still getting automated calls that my RX was ready for pick up. I called and spoke with Jenna and she kept me on hold 23 minutes. Horrible customer service. Dirty store inside and out. I've transferred my RX and will go out of my way to never return read more

I am drafting this review on behalf of AJ, the pharmacy manager at the Walgreens on 21st So and 20th East in Salt Lake City. Kudos to you AJ!! YOU are awesome! My insurance company refused to fill an RX that was ordered by my doctor. They have NO RIGHT to disregard the instructions of my phyician. Due to AJ'S decency and compassion, and with great personal effort, he was able to honor my Dr's wishes and accomodate my desperate need. He is a SAINT!! I would reccommend this pharmacy to any, and everyone! Further, I will make it a personal priority to insure that insurance companies, and their greedy reign of terror will be out of business by the next election. Capitalism would be a viable form of economic structure were it not for the overarching greed and lack of competition in the marketplace. With such a significant marketshare and years of politicians who've been on the insurance lobbys" payroll for decades it may usher in another recession. The time is NOW for these barons of American health care, and sadly all their employees to join the vulnerable, the single, the women, the disabled and others who"ve fallen on hard times (largely thanks to greedy and ignorant bankers, flaky economists and corrupt politicians) so they too may join us in choosing between needed medications, food and rent! Wish I could see them stripped of their tailored Armani suits, all personal dignity and standing in the "soup line" with their innocent and hard working victims. We NEED single payer, socialized medicine if that's what it takes to rectify such corruption! We need those who work less time, lacking or wasting their hidden intellects while making more money than they could possibly spend with assets seized and living in 9X9 cages. This will give them plenty of time to reflect on their narcissistic, malignant self indulgence that has stolen the dignity, money and viable options for far too many people. read more

This place just earned a spot next to the sketch Wal Mart in the category of places I have to try and convince my husband to let me go to alone as long as I have protection in my purse. We decided to come here to fill some RX's two days in a row instead of our usual Wal Mart, and while the prices were great with our insurance, and the location is awesome, I was so put off I can't imagine going back. Bums asked for money each time we went, the second time I got freaked out because the dude actually approached my car door to beg me. Thankfully my husband was with me. The parking lot is littered with trash, and so many people just loitering and passing through its horrible. I assume its traffic from the bus stop right there, but luckily they have a drive through so we didn't have to get out of our car to pick them up. The shift in-charge today must be lazy. They cancelled my pick-up order of about 20 items, worth close to $200. This happened twice already in the past month. Never have I experienced this pick-up cancellation in other Walgreens stores, only in this Sugarhouse location, and I went to the store to check and they have the items that they cancelled. These things are for sure- laziness, ineptness, incompetence. What a waste of my time and effort to arrive at those items in the cart and get cancelled, and my money will be stuck for 5 days. The store manager should investigate this and mete out appropriate actions, otherwise, I will report this to corporate if my pick-up orders gets cancelled still all the time. read more

We called in before to get a refill on a prescription and they said it would be ready at 10pm. I drove 40min to get there then waited for another 30min to talk to someone Only to be told that they did not fill it and it will take another 40min to fill it... Slowest pharmacy ever. Be prepared to wait for at least 15 minutes in the drive through with no movement whatsoever.

This is the Walgreens pharmacy I go to now because it is the closest one to me in Sugarhouse. Before coming here i had read a lot of bad reviews but since switching over to here I haven't had any problems. The pharmacy sometimes can have a long wait so I try to check if there's even one person in the line when I'm going down 2100. I go through the drive through for my prescriptions and everyone working there has always been friendly and helpful. They are open long hours although I don't believe it's open 24/7 it still is open later than the Highland location which is the next closest. read more

Totally unprofessional and rude. I received a phone call saying my prescription was ready and went to pick it up right after. As I approached the counter, the tech was closing the gate to the counter, while simultaneously saying "sorry, we're closed for lunch" and kept lowering the gate. I dropped off a Rx on Tuesday morning and received an email stating the drug was out of stock and they'd be ordering it, and there was a link in the email to assess when the Rx would be in. The prompt stated it would be ready the "next day" so I thought I'd just wait. The next day it wasn't ready so I called and they stated it would be ready the "next day" so on Thursday it still wasn't ready and I was sure if they thought it'd be ready Wednesday and for sure Thursday, then by Friday it must be ready by then. Well, it wasn't and they stated all Walgreens were out. I just didn't believe it so I called the Walgreens on 3300 s and sure enough it was in stock and my Rx was filled. The Walgreens that filled it for me is .8 mi away from the 2100 s Walgreens. It just seems like they have no ability to provide a great customer experience at this particular Walgreens. The large woman in the pharmacy is simply rude and clearly ineffective. read more
