I've stopped here a few times when I've been in the area, most recently with my son who wanted a very specific suit, which he found online. We were able to browse the different varieties in the men's' section, but really needed someone to do his measurements so he could place the custom order. It took a good while for someone to notice us and then also be willing to come talk with us. The lady who did come over was pretty aggressive in her sales pitch-saying that the pricing we saw was going to change after tomorrow, so we'd better hurry and buy. It felt a little icky, and we ended up not buying a suit. I wonder if it's true that in-person shopping is really dwindling. Service seems to have gotten apathetic and the furnishings in the store were abysmal (see the picture of the horribly beat up chair in the men's section.) For the higher-end clothing that this store carries, I'd love to see the rest of the experience elevated to match what customers may expect. read more

I worked at Nordstrom for many years. I feel very fortunate to have done so at the time I did. I credit them for teaching me what excellent customer service means and establishing a good work ethic when I was young. There was an expectation at that time that was really a high bar to reach. But it benefited the customer and in many ways it benefited us as employees. It was a cyclical, self evident, ecosystem where all parties benefited. I was treated well. The customers were treated well and the company made money. It was a great place to visit and people loved it. Although some people would call it expensive I've always considered Nordstrom a value because of the quality and the. Experience. Things have changed! I guess the first and most obvious problem is there just aren't that many great clothes where at one time they were a fashion leader. There was a time when Nordstrom would do whatever a customer asked so long as it was within reason, and even sometimes when it was completely unreasonable. Many times when I wasn't sure what to do. I was reminded that the way I should get a request and determine my actions should be "is it good for the customer?" I loved having that kind of freedom and my clients loved the fact that I had that freedom also. The last two times that I have been at The City Creek store. I have seen employees all over the floor talking on their phones and I've spent more than 30 to 45 minutes without somebody being attentive or even noticing that I was there. Ready to spend money they made it impossible so I just went across the way to Hugo boss and laid down about $3000. Where, by the way, the service was great. In men suits when trying to find a formal shirt for an important event, the gentleman working in the department did not have any shoehorns available. Could not find one and had no idea what a cufflink was. I mean, I could really go on and on about the loss of this great institution, but I guess all good things come to an end. This gorgeous anchor store is located at the City Creek Center. I always stop into Nordy's to see if they have the selection of bras that the Nordstrom's had in San Fran. So far I've been disappointed. This store did carry Elomi and Panache, in larger cup sizes on the floor, but they were the three panel, unconstructed cup style bleh. They had a lot of stylish dresses in a variety of styles and sizes. A nice, well organized store, to be sure. I was going to compliment a fellow shopper on her ripped stockings, but it turns out she works there. Nice to see they have a progressive look on fashion too. read more

I am a fairly frequent Nordstrom shopper, and my best friend is a SUPER frequent Nordy's shopper. Both of us agree this location kind of sucks. The salespeople rarely offer to help, and when they do (or heaven forbid you approach them yourself), they seem quite put out. It is a beautiful store, well decorated, and fun to shop simply because it's so lovely to look at. They have some specialty designer sections like Gucci. Still, it's worth driving a little out of your way to go to the Fashion Place location, which has about 10x better customer service. read more

Located at the City Creek Center, my husband and I stopped by this Nordstrom this afternoon. Nordstrom is currently having a sale in which they are price matching other major competitors. I browsed through the shoe department and the handbag section (my 2 favorite things). I saw a few Burberry handbags that I was eyeing on line, but unfortunately were out of stock on line. An employee working in the handbag section told me that they can easily find any bag items that I am looking for on line in their store or one from another store and have it shipped to my home (foe free). He was really friendly and helpful and also told me that they will always price match because Nordstrom rather sell an item for at a lower cost than to lose the sale. Now I do want to mention that what is unique about this Nordstrom is that there is a Gucci boutique in the handbag (1st floor) and the clothing department (2nd floor, women's). Most Nordstrom locations do not have a Gucci boutique and so I figured it was worth highlighting for those who are interesting in taking a look and shopping at. In the end, I had a wonderful shopping experience (and my wallet being a little lighter) and would come back here again. read more

