24/7 pharmacy in the area. Drop off and pick up at drive through during peak hours. They seem to give prescriptions faster at drive through. Line inside had more than 25 people. read more

Open 24 hours a day and located in the Medical Center, always look at coupons in their ad before shopping. I wouldn't recommend shopping there for toiletries or cleaning products unless they are on sale or your desperate because they are a bit overpriced. Get your your prescriptions at Costco because they are cheaper and you don't have to be a member. There are 2 Redbox's outside for your convenience. read more

Long long wait at 11:30 pm. I had no way of knowing if my prescription was ready after standing in a seven person deep line! Ugh!

What a great store manager "Luna" and staff. I was shopping in the cards section and dropped a few items I was holding (including an original certified copy of a birth certificate). For some reason, I looked down and did not see the birth certificate, I frantically looked everywhere and assumed it must have slid under the greeting card display cases. The store manager was alerted and he looked as well. After a while, I left the store, called an hour or so later to leave my number "just in case", and a few hours later I received a call from "Luna" with the good news - he and two other employees "Andreas" and "Allyssa" had moved the display cases and after 20 minutes they located the birth certificate. Thank you so much for going above and beyond the call of duty and taking the time to do this! I want them to know that their good deed has not gone unnoticed. This Walgreens is crap! My dentist called in a script at 9pm wasn't ready by midnight. They said they called dentist and they didn't. They had her call at 1am wake her up only to tell me I don't know who you had call and impersonate a doctor, but we need to look into this. Keep in mind this was done in front of whoever was there. Called out my past prescriptions and what I was getting no privacy and very embarrassing. Worst Walgreens. I will never fill a prescription at Walgreens and intend to make sure everyone knows this Walgreens is horrible. (Just the over night pharmacist) he is a assuming piece of ****! read more

I switched back to using this since my insurance dumped cvs. I hate it. Always slow. Always rude. They say its because it's busy with the medical center... But there is only ever one window open. Perhaps its time to hire more employees? It's been a problem for a long time. And it doesn't matter what time of day I go. Night, morning, early morning, late at night, afternoon.... You need to block off around 30 minutes at least just for picking your prescription even when its ready. What is wrong here? Avoid if you can... I'm still waiting in line. read more

This update takes away one star: the pharmacy is clearly understaffed, the aisles are messy and the floors are dirty. In the face cream aisle there is a large amount of gooey substance hanging off the edge is a shelf that's been there long enough to dry out. Yuk! C'mon folks, you've got serious competition across the street. read more

The service here has always been great but it's in the heart of the medical center and gets packed. The drive through prescription drop off and pickup can be a nightmare. I only use it when I have both little kids in the car but it seems like a row of able bodied people are using it at the same time I do. When I go inside there is usually a long line. They may need to increase staffing here. However the service by the pharmacists and assistants is exemplary. They will text you many, many times when you're prescription is ready. read more

Worst Walgreens ever. They don't answer calls and when I come in no one is at the front counter to help. Once I was finally helped at the counter the guy did not even know what he was doing. Had to get someone else to come help. Do not use this Walgreens. read more

Went in to get a prescription around 12 pm and no one was waiting around or in line outside. I thought it was strange but awesome I didn't have to wait. Staff was very young but quick and easy. Only thing that kept it from 5 stars was that it had no red box like it's counterpart CVS down the road. Enjoy. read more

This store is incredible! They always have what I need in stock, and on the rare occasion they don't, they're very willing to offer me the next best option or a rain check on said sale, especially when I'm unaware of that sale. I think considering the flow of the store, and especially how busy it is, I'm very appreciative that the pharmacy is ALWAYS open, ALWAYS has a pharmacist, and ALWAYS has a staff willing to help. No store is perfect, but I think considering the area they are placed in, they're doing pretty damn great. So grateful for this particular Walgreens for doing what they can for the people that have all types of needs. The photo department is always open to help with whatever needs, even when they can't. Cosmetics is amazing! They know where and what they have and are always willing to help you find the next alternative, plus they're always willing to help in any way they can in the store. The cashiers up front are so welcoming. The pharmacy is always busy, but I expect that. THEYRE IN THE BUSIEST LOCATION! And the managers are sweet people always trying to get you the best solution. The pharmacy charged me $18 + for a prescription that should have been free with Medicaid. I tried going back to discuss this twice and calling them. It seems everyone there wants to pass the buck. I found out that someone put the wrong code in, causing me further of a hardship. The pharmacy should know when someone is on Medicaid and inform clients clearly instead of giving them anything. My daughter had been receiving this medicine for free for several years, and I did say something that day but the lady told me to go around the building to get back in line to address the matter. I'm so upset about this, it's ridiculous. read more