I love Nordstrom! But this store will make you feel like a burnt piece of dung. 20 minutes I walked around, plenty of eye contact, the store wasn't busy, and not so much as a "can I help you?". I'm not from Utah, so I don't know much about the local behavior, but I had been warned about this location. They were right. I'll never be back to this location, and frankly I'm not sure I'll be back to any. Do yourself a favor, stay away. read more

This Nordstroms is far better than the one in Utah County was. Outside of the flagship stores in large markets, it meets all the requirements of a good Nordstroms. They are dog friendly. The merchandise is always excellent and prices fair for what you get. Between this and the Brooks Brothers for shirts meets my shopping needs. read more

I shop at Nordstroms a lot and I feel that there Customer service is outstanding. I went to Nordstrom (City Creek) on 11/4/16 and I was hoping to be in and out. This turned into a long ordeal. I understand the women that was helping me was new. I didn't have my Nordstrom note with me but knew I had one. When I asked if she could apply it to the top I was purchasing the response was "I have to have the number or the bar code to scan it." She did not even try customer service or ask a co-worker to make sure her response was correct. I called customer service and had them speak with her. Only for them to tell her that she does not have to have the physical note. Then I go downstairs to give some feed back about my experience. I was given the store managers email. When I get home, come to find out the magnet strip was not removed. ughhh. I sent the manger an email only to receive a failed mailed delivery in return. I called the store and was able to get the Managers correct email. In order to receive a response from the store manager I had to send 2 emails and by this time 7 days had passed. "NORDSTROM CUSTOMER SERVICE COMMITMENT We have a long-standing commitment to provide our customers with the best possible service every time they shop and to continually maintain a strong and lasting relationship with them." This was not the service I received. This was a sequence of unfortunate events that I would not expect from Nordstrom. read more

This location however has limited its clientele to a very specific and limited sized clientele - they carry no wide-calf boots any longer and offer no extended sizes for women. This Nordstrom is huge and super classy and the workers are very friendly and really willing to help! Overall I typically chose Nordstrom because of the amazing customer service. They have the most incredible return system. I have had shoes and things that I have had issues with, and they always have either given me a new pair or fixed the issue. I may spend more money getting things here than I would at the other places... but it really is quality that makes it completely worth it. I normally don't buy a lot of chothes here.. just because they are pretty pricy and I am a poor college student haha. I do love that they will give you perfume samples of any kind you want so you can test it at home and see if you like it. I really appreciate that. And yeah... overall a super great store! Nordstrom? This is Bipolar Disorder. Bipolar, meet Nordstrom. Although I doubt there's much confusion about where I'm going with that opening line, suffice to say my shopping experiences here have been a mixed bag. No pun intended. The SAs who work in Collectors are generally fantastic. Hillary and Jay have both been responsive to concerns, easy to work with and have been wonderful when it comes to giving honest opinions or helping me during alterations. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of every department. Equally unfortunate is that I've been here enough to know that bad customer service in multiple departments is really the norm. Many SAs straight up ignore you unless you actively seek them out. Others (especially in beauty!) will push products as if they need to make a quota, rather than listening to what you when you request a specific product. I get that they're weary of window shoppers, but in reality it's a self-fulfilling prophecy: Of course I'm going to walk out without buying if you treat me horribly until it finally clicks that Wow, maybe she IS serious about purchasing these Tom Ford sunnies... Oh wait. Too little, too late. The worst was in the designer handbag department. An SA complimented my Chanel flap and then proceeded to try to get me to buy well, everything. When I'd politely decline and begin to walk away, she'd ask if she could just show me one more bag and very forcefully tried to get me to try it on. The fact that I wasn't interested in bags that day or the fact that I said I had a preference for designers their store doesn't stock had no impact. It was so turned off that I gave what could have been her sale to that of an SA from an entirely different department because she was so ruthlessly obnoxious. Bottom line: the customer service is hit or miss and frankly, given that I can purchase many of the items from say, Bergdorf Goodman online and save on shipping and sales tax, I'd rather go that route than shop here for most things. They also don't have an official customer service desk or so I was told --you're left to deal with department managers instead. I realize that Utah wants to promote City Creek as being a luxury shopping destination, but with it's largest department store falling tragically short in what one expects from a luxury store, it's simply a pipe dream. Call me picky if you choose, but standards at this location are low. Period. read more

They carry more high end brands and they have a few sections in the store that are exclusive to certain products - not sure what you call them... a store within a store? I have only shopped at the City Creek. In shoe department , no one offered to serve me.. I had to ask for Help. They seemed as we were disturbing their conversation. Finally he plopped the shoes in front of me and walked away. We are from Ogden I think they describe us as country bumpkins. Forget service in fashion department, go to cosmetics and you are so shunned. Have to go Dillard's and their customer service is bad but better then Nordstrom. read more

I am a loyal shopper of Nordstrom and have had great experiences; but, not at this one. This Nordstrom is really lacking in customer service. I have visited this store on multiple occasions and each time was a major disappointment. On my first visit to purchase a swimsuit, I have to actively hunt down a sales associate to help me get a fitting room. The first sales associate saw me holding a swimsuit and quickly walked away without acknowledging me or offering to help. Once again on my second visit I had to actively seek help for a fitting room while 3 sales associate were standing around chatting with each other and not offering service in the BP department. Thinking this was a fluke I moved over to TBD department to grab a couple more items and was not offered help by any sales associates. Once again at the checkout counter, 3 sale associates were talking amongst each other and not helping costumers. When I approached them to pay they gave me a strange look as if I interrupted their important conversation and made me feel awkward and uncomfortable. I hope that if management reads this review, they are able to fix this problem so other people do not have to experience the same treatment I received. read more

The only reason i go to City Creek is Nordstrom's. I love love love the make up counters and fragrance. Always super friendly and helpful and load me up with samples. I also love the shoe department, amazing!!! I noticed that they have a lot of items that they carry in the catalog too. I think they have a great Men's department with designer labels that compete with Vegas markets, im impressed for sure!! read more

What's with all of the 5 star reviews for this Nordstrom? I find it difficult to say, but the Durham, NC Nordtrom is much better than this one. I found this one to be lacking in variety and high-end designers. I wandered around for at least 10 minutes without anyone helping me, which is completely not the Nordstrom way, nor anything I have experienced before. I ventured into Nordstrom because I was in SLC for a conference and did not plan for it to be as cold as it was, so I was out looking for a coat and some warmer blouses and/or a sweater. I did find a few things, but again, the selection was sparse. It is a great anchor for the City Creek area, but I have to say I was disappointed. read more

I love this new store. I feel like the store security is over zealous. They are so obvious and seemingly self important. I feel like a thug by their tacky stalking techniques. I would like to say he gym rat I have never even had a parking ticket and if you really watched the store you would know we spend way to much here. The store is great, the design is stylish and contemporary. I frequently have my shoes shined here. They do an exceptional job with good polish and treatments. We braved going to Nordstrom's on the 23rd of December. Walking at City Creek was nearly impossible but we finally made it inside the store. We were looking for an old fashioned atomizer to put your perfume in. You know the kind your Grandma had on her dresser. Cecilia helped us and said they only had ones for travel. After waiting a minute she said they had one that was a free gift with purchase. I didn't love the perfume that came with it but was willing to buy it just for the atomizer. Then she handed it over the counter and said Merry Christmas. I stammered because I didn't expect to get something for free especially at Nordstom but there it was again that incredible customer service they are so famous for. You have a great employee in Cecilia so please give her a big raise for making me so happy. read more

Who doesn't love Nordstrom??? This store is wonderful. The salespeople on the floor seem a little weary of window shoppers though. Unless you approach one of them directly I noticed it was hard to get help downstairs in the jewelry department. Lots of them standing around but nobody really wanting to help. This store is really nice. They are right across from the Salt Palace, and I love visiting it on my way to Con's. I love how clean they are. Although their clothes are a bit on the pricey side, the store is fantastic! I have not actually purchased anything so cannot say anything about the service. read more

Nordstrom is my go-to place for myself and for gifts for others. This location is huge and has all of my favorite designers through the store. I like how helpful the staff is. I never feel like I'm getting probed here, but there are plenty of people on staff everywhere to help if a customer has a need come up. read more