This is the very last time I'm coming to this Walgreens. I have been a patron of this Walgreens for over 7 years but it's time to look for a new Walgreens. The staff is always short handed and at times rude. This last experience my mom and I waited over 15 minutes in the drive thru and that was just to pick up medicine. We left without picking up our medication and upset. I've given this Walgreens many chances and I won't be back after this. read more

I've been here a couple of times because it's close to work. However, I always regret it. Because of the close proximity to the hosptial and several clinics, this place is always packed and it takes forever to get a prescription. I've never been able to drop off a prescription and pick it up while I wait. If you just go a few streets down you can find a different Walgreens that will get you your prescription much faster. read more

The pharmacy is useless. I'm sure patients leaving the hospital that had an rx called in several hours prior to discharge could benefit with the location, but normal prescriptions take 4-6 hours to fill. There is no communication from staff if there is an issue that delays the time it takes to dill your prescription ect ect. The location is great if you need OTC meds or something that doesn't require a prescription. I've never had a problem with the actual store and prefer it to other locations. If it weren't for the store I would have given a 1 star review. Save yourself time and the frustration and go somewhere else to fill your RX. read more

I've gotten 3 prescriptions sent here in the past. The first 2 they asked me to come back in 20 minutes because they were missing something. Through no fault of my own, I had to wait 20-30 minutes for them to correct the mistake while I was on a "short" break from work. Today, I get a text message that my order is ready. I show up and they flat out say that don't have any record of my prescription. Very, very unprofessional. Taking my business across the street to CVS. read more

This is the worst Walgreens ever. For being in medical center it is so poorly staffed. Be prepared to wait 30 mins for a pickup all the time. My review is for the actual Pharmacy. I recently moved to the medical center and I assumed getting my prescriptions filled here would be a nightmare because of how busy it might be. I was totally wrong, the pharmacy fills my prescriptions in less than an hour and I have never had to wait in a long line inside or in the drive thru. They even filled one immediately for me when I drove up and being open 24 hours is a big help! read more

I'm a little peeved by this Walgreens. I've used them (Walgreens in general) as a pharmacy for years. I just recently went to a new doctor and they had faxed over my prescription to this location. I waited and waited for them to call me when my prescription was ready and eventually nearly two weeks went by. I at first figured it might take awhile to process, and I completely forgot about it until I was on my last doage of the medication. Walgreens has always called me when my prescription is ready, so I figured it was the doctor's office that didn't have their stuff together. So I called and badgered them, then I called and inquired about it at Walgreens. Then the guy I spoke to on the phone, who clearly wasn't a pharmacist, tells me it was indeed ready weeks ago. Gee, thanks for letting me know!!! Somebody dropped the ball that day. Then I ask him about the higher dosage this new doctor prescribed me that I wasn't aware of until this man verified the refill for me, since I'd been taking the same dosage for years, and all he says is, "It should be fine." With no elaboration. Um, okay? I mean, if you are working in the pharmacy department and don't have sufficient answers, you find someone who does! We aren't talking higher amounts of blankets or kittens here. These are substances that can affect people in a serious way if taken incorrectly, guy. I really take issue with the fact that I have lost confidence in the knowledgeable ability of the staff. Can I trust what they are telling me with no explanation and no questioning of my medical history before giving their answer? read more

I am a kidney transplant recipient and recently switched from CVS Specialty to Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy, only because my neighborhood Walgreens is much closer for me to pick up the transfers from their Specialty location. Big mistake. I had no problems with my neighborhood Walgreens nor from my former CVS locations, but this Walgreens Specialty location has terrible customer service - missed phone calls, not giving their full attention to the patient, condescending and defensive, and not once apologizing for their mistakes. On top of all that they didn't input my Medigap policy and instead charged me for my anti-rejection Rx's. Then denied they would be able to correct their mistake, until minutes later, when they realized I already had my Medigap, and didn't just get it post transaction. They simply had not recorded it when I initially had given them my information. They told me they would "look into it" and call me back. Again, no apologies. Just defensiveness. I never got a callback. So I had to followup the next day before they closed. They said they corrected their mistake, pending my driving over there to show them the original receipts, but as we were closing the phone conversation, I'm told, "Yes, that's why we called you..." SMH. The main person I spoke with was Analisa, the Pharmacy Manager. She's been with them for 17 yrs. I guess hubris has settled in. read more

I agree with most of the negative reviews already posted here on level of pharmaceutical service. Have been using this pharmacy for many years (for many prescriptions) ONLY because of its 24-hour availability and the fact that it is closest to work and home. But they consistently screw up, and customers have to stay on them like hawks to make sure they receive what is ordered and in the correct manner. Their phone system is a sham (by admission of their own store manager), but no one at corporate level has done anything to viably fix the problems. Really a shame, since so many in the Medical Center area have to rely on them for health needs, but yet still receive such a sorry level of service. read more

I have never had a problem with this location before but they need to work on their customer service. Apparent pharmacist "Jeremy" is incredibly unprofessional. Scripts just seemed to have disappeared into thin air. Called in this morning to refill because my initial request via app was not going through as it usually does. As soon as I call in, this guy answers and proceeds to treat me with no dignity or respect, as every answer from him was in a completely condescending manner. The more questions I ask as to why my medication was no longer in the system, the more impatient he grows. This staff member seemed to be getting a thrill by just arguing with me. "Oh wells, Noooope," as well as trying to speak over me. I finally had to ask him if I could speak because every time I would even attempt to tell him how I clearly saw all the prescriptions my doctor put in at the beginning of the month, he would speak over me. I felt like he found this as just a game. I asked to speak to manager and he denied me that. This pharmacy, or staff member solely does not care about the health and wellbeing of their customers whatsoever. I feel bad for anyone that has to go through this. This guy should be fired. Would not even attempt to reach doctor, seemed to be doing something else while I was speaking to him and would even speak to staff members regarding personal lives "weekend plans" while I was trying to explain to him. read more

No matter what time of day I come in there is always a line and only one register open. Calling for extra cashiers is an act of congress. One employee actually said to me if you are purchasing cigarettes you need to wait in that line pointing to the long line of customers because she doesn't want to go back and forth. I try my best to avoid this Walgreens because it reminds me of the heb on Fredericksburg and Mary Louise. And folks here in San Antonio know about that stores lack of customer service. read more

Never use this pharmacy!!!! I would give this -5 star if I could!!! Waited at the counter for about five minutes before a guy (assuming it was the manager, he seemed nice) informed them they had a customer. Then they wanted to charge me a crap ton for my prescription. Went back in after working it out and then they had to "refill" it, even though i was in literally five minutes before. Heard them say it was ready 5-6 minutes later but waited to see if they would tell me or just let it sit. Waited another twenty minutes before I got so frustrated that I had to ask finally and was helped. Seriously, don't even use this pharmacy as a last resort unless you have two hours to waste. read more

I am a very tolerant person but this particular pharmacy has been getting worse and worse. In the last two months they have been inputting the number of refills my daughter to zero (even though she actually had several)which has been given me unnecessary delay to refill it. Several times we had refilled it and drove 20 minutes to pick it up and then they say it's not ready. Today I called my insurance to find out why the prescription is so high to find out Walgreens has been changing me an $18 fee. I called Walgreens and they blame the insurance and visa versa. So, basically no one can give me an answer. With the past issues I have had with Walgreens, I am more inclined to believe my insurance carrier than Walgreens. They are understaffed and unprofessional. Yesterday I asked to get a call back from the pharmacist and was told they might or.might not call me back it's up to them. WOW! They are harder to reach then the President! Took me only 50 minutes on hold this time to get through. This is my LAST time getting my daughter's refill here. Called 15rx pharmacy and someone actually picked up the phone right away! No automated service and an actual friendly voice! I'm giving them a try. read more

my beef is with the photo shop. i had prints i ordered on line.a few.like 5.i go pick them up i get a whole pack of pics. i say this cant be mine. the clerk shows me a few pics of some very young white folks. i had already said the pics were my grand daughter and that it was like 5 pics. i say no that is mine. my name on envelope jus not my pics. so she kooks through envelopes i remind her it should be a small envelope.now i have a cane and Obviously for a reason. im holding on to ease counter. i almost leaving to sit in car while she us searching. she decides she will just print me some new ones. oh yea she said the folk in pic had just come in looking for their prints and they had to reprint theirs( why then did she ask me if these were my pics when you knew the people had come in already? )( wtf)any who.. i hung in there got my few pics.paid not so much as a im sorry for the inconvenience or anything . soon as i got home did survey expressed my displeasure..bupkis...never heard from them again. i like this walgreens specials etc but photo department will never get a dime from me again read more
